Let's Talk about the BIG Reveals! - The Good Talk

[Music] welcome back to the good talk the show where we discuss what's hot what's gr and everything in between in the wide world of Warhammer we are here of course to talk about the big reveals we've had this week not only Thursday regarding age of Sigmar but today involving uh basically every other GW game spoiler alert it was not Emperor children my name is Adrian and this is my good friend Brian how you doing Brian I am amazing how are you I'm doing great we just had a great game of 40K definitely go check that out if you're into CSM or blueberries also known as ultramarines ultramarines and of course we are also joined today by the one the only Lin zch hi and we're excited because there's been a lot of new things so basically we're going to go through the reveals we're going to kind of give some thoughts reactions maybe some speculation and uh just chat about it cuz Frank a lot of this happened just this morning right before the Stream So if you're looking for a condensed place to see all the new stuff this is the right place to be let us know in the comments below uh what else you want to see in the future in regards to kind of new releases and stuff with that um let's see I think what we should probably do is start with the stuff from today and then finish with Sigmar because that's kind of a big that's a big discussion yeah that's a huge discussion for sure so we had two we know that the next two factions for 40K are going to be the sisters and the Jean steer CTS we've known this for forever um it's them followed by redacted codec and that's basically where the timeline currently ends for us we don't know what's happening after that uh so to nobody surprise this weekend they showed off um a little bit of each of those books um so with that linday let's take a look at your your choice dealer's Choice give me one second sorry yeah okay you you seen what's well before we jump into this then is now a good time to talk about what we thought was going to happen that didn't happen which you already alluded to earlier I know I was so prepared for emperess children cuz here's the thing uh they have announced that there will be an emperess children index uh that they're not going to be in this book which they're not and they very loudly said and if you think that this means there going to be a codex don't be so sure and it's like okay but they're not in this book which means if you want to keep uh Lucius the noise Marines those things playable you have to release the index right um and so I thought we thought they would see some sort of announcement we talked about this a little while ago whenever we heard about the U the preview happening on Sat or today rather uh that they they needed to right because for all the reasons you just said you can't use the units as they are because they're not in the book you can't use the index anymore because the book is out it's like where do these units exist where do these models live now they didn't go to Legends no so they're just in like this weird limbo so like it would have made sense cuz the book comes out soon yeah so to release something with with the book alongside it only made sense right I mean maybe they are and they're just not teasing it I sometimes the reveals are weird um I me I'm very curious you know noise Marines I think especially in things like Dread Talon to be able to Force battle battles shock tests on demand is very important we tried messing around with the Firebrand um there's some Demon units you can bring in but it's like a lot of work to Force battle shocks whereas noise is just a good unit they shoot they fight they cause battle shocks that'll be a big addition to that Detachment question so you know how it has like the list of uh what you're allowed to take as far as allies for rub Marines and uh like plague Marines and stuff yeah no Marines were on that list right yeah I believe so we can take a look um they were previously um well no there wasn't there was a thing about Lucius that was kind of a similar space um yeah so are on the list and it says see Emperor's Children which they don't say index or codex which is very interesting yeah you know um but yeah definitely so I guess we'll see that later um I just really want to know where redact it is yeah it just sucks that when the book comes out those things won't be able to be used until they release the rules for it exactly but uh cool with that let's take a look at what did get revealed um which is the new armies so of course we have the seers of battle uh getting their next update now they talked a little bit about some of the detachments they talked about uh there's going to be like a penitent Detachment so all about like penitent engines uh flagellant um Mor mortifiers all that cool awesome stuff that's cool they also mentioned there's going to be one about flamers or something like special weapons all heavy weapons I think you it right heavy yeah I I forget how General they made it and of course there's this brand new uh uh can can yeah with a jumpack which is great CU they actually need a jump Canon the only thing that had to go with the sarap from or zeraim was uh Celestine which kind of felt bad because then you were like if you wanted a character for the unit you had to take her which you aren't always going to take her every game yeah it's very Hefty right and you want to be able to support these units with with strats and abilities um we've seen how that is with CSM and doubly so here I also like the loadouts we' got this awesome mace yeah there's a halir one too yes and like the big old eviscerator that's right there oh yes so cool um and then of course they revealed the Battle Force box that uh comes with this new character um it's old art for the Codex cover sorry yeah it's still amazing it's pretty sweet art yeah the