Let's Play Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Blind 4 - The Shrouded Woodlands

oh good you're up are you ready to get started you're finally getting curious about those seals huh I was hoping you would be but you see I had to explore the Dreamland a bit more before I had my first major breakthrough in The stred Woodlands you know if we could get all the hearthians here we could live seems like there's resources here I think that's a wrong takeaway to have but like it's what I keep thinking of got to figure things out or just find out more things that don't make sense to me and be like it'll it'll all come together at some point reading these and try to be better about reading things aloud symbol room a secret room filled with wooden containers marked with different symbols three of the containers are marked with glowing Vault Symbols but their contents have been burned away I opened the container marked with the symbol of a burning slide Rail and found a vertical sequence of symbols inside of a burning slide rail interesting wonder where we find that burn side Rael H yeah well it's saying Cinder ISS I've found everything and then Starlet Cove seems like I got everything there but I haven't figured out the endless canyon yet shrouded Woodlands there's more to explore here oh yeah I need to go back to that and figure things out sealed Vault a slide reel appear around the strange Vault yeah so and then the reservoir I haven't figured everything out the Cliffside building also I haven't figured out there's more to explore in the river lowland so we're going to go there seems kind of easy to explore and then after that if I'm feeling up for it we'll go to the area in the dream world with all the people wandering around determined to put out my light yeah and then there's slide reel but are there any or a slide projector but are there anything in here that I can project ooh I wonder if we should open that here and then be able to go into it in the other area broken light that's actually a good theory Becca we're going to do that since I opened it there there we're going to cross we're going to see if that's right cuz I don't get why that's a door there and I'm like there has to be a reason that door is there has to okay and now we're going to see if opening that door there corresponds to anything here [Music] is there a fast way across for me so these people just never ever fall in the water then that was a really dramatic sound wait but where's the thing okay okay and then oh there it is oh no that's the damn isn't it oh no oh no oh no oh no no we're going to go back we're going to we're going to meditate and then come back here now that I figured out something okay and then we extinguish that's how we get those lanterns out where is this I think it's right here oh and then we light this I bet or not oh heck yeah come here come here little thing you're not one that I've already used are you okay now we're on a journey okay we've gone there ooh is that the endless Canyon again what is that [Music] music can I make that jump h there's something up here oh this is the island Tower does this take us to the different areas oh if we keep going will we get to the Cliffside one this is a transport let's keep going and then this is the CLI side building one ooh I wonder if we put out lights here what happened oh what are you oh you just summoned another one of these what am I [Music] doing like what is this cannot figure out this I know this is a teleport now or a transport I bet this will take us back to well it might take us to the dam actually let's see but it should go in a [Music] here and that appears they take it and they move it out of this area go okay we kind of already saw the other side of that I guess it's just if you didn't see that one already wonder why they did that or is somebody well why are the chains I was like is it just somebody who's dead and they're protecting the body but the end of the day I just's come back to why are there chains on that and now if my guess is right we're going to be back to the first area I don't know if this is the first area or not I think it is so the purpose of opening that door is entirely just around getting the boats to go to different areas why would we want the boat to go to different areas I like get some motion sickness issues with games which is bad whenever you know like space stuff is your favorite that's made worse for whenever I start kind of losing my sense of direction which is hard and dark areas like this it's not the game's fault just is making it a little difficult for me I might have to like build in more breaks for the recordings of it lighting up stuff does help though I feel like my need to light all the lights is going to come back to haunt me at some point but how far can we go before they notice us oh closed door this turn around now we're good okay so they open the doors themselves I don't think we're supposed to just like be on it that when they go in maybe we are you know what we're going to follow him no we're not ow okay just going to no if if if this thing turns around I'm just going to be [Music] like no oh we could follow them in maybe where are we going bud I just wondering oh yeah this place is interesting looking isn't it we're just exploring right now we're just explorers Adventures out there two friends two Pals going cave spunking oh we get to go to concert oh my God bestie you're taking to us a con us to a [Music] concert oh look at like how their form looks like a hand that was a shadow they're probably going to turn around at some point and I have to preempt when