let's [Music] go here we go Tekken talking let's hope we get some good stuff I don't anticipate it's going to be too crazy Eddie release date hopefully content release date how many characters are going to be in this season maybe we already know that maybe that's already actually been revealed I'm also kind of curious to hear about stats and stuff like that like which characters are really popular because we kind of have some side information that people have been Gathering I'm sort of curious if they want to go over that hello everyone welcome to the Tien talk live I have uh the marketing producer yesterday with me as well as Kida also known as nakatu from the dev team and also everyone you know quite well haran himself the chap producer and director on the pro project so we have a lot of stuff to introduce to you guys today uh let's start it off and I'm going to be helping a translating for all these guys because no one speaks English but let's kick it off by listen to what yasuda has to say hi this is a cool layout so yeah pleas we know you guys have been waiting a long time for for yes's PowerPoint presentation that you like you guys love so much so let's get started I heard PowerPoint in Japanese power many many SL Mr PowerPoint here s is just saying that uh since yes is here I'm sorry we don't have any new info just to PowerPoint for you guys but you know everyone today some of going to be stuff we talked about but maybe since we have a new and wider audience uh it'll be new to them and then other stuff that we haven't talked about yet uh is also going to be talked about today so we hope you look forward to it start with the slides hell yeah well deserved was released uh last January 26 right so I'm sure everyone's enjoy it's almost been a month we're quite excited that everyone's really loving the game uh we're at a better State than even where we were with Tekken 7 uh and we even have a lot more uh brand new users to the franchise as well so we're quite happy about that hell yeah even uh yes Mr PowerPoint here likes to to go on late at night and uh check out the the fight lounge with some of his co-workers there's a rumored uh online sug Michael Muran yes he he's been on the dev team of Tekken for over 20 years like a lead developer of Tekken for a very long time he's in like he's in Tekken 5 he's like a background character I think he's been there since four I can ask him the next time I see him so n just mentioned that uh you know he's still quite busy even though the game's released so he doesn't have a whole lot of time to play matches online but uh he gets kind of his motivation from seeing everyone upload all their character customizations uh to his timeline and to to see just you know the general excitement from you guys and the customizations and Fan Art and Etc so keep it coming is he harat's son yes 100% all of these people up here are's children [Laughter] so has mentioned that he's uh been online in several fight Lounge lobbies maybe been uh playing some games with you all but uh even though he's using his normal uh harata underbar Tech in people just they assume that he would never show up so it's got to be an impostor right but but it could be the actual her [Music] himself Michael Mar's been attacking our Namco since 2001 holy however it's not just like you know we're sitting back and chilling after the release of the game obviously we want to provide the best experience possible that we can for everyone so we've been looking at all of your comments and and requests Etc and uh we're trying to make adjustments in additions Etc to to make you guys happy so uh we hope to be touching on that a little bit today cool give me some slides hell yeah [Music] brother four characters for season one so I just mentioned that there's a little bit of time we have today during the broadcast where we we'll be touching on some request uh uh Etc from you guys uh he'll try his best to read the English comments uh maybe even Spanish and uh Japanese obviously uh unfortunately he doesn't really read hungo the language so yeah write your comments in in English and you have a good chance that he might see it so we believe everyone's uh tuned in because you're excited to hear more more about Eddie which we have already kind of uh hinted at including the game already uh we'll get to that in time and in stuff that's not a PowerPoint actually too uh but bear with us in in the meantime before we get to that just saying maybe it's a 60 frame per second uh PowerPoint presentation no my daughter I didn't walk out shut up chat Jesus Christ every time I walk away from a screen doesn't mean there's an announcement spring of this year so uh we just want to touch on some other sometimes I might have to pee or have a family around that time frame somewh between February to March is that where we're at right now and so as you all know we kind of uh made a slight update to the game uh right after release uh but we actually have uh some more stuff uh to update uh we're currently working towards a milestone of end of February this month or perhaps sometime in March so that's kind of the rough time frame we're talking about then after that we have another update coming around March uh and then obviously that's not the end we'll continually be updating the game after that as well leading May and Beyond so today so just to set expectations we're not going to do harus famous and the update's going live today that's not happening today sorry so uh we'll give you more details on the exact release date when we have them confirmed also just want to mention no new characters announced today so if that's your whole thing you know that's that's not going to happen today as we said this isn't the time frame to do that so we're done okay is what har saying so good to see you no we still have power points to show so February March update includes bat be available so let's kick it off so Victor's losing his throw glitch iname collab huh really so as far as adjustments ET said we plan to make with the game um we'll be releasing the actual patch notes uh the day before that drops uh so please wait a little bit longer $5 costume so we have three points overall for that main update the first one is going to be the collaboration that we've already announced at the teen World Tour finals the second would be the forget what that collab is which