girli is at the bottom are they new uh I want to say that they're also old yeah it's all old I think it's all old although now we think about it they're not it seems lighter yes so they definitely edited it right they added like they masked out they kind of separated the the the ladies from the back backgr yeah yeah so they've changed it slightly yeah that doesn't I mean last Edition we literally just got a logo in the back so I I think it's good it's a good picture but Battle Force will be cool um and then combat Patrol new combat Patrol vagilin yeah the sacer Saints looks like just battle sister yeah Andis interesting I feel like it would have made sense for them to put the jump character here but then also they're not going to sell the Battle Force box if probably yeah I feel conflicted about this whole thing of like they're only in these giant boxes yeah but also like there's no jump infantry in this box so also it actually doesn't make sense for that now that I say that and look at the Box contents actually yeah can we see the Battle Force again lzy yeah let me do sorry thought Exorcist we go yeah see there's s it's all jump it's all and then an exorcist and an ex that seems strange that's a weird box that's a very weird box you're going to buy like one of those and then that's it yeah that's interesting that's weird see I don't like that much either cuz you're only going to buy one yeah cuz you're not running 30 I mean I mean you could there was a time you know you're right famously so and I guess you could make with this box you can make three of each right or if you buy two of them you can make three of each type of thing exactly uh you might get this twice actually I see getting two of this yeah actually cuz then you get two of the characters too Willow wants to point out allegedly the canonist looks better in red you know look at that black armor look so dope with the white Wings black and red though but if we just like mix the two yeah that's what but let me counter counter offer yeah white with red yeah I I'm I heard hearing you talk about um or hearing Brian talk about um white yeah the other day for sisters like now I'm now I'm interested white with like a splash of red you know what I think this is a great idea you should paint up some sisters so um that's a great idea I agree so I'm into black actually we're we're going to get these new models will'll be perfect you can't have our studio Army have two different color schemes I mean we'll slowly convert them a little B you know you know I love this this side by side though it's literally like the willow Adrian color scheme battle the black armor the red armor you know what it's up to you chat never ending debate yeah um I'm curious chat does anyone did they mention anything about the other Detachment how many detachments they say because I did miss that we were setting up and just getting into the studio at the very beginning so did they say how many attachments there'll be they said for GSC it's going to be five MH um how many are there for sisters four okay yeah I think that's fine G it before yeah that feels bad coming off the back of chaos Space Marines with eight well well chaos face R just everyone under the water with their eight Orcs were still six but Orcs is a very both those armies are way bigger line than this sisters is a decent size yeah but like custodes were four and sisters have more stuff than custodes custodi should had less I mean I'm not saying it but is that what you're saying I might be implying no I just think I don't know four is seems like I don't know cuz there's going to be one that's just obviously the best right so you're going to like shoehorn into hopefully not hopefully not sure oh will grees no because of the GFC they got they really it's it's four and then the brw brothers Detachment which is going to be heavy into guard and it's going to be very specific right so think about how generalizable they are so uh we're hearing jump repentia Holy Trinity and index repentia Holy Trinity index what's Holy Trinity is that like Celestine um uh Holy Trinity traditionally game-wise is the use of Bolter a melta and a flamer oh yeah so that would be really cool I would like that because that would also lean into the the kits right we're in the age of like you have to build box there and if they give a reason to be like this is the Holy Trinity you get abilities like that would be sick um that sounds really cool yeah flamer Bolter melta exactly um so yeah I'm curious yeah I'm excited for the book either way obviously more book more rules I'm exced I just hope that they don't do what they have previously the current thing is just ported into one of the four detachments because then you're really only getting three oh they're doing that they've already said that so the current one's good it's fine but like we've played with it enough so like coming from an index into a codex you want something fresh you want something new right so if you look at the Orcs for for example you know there is the the standard I'm glad it's there but there are five other ones and everything is so General mhm that it doesn't matter what you play you can play with all your stuff but like with only four and one of them is already the current Detachment it feels like might be of course this is all like I have no idea we have no idea worried about the the generalizability of it yeah which is totally fair so you know I think we'll see in the coming days and weeks what happens um it's weird that the gun with unit specific attachment rather than the orders so I think the orders I I like this I think going with types of detachments for for sisters makes sense I think for most armies you want to go for that there are some armies like space Marin even chaos space Marin to an extent where it makes sense to do these these really really wellestablished