hey everyone it's been a minute well a month for that matter sorry for no uploads a lot's been going on in my life like improving my personal life and going to mississippi comic con recently i met tara strong but regardless of that i'm back and going to make videos regularly now the undertale song ranking is taking longer than expected so i decided to make a quick video on something i know a lot about and after recently seeing zoom's likes identifying luck videos and growing up on one of these games you only grew up on six bronze you haven't played the other three nearly as much i know jen but i think i can briefly talk about mario party on the gamecube since i own all of them and know a lot about these games so let's talk about gamecube mario party and why they were so good mario party started on the n64 with three entries from february of 1999 to december of 2000. these three games helped solidify mario party as a game to have sleepovers to parties to just playing by yourself mario party did it all the first one was a good introduction to the series but nowadays it's kind of hard to play especially with multiplayer no items not much on the boards the boards are low quality images not that many mini games and only six characters too and don't even get me started on their computers putting them on easy they are still broken i don't know how the developers didn't see that but i can put that aside because it was the first game and they did improve on it two or three shout outs to simpleflips it's often regarded as the best one and three while not talked about that often i do enjoy seeing as well another reason why i don't think they hold up as well is because of the level of crappiness due to the technical limitations of the time but i don't see that as a problem myself you don't need good graphics to make good games like i've said in a previous video look at undertale that's right i'm still talking about that game and teenage robot on top of it it's just that the n64 era of games were the first stepping stones of 3d and it'd take a whole generation of consoles to actually get 3d down they tried their best with what they had and what they made was a damn fine place to start with the series of mario party and a new generation of consoles and games and with more storage and power we got four wonderful games out of it mario party 4 the first one on gamecube and a lot of people's first exposure to mario party not too many though considering how poorly the gamecube sold this game's main idea was character-based boards with the characters actually being the host for each board too the board layout looks the worst to me out of the four it's a nice graphical upgrade from the n64 but you can tell they didn't have it down perfectly that's just wonderful it's a nice graphical upgrade from the n64 but you can tell they didn't have it down perfectly the aesthetics are nice but all the spaces are on a gray conveyor belt looking floor but they do implement some board aesthetics to the space layout so it's more than acceptable the spaces on the other hand i feel could have been done better and some board specific things aren't the best looking at you toad's midway madness the over abundance of mushroom spaces is kind of odd too along with many mini game spaces and pipes only being accessible if you're mini it's a little balancing with all the mushroom spaces but not the best if there were more happening spaces on these boards i'd give it more leeway but instead we get a bunch of mushroom spaces that clog up your inventory more often than not it's still fun but it's definitely something you'd have to get used to the character lineup isn't the best with only eight the least out of the four seeing dk playable in this game but not on the other three will take you by surprise if you don't know that since he has his own space in the other three man dk sucks now compared to what he used to be in these games but yeah nobody's special in this game that's playable except for dk if you're not expecting him the mini games for mario party 4 though is where the game shines in my opinion that goomba got some mad style points for getting some put although it has the least of the four in terms of minigames this game like the others has some of the best minigames in mario party book squirm is the first one i think of no question i talk about single player modes in these games but who loads up these games nowadays to play anything other than party mode you think i'm gonna load up mario party 6 and go oh boy i'm really in the mood for some mic mode no they were good for the time but nowadays not so much making your own mini game set though is a nice feature i'm surprised they've never brought back since overall i'd say mario party 4 is still a great mario party that puts a lot of mario party games nowadays to shame but we'll get to that later you know i'm actually thinking about making another series aside from let's talk about minor tail boss battle videos about stuff a certain time period later and mario party 4 is 20 years old this year i'll be back for you this year game just you wait mario party 5 just like mario party oh i already did that this game improves on its predecessor and moresome instead of making your own mini games you now have card party but i'll play that over amiibo mode any day of my lifetime the game's main gimmick is based off of one of the most mistreated games nintendo ever made super mario rpg juno for smash oh yeah and waluigi this game also removes items as items and turns them into capsules which have made it easy to figure out what capsules did what even though there's no shops to buy the capsules at they all come from a machine at random and that does take out a strategic part of mario party since you can't choose what orbs you get but it's the first time with capsules don't down their throat about it even though you know you can still use capsules in ways you probably didn't want to why can you make a mushroom a space i don't want mushroom spaces covering the board again oh speaking of spaces not only do you get more interactive spaces in this game but you now get dk spaces on top of bowser spaces and there's even a chance if you land on bowser dk will stop him and bowser will let you off the hook and just take some coins i like that idea and i wish they'd have kept it in later games with the dk space you can get mini games that you get coins from and such to counter bowser's face in this game but that means you can't play as dk in the game but we got a better lineup this time in dk's absence we now have three new playable characters being toad boo and koopa kid this gives us a good amount of playable characters for the boards compared to the last one now onto the boards these boards have not only implemented themselves into the theme of it but now have happening spaces to help immerse yourself into these boards even more this makes the boards much more memorable than four because of all the diversity in the board instead of just going to parts of what looks like a conveyor belt you get to go around environments in the board and picking a path feels better now than it did before because there are different paths instead of the same level path each time so far everything is going good for five and i haven't even talked about the mini games yet many good mini games in this one and there's more than there was in four too chomp romp coney island leaflet pushy penguins and hotel goomba i love hotel goomba i can't praise this game with its mini games being so