is a brand new feature update that fixes several uh different properties surrounding certain characters he's wearing the unique low Tekken it's not like a a balance uh update per se it's more of just fixing stuff to work as we intended it to okay let's go into the details regarding each of these good call so as you know uh we're going to be doing a collaboration with uni in game as well yeah the shirts the uni shirts will be available in the game you can put them on the characters you can see the t-shirts and I both have on or the king one that's in the artwork itself and nakatu and horasan actually have different uh t-shirts as well part of the collaborations you can see one damn is that F and Tekken one so all these will also be in game right oh that shirt's great so we had the first Tekken right dang I want that one now is the logos throughout the series damn that one's actually great okay that Tekken eight shirt is legit fire if I go to a uni L I'm buying that so this is actually purchasable in uni clo stores throughout the world um the release date depends on where you are so please check in your local region for details hi in Japan we're looking at end of February for the the store release so I'm looking forward to that yeah there they are it turns into a unique Clow shot of course so about the in-game collaboration regarding that it's going to be uh in the Tekken fight Lounge in which you use your avatar kind of I haven't gone into the fight Lounge in a while a whole kind of like uh uni Tekken eight store I guess you could say free of charge they're just in the game new customization items cool so we actually have some footage that's taken of the in-game uh collaboration we have uh already implemented so let's take a break from the PowerPoint for a second and check out the video so naku just the ceiling of the Tekken fight Lounge many of you are probably familiar with this area but you can see it's changed to uh reflect the Tekken 30th Anniversary logo and uh that one of Uno as well the UT this must be an expensive promotion [Laughter] so was just mention that uh you know we can do collaborations with many different uh people with this area is quite flexible so even you know personal people if you have a spare 8 850k or so come talk to us and we can put your message up on the ceiling here I was about to say $800,000 like a cool million to get some of that done all right chat what's the next sub goal here we go as you can see with the store area start saving up now of upd to reflect by the time we're done maybe Teek will still be around in like you know 20 30 years got a prime sub put a WIS Marvel sign in there Tekken shop offers a wide variety of customization items for purchase including Legacy character costumes so this actually is accessible if you go into the store area and you talk to the employee there and uh you access the shop from there but uh so this new feature Tekken shop let's talk a little bit more about itk once or twice a month so this new area the teeken shop is where we're going to be uh actually updating with newer customization items that you can so I see Tekken [Music] for jun's tag two outfit yeah teeken for you good call we have some actually kind of interesting content here uh some you know iconic legendary uh costumes for the characters that you can uh customize them with but also some of the Avatar skins uh you've probably seen already the Jin June in kazia ones but we have more on the way I don't know what that Kaz is I have no idea it looks like it's going to be a premium currency for sure like Tekken coins you can see them down here here here it says 400 so yeserday was just mentioned that uh you know we hear that some people might have some kind of allergic reaction when they hear shop Etc but it's more of trying to uh update the game and keep it fresh with new customization items and um as you've seen what we did with Tekken 7 you know we Tred to uh refresh the game and and to provide a better experience overall rather than just trying to make money off these individual items so uh the thinking is the same for Tekken 8 and that we're trying to make it a better game uh and this is just one of the ways that we plan to do that so please keep that in mind so it's going to cost money it's definitely going to cost some money which is kind of to be expected you already get a ton of free in the game to be real so again regarding the Tekken shop uh we have a short video to show you so let's take a a break from the PowerPoint and let's check out the video please show Avatar skin yeah so some of them are free and some of them will be will cost so the way you do it is you go into the store and you'll talk to the employee there uh and then you'll access the the customization items this one happens to be the uniclo collaboration and so although it's free for everyone in game uh you actually still go through the purchase of of of of I'm sorry the process of purchasing it so that you can obtain it so you can see all the t-shirts that you can Equip to the different characters uh the king shirt as well as the one Nakata has on you can Equip to your characters where the one that uh harata is wearing you'll be equipping to the [Music] Avatar so like I was just saying the Avatar shirt and and uh that as well is free to yeah it's the same currency that's up here looks like Tekken coins something cool this is the uh iconic kind of legendary costumes that everyone loves from past installments are you going to take in for so if that's a $4 costume oh and you can change the color too I believe that's a $4 costume then okay we're at a spot of like moderate acceptability up some of the fan favorites here can see uh tck Tag Tournament to June right here nice them upscaling all these costumes okay just crazy as this is a Tekken six Kaz outfit it is so the coin the the 400 you see is actually it's not a particular currency outside the game it's just the Tekken coins uh if we have to kind of translate it roughly it would be like 3.99 USD R all right so that's kind of the price all right in the moderate range of acceptability so that's cool you get classic Tekken outfits they're customizable they're recolorable costume from I mean it'd be great if they're included but they're already giving us like several costumes that you can you can unlock with in-game currency so okay yeah the P now we have