Legions the orders existed for like an addition or two and they weren't even fully separated like identity wise um so I'm I think in my opinion this is a book where it makes sense to not tie yourself to the orders like thank God look there's no bloody Rose which I know everyone's like well get bloody Rose one day I'm like hopefully we don't because everyone's always like because that's going to be the best one this and that and like those are all bad things to happen to the game right so if we can lean away from that that's great um how generalizable that's the bigger question I think so we will see a jump pack Detachment with only two jump pack units scares me that is that is true that is very true oh three jumpack units four four now Celestine the character sarim zepim EP Stern can no no they had they had like uh uh flip belt thing at one point yeah anyways so we'll see uh lots of we'll see we don't know yeah it's just a little tease of of what's to come uh so that of course is uh one of the two new armies that they uh give us some details on the other one is the Jean stealer Colts oh and I'm so excited uh as we mentioned they announced five detachments for the genan stealer Colts and one new model of course which is this boo here um and they they first of all beautiful it's amazing so cool grossly swollen brain yeah the back like the front looks okay and then you turn it around it's just like this weird bul like thing is That's So Co this is disgusting yeah but in all the right ways you know what I me nasty disgusting in all the wrong way it's so gross imagine having a brain that big yeah put it's bigger than the rest of your body yeah you want to carry that around that's why he has a ke I wonder how strong his neck is oh it's strong big big neck energy for sure how do they wear hats do you think um do you think you get some custom made yeah for sure they're very long too cuz the thing is you wouldn't want to put them on the brain portion you want put them on the carapus P more like a hot dog bun that's just like yeah yo maybe like those uh speak it's like the fast food things oh yeah like out they have those you have he has an exposed brain like to the element so much dust is going to get in those the folds I think it dust itself though I think the like the psychic energy is like pushes the dust off when his head gets itchy do you think he scratches it yeah yeah cuz what if he like cuts it open or something careful you know bless you ex me sorry um yeah very cool and they mentioned so the role there's there's two things that this the Army has a ton of it's [Laughter] characters and infantry and I was a little disappointed to see The Brood brothers because it's like well I just don't want more horde units right um and then there's like here's another character and I'm like oh boy but I think it looks like they thought it through from a rules perspective this one is anti-monster anti-tank so it shoots big blasts and the unit it joins gets lethal hits which also works to go against those big targets so then I'm like okay it has a role it's a cool model it's distinct I mean so yeah of course here we have uh we do get New Codex art you know xenos armies are better than Imperial armies New Edition new art that's how it goes right yeah exactly yeah right that's that that art is actually really really cool right pretty cool the background what's in the background I can't even tell uh there's a there is the logo actually funny enough oh that is the logo I thought it was like a building or something well there's art as well yeah oh it's the outline of the logo I see yeah yeah yeah it's just like the the stroke yeah um 13 characters could do it a bit more we have more characters than leagues of otan have have unit entries thank you brother oh don't talk to me about Harley quins I'll talk to about har they're oc1 uh and of course the Jean Stiller Battle Force box this is something I'm hopeful for and I think a lot of GC players are hopeful for is there's there's the Goliath here let's make the trucks and The Rock Grinders actually good actually interesting you know um I just I would love to be able to play them the gas are so they're like when you when I think of GSC and they're supposed to be like these mining type things for whatever reason they went that direction they went that direction right uh but like the vehicles you never see them right it's only like here's 120 models and that sucks that suck like and this would help counteract that right because it's like oh you actually want to be in transports you spend points on those bigger models so it doesn't have to be 120 xys and Z's um so that gives me hope uh they also mentioned that this one is geared towards one of the detachments we saw the sisters one's geared towards the jump Detachment this one is geared towards um it's kind of melee based so we have uh pure strain we have Aber um and then of course we have some uh NE fights cuz it's not the oh that's the beatboxer the DJ it's a new model it's a new model oh that oh yeah of course remember they want us to spend the $200 yeah that makes sense yeah um but it's a good box looks cool yeah I mean it looks like there's enough like models in there where you're getting enough variation where you can buy a couple of them and then you don't feel like oh well now I have 30 Jump dudes of all the same thing right i' buy this twice for sure yeah um speaking of which Detachment wise um brw Brothers is going to be one of the detachments uh where I think they said like up to half your army can be allies and it is from guard mil I was also nervous when we saw The Brood brothers that they would just be like here's your brood Brothers unit there's no cross collaboration anymore which would be kind of a shame because it's a cool concept um so there's that there's this kind of melee based one there's uh I don't remember