this is the Lenovo Legion go why am I in a parking lot I'll tell you more about that later PC handhelds have existed for years before the steam deck but the steam deck started a revolution that has since motivated laptop manufacturers to join the scene and bring their own handhelds to Market Asus of course released the rlg Ally in June and now Lenovo is the latest brand to the scene with the launch of their highly anticipated Lenovo Legion go and that's good news not just because it shows that the niche is growing but also because on paper the legion Go's feature set is ambitious and Innovative more so than most handhelds in the space I don't know if they have an advantage given that they have so much experience manufacturing laptops or if they felt that they had to be ambitious and Innovative in order to even have a chance in now this crowded field of PC handhelds either way the FPS mode is something that really sets this handheld apart because it gives you access to a real Mouse you can detach the controls flip the switch slip the right control into the accompanying base face and now you have access to a full-fledged and uncompromising mouse this combined with the nature of being a Windows handheld means that it can potentially serve an audience that no other handheld is currently serving people that are really into online Shooters the steam deck has good non-traditional controls for aiming and Shooters if you have the wherewithal to unlock its potential but many online games are still not compatible with Steam OS due to their anti cheets other handhelds may have Windows but they lack reasonable aiming mechanics the Legion go is the first handheld to do both if it sticks to landing and even if it does what if you're not someone that fits that Niche within a niche how about the rest of us is this a worthwhile device in this PC handheld scene or is it just trying to bank on the trend those are the questions I'm going to tackle in this review but first I need to go pick mine up from where Micro Center so I'm here over a week early to pick up my Lenovo Legion go at Micro Center and they have agreed to sponsor this this video which is amazing because I actually have a few reasons you're going to want to go with Microcenter if you do plan on picking one of these bad boys up number one they have 26 stores Across the Nation and they have a few more openings soon including one in Charlotte North Carolina of course the nice thing is if you do want to pick up a Lenova Legion go once you get here all you have to do is just pick one up and they're going to have an endcap display where you can actually try one out for yourself and of course that's one of benefits of picking this up in store not to mention if you do have any issues can just utilize their 15-day return policy by the way they also have Associates here that going to help you with tough questions like how does it compare to the steam deck can I upgrade my SSD and in fact they can upgrade the storage for you either up to one tbyte or 2 terabytes which is pretty nice finally while you're here you can pick up any accessories like SD cards thumb sticks controllers arcade sticks if you want to basically they've got everything you need for your Lenova Legion to go and if you're a firsttime customer you can even get this 3D printer for only $99 so be sure to check out Microcenter thank you Microcenter for sponsoring this video so yeah like I said this Lenovo Legion go is actually from Micro Center Lenovo did not send me one at least not yet so this is from Micro Center which means that it is a full production full retail unit and I've had it for about a week and it seems like a lot of reviewers are getting it late and it feels like maybe something is going on as far as review units go but thankfully micr Center had it in stock and they were able to work with me so with the unboxing there are two compartments there is a compartment for the power brick and that is a 65 watt power brick there's no detachable cable there are no collapsable prongs and given the fact that the legion go does accept higher wattages than 65 Watts I kind of immediately started using a separate charger of course I did use the charger that came with it for testing but I did use a separate charger in my day-to-day I will say that this power brick was able to charge the legion go from 25 to 90% in about 45 minutes so it is pretty good but it was worthwhile for me to use my other one nonetheless the other component of course in here is the case the case comes in a paper sleeve a lot like the steam deck does and it has these cool zipper pulls and I guess I should note that this case really only fits the handheld itself it can't fit accessories like an SD card holder or even a power brick it does have the hockey puck or the base for FPS mode and a place to store the analog stick if you want to remove that while you're playing FPS mode but that's really all it can fit in here and then when you have the case closed there is the flap to charge the legion go I would not recommend using this at least not while your legion go is in sleep mode if you want to use it while it's shut off completely then cool that's that's no problem but if you use it while it's in sleep