they turn but also only way to know it is to get caught so I'm probably going to jump whenever I get caught cuz it's just going to kind of be unexpected but I don't really care oh and then they're going to go in we can probably follow why' they stop do they know I'm here who are you oh oh yeah hey there oh there's a bunch in here that's kind of cute okay so we can follow them into the concert they don't seem to notice us until we're like right there all the music does stop which indicates the opposite I like their little weird concert thing they look so mean and they're like I don't know they're kind of cute okay they're not violent H damn maybe they're all patrolling this thing cuz they know the Supernova is about to happen but they don't have all I haven't seen any signs that they have their Tech in this stream maybe the other aliens that these ones that the strangers have encountered have been hostile or they don't want us interrupting anything before the Supernova because they know that the superno is about to happen and that their ship should take them out of the area anyway so we should theoretically still be safe so they don't think they're doing anything bad and they really aren't like I I'm like kicking us out seems fair enough they don't know who we are I'd kick us out especially like if they want to be in this thing I don't know if I agree with putting yourself into a dream past death but that's kind of their own choice isn't it okay if this fails this time I'm going to go to the left do they stop when this person goes [Applause] in oh the door closes excuse me everybody I liked the music you were playing I just wanted to be part of things you know never really get a chance to be part of stuff in this way oh y'all do make sounds no no no all so we go to the left thanks for the ride Bud appreciate is that another person coming yep got me about to be caught yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so what are we up to today in the game so I could keep working on figuring out the the the concert I don't know I kind of want to figure out the concert there's also I could try like if I get stuck on a concert again maybe I just go and when I already slept in front of that other one H I might double check my ship's logs in a second here there's the cliff side building the endless Canyon submerged structure the sealed Vault River lowlands Reservoir the shrouded Woodlands there's more to explore here um okay we'll keep looking at that we'll keep looking I'm at the point of the game still I don't have like a strong like this is what I should be doing right now like I think I'm just supposed to find all of the codes to open the sealed Vault but I feel like I'm missing something with the weird concert going on even though it says it doesn't say anything about it okay is there anything no there's no clear thing down there I feel like I figured out the firstest or the easiest thing first in these worlds with the light puzzle and everything and then this one is distinctive distinctly less straightforward maybe I should slight more candles over here and explore it more yeah y'all are doing your cute little concert I'm aware of that we're just not welcome at it that's cool H I feel like these are important somehow it's like there's always chairs sitting and observing stuff maybe they're just hanging out and fishing and I'm just thinking about it too much I got too close ah all right do I have to go this way oh no we're going to explore this area more right now you might be like Becca are you mad no I'm not mad I'm Becca it says we're missing something here we've kind of looked at all of the little building I'm wondering if there's like a secret little entrance into the area at the bottom like there was a secret little entrance into the other place I don't know where anything is maybe we have to get up we're going to try getting up okay well we have to wait a sec and we wait again okay okay is it around the back of the building or maybe we can get on top of the building it's on top of the building there's nothing here okay yeah that's not it okay so we learned nothing on this loop I think I think I'm giving up on that one it's just like there I don't know how you get past them when there's that many all the time maybe okay I'm going to go to the island Tower area Dream Land cuz that one at least gets me more time in the dream world because the lowland one ends the second that the Dam breaks I that's a big thing I'm going to go there and at least I can spend longer cuz I'm really like the last few Loops I've just basically spent 11 minutes there and like well but maybe I can go there and take the little raft back still no idea on the uh Cliff side I'm guessing the cliff side that there's something on the dream side that like I turn on a light and it gives me access oh we also need to grab an artifact before I forget come on thank you but that that's that's the goal now it's going to be an exploratory I'm not going to try to figure things out I'm just going to see if there's more things to see that I haven't yet in the dream world that's what I'm telling myself to get through this time of me feeling a little hard stuck on this little area right now and then I don't know how to get to the cles I feel like we're fine we're fine I'm hoping they give us a hint somewhere about it I'm used to the game being like giving a hint for something in a different spot you know like it'll talk about the high energy lab and other spots of the game to let you know to go there so I'm hoping that they're like oh yeah the Cliffside building elevator that is really obvious