Lemont Artists Guild at Gallery Seven

[Music] thank you hi I'm Nancy yusdanski and I'm one of the founders of the lamad artists Guild our mission has always been to enhance the lives of the people in the land in the surrounding communities through ART and the creativity that goes along with it I want to welcome you to our show here at gallery 7. and I hope that you enjoy it thoroughly I'm very proud of our 24 artists who have taken part thank you [Music] all right [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] I've always been interested in art never thought of doing anything else and I wanted to be a graphic designer but the school I went to I just did Art education so I learned to do a lot of different things the medium that my first medium is watercolor do a lot of watercolor and do pastels and jewelry I make lampwork beads that I've been working on for years and so I sew I have a lot of interests and I can't seem to give anything up so I just keep working away [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] I like working with fiber because it's so tactile people like to come up close and examine it and pet it I often work in weaving on a floor Loom which is a lot of math for counting threads and working out patterns and I also like working in making felt and felting is more serendipitous and it's fun foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] thank you my abstract process is starts out a lot of fun I tone and splash the canvas a lot of times I turn it around and turn it upside down so that it drips sometimes I get some real neat imagery that comes up from the the white of the canvas and then sometimes I also will take the brush and splash the canvas but then I walk away from it for a little bit and think about what the canvas is speaking to me and saying to me and a lot of times it will speak to me about something going on in my life or the world around me which is what I love about abstract art because you can really see and do it more than you might always not necessarily see in something else that's realistic [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music]