mode it may turn on the device and that can generate a lot of heat inside the case so overall I would recommend avoiding this Fe feature but if you're going to use it at least use it while the legion go is powered down all right as for the device itself it feels really nice in the hands in terms of size it is bigger than the steam deck it is bigger obviously than the rogg Ally it is smaller slightly than the io but it feels a lot lighter than the IUN even though the weight is pretty close to that I would say that just like the steam deck they really found a way to balance the ergonomics of this I think maybe just the fact that these detachable controllers have like a really pronounced bump for the grip I just find it all very comfortable and it helps make the device feel lighter than it actually is in terms of the feel there are two different textures the grips they do have a grippy texture they're not rough in any way it just kind of feels good in the hand otherwise it's this smooth matte plastic I will say the matte plastic does get fingerprints and smudges on it so that's something to watch out for the build quality though all of this is excellent build quality Everything feels durable the controllers don't have any give to them the hinge on the kickstand feels incredibly resilient and it goes back really far if we look at the io at the top of the device there are a few things to take note there is a power button of course and that power button has an LED that has the legion Go Logo but also this led changes color based on the power profile you're using now I think that's a neat way to show what you have selected for the rest of the top of the device there is a 3 1/2 mm headphone jacket there's an SD card slot a USB 4 port and a pair of volume buttons for plus and minus I do have one concern here and it is the fact that the SD card is at the top this proved to be a problem for the rogg Ally where the heat was being exhausted towards the top and seemingly that was damaging SD cards we don't know if it's going to be a problem here for the legion go but it is something to be aware of now on the bottom there is not much in terms of iio there is the one additional USB 4 Port you can't really use this when you're using the kickstand unless you have an angle bracket like this one I'll leave a link in the description but yeah I just thought I would mention that because it made it harder to use both of the ports at once now both of those USB 4 ports are Thunderbolt so they can connect to egpu unfortunately I don't have one it can also connect to displays and glasses and again these ports do charge from 25 to 90% in 45 minutes if you're using the default 65 wat charger and that was when I was in sleep mode so that's pretty good moving over to the back here we have the kickstand and I've already praised the build quality of this kickstand but yeah it it stands to mention again this is a really really nice kickstand it's durable and it's wide so you really don't have to worry about using it whether you're on an airplane or you want to break out FPS mode this is clearly something that they thought a lot about for this device on the front of course is the screen but there are dual microphones here at the bottom of the screen that's important to note in case you want to use those and then yeah let's talk about about this 8.8 in screen so this is an 8.8 in 1600p screen the steam deck is 7 in and 800p and the rlg Ally is also 7 in and 1080p so this is a significant upgrade when we're talking about size and resolution in the legion space menu you can quickly swap between 800p 1200p and 1600p for me I primarily stuck to 1200p I just found that to be a good balance especially if I was playing more demanding games I could use FSR performance or FSR balance and it would still look good on this screen now they Market this as 100% srgb color accuracy with over 500 nits Peak brightness now when it comes to brightness I did compare this to the Ally and the steam deck and when I compare it to the Ally the Max and the Min brightness really look about the same when I compare it to the steam deck though the max brightness looks the same but once again steam deck wins when it comes to minimum brightness this is something that's not that important to me but I know it is important to a lot of people out there that play in dim settings and really want displays that can have a minimum brightness that goes really really low in terms of color and saturation I thought the screen looks really good I thought it was comparable to the Rog Ali again in terms of color one place where it's not comparable to the allly is the fact that this is a native portrait display the allly is a native landscape display and that that really gives it a leg up thanks to the fox I verified that this was a portrait display by opening up custom resolution utility where it did show 1,600 by 2560 as opposed to the reverse and when I opened up Oddworld ab's Odyssey it crashed and that's a Telltale sign that this is a portrait display the last thing to note about this display is the refresh rate and the fact that it's not vrr so this is a 144hz display so the refresh rate is very very good and it does go a long way towards not necessarily