when you're aware that it exists if that's an elevator I'm going to be really delighted with myself I bet it is an elevator cuz they actually have those oh is this no that's that wasn't the dam there's a scarier sound why does the scary sound happen when the dam happens I'll point it out when we hear it h oh this has a gap here and there's usually not a gap here uhoh uhoh okay we found something how do we not die doing that that was an elevator wasn't it that was an elevator and then this has to be enough these plates are all elevators there's an elevator outside the Cliffside building in the land there is an elevator I I don't know how to get it down but like the plate means elevator from what I understand all right so what I'm going to do is each Loop I'm going to this Loop I'm exploring this place the next Loop I'm going to explore the endless Cannon place the next next Loop I'm going to explore the other one and the other third the fourth one I'm going to explore the next one you know but from here cuz I'm only getting like half of a loop in if I do the river lowlands and maybe something change it like why is this a why is a Time Loop important here why is the dam important in the dream world those are the questions I have right now cuz sunless City like in brittle Hollow the two most important places in the game besides the vessel we're very time based in Ashwin so time has to be relevant here another path it's going to lead to the same same spot this is just a loop to Loop oh there's a little guitar okay that's the damn sound H thought there was a creepy sound that PA it but whatever that that what is that sound I don't know what that sound is is it these people are they making this it doesn't sound like an elk though and they make elk sounds I think something happens when the damn breaks in here but I'm I'm not sure what it is so I'm hoping if I go through every area post dam breing I'll see an obvious change so we're going to go look at the elevator base wonder if I should look at it real life too well the cliff side I think the cliff side if I have to make a guess I think the cliff side's actually the one that well it doesn't matter the island Tower goes right up until the end music starts which I guess is sometime the sealed Vault changes it becomes revealed I wonder if that's important we'll see in a second and the river lowlands also they don't they like get completely destroyed okay we're going to go stare at this hello little thing up there okay that's definitely an elevator plate but there's not an obvious way up there so I guess this is just if you want to go between the lands once you're already there so I guess that points too the access point is in the real world which makes sense we're going to have to eventually get there I was just thinking maybe we do something in this world that lets us get there in the real one then we'll see if the sealed Vault looks any different does it oh well I guess I guess none of the water level actually changes here I'm just a dumb dumb oh wait we can extinguish these oh we can change where this goes can't we if we like if we do this will it go left instead or is it on a set path we can change the pathing I mean I don't know where that's useful but this is a discovery that we've made for some reason didn't click for me that we could do that which place are we in is this a new place um can't tell where we're [Music] at where is this oh a door do we need to extinguish this to open this door no hm how do we make it further along oh oh wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait this is come here we didn't open it unfortunately this is the the lowlands they have that door that you got to open how do you have to be open that from somewhere else I guess all of them aren't ible really unless you do something else somewhere in the loop wait turn turn this off turn this off this does not change the direction does it okay so I guess if I want to explore this one after the Dam breaks where's the music maybe we just can't hear it this far away so if we want explore this area after the does anything change but gu keep coming back to why do we need the raft actually this is a oh oh oh I think we're done I think we're done wait they're all the sound happened again oh and we put this here oh Your Flames go out out in the real world huh are they still in there I've never paid attention before to them besides like in the other world what happens if their Flames go out cuz like they're dead they're like super duper dead I just assume since they died in there they stayed there what if they don't um that could be the screaming sound is there Flames going out we have to we okay okay the plan the plan now cuz we hear the screaming sound the first time and that's when the damn first breaks and that's when it hits the river lowlands oh this building just gets knocked over it's not like the water level rises more I don't think um we're going to go to the river lowland area first we're going to unlock it so we can take a ship back there then we're going to go to the island Tower and go to sleep there and then go back to the lowland area and wait for the dam to break and just see if they die I don't know if they die I don't know what happens to them and then if this all turns out to be a thing that'll be really exciting I don't know what I'm hoping actually okay if they die can I go into the music build I don't want to go into the music building if it's a bunch of little sad corpses I don't think they're bad I think they were real angry about the eye stuff but that's a valid response to finding out about the end of the universe