hi everyone ted here and today i want to talk about moving from t-mobile to visible [Music] so this video is just document of my experience of what it was like moving from t-mobile a carrier that i was with for four years over to visible i switched over with the lg g8x and this i bought this phone from ebay it came unlocked but it was originally given from sprint so it has boot up message on it as i said i've had t-mobile for four years since i came into the states um i've actually had technically had them longer because i used them when i was in england but over there they were called ee because they merged with some other but over here i'm paying i was paying 70 dollars for the line and i was getting a 15 auto pay discount and i was also paying 15 for my uh equipment both uh which is the iphone 11 which i paid off once i moved there was only two things i didn't like of the service um i live in rural america um in this part of texas where i live and i wasn't really happy with the sale reception i was getting and also again i was paying for one line unlimited everything for 70 and that was um i finally like you know dug in to finally switch when i was my sister was coming over and i wanted to pay for her line so i just figured it would just be cheaper if i do it get another line with visible and just migrate over to there i moved over to visible about three weeks ago i think i moving over was actually fairly simple i just had to go on the website and order a sim once you go over there on their website they'll say hey do you have a phone that works for us like they'll make sure by putting in your device e-m-e-i-e-i-e-m-i and if you do have a phone network say that okay they'll send you a sim and if you don't they're like okay trading your phone and we'll give you this phone that works or you can just buy a phone was on their shop and you know they do have like a basic phones well they have a basic options like you know they have apple they have samsung and they have pixel and you can just shop through them they're not going to give you like great deals the main impetus for me switching was i can get two lines for fifty dollars actually to be more clear i can get a line of service for twenty five dollars through their party pay where if i hook up with four people could be anyone i can uh each line is brought down to 25 dollars so me my girlfriend and my sister and i was able to find some other guy off reddit or is it twitter read it it was reddit and yeah brought down our bill to 25 a month the first month that you signed up for visible they also give you like they'll give you like an introductory offer for 25 dollars a month so you have about a month to find a party or for to bring down your bill to 25 a month speaking of now that i've used this visible for about three weeks something you should know um unfortunately i didn't do enough due diligence to know about the cell service in my area i assumed that verizon was the best in terms of like 4g service or whatnot in terms of entire coverage in the us and while it's true they have more coverage in terms of speed in my little neck of the woods i was wrong actually verizon verizon's um verizon signal strength it's actually not so great here ironically it's it's actually a little bit worse than t-mobile the best here is a t and uh so att and qriket users here are just living it up so that was uh silly on my part uh but you know i'm paying 25 a month so that's uh that's great for online so that's that's great i guess another thing with visible is um i don't know when they'll support 5g officially like they don't even support it unofficially so i don't know why i had to stipulate that but that's um i'm i'm kind of keeping my ear close to the ground to see like you know when they will so to see if i should like stop shopping for a 5g smartphone one little snag i also had in terms of you know having poor service with verizon here is um my phone the lg g8x uh i bought this from from this phone originally was um this was a sprint phone even though it was unlocked and i mentioned this because this is important to know because it came from sprint because when i put my visible sim inside first of all let me just say when i put the device e-i-i-i-m-e-i in on visible's website they said it wasn't supported but i took a chance anyway and as of now this phone i'm not able to send sms messages but i can send rcs messages and i can still receive sms messages thank goodness and i'm unable to call toll-free numbers which is that and they're supposed to be like an easy way to fix this by changing your apn settings but there is no way like once i put a visible sim in here i can't change anything i've tried it with other sims on this phone which and i can change the apn settings there on those sims but once i put a visible sim nope can't change it all i can do is um reset them and that that sucks i do have a workaround though for those problems i've had which is you know not being able to send sms and call toll-free numbers and that fix is google voice that's it straight up um call using you know data and wi-fi and but that's uh that is actually about it i i'm not sure how long i'm actually going to stay with the lg g8x i something in my bones telling me i might you know move over to another small later in q4 of 2020 or early 2021 it might be the pixel 4 a5g or maybe it's going to be that xperia 5 mark ii i don't know but uh just some things to note if you're planning on moving over to visible just make sure how well verizon performs in your area i recommend using the open signal app just do a little research on if your phone will work on visible as a check reddit or you know just do a broad google search uh i was thought i was gonna go over to the v60 but uh from what i've been hearing uh it looks like that phone really doesn't work do well on visible so basically the main takeaway is this don't be afraid to you know leave a big carrier to go to an mvno that you know gives you the same thing or maybe even more for less money i mean if i mean there's like if you're a one person i should you should not be paying like more than 50 bucks for a cell service don't be afraid to like shop around and get a good deal but um i'm going to have links to visible in the description box below to find out more about them and to some youtubers that explain visible surface very well thanks for watching you guys have a good day and stay cozy