to deal with the purchase increments you can only buy a thousand coins at a time right that's the goofy Street Fighter so no just mentioned that you see the emote uh that comes attached with Raina as with the other characters as well and it's not just particularly when you're have the Raina skin on you can use it with your other uh avatars as well if you own that SK yeah goofy Lobby Avatar purchasable stuff this reminds me of Monster Hunter yeah this really reminds me of Monster Hunter where they offer like a big package of game and all this like little uh accessory that you can do in the lobby and for characters that does cost money but has no effect on the game itself really reminds me of Monster Hunter you have the item available variety of items some free and some paid paid items can be obtained by spending Tech and Co purchase on each platform not available for cross Commerce okay nothing particularly crazy yet other than the fact that we're getting classic costumes that cost about four bucks each you know there's it's all up to your imagination maybe your your favorite to support your favorite streamer uh having a good stream or maybe a particular twt player that you're uh watching has won a match or something like that or a friend for comparison sake chat these things that you're buying in other games like Mortal Kombat cost twice as much and if not more for like a cost an OG costume as you see some of the costumes cost second coins but uh some like un and you don't you don't even get alternate costumes at all in the core game itself that's like the difference this game you get like several you get like six per character practically so if you want some of these Customs that actually cost uh the Tekken coins the way you go about it is you go to the uh particular platform store that you're playing on and you purchase the Tekken coins there and then that allows you to purchase ingame uh these items hi yeah just barely predatory so I think it's also the fact that Tekken 7 really didn't get updates in this way at all game is uh got crossplay in it but um very few times did Tekken 7 get like costume updates to any of the characters in the roster much less customization updates it almost never I can't remember if there was ever anything things that were added customization [Music] wise yeah so caliber had customization DLC this is going to be in the game and uh obviously we're going to have to have a short maintenance uh period before we open all this up uh but once that's done you guys will have access to all of it go to the next slide chain throws becoming unbreakable during a punish is pretty crazy customization items all this uh I know you all are quite interested to find out about the the character adjustments uh this is mainly just uh trying to correct moves that weren't working as we intended them to or actually bugs and things like Victor throws obvious it's Victor's gunshot throw all the other throws aren't changing Chad it's only the one that where he goes bang bang bang and he like shoots you a few times the big launcher throw that that that is unchanged that throw work is working as intended it is a two four thr I believe so we want to thank everyone who's been sending uh tweets to the hashtag we had the Tekken 8 report uh you know nakat and all of us have been looking at the reports oh 13 is the gun throw okay that's that's the busted one been found to be broken or unintended Etc so thank you for that and please continue to do that what was wrong with it it was harder to break than the usual base throws Victor's Victor's uh 1 three throw is a little harder to break um har just mentioned we want to to please keep that strictly to uh reports of bugs or things that are broken in the game uh if you flood that with certain character requests or uh you want the game balance to be changed a certain way it's going to take much longer for us to sift through the actual bugs and things that need to be fixed so uh please keep those separately uh not like we're not listening at all this is the cost of having a big audience adjust har is going through his Ed Boon Arc right now this is the cost of having a big ass audience and we'll keep an eye on that as well but pleaseing Victor what the that way say wait wait how am I down playing Victor what next his throw is BU but it's only one throw If You're Expecting all of his other throws to get fixed they're normal waiting for the explanation so uh we have some other stuff planned for the updates for February March and after that uh but these are the main things that we wanted to show off today but you know outside of the game we have a lot of cool stuff going on too I'm sure a lot of people who are Tekken fans are going to BU like to show off a few of those for you today so uh we were able to show off uh a little bit of some of the uh products we've had in the pipeline now but next we want to move on to uh the Tekken World Tour kicking off in April I believe right y hi other new features so since the Tekken world is going to be kicking off in April uh that's why we're really kind of in a rush to get all the reports from you all and to make sure that uh we fix all the stuff that we didn't intend uh or that's broken Etc uh to being a good start uh for the the tour so we have a few other cool features to talk about in a bit but first let's get to the Tekken Roll tour a lot of there here like even outside of Teek te stuff just in general it's still going dud tacos we have a short video uh so some of you might have seen this already but to our newer audience uh please check out this trailer Taco World Tour get ready for [Music] the damn Tekken that Evo is going to be nuts ladies gentl oh my God break oh my God H not taking this easy then they announce that all of this is being done in person that all of twt this year is at events yeah it's all offline so the Tekken World Tour has been such such a success we've been doing it in this current capacity since 2017 you know we had an earlier iteration before that but now we're going to be uh kicking off 202 and there you go 24 2 24 right and just to kind of go uh a review over the details uh one of the main points obviously is it's going to be offline events only uh not only that but there's two different leaderboards the global and the regional and we'll explain the importance of that uh in a second where the hell is