needing vrr I would say having a variable refresh rate would be even better but in this case with the 144hz refresh rate I really didn't notice any screen tearing whatsoever and I would say that it was as responsive as the Ally was at least in practice when I was playing video games but I do know that is incredibly subjective and I know other people may feel a little bit differently on that that was just my experience of course if we're talking about the screen the next thing we have to talk about is the audio in terms of the speakers the quality is quite good but you did have to turn them up a bit they were quite low compared to say the r Ally but again the quality is good I'm going to show you some clips so that you can see kind of the comparison between the [Music] [Applause] [Applause] two are you ready play ball give me one [Music] me nothing like are you ready [Music] me the other part of the audio experience is the fan noise and certainly the fans made some noise but they felt comparable to the rlg and considering this is more performant than the RG and is P ing a larger resolution I would say the trade-off seems worth it but I'll let you listen for yourself moving on to controls there's a lot to talk about here first let's just talk about normal attached controls normal Al mode and the controllers are attached the analog sticks here are hall effect sticks that's great that means that you won't experience joystick drift and you can have really tiny dead zones that's wonderful what I would like to point out is that this d-pad is excellent one test that I've done recently is a crouching medium kick into a fireball especially as Ryu and it's much harder to do on iune and the steam deck for some reason but it's a really really trivial to do on the legion go so this is an excellent d-pad the face buttons are really good the start and select buttons are on the bottom left that still takes some getting used to I'm used to sort of the steam deck style the new thing you're going to get here is a legion L button and a legion R button and these sort of control the legion space software now this software is a little bit weird Legion L that button is going to bring up the full application where you can look at your library your settings go to the game store things like that the legion R button is supposed to bring up the little control panel on the right hand side but it also brings up this left-and side control panel if you press it once it's going to open up the control panel on the right if you press it again it's going to collapse the control panel on the right if you press it again it's going to bring up the control panel on the left and if you press it again it's going to collapse the control panel on the left resetting everything so that when you press it a fifth time it goes back to the control panel on the right so this is a little bit weird because if you just always want to open the right control panel which is what I want to do 99% of the time you have to press the button like three times to get there which is pretty annoying we'll talk more about these menus later but yeah that was a major annoyance for me so I thought I would communicate that now of course there are some really cool new things in terms of controls for the Lenova Legion go first but not least is the scroll wheel the scroll wheel is a little bit hard to get to especially if you're using the trackpad at the same time but the scroll wheel is really nice it even if you're just using this for Windows navigation it's really nice to be able to scroll at the fingertip really quickly and then of course if you're in like a first first person shooter then you can use that to switch weapons and things like that so this is a really handy addition then of course there is the trackpad which is a really welcome addition it is really low on the device but it does work fine for navigating windows it's just that being that low makes it so that a heart to reach scroll wheel is now even harder to reach so that's pretty annoying of course you can tap on the trackpad for a click or hold for a right click there are no gestures like using two fingers to scroll or anything like that but it's good enough this trackpad is not meant for gaming at all I mean you could use it like that but that's not what it's intended for it's very much this is the way you're going to navigate Windows they didn't include any way to navigate windows with the analog sticks like obviously the main way to navigate Windows is going to be this trackpad and that's why it's there then on the back and along the side there are some extra buttons there's the M2 button that's next to RB there is M3 and Y3 those are sort of horizontal next to each other and then on the other side are the y1 and Y2 and those are vertical next to each other these are easy to press maybe for some people they're going to be easy to accidentally press but I really enjoyed these especially in fps mode so you can map them to whatever you want but in fps mode by default the top vertical button is used to jump and the bottom vertical button is used to crouch so that is just really intuitive if you are playing a firstperson shooter another great feature here is that the gam pads