being in your lifetime I'd be mad so I hope they're not dying cuz well they are dead I hope they're not extra super dying cuz that seems sad H this is going to be tricky to time cuz I want to follow the oh I'm going to just like watch them from here until the damn breaks because if I follow one all the way back it's actually kind of hard to escape their notice but I don't have any idea how long until the Dam breaks if the dam could just break in the next 5 Seconds that'd be cool I'll follow them until they get to the steps [Music] I really want the dam to break right now I'm so I'm like dying to know if I'm right every time I hear a creek too I'm like is that it is that the thing that's it okay okay everybody everybody hold Dan temptation to like show the light too so I can see them they did die oh where is where I'm supposed to go now so they vanish and then I could probably go in the building if none of them are in the building if I can find the building okay so we have a new problem this might have been the we discover the thing oh there it is there it is oh they just disappear so they all die I assume this was their plan to get out of the end of the universe and then the damn breaks and they're dying before the end of the universe anyways are they all gone here too and the music's gone boom it's kind of sad I don't know I liked when they had the happy music going I'm just going on the theory that I don't think they're actually bad cuz it's kind of not the vibe of the game to give us bad things wow we got just explore this whole area this building's smaller than I anticipated s is there a creepy hand for us somewhere H okay well we have made progress I don't know what's in here I'm going to can I jump down okay don't do that again that's one area is there another area like is there something right here excuse me let me behind this little little area no I think what I saw was actually important so we're going to go around the outside again I feel so I don't I'm like I feel good about being right but at the same time I don't know how to feel about our friends our friends not friends dying make sure they it's something in here that I'm missing there's like wow look at her running around this building that didn't matter at all ooh candles we're we're going to put out the candles candle candle I don't know why we did that the flame feels suspicious I might die doing this but oh I was like we jump up through the hole is only green flame damaging well the flame was suspicious I did think that it was going to damage me at least wa oh oh this is music oh and my artifact can be a slide projector no we need a side Rael we need a side reel oh right there oh there's so many crap come here come here come here shove you in and we'll use the interface oh no I hear the water okay so yeah the I submitted a signal oh and they were studying the universe they heard the signal they were like waa dope signal whoa oh y'all come here there's this ridiculous thing we're going to name it the eye of the universe they would be besties with oh they they used all of their resources to make this planet and they left their home World they came over [Music] here and that's how they found oh wow that's so I feel bad for them [Music] come here we got real limited time I think so we got to look fast okay and then oh and this is the dream they oh oh is it it's a simulation it's not a dream this looks very very like a game kind of thing intentionally oh but if they get if they get in the W out of bounds in the water the simulation ends yeah okay okay this thing okay so they burned it too how did they burn all of them why did they is it to make sure nobody can get there but there has to be clues for us to get to this I guess the nice thing is even if I found all the slide rails I can access that I'm looking again [Music] is it saying that once they do that if they leave while in the dark that they disconnect I can't tell if that means that they lose the dream they're connected everything's good they're connected to the simulation so maybe we need to jump off while in the loading area yeah it's all happy it's everything's good while they go through them jumping off leads to bad things so the next step will be to jump off between the things I guess we could go try it right now but we have to make it all the way back I'm also just trying to see if there's anything I want to go up here let me up to get these other slide reels it seemed very important mine is this burn burnt it's so thorough of them to burn all of it I totally thought we would see the codes in here this might be totally it might just be them explaining what disconnects is simulation but also it might be that there's something interesting with jumping off man is there anything else in here I always am so anxious about getting to this kind of place and then leaving it I can't wait to try jumping off in the middle of the loading area though maybe that's how we get to the Cliffside building everything comes back to the Cliffside building um I need my baby actually thank you thanks I can't believe they like just took their entire planet's resources to get to the eye I that's probably why they were pretty pissed when they found out what it was cuz they're like wao we we put everything on here we can't go back to where we were from and this thing is just going to really good about that but also like figure that out but also I miss getting the cute no my writings in a way like these are like creepy slide reels and I'm like oh yeah we're supposed to ascertain stuff from this wonder if we can look into their buildings those doors were