aent coffee why can't we buy that so the global leader board will be broken down we have four different categories obviously the Master Plus Master Challenger and also the dojo and so your best placements will be taken to determine your placement leaderboard so you know that's like the the the top Master plus two masters uh three Challengers I believe was and four Dojo so those placements will then be calculated to determine where you are on the global leader board Japan's late April I keep forgetting how later this year it is uh the the Master Plus category uh April 27th okay the big Crown Jew we actually have two Japan make an appearance in this category so we're currently uh everyone's they're accepted registrations for uh Eva Japan uh still I believe it uh it it's heads into the beginning of uh no so uh the mid of March so please register for the game I think tekken's in second place somebody says I don't get the penis coffee joke Jesus Christ Chad I have to do everything for you you don't get the penis coffee joke penis coffee you get it now you get it now and kicking off the tour uh I got do everything for you I think that uh the interest in in Tekken 8 is really high since the game was just released so we're going to see a huge tournament huge event for this uh until we see Vegas later in the year probably hi oh now you get it what else do you think she could have said nothing there's no other options zero options that's the only thing she said so there's also going to be a regional leaderboard which just Pro provides you with a separate path to uh finals obviously right so we did this back in 2022 I believe and it's making a comeback in in this current format so for the regional leaderboard you're going to want to participate in your local scen uh you know take taking part in as many dojos as you can and then your top six places in the dojo events will be calculated uh to determine your spot on the regional leaderboard taking a long time to get through this info that's for [Music] sure so uh you know please wait for me more info on what the breakdown of the actual regions are but the whole point of this uh regional leaderboard is we hope that you'll support your local scene and support these tournaments that are close to you and to kind of you know build up your your local scene so that's the the whole purpose of this and we hope that you all will uh continue to participate in your dojo and so for the toos out there we realize it's a lot of hard work and dedication on your part but uh as a result the people who participate in your tournament get points not only for the global leaderboard but then the regional leaderboard as well so uh we hope that everyone will uh you know continue to participate in your dojo events yo Razzy thanks for the prime dude thanks for the tier one actually so we really hope that uh you'll help us make uh the 2024 year of Tekken World Tour well so all these are going to be uh released uh you know consecutively so I think the first drop is starting somewhere around April is what we have planned uh also leading through June so please look forward to it so yeah we got to catch up real quick uh so we're just talking about you know obviously the Tekken World Tour kickoff is going to be the main thing looking forward we're all looking forward to and the updates to the game to try to get that a good place before then uh that said you know uh as we're fixing things I'm sure there's other featur and things that you guys are are uh wanting to to have imp implemented into the game so uh let's ask nakatu what he has planned oh really gonna find [Music] out yeah they talked about pluggers um if you plug while playing Tekken 8 online it deletes the game from your console yeah so uh unfortunately we don't have a PowerPoint for this particular part of it uh and we noticed that the comments are mentioning how this uh program itself is just you know uh Ben iamco just uh one directionally uh giving you guys some information uh so we want to kind of try to continue the conversation with you oh this is actually live in that regard R was just mentioned that uh maybe give you a little bit more insight into what uh we as a development team are thinking of adding to the game you know because it's not just I didn't realize this was actually live I thought it was a video thinking of features to improve the game but you know you know are a lot of times uh free of cost so uh just to give you uh all a little bit of insight into what we're currently thinking oh God they're reading the chat oh no they're reading the chat oh no don't read the chat one of the first editions obviously will be in the Tekken fight Lounge is a certain area that uh uh we plan to use and we'll be having the uh the online practice area so you'll be able to go online with a friend and uh practice in a certain situation so another cool feature we're thinking of is uh currently the super ghost battle I'm sure everyone's enjoying that at the moment and you can only play against other people's ghost right uh but we plan to have ghost versus Ghost battles implement the game as well uh I was just mentioned that in the dev environment my Devil Jin beat uh nakat farang in this uh in development feature so I kind of like this this new feature and so another Coe feature that we're planning is uh we've been extremely happy to see everyone's customizations that they've done and uploaded online uh and we think everyone's having fun with that too so we're going to add this uh photo mode which you know is kind of designed by the art director who is himself uh kind of a semi-professional cameraman actually uh camera person uh and so we plan to to give you a lot of different features to to make it uh kind of intuitive and easily show off your latest Creations Dam photo mode is YouTube thumbnail legit YouTube thumbnail mode that's actually very very much [Music] appreciated [Music] another one is the story mode um you know we for Tekken 7 we never really kind of updated that after the release uh we know that that's something that's popped with the fans and it's something we really would like to do more often it's just so expensive to create uh that particular asset uh that said you know with the the characters that didn't be added in the game uh we were just thinking that uh we would like to in some kind of uh form kind of update the story a