are detachable and I've seen the 1X player 2 have detachable gam pads and it didn't really make sense there but here does make sense because of FPS mode of course the benefit is that even if you're not using FPS mode you can detach these and now you have a tablet for watching media and I surprised myself with how often I did that during this last week one thing I was hoping for was something like the joycon grip where you can attach these two little controllers you know in case you want to play this device docked or something like that there was a Lenovo engineer on the Lenovo Forum saying that they were working on this but that it wasn't a priority for them so I'm curious to see what comes of that of course all of this would just be a novelty if it wasn't for the killer feature of the Lenovo Legion go and I am talking of course about FPS mode a lot of people are going to see the FPS mode and think is it really worth it does it really stick to landing and I'm here to say FPS mode delivers it is intuitive and it is a real way to use a mouse on a handheld so yeah if you want to play a shooter or any Mouse oriented game all you have to do is detach the game pads enable FPS mode using the toggle on the bottom of the right game pad remove the right analog stick store that in the case take out the base and attach the right game pad to the base it uses magnets so it just slips right in and you're good to go yeah all in all it does take a little bit of getting used to but I would say it's rather intuitive I think the thing that takes the most getting used to is just the button mapping right so you can see the button mapping in the legion space software for example the LB button is mapped to R so you can reload or resume using that the LT button is for shift so you can Dash or run using that and then there are the y1 and Y2 buttons that I mentioned earlier the y1 is on top and you can use that to jump and the Y2 button is on the bottom and you can use that to crouch so this maping makes sense but it takes a while to really know which buttons are which as of right now Legion space gives you four different FPS mode profiles that you can swap between and you can map them however you want I hope that they allow us to create even more profiles if you want and somehow make it so that when you launch a game it switches to that profile automatically but this is a really good start also the mouse you can change the DPI settings right in here so you can go from 500 to 800 to 12200 or 1,800 I've been using this with ghostrunner 2 neon white Boomerang X and I feel really Adept at it already even though it's only been a week I think one of the things I did have to get used to was feeling confident that I could pick this thing back up and put it back down just like I would a normal Mouse also it did feel like as I was pulling the trigger like hitting the mouse one button my mouse would would move more than it would on a just a normal Mouse so yeah there are some quirks to get used to but I do really feel like this is a game changer if you're someone that wants to play Mouse based games on a handheld I don't know how large that audience is but I do know that I'm someone that really enjoys first person shooters and as a result I do expect to play most of my firstperson Shooters on the legion go from now on of course the problem is you probably can't necessarily use this in bed or on a couch while you're playing as you could on a handheld with trackpads but still I'm a big fan of this mode I'm glad they Incorporated it and it's clear that they spent a lot of time thinking about this and designing it by the way it also works really well for other Mouse based games like City skyline if you're someone that just bought City skyline 2 then of course this is going to be a natural fit for you but yeah just to reiterate I'm really happy they stuck the landing on FPS mode because it really is the thing that sets it apart from other handhelds and it doesn't feel Half Baked in the least like if you're someone that wants to play Destiny 2 or Counter-Strike or valerant specifically then this really feels like the definitive way to do that that on a small screen and it may be a niche within a niche but there is something to be said for the fact that they did it and they did it right all right now it's time to talk about performance benchmarks temperatures things like that and so it's important to note first of all that this handheld comes with the Z1 extreme Apu from AMD that's the same Apu that is in the RG Ally so the first thing I wanted to know is whether or not one of these devices it does a better job with that chip than the other but before we do that let me tell you about the presets here there are three presets and a custom mode so the quiet preset is about a 10 watt TDP the balance preset is a 15 watt TDP and the performance preset is a 20 wat TDP you can also go into custom mode and that'll allow you to set the preset anywhere between 5 and 30 Watts now I'm only one person and I do take these benchmarks seriously I I did about 100 tests but I did have to sort of focus what I was testing the first thing I wanted to test is what do you get as an increase from 15 watts to 20 WTS from the balance preset