closed closed though we're going to try we can oh crap I want to look in these I want to look in these so badly they are these cute little houses it's a little house it's all cute there's not much in the cute little house and they have like more of those to rest in so I guess they sleep in those instead they sleep standing up it's kind of weird and yeah and they sleep here too oh it's a whole family little baby creepy thing you haven't seen any of the baby creepy things and that's them playing their little triangle chest as creepy as these people are I'm just like it's not in the theme of the game to have like a whole alien race be evil so I just don't think I think it's going to be a sad reveal whatever's going on here I'm just like we're going to find out something really tra like they're all dying but it's tragic and sad maybe I've just processed it enough like well you're done either way it's the end of the universe I would love to be able to read their writing well so you could even just have their names I've been spoiled oh take me back I went and looked in those buildings the last time so continuing to lose hope that I'm going to be able to try the loading dock thing oh maybe I should have just died and we go back in and we wake up and we go up this would have been faster than me wandering around everywhere but we got to look in their houses which is go damn damn damn no no no no no no no no no no just run run faster okay that's the first thing we're trying though let me in cool thing a library full of intact slide rails hidden deep underground but frustratingly our hearthat will not jump or try to grab at the Cliff's Edge enough for us to see the rest of them anyways there's a container marked with one of the Vault seals but its contents have been destroyed I found a slide re that shows the origin of The Stranger in its inhabitants intact slides reveal the sacrifice that was made to build the stranger I found a slide reel that appears to be some sort of error report it shows one of the stranger inhabitants jumping off a raft during a transition between areas and falling below the world yeah yeah that that's the most this game is like go do this go do this I'm so curious where we're going to go I hope it's not scary and now we wait speed forward my child my my Noble Ste that's why this takes so long [Music] oh is this glitched this is glitched huh and we go to the weird out of bounds hello there okay but it's not about knowing the code it's about going around and turning these things off that's metal the code was all giant well I feel the codes are still important okay I'm going to say the codes still feel important to me we're going to we're going to go we're going to go do this now I'm going to make myself lunch unless it gets really really really really intense well now we have to figure out where the other ones are oh maybe don't go that way so we put out that one where is the other ones oh wait but you're on again right one of you is on no you're still off they all have to be facing it though oh is this the Forbidden archive it is so they all feed into this area what's that like light up there uh wait wait wait do we need to go to the out of bounds for different loading zones okay we'll try try that next after I see that H oh is that a hand well and we can go back and forth here and we pull one of the lights out now what hello Okay jump in we're going to go raft through the other areas to see if we get different loading Zounds I could see us going back to the same area but we won't know until I try I still am not sure if Opening space vampire coffin good idea but it's clearly something we got to do is something scary chases us well that was my own fault no same area I guess this is just the clue for how we break the first one and maybe we have to figure out all three's Clues I think that might be kind of it for hints that we get on that like that one that's how we get rid of one seal maybe I missed something about the other one well we found our way into that room that one time we should be able to look at the projector slides I'm just wanted to figure out where I'm supposed to go all right if we're going to look at this side really fast hopefully it doesn't go too fast for us might be more useful to do this when the water level's lower uhoh go right ship log updated I found a new thing I've just never gone right drop and and let me in yes we found a new thing I found a new thing yes yes yes yes um trying to decide what way would be most advantageous Cliff side building Cliffs side building Li side building okay we're not going into the a dream world of that right now and then what's this over here have I even gotten into those I don't know if I have can I make that jump okay y there's only one way to know if you can make a jump sweet oh and then there's flame Flames no no no no [Music] fine fine you will let me go there we'll figure it out though we know where we're going next you can't stop us except for the end of the universe my zombies [Music] lately but it is an ele oh send this elevator down we send this elevator down and it will it will let us probably it'll probably mirror to getting wait no it does not matter cuz we can just literally come back here we know how to get here now is it only after the damn breaks that we can make it up cuz that no I think we should still be able to we'll see we can figure it out again oh um and here we are oh and this one's broken oh it all comes together now is there anything in here there's a back door don't mind me just continuing on like the end of the universe didn't just happen fine yeah CL our building