little bit to show what's been going on with those characters when they join the game and the thinking is you know it'd be kind of lame to lock that behind for just people who bought the characters uh so obviously that would be uh addition free of charge for everyone who owns Tekken a to to be able to play oh wow story mode expansion fre DLC holy pretty generous f wolf thank you so much dude kind of like trying the character out before you buy it's that way it was that way in like Street Fighter 5 story pretty much obviously it costs money [Music] [Music] C poor Mike Murray over here my God it he's used to it he's like hold on a second uh okay uh I'll try to remember everything he said uh luckily I'm not drinking tonight so uh we're just talking about we've updated the way we developed the game obviously for Tekken 8 uh various myth mythologies Etc um but we would like to ask a favor of everyone that they kind of update their thinking to the current uh environment of of game development and how games are sold how they're consumed Etc so uh you know games uh to create now are just so much more expensive than even Tekken 7 was so it's like you know several times of that when we're thinking about the current platform of game so uh you know when we take some of these lugy costumes that a lot of people have been asking for there is a certain group out there that say oh you're just taking it and copy and pasting it into the game but that's not how it works you can't just take those old assets from like teeken for and paste them into the current generation of hardware and make it look fine all these obviously have been uh you know recreated uh for Tekken 8 so and it's not like we're charging an out raes price and the the point we're really trying to make though is that it's not like it's going into the coffers of Ben NCO we want to improve the game with these updates that we're providing for free that her is talking about in a lot of cases and yeah I think there there's a delicate balance there between free and cost that we have to uh pay for so this is uh how we're is that they're aware of that they're like okay so we're going to try to balance that out at least with some really good free stuff but also like here's some cosmetic that costs not an arm and a leg they're being transparent like we we obviously you know need to continue the game and have it keep going right cuz it's way more expensive than previous fighting games way more expensive and so herado was just touching on something that uh you all really uh have a lot of interest in recently the uh people who are plugging Etc um there's no perfect solution to this but uh we're trying to improve it at least uh to make it more accurate uh disconnect ratio that's displayed on their character profiles Etc and also you know obviously we want to ban these people from the game but there's a lot of legal Protections in various countries and different manners around the world so we're just being very careful that we have uh all of that kind of paperwork and the meth methodology that's necessary to uh you know remove these people from the game service before we go through with the bands so uh it will happen uh please be patient this is actually a pretty great chat that's happening right now this is actually super interesting has mentioned you know we we realize sometimes your internet just you know there's a problem with it uh in a certain instance or your Hardware whatever uh it's not like you're going to get banned for one time obviously this is people who are you know uh constantly doing it so if you just have that rare occasion you you don't have to worry about it the fact that they're being transparent they're like we're trying to we know it's an issue but they know that it isn't like you don't want to like strike while the Iron's hot and just immediately come up with like oh here's our solution we're just going to get rid of them like no there's a lot of people playing a lot of things that can happen they're not ready to to fix the whole thing because they don't have a fix yet and so n was just mention that uh he would like to ask everyone for your help as well and that um you know you can currently uh report players online when you uh play against someone uh you can go to their profile and then uh choose to report them Ultra thanks for the 10 that's what kind of triggers the whole process uh another way you can help is if you've actually recorded footage of these people uh then you can upload that to uh x uh with the the Tekken 8 report that he mentioned as well so please do that and I would just say as well you know I played online recently after release a little bit and I've had people plug to uh and not only report them but you can actually choose to ban them as well so from the profile what's a plugger people that back out as soon as they lose people like quit out as soon as there's like the sight of them losing before the rounds are even over you know rage quits that's all it really is Rage quitting for some reason the term plugger has become more popular lately but yeah it's a rage quitter hi and the har was just mentioned that you know we feel as strongly as you guys even on the weekend where uh you know chatting to each other on our phones about this particular person that we saw online it's uh you know being a bad person and we already have our list of people that definitely want to have banned it's just like he said uh we want to make sure that they don't try to like sue us uh in some particular country saying that they uh unlawfully were denied service Etc so we're just making sure that uh all the Ducks are in a row so um but you know rest assured we're we feel as strong about the isue as you guys that's usually the solution is to match them only with other pluggers and so we just don't want someone to you know just act like a a jerk and and kind of like think it's a joke and then end up banned and then come crying to us to unban them so uh please consider yourself warned uh there are various uh meth right some people who aren't that bad might just get a message warning them they're going to get banned but some people could get uh outright ban you know for life from Tekken a so uh it's no joke and if you're if you're doing that now please stop uh and I hope you're not on the list already got a list is just you know um saying that obviously got his