to the performance preset one more thing I want to add before showing you the benchmarks is that this is still pre-release software I'm testing the days leading up to release and there's likely to be a release day update that may improve performance even further so just keep that in mind as I am discussing these numbers and I'll say I think the improvements here are certainly worth it I would say that the performance mode is the sweet spot for this device if I look at Batman Arkham Knight it goes from 41 fps to 49 FPS Phantom Liberty goes from 18 fps to 28 returnal goes from 19 to 24 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider goes from 25 to 35 so these are all really significant up increases for only just 5 more watts of power usage so yeah I would say this is probably the mode you want to go with if you are playing more demanding games so with that knowledge I did want to see how much performance you gain by going up to 25 watts or 30 watts and as far as I could tell it was straddling my performance for some reason so on Phantom Liberty I wouldn't get more than 11 FPS Which is less than what I was getting on performance mode same thing for returnal I wouldn't get more than 10 and again that's less than I was getting and to be honest I'm not really sure why this is happening it wasn't throttled by temperature and as far as I could tell it was just using the maximum GPU so again I really don't know what's going on here but even if it wasn't throttling previous experience with these chips tell me that it really would be diminishing returns anyway and 20 WS really is the sweet spot for this device the next thing I tested was what you get out of plugging this device in and it seems like there is a really subtle Behavior to plugging it in for the most part you're going to get the same performance but it does seem like at least in the performance preset and when the device is plugged in the TDP is correlated to how much the battery is charged so in other words the base TDP for performance preset is 20 watts but if your battery is all the way charged and the device is plugged in you're going to see that TDP creep up 21 22 I've even seen as high as 25 as I was playing and looking at the benchmarks this wasn't advertised so I don't know if this is a behavior that they're going to keep but in my test it did seem consistent and I thought that was a smart way to just give a little extra juice while you're plugged in and finally we have to compare performance to the rlg Ally first let's look at the legion go balance preset against the rlg Ally performance preset both of these presets are a 15 wat based TDP one thing to keep in mind is that I couldn't do like for like testing because the games that I was testing didn't allow me to force a 1080p resolution even in windowed mode on the legion go so I had to test 1200p on the legion Go versus 1080p on the RG Ally so I did expect that when the TDP was the same that the RG Ally would have a bit of an advantage in benchmarks because it's just pushing fewer pixels and that is basically what happened at this 15 watt preset so for Batman Arkham Knight The Ally got 45 FPS and the legion go got 41 FPS Phantom Liberty 18 on the Ally and 18 on the legion go finally shadow of the Tomb Raider was 30 on the Ally and 25 on the legion go I couldn't test Ral on the Ally unfortunately it would just crash whenever I tried to modify graphic settings so I couldn't ensure that I was testing properly so yeah the Ally wins at this preset but the results for the next test are pretty interesting so let me tell you about them for the next round I tested the legion go in performance preset versus the rlg Ally in the turbo preset now what's interesting here is that there is a wattage difference the performance preset on the legion go is 20 watts and the Turbo preset on the Rog Ally is 25 watts again it's worth reiterating that these are not like for like test because the rlg Ally was tested in 1080P and the legion go was tested in 1200p so let me tell you those results for Batman Arkham Knight Legion go scored 49 and the Ally scored 51 for Phantom Liberty it was 28 versus 28 and for shadow of the Tomb Raider it was 35 versus 36 so while the numbers may lead you to believe that the rlg Ally wins you got to remember this is 20 watts versus 25 watts and this is 1200p versus 1080p So based on my test thing I would say the legion go wins in terms of performance you get keeping in mind the bump and resolution you get more performance out of the Legion go at 20 watts than you do out of the RG Ally at 25 watts couple that with a bigger battery and you just get more battery life out of the Legion go in essence you're going to get about 2 to 4 hours of battery life depending on what you're playing you can play a game like Phantom Liberty at FSR performance 1200p using the 15 wat preset and get about 2 hours of battery life you can place a l on default settings and get at least three and a half hours of battery life out of that and then if you're really really pushing it you're playing something like returnal you're playing medium FSR performance you set the TDP to 20 wats you're going to push 1 and 1/2 to maybe 2 hours of battery life on the high side in that