Legendary Doyle Brunson vs Barry Greenstein HEADS UP!

middle of the ring going at it the brunsons versus the greenstein c box for the championship well no question about it matt this is the matchup that everybody wants to see buttons got eight two goliaths who's gonna come out on top as we start this heads-up battle barry greenstein and his son joe sebach well out front with 895 000 in chips the brunson starting out with just 305 000. first to act will be doyle brunson because we had a player go out we've switched who's playing so todd's out doyle's in he's got a queen seven off suit comes in raising makes it 49 000 to go that's gonna do it barry greenstein folds the six high the brunson's picking up pot number one folks if you love poker you're in hog heaven right now because you are watching two of the greats of the game go at it doyle brunson and barry greenstein the robin hood of poker against the godfather but don't forget after one of these teams wins we're gonna split the chips up we're gonna pit father and son heads up against each other for the one seat to the wpt world championship action's gonna be on barry greenstein here he has king eight off suit he's gonna come in raising makes it 48 000 to go bronson with the ace 8 off suit has him dominated right now but of course he doesn't know it see what he's going to do with this hand all right well he is coming over the top of the ace eight makes it 136 000 to go a bold move by dole brunson barry lays that hand down so right now doral brunson playing extremely aggressive against barry greenstein and it's working out well for him he's whittling into that chip lead pretty good here now well make a note for those people at home when you have king eight and your opponents holding ace eight fold i don't know how barry knew that but he did so doyle picking up that pot by coming over the top perhaps the momentum is now shifting over to the brunsons and matt i got to tell you i love the way this heads-up battle has not only come out but i love the match-ups in the heads-up battle i love the fact that doyle's going to play against barry and todd's going to play against joe just phenomenal but right now the action's going to be on doyle brunson who has king six of hearts and he's raised every pot so far in this heads-up match looks like he's going to continue that trend is he reaching for chips total 50. yep he's going to make it 50 000 to go greenstein dominated once again jack six for barry he's going to fold it brunson has raised and re-raised every pot in this heads up match and has won every pot so far berries made a good lay down every time dole's made a great raise every time this is a great matchup and the thing that i find interesting is the body language of the sons behind their fathers look at joe sebach leaning forward almost like he's still trying to learn the game from his father and then there's todd brunson behind doyle who's just kind of sitting back relaxed letting his father do his thing well you're right joe c box still a pupil wants to watch every move that his dad barry makes here todd on the other hand has got a black belt plus in poker he's gonna let his dad play his game he'll play his own when he gets in the box well the action's on doyle he has a 10-7 of clubs well he's raised every part of this heads-up match so far it looks like he's reaching for raisin chips here indeed he is he makes it 48 000 to go with a decision for all his chips but well looks like he's thinking about it i think he's just posturing here man i just can't see how he can call all his chips off with a 10 high they'd be calling him texas dopey instead of texas dollars but i'm a little curious about the size of the raise that barry made there that must be lesson number two chapter seven of barry greenstein's how to play hold'em book re-raise huge when you have kings well both of these guys have certainly written books on poker that are phenomenal the oil of course was super system and super system two and barry greenstein with ace on the river very consulting with his son joe he said do you think i overplayed those two kings i play him too fast joe said no pop she won the pot don't worry about a thing the action's on barry greenstein looks down at king nine of spades gonna raise it make it 48 000 to go now it's over to doyle brunson well last night he had 10-7 this handy has slightly better 10-8 got 16 000 out there so he's gonna make the call all right dawg brunson with 10-8 barry greenstein king nine so we're going to see a flop between these two legends of poker here it comes hoping to get lucky but nobody connecting on this flop comes queen seven four with two diamonds doyle checks and barry greenstein the master of the continuation bet what that means is a guy who bets before the flop leads out and bets on the flop no matter what comes out there barry greenstein doing it here betting 70 000. it's lyle berman out there doyle's thinking about here is does barry have anything if i came over the top could i take the pot away from him he probably could but he opted to lay this pot down so chalk this one up to barry greenstein slyle's big boy too yeah and what a battle we've had here dole jumped out to the front against barry barry's come back these two giants have fought to about a standstill remember the winning team plays heads up against each other will it be doyle versus todd or will it be barry versus joe find out as the heads-up action continues right after this no we we don't play against each other at all and if we get head up the way you guys have this thing structured you're always going to win you know he's trying to let me know i'm gonna be so mad well i don't wanna let you win i'm gonna let him do most of the playing before we get to the final two of you know obviously i'm gonna beat him so you'll be embarrassed welcome back to the wpt fathers and sons coming at you from foxwoods i'm matt corboy and i'm mike sexton and we've got a great duel going on here between dora brunson and his son todd and barry greenstein and his son joe siebach well as promised the suns have taken over they're now doing battle on the felt well i know they say the cards don't matter when it's heads up but the chips certainly do and the greensteins have the brunsons out chipped at this point todd brunson with just over 200 000 got his work cut out for him well the action will be on joe seebach he looks down at ace eight pretty big hand heads up he makes it 48 000 to go back on todd he looks at the 10-5 offsuit he's gonna lay it down well one thing you're going to notice here matt whatever the big blind is and barry greenstein is sun rays it'll be exactly three times the size of the big blind i guarantee you that's a thought that barry has instilled in his son joe doesn't matter if you have a big hand or a six deuce raise the same amount every time we've had the best hands we've had the best barry is just trying to make doyle feel better that helps but it doesn't seem to be working these guys play together all the time for big money with no grudges but tonight it's family honor and pride that's on the line todd brunson looks down at queen eight he limps in on the button a new tactic here by the brunsons joe sebach king seven in the big blind he says give us a flop a little suspicious of the olympian all right here's the flop well flop comes queen jack deuce so todd's flop top pair actions on joe joe a very