cracker list and his plugger list everyone complaining about these particular people so we have he's got his pluger cracker list important that you continue to uh report these people because the more you report he he'll go to your house personally if you're on the plugger cracker list he's going to show up at your door with his like AK-47 and samurai sword cracked the game and he's plugging I'm going to tackle you through the door hell want that uh so the dev team is currently uh thinking of different uh features that you might want to update to the game uh so you know please let us know if there's something you want [Music] 3 on3 five on5 team batt [Music] or Team Battle maybe because this game doesn't have Team Battle in survival some people complain about that and so you know I mean uh Tekken 7 had a tournament mode um that you know some people really liked but if we look at the data overall it wasn't a huge number of people playing it it looks like um so when we're thinking of some kind of additional way to play online just in straight up uh you know quick match R rank match Etc we were thinking what about maybe a three on three or a five on five might be kind of cool whether that's teaming up with friends or or just you know random players online I might be kind of a interesting addition but I don't know what do you guys think it's not bad chat's kind of yeah Tekken s tournament was first to one and it couldn't be changed it wasn't even like best of three so uh har is just saying that you know uh please let us know if there's some other thank you for the uh we we haven't decided the next thing that we want to update yet uh as far as like major features uh so if you hurry you could still make it in time uh whether that's in this chat log or if you want to contact us directly on on X so yeah I mean of course if you want to see improvements in certain things exist that's a a cool uh opinion as well we're talking about like new features that you would like to see [Music] so so and just lastly know about uh the character balance uh I'm sure many people feel strongly in all kinds of different ways uh but please keep in mind you know this is no arcade release it's straight to console everyone has their hands on the game at the same time and even looking at the social media of uh you know Pro players on the Tekken World Tour everyone's opinions kind of changes changes on uh characters from from day to day so it's still a little bit early to say one way or the other so please keep that in mind uh that said obviously we're keeping a close eye on the game uh and we'll plan to you know balance the game when necessary uh moving forward I'll be right back so just about tag please uh hold off on that uh as we mentioned way back when we did Tag 2 it it's uh when you try to have four characters on screen at the at the same time uh obviously it really limits your resources so the stage would have to be really uh paired down to something that's not that uh immersive so uh that's not really realistic at this point uh at the moment so please hold off on uh the tag comments for now shut up Chad Jesus and uh we'll continue to do quality of life improvements and Max teleport to Japan I think uh tweeted about this too but no one's uh taking a break even after the game's released uh we're still trying to improve it make it better you probably seen y doing his PC in various areas of the globe as well so so yeah I mean we're just trying to say you know we feel really important uh we we feel strongly that we want to have the best experience in the best fighting game out there so uh it's not like we're resting on laurels or anything we hope to improve the game uh and it's not like we're making money ourselves off of ticken eight it goes into the company and uh hopefully at some point you know we'll see some of that but yeah we we just want to make a great experience for everyone they're employees they're all employees so as long as we have the funds to do it we're going to make the be best game possible so uh we look forward to your support do okay I think we're we're almost finished with the PowerPoint and we we have the this is actually really cool showing us stuff in progress oh my god let's go through the main main uh main screen here main menu Kenny would be absolutely losing his right now seeing Kaz ho all day long so we decided to change it up Eddie is now on the main menu what they put the DLC characters in the main menu that is so freaking smart this is the game model obviously not like a pre-render or anything this is the actual model itself put the game that's so smart oh this is a good Tekken talk boys so I believe uh nak is gonna show us in the practice mode just a little bit about the character and what we have so far oh my God this a good Tech and talk boys imagine TA in the main menu Jesus and uh is saying we realize many people want to use their favorite character in the main menu so that's uh something we understand and uh hopefully it can happen oh that's a great that would be amazing not just have kaz's tits so we going to show you some of the costumes first cuz uh there's some cool things what is that other outfit dude the purple vest oh my God oh my God damn bro and this is his unique costume that he has it's brand new for Tekken 8 hi I mean and uh I know I'm a huge fan of this Tekken 7 costume but it's uh brought back for Tekken 8 as well the hairstyle at the time Kenny where are you man where are you Kenny tell me you're okay obviously you can customize the hairy to your liking I'm going to go grab my taco be right back you know the brand new default costume so uh there's actually a new element to the game play uh that we want to show you so uh maximize your screen if you haven't done so yet just so you can get the F details and we're going to pick a a more wide stage for the against clo [Music] here so you'll notice the icon right next to the heat gauge uh this kind of signifies different things for different characters in Claudio's case it's it signifies the the heat burst right and he's got a unique mechanic snake eyes and so this is going to be included in the update and end of February or early March uh to kind of show this the uh abilities that each character has uh in the match related to heat smash it's for everybody what is it pretty much [Music] like it's the installs so uh you all are probably