actually what else they said do we know folks you told me I feel like I did tell you but I don't remember then we played a whole game that was a long time ago my little brain can't handle it let us know folks what were the other attachments that they announced well back to the Brew Brothers though I am pretty happy to see that their Brew brothers are actually going to be what because remember when they first came out and you could take Brew Brothers you could take like wyverns and bassets and all those types of guard units in your army and it was so cool it was a really thematic Army I'm glad to see that bringing it back because it just used to be again like you're saying 10 infantry dudes that called themselves Brew Brothers with mortars and it was just like right it kind of feels bad exactly so I'm glad to see that they're going back walking it back and going into a direction where they can take from Master M arm again exactly it's going to make the armies feel much more uh unique to the person that's playing them which is really important to me I I am surprised that they did this and didn't release guard before because like we're going to use index guard with codex and then they're going to release you know and it also is going to create weird things where like I say what you will about the great Forge World purging things like the Cyclops demolition Vehicles it's just janky and that'll be kind of okay when that goes away because it's already janky for guard players and then now GC players take them and it's just like that's also one of the things like as happy as I am that they're getting this stuff I'm also very skeptical of like how the armies will interact with one another like on the just from like a balance perspective you know what I mean because like it can really go heavy into one way it's either really really good or really really bad oftentimes and I the balancing is going to be really important they've never made it work um the last time we had it we had Crossfire and the crossfire rule really wants you to take Crossfire units to synergize so when you take guard units that don't get orders but they also don't get Crossfire it's like well they're kind of just worse in both regards so hopefully they design that well very curious uh we are hearing so there is a outrider box um maybe a transport Detachment hor focus is that what it says mik Detachment um the bikes are so cool bikes are awesome So Co right and speaking of which I believe we had a Super Chat regarding that we did back to that this is a good time to take it I think yeah excellent so we did have a super chat um for GSC coming in from specs thank you so much specs for the Super Chat and they say GSC since bikes are getting a whole Detachment designed around them I'm really hoping they get a bit of a glow up with the Codex fingers crossed and until then conversions continue yes dude the bikes have they had the Icarus moment they flew too close to the Sun and then they got burned yeah they they got burned to the ground real bad yeah so I love the bikes are awesome they they traditionally have been very good in every single version of of the game remember La last Edition it was like five up in five up unkillable they were just absolutely unkillable there was no way kind of too good to be honest um but beautiful models so hopeful um cool let's take a look at combat Patrol um let's see so we got Achilles Ridge Runner we've got uh are you a bikes are you un a backl yeah hybrids looks like maybe two oxes and they they in the combat Patrol I think it looks like they probably have you building one as metamorphs and one as uh that's a cool box I'm into that yeah huh in tandem with like the Battle Force seems like wouldn't be the worst thing right take two of each yeah it's an expensive Army so if if there's any savings you can find yeah for sure yeah ah cannot wait uh look it's going to be a ton of fun it sounds like these will be released in tandem which will be fun because we can do a little little double date oh yeah be fun you got to take me to dinner first I'll take you to dinner we'll do GSC versus sisters for like four episodes in a row everybody will love it don't yes I love it uh cool with that uh so that is the main that is the 40K R Stu noers children um let's take a look at what we have next dealer's Choice Lindsay yeah let's see oh har so this is a pretty momentous occasion we've been asking for plastic mechanicum for about 15 years now um and while we never got the fires of sxis that ported them into 40K still not bitter um we finally have them now um and it's great so if you're if you play Horus heres I think it's going to be a big upgrade it will make these kits more affordable which is which is awesome you have to deal with the resin and like it's already a beautiful line like this is this is my favorite models from horse harres honestly um so they yeah no Go Fish uh I I was just going to Rattle on uh I I do like these models I like because the th heresy and heres is obviously Space Marines it's really hard to be unique in that way in that game system and this Army obviously is very unique in the game system because everything is like a seror here right they're all they're not act servitors I don't think but uh I think they're they look very similar to ctors yeah they're like some sort of combat seror I think and their I think it's a transport right the the tank right there that's a transort uh has such a unique aesthetic right doesn't even exist in 48 either like there's no V that looks like that it has like similar tracks to a land Raider obviously very not very clearly not a land Raider I'm super this for me it looks really really cool it's beautiful yeah it it hearkens back to like this like pre dark AG of technology age right so of course you got the classic thanatar you have the THX you have the ctors and then the