way it does feel like a significant upgrade from the steam deck because the steam deck you get the same thing for 800p but here you're gaming at 1200p and you get about the same battery life and overall frame rate the last thing I'll note about performance are the temperatures and I will say I didn't test for this specifically I just kept Ane eye on the temps as I was doing benchmarks as I was playing the games and I'll just say I didn't see the temperatures creep up to above 60° C on anything I was playing everything seemed to stay relatively cool the fans were fairly loud they were noticeable for sure but everything did stay cool now in terms of hot spots there are basically no surfaces on the device that becomes hot to the touch the grips especially are going to be far from the heat but no matter where you touch everything is pretty much either cool or warm at the most actually one point I want to add that should be obvious to a lot of people that already have PCS but may not be obvious to someone that's getting a PC for the first time is that you should not lay this tablet down flat without the controllers controllers there add a little bump so that it gives a little space between the ventilation and whatever you're putting it down on but if you take the controllers off and you lay it down flat you're blocking all of the ventilation that that device has this of course could get the device really hot really quickly and cause it to turn off automatically so yeah just don't do that I just wanted to let you all know all right one thing I haven't spoken about too much is Legion space and navigating Windows just starting with navigating windows I did mention the trackpad and that is the primary and pretty much exclusive way to navigate windows by default you're not going to be able to move the cursor with the analog sticks so if you're going to want to click anything you have to use the trackpad of course you can use the scroll wheel as well the accompanying software is called Legion space and I'm going to say it could use Improvement but it is pretty good for being in a pre-release State first let's talk about the r menu which is the control panel on the right and this is pretty much the most crucial part of it so the first tab here is quick settings where you can adjust brightness and volume you can toggle Bluetooth and Wi-Fi you can set the resolution to either 800 1200 or 1600p you can change the refresh rate between 60 and 144 HZ you can swap to the different LED effects on your analog sticks and you can quickly see which gam pad mode you're in the next tab is the performance Tab and here you can see the battery status of the console and each of the controllers you can also get a quick glance at the system monitor so you can see CPU percentage GPU percentage things like that and likewise you can enable a display so you can see all of that in an overlay when you're playing a game so there are three presets for the display there's a simple a normal and an all I really just left it to all the entire time for many people that's going to give you most of what you're looking for the next thing you can set is of course the TDP between the four presets I told you about before quiet balance performance and custom and then the OS power mode which is performance balance and efficiency I left this on performance the entire time there's also an option here to toggle the full fan speed it's off by default next up are a couple options for productivity mode where you can set the external display as primary and you can choose to disable the touchpad if you want to or it's getting in your way I didn't find any issues where my palm was touching the touchpad but if you do find those issues this is a a quick and easy way to turn it off and finally here the last tab is just a help tab where you can go to The Help Center view the user manual go to online support and just look up Lenovo diagnostic Solutions if you do press that Legion R button two more times you're going to get the left menu menu honestly there's not a lot of reason for this to exist it does show you a list of things you recently played you can open up the full app from here check your downloads your legion space downloads open up photos and look at the settings and of course just power this down if you want to this menu is fine it just got into way more times than not because most of the time I just wanted to open up the r menu but half the time you press the legion R button you're either going to get the L menu or the r menu so that's just why it was more annoying than it was helpful if you press the legion L button the full Legion space software is going to pop up here you can view your library go to game stores open up settings there are deals on games here and apparently they are exclusive deals for Lenovo Legion I'm going to be honest I didn't feel compelled to really look at anything here when I did peruse it I didn't see any deals that were mind-blowing real quick if you go to the library option you're going to see all the games you've installed from the different stores I want to note here that the boxr is lower resolution than I would have expected it's fine it just doesn't look particularly good I don't know how how