aggressive player just has king high but he's reaching for chips here and he's going to fire that's 25 000. it's back to todd now todd brunson arguably one of the best no limit heads up poker players on earth 25 000 to him he's got top pair i'm sure he's going to play this hand just a matter of how he's going to play he's going to raise it not going to fool around try to slow play the top pair where he can get beat he makes it 75 000 to go back to joe seebach he reluctantly folds man it makes a good lay down there obviously he took a stab at the pot and mike look at this joe and barry they always consult talk to each other after every hand but doyle and todd they're playing their own games it's almost like todd has to play against two players instead of just one well it's a little bit like that but they're doing nothing wrong you're allowed to talk with your partner between hands but once the cards are dealt it's one person to a hand well barry greenstein the ever-present teacher to joe seebach he taught him how to play poker in between hands he's giving him some advice helping him with his game well not many people in the world could give you better advice i can promise you that and action will be on joe he looks down to king deuces spade here again he's going to raise it and again he makes it 48 000 to go like you said mike makes it three times the big blind every time over to todd brunson who has jack deuce todd makes the lay down todd brunson looking a little frustrated now well they are frustrated because they feel like they're getting out parted right now and in fact they are here lately momentum is on the side of barry greenstein and joe sebastle but recognize that the brunsons just have to double up once and we'll have just about a dead even match here that's right you can never count out the brunsons especially when todd one of the best heads-up players in the world is sitting at the table well action's on todd right now and he looks down at queen eight of spade well he's got to limp in again that worked for him the last time he did it last time he limped in joe siebach said let's see a flop this time he's going to raise and todd is going all in on him oh and joe seback has made the call with the ace 10 so this could do it joe seebach slightly over three to two favorite to win this pot knocked the brunsons out everybody's drawing it royal flushing straight flushes yep the brunsons took two kings and cracked two aces earlier at this final table they don't have to go that far uphill this time but still they're the underdog let's see if they can get lucky and win again [Music] may the best hand win that's all i've got so the brunsons could clearly catch up they've come from behind before that man right there todd brunson did it if the brunsons get lucky here and win this pot we'll be about dead even in ship count if not barry greenstein and his son joe c bach will be our champions all right cool here comes the flop i guess so i already see the hands it's the queen now the flop comes king 6'4 no help to either player one spade out there but the brunsons have got to have help seven of spades would be the most suspenseful card yeah they're looking for a queen or an eight they're running spades to make a flush the five of diamonds comes off that does give the brunsons a straight draw they can now win the pot with a queen an eight or a seven they must catch one of those three cards if they do we'll be about dead even in chips for the championship here comes the river well no lightning this time for the brunsons the ten of diamonds comes up on the river good job joe kevin josie bought two tens joe seebach and barry greenstein have taken down todd brunson and his dad doyle well mike we're not quite done yet after all it's not poker until there's just one man standing when we come back we're gonna pit father against son joe seebach against barry greenstein for the ultimate champion of the wpt fathers and sons welcome back to the wpt fathers and sons tournament and right now you're witnessing the money presentation by the zions energy girls that's right mike they're bringing out the cash the trophy the customized chip sets and now joe siebach and barry greenstein are gonna go at it heads up for the ultimate champion well you're right this father-son combination has already been crowned champion of the team event now they're going to play heads up individually sue captures that 25 thousand dollar feed into the wpt world championship and joe siebach told us that he's never played heads up with his dad very greenside well they've got to be elated the way they performed here tonight they've taken the team title that's what they came for you know i know barry pretty well i'm not sure he really wants to beat joe right now so it will be interesting to see how this heads-up battle develops well in the spirit of uh not wanting to play heads up against my dad i'm gonna move in in the dark because we're a team so he can choose to call it's up to him no i'm gonna look yeah no beating the brunsons that was a nice that we're both happy and well i love this i'm sorry to disappoint you you want to end the show down here matt that's what they're going to do i'm sorry to disappoint you people but uh you want to turn up one one at a time that's not good well joe turns over the deuce first and what do you think i have oh no barry turns over the ace okay at least you guys got a chance okay what is that stack the deck are you kidding me what are you doing moving in with that garbage ball i sneak to people this is unbelievable yeah we're gonna move in blind right right that's right yeah sounds good sounds good he went for it again i'll tell you what uh king deuce for joe sebach ace queen for barry greenstein could be will be they are having nothing but fun right now they're going to play one hand to showdown for this heads-up title i think it's wonderful that they're doing this they're the team champions it's been a great night for him that really is unbelievable that you picked up ace queen and that's fine i put all my chips in didn't i as the cards lie barry greenstein about a two to one favorite to take down this pot and win this title now let's see if his ace queen will hold up and mike i think this is the nicest hand of poker i've ever seen on the wpt you're right about that no doubt about it well barry greenstein has flopped two queens here joe seebach jack needs a king you have to make it interesting jack to make it interesting put up a king well barry says put up a king he said i want him to catch a king i'm running for a king and truthfully i believe he means that joe seebach must catch a king to take the lead he could catch two runners and make it straight well now it's another ten on the turn are you ready for this the king is coming right up a king that means we are down to the river card and for job seebach to be crowned king of this match he's to have to catch a king based on the river [Applause] ironically it's an ace on the river that was the name of the rich book after he coordinates on the river and tunica to win that wpt title yet i understand let's make my place keep singing perspective well the teacher beats the pupil bottle beats done but mike one thing's for sure we had a lot of fun here at the wpt fathers and sons and matt let me say how much i appreciate working with you tonight you are great in the booth we love having you here well thank
