surveyed the latest small luxury suvs and these seven models came in the bottom of the list on reliability that doesn't mean you should avoid these crossovers completely but it's worth to know the rover has sold more than 68 000 f-paces in the u.s since the brand's first suv went on sale in 2016. 2021 f-base received a facelift and exterior styling including a revised grille a reworked hood and updated lighting elements the cabin is nicely trimmed cargo capacity is generous among the compact luxury suvs the f-pace is one that's decidedly sporty sometimes to a fault which should help satisfy enthusiast drivers who value driving dynamics above all else however jaguar the brand rarely has been a leader in quality and reliability the f-pace got 2 out of 5 and consumer reports predicted reliability ratings with a less than average overall reliability score owner satisfaction rating was equally unimpressive at 2 out of five though owners loved its acceleration and handling [Music] the f-pace also tanked in the owner's perception of its value which earned a dismal rating most of the problems f-pace owners cited in the survey were related to the vehicle's infotainment software or noises and leaks not mechanical but there were hardware issues too including reports of the engine overheating the jaguar f-pace ranked seventh from the bottom on reliability in its class number six land rover discovery sport eight years after launch the discovery sport remains land rover's best-selling suv worldwide one big reason it's low price point compared to other rovers but unfortunately the discovery sports affordability comes with many quality concerns consumer reports gives the land rover discovery sport a one out of five rating for predicted reliability and places it on the bottom six of the compact luxury suvs the most frequently reported problems in the land rover suv are brakes electrics gearbox clutch and the infotainment system cr's annual auto survey results show poor owner satisfaction for the last three model years one user reported there are several annoying rattles and squeaks in the cabin and a new gearbox was required at 21 000 miles another reported endless trips back to the dealer with the six-month-old discovery sport the 2020 discovery sport has been recalled twice by nhtsa for instrument cluster malfunction and short circuit issues [Music] number five land rover range rover evoque yes another land rover in general range rovers aren't known for their reliability but there are too many problems with these models consumer reports says don't be sucked in by the evokes attractive styling flashy interior and land rover brand cachet this overpriced luxury suv has a disappointing drivetrain a rough and bumpy ride and confounding controls and calling the new evoque as the least talented luxury compact suv yet the most expensive in the market evoke gets lowest predicted reliability ratings and a poor overall score [Music] according to the repair pal website the average total annual cost for repairs and maintenance on a land rover range rover evoque is one thousand one hundred two dollars which is way above average repairpal mentions while the frequency of repairs is higher than normal the severity of those issues is average so your range rover evoke may have a few more shop visits when compared to other models automatic gearbox problems are quite common on the evoke followed by infotainment and climate system issues owners reported suspension problems as well nhtsa recalled the 2020 evoke nine times for various issues including for electrical system and suspension number four land rover range rover velar you may notice a common name here this is the third and last land rover on this list not all of land rover's cars are unreliable but it's just a fact that many of its models aren't that reliable according to their owners although range rovers are indeed luxurious and quite capable off-road they're mostly bought as status symbols as opposed to actual off-roading and dependability many rich and famous people who don't mind reliability issues love land rovers range rover velar has a slick exterior design plenty of space for cargo posh cabin but velar's blase driving demeanor doesn't match its natty attire the velar shares a platform with its corporate cousin the jaguar f-base which may partly explain why velar has ended up on this list consumer reports gives lowest predicted reliability for land rover's newest compact suv velar and placed it on the bottom four for reliability in its class the most common issues on the velar compact suv were non-engine electrics and the bodywork other trouble spots include the climate system brakes infotainment system and interior trim nhtsa recalled the 2020 velar once for high beam malfunction consumers also filed complaints for velar suv on nhtsa for electrical system and minor engine issues car and driver calls it electronic glitches galore lazy powertrain responses obtuse infotainment system cheap seat for 67 000. number three lincoln corsair introduced last year as a replacement for the mkc small crossover suv the stylish corsair is the latest entry in the small luxury suv segment that shares a platform with the ford escape but more upscale corsair comes with well-appointed cabin comfortable ride and lively powertrain [Music] unfortunately the lincoln corsair shares the same reliability problems of ford escape cr rated the lincoln compact crossover one out of five for predicted reliability a common problem owners reported was body integrity users experience squeaks rattles loose or cracked seals and weather stripping in water leaks another common problem power equipment issues such as cruise control keyless entry remote engine start and security system related issues 2020 lincoln corsair was recalled three times by nhtsa for multiple issues nhtsa also received several complaints for corsair's electrical system failure and brakes [Music] number 2. alfa romeo stelvio alfa romeo's stelvio is stimulating to drive and has special appeal for drivers in search of a rewarding road experience its 280 horsepower turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder engine isn't unusual in this class but its gutsy acceleration and raspy exhaust note appeals to anyone [Music] sadly this excitement comes with dependability issues consumer reports gives it one out of five predicted reliability and places it second from the bottom on reliability ranking among compact luxury suvs primary trouble spots for this crossover drive system fuel system electric system ac and power equipment issues owners complained of drive shaft or axle problems cv joint issues all-wheel drive component malfunctions driveline vibrations [Music] number one tesla model y [Music] it may surprise many of you to see tesla model y on top of this list in fact model y scored very well on cr's road test yet they gave a poor reliability rating if you research the model-wise reliability issues are not related to the major components of the car but they are all tied to the vehicle's build quality uneven panel gaps misaligned trim and paint defects are the common ones to look for according to owner complaints this may sound negligible however if you look closely some issues have serious safety concerns tesla model y owner's love of their new ev model y is offset by disappointing quality issues a few new model y owners reported their suv's back seats and seat belts were not attached to their bases a reddit user indescribable reported that his dad's brand new model wide glass roof flew off on the highway just two hours after his father took delivery of his new tesla water leaks in the cabin is another common problem there are reports of