transport great reimagining not reimagining just uh plastic ification which they do have to completely redesign if anyone thinks that they just take takes the take the 3D models and then just make them plastic that's not the case at all it's completely different process uh so it's cool I'm sad we came them for 40K but I am very excited for your horse heresy players uh speaking of which big thank you to John McCardle robots uh this is what finally gets me to try heresy wait didn't didn't doesn't he already play heresy I think he he plays a little bit everybody that has a Space Marine Army yeah kind of plays heresy yeah if only that only that that that easy this a pretty cool army I'm just saying so full groom got me close to trying heresy again but then I was like oh but like the rest of the emper children is just like regular Marines so then I got less excited yeah this is we have like the Phoenix guard and then the Terminators and stuff that are all like every Army has a Primark and the unique unit right unfortunately the Army incentivizes you to build B list that's true so you got to play with those lame boring Marines I don't know hey what's up Yousef uh we forgot about your meme of the week hope that's okay um is there anything else Below on this article uh just Oh weird yeah well again very very cool that'll be awesome looking forward to those kits next up the tiny one this was funny Alice when segued in the show in the preview show they were like yeah speaking of Horus heresy and then they showed all these tanks and you're like wait oh they're tiny tanks you can't really tell what the photography this weird it is technically Warhammer the horse heresy legion's imperialis the devastation of Taren why about five TT a lot of work look every title gets bigger I it um but yeah let's let's scroll down I don't if they show it's so this is a new campaign book of course talks about the devastation of Tarn it's got some really cool progression campaign systems um it looks awesome yeah the cover art for that book was really cool right amazing yeah it's it's super sick um and then there's yeah sarin uh that's the classic Whirlwind sakarin chass VOR y that's all I got VOR right that's the one the vendor oh yeah I think it is the vendor yeah so cool and then more land variants these are the ones we just got the horse heresy kits on Russ Russ uh yeah it's a lot there's like a million names now well you said land Rider oh sorry and that's not the name yeah yeah yeah something like that yeah they're Leman rust variants um so yeah they're just directly porting those into this tiny tanks tiny tanks are tiny indeed I mean imagine imagine doing the hazard stripes on that tiny tank oh my God I will not imagine yes there's if you zoom in in here like if you look at that the the lens oh my God tiny lens I I'm into that though I want do Hazard Str but I'll pain some tiny lenses like the same thing as an eyeball right wild tiny decal that's amazing yeah I'm not into that though it's so absurd it's and they even weather the the uh the hazard Stripes have like scratches on them I'm like what who did this who painted these tanks what poor soul was tasked that well G you're not paying this person enough whatever it is absolutely not oh my godh so yeah looks cool that's Legions yeah fory last one Alf clar almost last one and here we have from the deps of necromunda uh okay so we so let's get the jokes out of the way first um the little skull with the with the things obviously it wasn't the uh new faction the slavers enslavers obviously but it is what looks to be a really cool necromunda expansion um with this it's like way it's even deeper deeper underground and essentially there was this MOS that tried to cure the gene Stiller uh curse and of course as happens with with with you know Warhammer everything goes wrong he gets infected by it and so now there's like these messed up Jing St cult uh curse that in infests the planet and I think they mentioned it also like that the the actual like it's different enough that the actual tyranids aren't coming because they're like oh like something weird about this signal are gross yeah it is gross and they are gross they are I have a question though yeah yeah so the megus is aware that there's a problem and that the tyranids are like going to come and kill everybody so how are they aware that's the the whole geneal thing is they have no idea um so how do they become aware of this like tyranid high Fleet that's going to be descending upon the world to eat all of them because they are turning into uh tyranids that's a great question so some some select people in Inquisition and apparently actually an's kind of known for doing experiment on things that they shouldn't even the horse heresy it was like everyone's trying to fight uh oh no it was in um the great Beast the Beast with Beast Rises and everyone's like trying to fight the Orcs and deal with orc problems and then admech are trying to like just collect them and do experiments and they're like taking these contracts and be like oh yeah yeah we're like doing defense stuff but really they're like doing experiments and like doing all this other stuff so adm's constantly getting information they should be priew preview to um and then like acting on it without helping anyone else out so that's that's my yeah rationale that's fair they're they're just problematic I love this imp guy I like yeah I it's so cool I have idea for gold even now yes imp man do this one's awesome there was one earlier version of this kind of Imp in in Forge World and he just like he has like crossle and he's like sitting um so I guess it's a thing for like fansar or something MH I I don't does anyone know what the heck this thing is I don't it very vampiric though it does look like a vampire like you also like the little bang in the front yeah yeah it's like if bat