pretty familiar that uh you know Eddie's a staple of the series for what 25 years now uh but one of the kind of key Concepts in the development of the character this time resource if they have it so he's you know his fight style has been uh completely revamped for this time his fight style has been completely revamped so even the jingga you can see the the footwork um it just feels more like solid and you know uh actually sticking to the ground that it was before so you can see the animations have changed quite a bit Ken are you okay so there's kind of a unique story to this actually um there's a development member uh called sasamori uh who actually started uh learning Capa when he saw Eddie for the first time uh you know back in the day and so he's actually been teaching Capa for the past 16 years that's how good he's gotten and uh he is well known in Japan especially and he actually did the motion capture for Eddie so completely new Eddie Moab so it's like his teacher's Eddie kind of you know because he's that's where he started from is his teacher [Music] yeah so if you can see the handstands changed it was facing the other direction up until seven but from8 he's actually facing his opponent now you can actually uh move forward while staying in the handstand and so you can actually kind of evade your opponents uh in uh kind of uh reverse direction as well so you can see he's much more mobile while than before handstand into Power Crush all right that's kind of like one of his starting points for his uh offense and he's had several new techniques added from there oh my god dude everybody's going to get check by this now it's the ultimate knowledge check because now there's no knowledge it's over nobody knows how to fight against this guy all these new strings and uh and then uh sequences of attacks also a new power crash then negativa the relax position so negativa you know is uh a transition that gives you access to other techniques but also so is a good way to kind of like evade opponent's attacks as well not only that but in negativa you can now kind of move forward in that uh stance what so if the hand stands kind of like your starting point to your offense uh negativa relax position is kind of like uh a way to open up your opponent get he get stacks of what is that so it has lots of low attacks uh he also if he does a clean hit from one of those uh low attacks it actually knocks down the opponent and gives him kind of a buff and so the power up is kind of uh nakat is going to explain a bit more detail but it's gives Max the Mingo it's like a kind of like a spiritual capabilities I guess you could say spirit moves and so you know some of the uh the thinking behind the the revamping of the style was to make it even more like over the top and stand out in the dynamic animations uh one of the major uh techniques he's just showing off right now it's one of them it's so weird thinking Edie do completely new and this brand new move that he's doing now is uh kind of like using a uh uh Phoenix Smasher for for Paul in the sense that it's from kind of a mid range attack that's quite strong they gave him fist death kick gave him a death kick oh good and since second eight nature is supposed to be aggressive gameplay uh offensive Etc uh this is the first time Eddie gets uh Slash and so you can actually go from handstand uh I'm sorry from a slash kick into the handstand to continue up your offense I'm getting slightly concern my friend will be playing this character and so since we realize that you know a lot of people are really attracted to Eddie when they're first picking up Tekken especially um we went to make him very accessible so uh you know simply pressing uh repeatedly the left attack uh transitions him to hand sand attacks and then through to negativa so it's uh quite easy to do all these kind of over the top C actions learn your punishes chat learn your punishes and so rep repeatedly pressing the right kick will uh do as nakat is doing now where it's kind of like a capar dance like uh motion this very fluid so we just wanted to make him very easy to pick up and play and still uh get that feeling of cwe uh uh even for beginner players you don't even have to three four anymore you just press three or four uh so and then obviously one of the new uh features the m to power up so when one appears that means that that's like level one of the Maj dude his transitions look crazy options to kind of open up his opponent from the handstand so even from the handstand he has access to low attacks that help open up the opponent you can do lows from a handstand what and so the level of mzinga actually uh it's a you you keep that level throughout the round so it's not like it goes away or is depleted in that round because of course Teek is freaking crazy so if you can get up to level two then he's quite uh formidable with low attacks from handstand so the only way it goes back to zero is when you begin a new round they reset at the round J so Edd's characteristic is really about using all these powerful kick attacks and also power powering up so you can have access to those uh those new techniques from mazinga you're sacrificing Oki to get the buff so because the the dev team wants uh you know a variety of different players to check it out and have fun with the character I one of his main launchers the I think it's called the B Billy bow I believe uh the three both kicks um it's a difficult input for newer players right so they changed it to just three LK and then you consecutively press the left kick uh to continue to do followup attacks which also uh levels up your majinga as well so yeah I mean even if you're new to Tekken we hope you'll check it out cuz he's quite accessible and so his stances like especially the handstand Etc have been kind of streamlined uh to make it more easy to and intuitive to play and so was saying that uh likewise with the right kick um the right side kick I mean uh you can launch your opponent and continue with the right kick in puts to uh continue the combo and I was just mention it's almost like special style kind of really what happens in heat though that's a damaging heat Smash and so uh when he's powered up in the heat State uh it's even easier to go into the handstand uh transition because of the techniques he has access to like the technique he's currently showing off in which