much I care about that but I know some people do really the most important part of Legion space is the settings menu a lot of what's here is also on the r menu but I do want to go to the controller section here you can update the controller firmware you can change the button mapping and they also show a function short key which is helpful here there are some helpful shortcuts aside from the stuff that we've already discussed you can hold the legion L button to turn off the left controller or turn it on you can do the same for the right controller and the R button you can hold the legion button and press y to change the tvdp mode so this is going to change between those presets that we talked about before or you can press Legion L and X to get a window screenshot or Legion l and a to do control alt delete and one of my favorites of course is Legion L plus b to get the onscreen keyboard finally you can press Legion L plus up or Legion L plus down to change the intensity of the force feedback you can either increase it or reduce it from here and I mentioned it earlier but back in the controller section I do want to stress that you can change the button mapping profile you can do a lot there and you'll have different profiles for the gam pad mode and the FPS mode so this is just helpful for whatever extra buttons you want to map so this has been a longer video than I anticipated and it's time to bring it home with my final thoughts I want to tell you about sort of my pros and cons the biggest Pro for me is the FPS mode I think this is a game changer if you're into these sort of games and you're just not going to get something else like this out there I'm someone that just got ghost Runner 2 and I can't wait for celico I need to get back to Turbo Overkill now that that's been fully released basically I'm a big fan of Boomer Shooters and even though I've gotten accustomed to trackpads and Gyro just having an actual Mouse really makes it much easier to play outside of that I'm a big fan of the performance you can use either the 15 watt mode or the 20 watt mode depending on what you're playing and you're going to get pretty good battery life compared to other windows handhelds finally what I like is the versatility you can use this as a tablet if you're just watching media you can do FPS mode you can play with the game pads you can play with the game pads detached if that's something something that's more comfortable for you this device is incredibly versatile and now for my cons the speakers are pretty good but they really pale in comparison to either the steam deck or the RG Ally the screen is quite good and I really like the color and the high resolution but it would have been nice if it wasn't a portrait screen and it would have been a bonus to have variable refresh rate as well and those are two things that the rlg Ally has then there's the fan noise again this is depending on where you're coming from if if you're coming from the steam deck or the rlg Ally the fan noise is going to be a little bit louder than both of those but compared to maybe some iono devices and other windows handhelds this is definitely quieted the nose finally for me is Legion space the software the software is actually better than I would have expected but it does still need work and I really hope that Lenovo continues to improve their software there were some really weird quirks almost every time I would shut down the device it would give me an error that Legion space didn't quit correctly it never got in my way but it was just a weird Quirk and something that they should easily be able to resolve currently the software is in a pre-release State and I suspect that that's why a lot of reviewers haven't gotten their units yet so I'm not going to judge it for the software at this point I'm going to wait a few weeks and see how it goes all the same those are my pros and cons I am honestly fascinated and impressed with this device I think the benefits really strongly outweigh the drawbacks of this again it's something that doesn't exist anywhere else and there's something that it's done that other windows handhelds haven't done for me personally yet which is I no longer feel like I'm missing something from the steam deck don't get me wrong I'm still missing Steam OS as just a basic example and one of the ways I did feel that I was missing Steam OS was the Shader cache it it kind of hurt to play ghostrunner 2 for the first time here and have those stutters but I don't feel like I'm losing battery life by increasing the resolution I don't feel like I'm losing frame rate by increasing the resolution and I don't feel like I'm losing using trackpads and Gyro because I'm gaining FPS mode I'm not saying you need to go out and spend $700 to get this if you already have a steam deck likewise I'm not saying you need to sell your rogg ally to pick this up but I do think this is a more than worthy new device in this PC handheld scene and there is a strong chance that this becomes my daily driver let me know what you think did you learn something new from this review if so certainly feel free to hit the like button or leave a comment thank you so much hope you're having a wonderful week deck gang out [Music] goodbye