boy had a cousin what G bat boy has this thing when they do vampires all of their mouths have to be open so they can show that their teeth are only two of them you know it's like they only have two teeth and their mouths are always open and Vamp yeah and that's how they distinguish their vampires right I love these vanar suits yeah so cool new special weapons so sick the sniper is my favorite by far the cloak on there amazing ah these are so cool what a cool gang Twisted chabom is that what it is Twisted chabom I can see that amazing uh so yeah bunch of new vanar models this is part of the new starter box with a new core book because there wasn't enough books I know now we get another one I guess there's more of course we got to see the jeans deers more jeans dealers look how cool they are they these things are terrifying right like if Jean steers weren't scary enough already here you go the stuff my okay did they describe what those weird little floaty boldest things are um I'm sure they did I don't remember them talking about that they probably did what they did talk about is uh because they had the model designers in the studio talking about taking the genan Steelers um like design and modifying it right and the Jean Steelers are all like they're gross but they are very like symmetric and kind of precise and so they did a lot of things where they would kind of like warp warp perspectives here they make them asymmetric so some have like more arms on one side and like twist them like these almost look like silver neth bits so it's kind of interesting hearing from the model designers like how they approach this um to make these these things Templar Warden they are flood for sure they're little poppers from Halo yeah they are flood that's awesome so very cool yeah I I want I want some for my GSC look I have a GSC gang fora oh you got to get it so I gotta get him so sick oh and there's little GSC gangers yeah but their faces don't look like normal GSC like look at these guys are oh my God they look like yeah they're kind almost like the Rings Orcs Jackson Orcs yeah which is cool it's like okay this nid Jean seed is like messed up something just totally wrong yeah yeah which is saying a lot yeah and they're AR like they're not wearing the typical GSC attire right which I find to be very refreshing that's very cool what a cool twist Hive suas and there's the book again really cool artwork but uh another book yep another book yeah you're worried about that but it's blue this time yeah but there's too many books yeah that's a lot yeah exciting stuff very exting Miss no so that is everything from today oh there's some of the all okay yeah trans back to this real quick yeah yeah yeah yeah just to yeah so this is athala these are like the Terminator dudes yeah exactly they're such a cool kit yeah those guns look very intimidating right oh man oh look at these guys these guys look significantly less intimidating yeah yeah those little zombie Walkers oh they did a great job like so I have a bunch of these the resin ones of these for my dark admic but they really updated them nicely like the little Limbs and things they're very their posing is very reminiscent of like pox Walkers M cuz they're all like kind of bowlegged C like P to they're all like kind of like shambling you know like zombies it reminds me very much of the pox Walkers absolutely and because it's in plastic they were able to like the arms are also kind of thinner and more frail which with resin is kind of dubious yeah um that's really cool man they do make me feel some sort of way yeah and the new Megos yeah so cool that guy I'm definitely getting use for 40K oh for sure so sick adme yeah i' make hype amazing okay with that of course let's let's cast our minds back okay to Thursday so all right I'm there I'm going to we're going to yeah going close it so you can pull it up Kip savan Kip saav dud I was I talked a lot of smack about Kip savian and I was very impressed by him yeah he was into it he was super he was like knowledgeable he's like do the thing I'm like hitting on Forest doing the things he was like super super into it which and he was wearing a scaven shirt I know right which made it even better yeah what's not to love uh so I was I was really happy with that actually it was it was really funny to watch um so AOS 4 mhm uh um yeah there's really a lot to unpack spearhead we've now seen spearhead um I believe there's also there has been some spearhead demos happening at like Warhammer world and stuff like that people are getting their hands on it um and we can now talk about the fact that we actually have seen some of this beforehand um we can't say when or why or how but we have seen it thanks to James workshop and um it was cool I will say based off what we've seen uh this is the best Edition change that I've ever seen out of any game right I think every single change is an improvement to Quality of Life um I think they have streamlined the rules they've made it more approachable this is not a simplified yet simple uh it's definitely not the case um but they have streamlined things uh even just just simple stuff down to the verbiage and fixing you know objectives are smaller oh my gosh that was to me that's the biggest change like that's the biggest quality of life change is going from these massive pie plates down to like the like the standard of drink you exactly make it more t yeah it's so much better you fight if you're just within 3 in you don't have to worry about multiple ranges on weapons and what's your base size and technically 1 in is more than a 25 and you know that uh changes on verbes on like special rules like um like uh I'm I'm totally blanking sustained we've gotten used to language of sustained hits lethal hits but they don't bother with that in Sigmar they just say uh extra hits or something they literally the the name