in this video we're going to learn how to use Adobe Rush in only 10 minutes I'm going to show you everything you need to know in order to edit your first video in Adobe Rush but besides that I'm also going to share with you a few tips and tricks that you don't need to know but you want to know and I'm talking about slow motion speed ramping the cinematic black bars all the good stuff so make sure that you watch until the end if you want to get all of these good tips and tricks if we haven't met before my name is Vela so lovely to meet you this channel is all about videos if you want to create better videos and I'm pretty sure that you do then make sure to take a look around and if you like what you see make sure to subscribe and the notification about so you don't miss out on new uploads before we start I want to clarify that yes Adobe Rush is a part of the Creative Cloud but there is also a free version that you can download in either the Google Play Store or the App Store you can use it on your Android phone point your Android phone you can use it on your iPhone or on your iPad I use Adobe rush on my iPad but like I said you can also use it on your phone I'm going to show everything how to do it on your iPad the interface is a little bit different on your phone but all the options are still there so you're still able to follow along another important note that I want to make before we start is that you have to have access to your file so if you shoot everything on a camera you want to either upload it to my creative cloud or Dropbox or you just want to store it locally on your phone or iPad okay so let's open Adobe brush and then right here tap on the plus sign and add your media now you want to select your media you want to choose a project name and then tap on create I am NOT importing my music yet and the main reason is that Adobe Rush will put everything you import on your timeline and that makes it a little bit messy if you want you can mute the track or you can just mute the music but I like to work this way because it keeps it clean and organized let's explore the interface this plus sign right here is to add media a voiceover or a title then the archive box is basically your project bin if you work in Premiere Pro you know what a project then is this is where you can find all of your files alright if we go down here we have the cut tool deduplicate to and the trash tool and these are her I think quite self-explanatory and then we have an expand tool I always enable this we have a time line tool and I also enable this because I want to see all of the tracks and a cursor + tool now this tool you use if you want to select multiple clips alright let's go over to the right side we see titles transitions color speed audio transform but all of these things we'll get into later before you begin editing right here you can change the aspect ratio of the video so if for example you want to edit a quick video for your Instagram story or your Instagram feed that you can tap right here and you can choose a portrait or a square alright now it is time to cut our video so the first thing that I always do is I zoom in by pinching on the screen and then we hold our timeline and we move it to where we want to cut to be then click on the scissors and as you can see now it is separated so now what I want to do is I want to delete this part so I tap on it and then I tap on the trash bin now if you want to cut a part of the clip what you want to do is first cut it and then tap on this duplicate icon when I said that we're going to create our first video I didn't mean a boring basic video I meant a cool video because in Adobe Rush you can also edit your b-roll if you have some clips that you want to use as b-roll so you only want the video part of the clip you want to delete the audio tap and hold on that clip and then you get this little menu and they can tap on separate audio now you can delete the audio and you can move the video to track number two and this is how you create little b-roll sequences which is awesome if we want to zoom in or reposition a clip we can tap on this transform button now if you want to put two Clips next to each other so if you want to create a split screen what you can do is put one of the videos on top of the other one and then open up the advanced menu and then crop the videos and position them next to each other now that we're done with a cut I think that it's time for some text so we're going to tap on the T icon right here and then choose a template there are so many different styles and templates there are even call-outs and a subscribe button it is super useful I'm going to use the subscribe button for this video so what I'm going to do is I'm going to tap on it and then I can change the text unfortunately or while unfortunately I have 17,000 subscribers and not 149 thousand subscribers so I need to change that next you may want to add some transitions now the transitions in Adobe Rush are very limited but in my opinion you don't really need any other transitions like those star transitions so 2004 in order to add a transition tap on the clip that you want to add a transition to and then just tap on the transition what you will see when you add a transition to a clip is that the transition will be added to the beginning and the end of the clip now if you don't want this just go to the beginning of the clip and delete the transition there and now you'll see that it's only at the end of the clip before we start color correcting and color grading our video we want to make sure that it sounds as cool as it looks so we're going to edit the audio and we're going to add in our music in order to save time I am going to select all of the dialogue clips by tapping on this button right here and then tapping on all of the clips that I want to add to my selection and then I go to the audio tab if we open up advanced we can change the audio type if needed we can enhance the speech for women or men we can reduce echo whatever is needed to make your video sound a lot better and because I selected all of the clips as you can see all of those clips are affected if I increase the volume the volume of all of those clips has increased now it's time for our music Rush already has a small built-in library with music tracks so if you don't want to use those music tracks to make sure that you've downloaded it and loaded it on your iPad or your phone and import it to your project I already downloaded it song from epidemic sound so I'm going to add that now as I said before as you can see right now every time that you import something it will be added to the timeline so now we can just move it around and the default setting is that the music is really loud you want to make sure that we can hear ourselves when we talk so let's edit that really go back to the audio tab or double tap on the music track and then you can either change the volume here or you can check auto duck what is does is that it will reduce the volume when you're talking and it will increase the volume when no one is talking so as you can see on the timeline and this is where the music will be played at clip volume and this is where it's ducked or in other words the volume is lower to whatever volume we set it to super easy something else is pretty cool that I've recently found out is that you can actually use one of the transitions that we looked at earlier you can use that for your song so for example a cross dissolve transition you can add that to your song and they can change the duration of the transition now why is this cool because it works as a fade in and fade out it is a subtle fade but I still think that it's pretty cool the next step is color grading and color grading is a little bit challenging in Adobe Rush but if you film in a neutral picture profile which most of you probably are if you're just filming with your phone or just using the footage straight out of camera and Tramel doing anything difficult with log footage and stuff then this will probably suffice there are some built-in presets but I never use them what I do is I go to the Edit tab and then right here I use the sliders to adjust the brightness contrast and purger etc and if you go down here to advanced you can even add a few effects like the faded look or vignette we're done but we're not because as I said at the beginning of the video I promised you that I was going to give you some tips and tricks to make your videos even better the first tip is about b-roll and cinematic black bars if you want to create some cinematic back bars you can do that by going to the transform tab and then tap on advanced and then you can crop the top and the bottom this will only work if you don't put it on top of another clip because then instead of black bars you just see the underlying clip in those bars so instead what you want to do is you want to make sure that you put the b-roll on the first track or you can create a black solid or you can import a black solid color you can put that underneath your b-roll the next tip is about unlinking or muting sound and I already kind of showed you this but let's dive into it a little bit deeper if you want to unli an audio track just tap and hold on the clip and then tap on separate audio now you can move the audio and video freely or you can delete either of them and if you want to unlink a video this is also what you do now if you want to mute a sound or you want to mute the entire track you can tap on this sound icon right here and it will mute the entire track but if you just want to mute the audio of one clip you tap on that clip and then you tap on this audio icon right here and select mute and of course I'm saving the best for last which is slow motion and speed ramping most of us loves the motion and if you want to slow down a clip all you have to do is go to the speed icon right here and then change the speed of the video but what is even better is that we can create a speed ramp by checking the ramp box now if you look at your timeline you will see two speed markers you can drag them to wherever you want the speed ramp to happen and then change the range speed to however fast or slow you want the ramp to be alright it's time to export our video let's tap on the share tab right here and then select your preferred settings and hit export if you enjoyed this video then check out this video right here and of course make sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell so you won't miss out on new uploads another very important note another very important note another very important not another very important note what the hell I don't know how techie youtubers do this
