hello the YouTube I'm David with the David West Channel I wanted to talk to you about fire rolls some more I talked to a lot of people that are struggling to learn the technique and they try to they tell me how they're trying natural fibers that they find out in the woods and natural fillers and they want me to tell them more natural fibers and filters that would work if you first starting out and you're first trying to learn the fire roll you need to start off with cotton and ashes first you need to get a feel for it you need to get a feel for the smell of it the sensation the feel of the roll under the board's if you're struggling to learn fire roll just go right back to the basics if you've never tried it get your cotton ball 100% cotton grab it by the sides and just keep picking at it and you'll be able to see where the leading edge is at go ahead and open it up sometimes they can be hard to get along with like this one here if you work with it you can get it open and you're only going to need half of this so tear it in half and then you're going to put about a third of the TSP on about a third of the cotton you make sure you get just a little bit on the board because that will get on the outside of the roll and that'll allow the board's the top and bottom boards to be able to grip the roll without smashing it flat or sliding over the top of it forward stroke with your hand to tighten it up a little bit forward stroke with the board maybe one time to tighten it up a little bit more and then about ten or twelve passes to get ignition and if you don't see it smoking hurry and go right back and and roll this some more if you don't see you smoking let's do another that's a very small half of a cotton ball but it should be enough once again half cotton ball third of a teaspoon of ashes put it on about a third of the row ten or twelve passes no smoke so you see how easy it is it's very easy now if you want a bigger hotter longer-lasting ember then you can use the whole cotton ball and once again you'll put about two thirds of a teaspoon you're not going to need much ashes on a third of the roll and do the same thing we just did on these half rolls let's put this over here maybe maybe I'm gonna get smoke smoking up nose so bad once again this this really didn't open up very smoothly and nicely but it should work just fine now probably roll it about 20 times you could tell by the feel of it you can tell by the sound of it and you could tell by the smell of it once you've practice fire roll enough now those those those usually last a long time before they burn out and you can almost see how much extra heat it's putting off all right so I hope you go back to the basics if you're struggling with fire oh go back to the basics and you'll see how easy cotton and ashes is thanks for joining me on this one we'll catch you on the next you
