LAYFLAT Hammock Tent camping in the RAIN [ Cozy, Relaxing SOLO trip ]

Night Cat was so kind to send me one of their “Lay Flat Hammock Tents” to try. It packs really small, so I think you could also easily use it for lightweight hike camping. The weather is a bit crazy today. The rain comes and goes all day long. Ted prefers to chill in the car while I setup the camp. The setup is so simple. I use my car instead of a second tree because the location doesn’t have 2 trees available. Let’s see how it goes, hope it will work fine. Now this is an interesting part which makes sleeping in a hammock so much more comfortable. Thanks to the second set of straps on each side secured to the poles I just installed, the hammock is much flatter and more stable compared to traditional ones. First test, checking if the roof rack is fine. Everything seems good to go. Wow, this is so much more stable than I thought. It’s going to be a rainy day, but no worries, the hammock tent got it’s own rain fly too. Ok, need to cover the back of the Jeep as it seems the rain won’t let go today. The hammock tent is nice and dry under that heavy rain proof fly. I like how you can easily install a little awning with couple of poles. Inside: little pockets, hooks for light and even handles to hold on, everything you need. I also got the inflatable mattress and sleeping bag from Night Cat. You can attach a hammock to a hammock xD To get more storage space under the hammock tent. I am a part time side sleeper so I was positively surprised that I can actually sleep on the side in this hammock tent. Ted seem to be comfortable in the new tent too! Time to take a break and enjoy the nature with a nice XPA. It’s time to some “Lunch / Dinner” Ted’s food first. Ok I am risking it, I hope it’s not going to rain anymore. I would love to cook the dinner on the campfire. It’s winter here in Australia, surprisingly tonight is not that cold. Ted’s food is done and cooling down. It’s time for my food, I am cooking Spaghetti Bolognese. Smells so good, I can’t wait to dig in! Ted is digging right into it, he seems to like it. What an interesting day with a new setup. So cosy! With me and Ted in the hammock tent we are still way under the allowed weight of 200kg for this hammock. Good morning! It’s 6am. All the sounds (except music) in this video are original. This is how Australian morning sounds like :) It’s too early, everything is wet, there is fog everywhere. I am going to make a hot cup of coffee. The views are awesome. The air is so fresh and crisp.