you go straight into the handstand and at the same time uh launching your opponent into a tornado if it's so weird to see Eddie doing his stuff man it's really weird to me his game plan and his gameplay have been so similar for so long and another is kind like like the sneak attack you have from negativa the the relax state to kind of like a sneaking attack on your opponent when they're not expecting it and so really allows Eddie to kind of keep forward pressure on the opponent H and you have uh a variety of different attacks at your disposal nak likes these type of characters he also has a throw from negativa as you just [Music] saw okay okay so that's the first time we've actually shown uh in build uh footage of Eddie uh playing live so we hope you all enjoyed it show RAR rart I'm calling Kenny after this [Music] so so uh you know herado was just worried that uh the comments you know are filled with a lot of people who are like oh man Eddie's insane I can't wait to play him but at the same time people who are uh you know have a different main character and thinking ah I have to learn how to fight against this character but you know it it's um it's like any other character obviously he looks strong when we first show him off because we want people to be excited about new characters but uh he has his weaknesses and openings as well you just uh have to find them just like the other characters yeah so uh I know you enjoy asking for other characters in the chat but uh that's not how we do it so uh and Yas is going to throw down the banhammer if you keep doing that so the cost of having a popular game okay so uh we were just showing off the PS5 build today uh the dev kit obviously it's also you know going to look the same on uh Steam and in the Xbox version as well that said uh it's time to move back to uh yes it this PowerPoint quality of life Improvement nakatu made to uh the steam version in particular uh you know before you had to go to the options uh to then choose exit Game to end the game when you want to but uh he added a separate icon here you can see on the far right to exit the game more easily smart hi and so to uh back to the PowerPoint briefly uh we just wanted to make uh it clear we've said but uh to those of you have the Delux editions that contain the character pass uh you'll have access 72 hours ahead of time to the character so although Eddie we know you're looking forward to it uh we don't have uh a release date announced yet uh but we'll let you know at a later later time but when he does come out uh those of you who have this pass will get him 72 hours earlier hi [Music] so for those of you uh who at launched uh just you know wanted to play quickly and picked up the standard edition uh there are a few options for you if you want the character pass can you practice to punish Eddie if you don't buy Eddie that's a good question that would be a good question only have the standard edition you can still uh after the fact uh upgrade to everything in the deluxe edition with this Deluxe pack and uh as you mentioned this does include the uh year one character pass so not just Eddie but uh the other three characters after him to follow so for in that uh that pass and also if you're just uh simply interested in the contents that unique only to the the uh Ultimate Edition you can get that separately as well with this pass [Music] late March for the next Tekken talk so we have another one coming up uh Teek and talk live live next one's planned for late March thank you for tuning in for hour and a half uh is just saying maybe we should change up this uh divide into talk live in late March yeah for a live broadcast this was pretty good it needs some trimming but this is actually kind of sick that we have like an NRS style behind the scenes for Tekken like I kind of love this man I think this is really cool there is so much information it's just allowing the devs to be transparent again about like where they're going it's a combat cast yeah so really smart rather just recap and for people who didn't uh see the whole broadcast uh obviously uh there's a lot of stuff we'd like to uh add to the game outside of these uh planned editions for for February Etc uh so please let us know what that is whether that's the three on three that he mentioned five on five or some kind of cool idea that uh you have perhaps just let us know on X and the r the jacket I know everyone's been asking where they can get that uh hopefully we can make that happen too uh nothing concrete to reveal at the um our fabulous coordinator off to the side you can't see is actually working on that trying to make nice very cool that said you know obviously the the three that we were wearing at the the show uh was something specially made for that event so uh it'll be uh changed a specifically a cosplay jacket okay Kenny Kenny so yeah we men uh you know think about right in the train all the way Studio that's not at our work location dressed as R what do you know dud but it's you know it's Japan so no one really paid any attention to that except for one call Kenny it's like 1 in the morning yeah hello hi so I I don't want to tell you too much cuz you said you were out uh you need to go home and watch the tech and talk and uh I don't I don't how much do you want me to spoil anything for you'll some people have been like hey they're like talking about Eddie right now what I mean I'll just tell you what's in it they pull out the dev build and they're like so let's show you Eddie okay I'm going let you go raw I want to tell you stuff so bad so I can get your reaction over the phone but just just me one completely different probably might not fit in with uh yes so naturally his play style was relatively defensive in enely new animations entirely new moves entirely new stances you you have to learn another character Kenny oh my God he's not the same Eddie you have to go home you have to go home okay oh my gez all right I'll see you dude I'll see you all right bye that's pretty crazy man like seeing Eddie do entirely news different stuff this was legit a great presentation there was almost like too much stuff right and we got to the point where we start really talking talking about like the future of the game where things are going right adding new features and it's like yeah there a lot of this I completely agree with you know I really looking