memorable and fun five or six are often regarded as having the best ones but we'll get to six in a second for now i'd say mario party 5 was not only a good step in the right direction for the series but a staple game in the series as a whole mario party 6 was the first mario party i ever played my aunt and uncle got it for me and is in my opinion the best mario party game to date in place of card party you get a thing called mic mini games mario party 6 and 7 came with a microphone where you can use a microphone or your controller to give commands in certain mini-games it's a new one i like it this game's gimmick is based off of a board's gimmick and mario party 2 with day and night cycles on each board that changes parts of the map and mechanics of the map too everyone who's played this game knows fair square is the most broken map in the game now we have capsule shops on top of it thank goodness and the prices and options of the orbs depend on what place you're in too we also have new lines from each character compared to four and five which is another welcome addition hearing waluigi go good choice instead of wang luigi was odd to get used to when playing four and five since i played six all the time damn i got those impersonations good on the first try you know what screw it i'm meeting charles martiney in september i guess i'll cosplay as waluigi we got a new character this time around being toadette i love toadette so playing as her this soon in the series was a surprise to me in a good way also we got a new bonus star too but sadly no hidden blocks this time around that's the only complaint i have about this game the boards in this game are very unique from each other as well some have specific star spaces some don't have stars and make you steal stars from others some you can buy 5 stars for 25 coins looking at you again fair square and two boards even have dk or bowser on the board and give or take a star based on which one you come across lots of unique features including dual spaces on these boards with less capsule categories and shops you can see why i like this one the most and i haven't even talked about the mini games we have more mini games than the previous two and despite the unresponsiveness and lack of equality in the mic the mini games are a welcome addition with the controller i couldn't name off all the mini games i love but what i can say is that some of the mini games are affected based on which cycle the game is on if you're on the night cycle on a board your mini game is going to be at night if it can attention to detail something i used to enjoy seeing nintendo because now attention to detail in modern nintendo just upsets me there are tons of mini games i love in mario party 6. i've played smash dance too many times to enjoy it now though but there's many others i love catch you letter circuit maximus granite getaway lift leapers odd card out i always pick a random button in that one nowadays note to self same as lame snow world dust hill dawn snow brawl what goes up again too many to name if you didn't then can you see now why i love this game so much in my opinion mario party 6 is not only the mario party i grew up with but the mario party that seems to do just about everything right and the few things it doesn't do more than makes up for it with other things mario party 7 is fine i have it i've played it more than four or five but i can't really remember that much from it the maps are based on different parts of the world and the map i remember the most probably has to be neon heights i've played it more recently for this video and after playing it a little bit i used to remember the windmill one the most but now i've played neon heights enough like that is probably my favorite map in the whole game even if there's a one in three chance you can get a star that's it's kind of crappy but the map's more than big enough to make up for it that being said it does have good maps but nothing that memorable like the others i'm not saying it's a bad just nothing too unique this game koopa kid took a back seat and now has his own space in his place we get two new characters to mario party being dry bones and birdo this was kind of the indication that koopa kid was going out the door in favor of bowser jr but they didn't want to toss him out just yet this makes seven have the biggest cast of characters to play as at 12 with toadup being unlocked from the start on like six yeah you did have to unlock her in six but that's a minor complaint the boards to this game do have some good things in them but i can't for the life of me remember anything specific even playing it now for this video nothing really stuck out to me i know them but there's nothing that unique about it i didn't like how duels were made to where you can't decide what to do over and there's even a chance you get nothing on top of it i do remember bowser time though i won't forget that but i can't say the same for many games in seven i do remember there being eight player mode that i do remember very specifically and it has the most mini games up to that point and the most for a long time they didn't catch my eye like many games from the others did again i just can't remember anything that noticeable from this game i know i enjoyed it but it just wasn't enough for me to call it amazing just great even with that though i know mario party 7 is a great mario party far better than any mario party that's been out in the last 10 years and he's still a welcome entry into the series and a good final send-off to the mario parties on the gamecube so this is all the mario party games on the gamecube if i had to rank them from best to worst or amazing to least great it'd be six five seven and four i do like seven more than four on me all you want even if i don't like the board design of four the capsule randomness of five the no hidden blocks in six and the fact that i can't remember much from seven i still love going back to these mario parties because well they're amazing that's more than i could say about any newer mario party games and more than i can say about modern nintendo as a whole i mean it's like i say on social media plug right there ninten doesn't care anymore they know they can do whatever they want and they'll always make a profit from it since there's gonna be zombie-minded kids and die hard way too loyal fans that will blindly buy anything they out nintendo knows this and uses it to their advantage look at mario striker's battle league that's probably a big reason why nintendo hasn't released many n64 in gamecube era games now because it makes modern nintendo look bad i mean look at superstars it adds little to nothing to mario party it's just a reskin of better mario party games because they don't want you to realize that older nintendo is much better because like i say again ninten doesn't care anymore i'm gonna go too far into this if i go any further maybe i'll make a video on it one day if not go see emperor lemon's video called sacrifices the church of nintendo and go check out dimitri's channel in general that video and that channel explain it better than i ever could in this video and regardless of all that if you don't like me briefly going over all of these i will go into further detail down the road but feel free to tell me what you loved about these four games and yes everyone knows nine and ten or horrible we know i wanna thank you guys for watching thanks to jen for helping me make this video and as always take care and have a good one [Music] you
