rotoscoping and motion tracking two very simple Concepts I can show you in After Effects so we have our footage with the camera obviously wobbling around and we have our explosion now if we were to put the explosion just right on top it's not going to look so good select our footage come over here to the tracker window hit track motion that's going to give you this track Point pick a high contrast area of our footage now let's hit analyze forward and when that's finished let's stick it to something layer new null object edit Target select the null apply okay now let's unhide our explosion and use the parent pick whip to select our null now our next problem is that the explosion should be behind our actor select your footage hit Ctrl D to duplicate put the second one on top and let's come up here and grab our Roto brush tool double click your footage paint over him until his entire body is selected now scrub through your frames to make sure it grabs your actor and make any adjustments along the way click freeze and our explosion is now behind our actor