of the rule is the thing that it does which is awesome y very simplified you have health now you don't have wounds because you're willing to wound and then you lose your wounds and it's like we are kind of used to that this point but it's very strange especially getting into it from somebody who doesn't know all of the Burbage like that is very confusing like oh I have Five Wounds and you're wounding me so I you know it's very complicated to just jump into as a new player exactly and I i' I've met several times with um the head of the the game now and he comes from a digital games background and he's definitely kind of Tak this approach to this redesign of the game it's it's much more digital it's going to be this is going to make some people mad but I would compare some of it to Magic the Gathering for example where there's a lot more things that are based around keywords and those keywords interact in a very specific way um and all that really means is it's going to make it simpler to it's going to make much more clear how things work we're going to get rid of a lot of the like ambiguity that Warhammer is kind of known for where it's like oh is this thing this thing technically it's worded differently it's like no there's going to be all these keywords and they're going to hook in together nicely um and it really does work so very excited for that yeah let's look at some new models yeah let's new model hype there was so much stuff that they show off is so good right oh my gosh uh let's see yeah where's the where yeah so what do you want to let's start with the stormcast Save The Best For Last I think right see yeah let's see where this takes us this is just us to great excellent nice uh probably the uh we could look at these individual models sure yeah no there should be another article sorry Lindsay that's all good um go all the way up go back to the homepage yeah I don't think I think this is not the page we want isn't not the page we looking uh probably wait is that not that little bar that was keep going down no wait G and Tide oh bottom bottom left article this one yeah beautiful so we got the scaven tied box oh my gosh comes with so much stuff um which I know some people are concerned about price but I think it'll be okay um it's a and it's a lot of stuff it's like 70 models yeah it's 74 yeah exactly 74 models and you get terrain you get terrain and the boards obviously get the core r book I think you might even get the general handbook and I think you might get the spearhead book cards and the cards and the cards yeah there's a lot of stuff in honly um so so that's cool and my guess is this is just like the Leviathan box where you will have a subset of these will be the spearhead box the same way that the subset of the Leviathan box had the um combat Patrol stuff um so it's just a great way to get a ton of models get the core rules um but let's let's take a closer look at some of the models um so there's all the stuff little bit of terrain yeah look at all yeah I said terrain and it's too wall but it's still still terrain right here we go yeah I'm so glad that they're bringing these like bird Griffin things back yeah they're so iconic for the faction oh so cool they've definitely made it more Grim dark yeah again um I'm a big fan of the models I know some people will be like oh they look very similar I I don't know who would say that nobody but I think I would agree with whoever says that I think this is like Batman every every couple years we have to have a newer Grimmer darker version and I'm here with I'm here for it yeah but Batman there's only one of right so you have to like I don't know what do you mean there's only one Batman there's only I mean at the time that we watch Batman he is the only Batman right except for the one year that there was three Batmans in the same year we don't talk about that yeah I'm just saying I think I don't think that stands up then no I just think they all look very similar that's all I'm saying they look awesome I'm not saying they look bad oh they're so cool did those words ever come out of my mouth no well to your point though to your point um this kind of reiterates something we were saying before where GW did squat a bunch of Sigmar models and here they are releasing new versions of them which I personally I'm not I don't like that you don't like that I don't like that like if you can use the old ones you absolutely could not making them I I literally same model same same same unit I get it what's wrong with that I just don't like it interesting I just I'm not it's not that big of a deal because you can use the old stuff but like if you're going to get rid of a line and a range or whatever don't then just make the same exact thing but like 10% better um you know what I mean no I don't okay well I think I think it you should if you can make a better version do it don't just like have the same version forever yeah but their whole reason for getting rid of all these models was that they couldn't support that many things like there were too many units to support so they got rid of a ton of characters they go a bunch of stuff and then they just replaced them with the same amount of stuff I think the real reason is they're making new kits and there's no reason to sell the old kits okay but again but what they're telling us right is not that what they're telling us is that they can't support this it doesn't make sense financially or whatever the case was yeah and then they're just going to put out the same amount of stuff like it doesn't make sense interesting I mean it's true they can't afford to keep doing old kits when they have new versions stop it so these are stormcast uh big upgrades they look very beautiful and then let's take a look at the scaven rats on rats we love it this is an incredible model absolutely the best model in this box it's awesome I love it and the new Grace here beautiful Dynamic MH just incredible so many so many little little rat rat rat tails and tendrils right I love this spy glass rat he's so funny I like how it's like not even straight either just like how does this even how does it work this new Canon is amazing it is epic it feels like they finally got like the tubing and the brass like I don't know it's just so so fantastic mhm ah oh the these are actually are the rat ogr the rat OG are so this is a big glow up because they've always been cool conceptually but I would go so far as to say they've never really had a cool model yeah these are awesome MH oh so so beautiful and the warp the warp block jails y they're back baby we got rat snipers and the new Clan rats um which are really nice they're really elegant mhm I mean it's it's there's not much to say it's just beautiful new models y um it's a lot of models it's a ton of models break you I think for the scaven yeah and you get 20 of or 50 for scaven 54 maybe 50 it's probably what 40 Clan rats and then three ogres the character the three Jaz three jaes the rattling Cannon yeah I wasn't keeping track of the map there but that's what it is it's it's it's close yeah yeah um so cool yeah and of course the board and stuff that you go with it yep and the cards or's that the board uh so this is a book for this is fire and Jade this is the book for all the spearhead stuff it has everything you need for spearhead in one book which I like I like it's a separate book this isn't combat Patrol where it's just like a tiny subsection afterthought this is like a full separate game mode uh and that is exciting so I don't know I'm very op optimistic about uh spearhead uh you notice they also have the the boards there for spear head with the objective markers just set into it um which is great because let's face it like in the mission that there there's there's always going to be fixed objectives anyway so why not make it easy pick up easy to play um I would compare spearhead more to like like a TCG game where you could in an evening play like three games you could do a tournament in an evening uh which is great because people have lives and you know need to to work so it's not always feasible to go do a whole weekend or a whole Saturday for an event yeah I mean that's kind of like the beauty of card games right where you can play five six games in an evening in less time than you would play one game of Warhammer right yeah exactly I like this approach to it a lot fingers crossed we of course on the studio are going to be working on uh as many spearhead box we as we can getting ready for that MH and the core rule book a that's a cool looking core rule B um yeah a book yeah t beautiful and that folks is all the reveals last week off jam-packed um lot to be excited about no one p children but that's okay uh what are you most excited about oh what a question what am I most excited about I think probably Sigmar um 40K you know it's 40K we're always going to get new stuff for 40K like uh and sisters isn't like my main Army right so I'm excited for it but it's not like the tippy top of the list for me I think Sigmar for sure though there's a lot of hyp the new edition and I think they're going to probably roll it out with a lot of extra little gobbins that we haven't seen yet so I'm super excited for that for sure yeah no absolutely I I'd say the same Sigmar is just such a big deal I'm really excited for that so um it's a game like we love the models we love the game and it'll be nice to have like a streamlined new version and kind of an excuse to get back into it if you've if you haven't played in Sigmar or if you've fallen out of it kind of like like us um this is going to be a good chance good excuse to really get back in there and have fun with it so um although I am pretty keen on the GSC it's just been so many good books one after the other um I'm excited to see what we can do with that yeah for sure so yeah um yep yep y people asking about multiple battle forces and why would we talk about buying more than one yeah look this isn't necessarily buying them all at once folks uh the thing is though battle forces we're talking about accessibility right um this is an expensive hobby yeah um luckily the the Battle Force boxes the combat Patrol boxes do have savings so if you are looking to do this on a budget it might be worth it saving up for one and then saving up for a second one I know lots of people that do that so we're not we're not being in Sensi being like you're going to go buy out all these battle forces no no it's because you need to be able to save money on for sure this is realistic this is the way way to do it honestly and that's why GW does it realistically that's why GW does it right they know that all of their products are very expensive and especially with the price increases that they've announced yeah uh like any any way you can find savings you should take advantage of and whether or not you want all the models in the box it is a way to get a discount on the stuff that you do want if you're into that right there's also lots of stories that do um discounts on new releases it's true yeah pre-s and stuff yeah so you're going to get discounts on these boxes but you're not going to get discounts on the stuff inside the boxes if you buy them individually so ex yeah keep in mind um anyways there's so much going on yeah we're very very excited so things are picking up as we go into the summer we have uh lots of games next week we've got Brian pulling is going to be in town I'm going to play him on Tuesday with a Fel hammer versus TOA you're going to play him on Thursday grey nights versus AST mil charm with Shadow sword and then reminder Saturday we won't have a live show but we will have a show for you um and we're going to we're going to be looking at some deceptor action so
