LAUNDRY ROOM CLOSET MAKEOVER PROJECT!! - Antique Washboard Collection & Vintage Decor

folks come on over we have an exciting show for you I don't know how we're going to top this but I'm doing a laundry makeover for the queen guys check it out it's going to be good step by step but we'll make it quick right here on my take on home and Gard hey thanks for coming over guys doing a makeover this hasn't been touched since we moved here and it has the original wall color as you can see I'm going to show you around and as terrible as some of this project is the floor's been all cleaned the queen did clean the floor I am going to take this is something everybody should do if you forget about it I want to tell you bad there's a good reason take your Dy fire vent hose apart and vacuum the whole thing out I knew a couple people that had fires because of that foolishness the house didn't burn down but it filled up with gagging smoke and the carpets were ruined and on and on so but here's our new paint color i Custom mixed with stuff I have and it's a wonderful sage green that's what was wanted I think it's going to be nice I have a cedar board I'm going to paint the same color as the wall here I got to put that up pretty much it'll be centered and we're going to make this boring space really cute with Miss Angela's collection of primitive and washboards and mom's laundry all righty let's jump in and see what I got to do I'll show you real quick and then I'll jump ahead and get it done okay guys we'll Dive Right In here here's my paint roller setup some tools screw gun energy drink all the important things you need for this job shelf brackets COA tape roll stud find easy boy easy and I'm going to first fill in all the old nail holes here's our new sage green paint going to use and you can see some of the marks from the washing machine hoses and so on and this is looking pretty good but I'm going to call talk that baseboard I'm going to vacuum out like I say this dryer event [Music] okay guys here we are with the Shelf installed and all painted up back up so you can see and this is going to dry everything's cleaned out repainted and ready to make cute and let's look at what we're going to use oh I can't wait to get the house back together cuz it just everything is upside down here's Angela's cute primitive mostly washboards collection that's going to go in and I'm going to do my magic and create a beautiful laundry area we got new Bins to put her cleaning supplies in and all those things it you need to have a happy home she's cleaned these all up and put a paste wax on most and it's going to be cute all righty so when this paint dries tomorrow morning I'm going to be putting this together [Music] okay guys so what's the big deal about a laundry area it's rather drab and could be quite boring right we're not going there you know we can't do it so I'm going to lay this out for some evangelist scrub board Antiques and we're going to start making this cute right now I'm going to jump ahead and lay out what's my objective here we have large washboards and smaller so you see I've designed this shelf Mo mostly centered on the room and I know I can get the bigger ones even on the end of the shelf so this is what I'm doing we have like four bigger ones like this a couple of cute signs different Farmhouse touches and War not Farmhouse but we do love to take a peek at it because it is cute here in there even for us so that's what we're doing let me get going and start laying this out each board is going to have two finishing nails to hold it up okay so what am I trying to accomplish here and how am I thinking about what I'm doing anybody can hang up a bunch of stuff on a wall right here you can notice I'm taking in consideration the sizes and the weights and the color weight too you heard me talk about that color weight is important as well so two of the larger boards that'll fit in between the wall and the Shelf I put one on each end we want to balance now we have two more look at this wonderful thing for an antique we love the glass insert ones the best you probably do too now we have two that are kind of whitewashed real natural natural wood here of course when I built my shelf i h it dead on level and all I had to do was measure down from there cuz I know it's right with my tag Nails leave plenty out so even if there's a little vibration there's plenty of nail to hang that on how we doing so far now I'm left with with a bigger piece like this that I can use on an end wall there's other little Artful pieces and so on as well but then we have baskets for on top of the shelf and I'm going to add all her little cute little miniature washboards here there's at least four that I can see and what she's done is try to have different ones you know you know there's no reason to have two the same here in fact there was a couple that were the same so they're going to end up going in our store where do I have room for these smaller ones look at even on the Shelf maybe look at this we'll see and the little mini maybe in between let's see what I can do little crowded there with those save some time what else have we got just to show you there's some of these cute old soaped tins and little signs like this everybody's probably needs that sign help wanted right there's some of these cute tins and Victorian style reproduction tins so we're going to get them in in here too look at [Music] this okay so here's where we're at so far hopefully you can see some weighted balance and some color balance and of course at the end we'll get in close and show you everything now I'm going to start adding some of these other elements these tins and some color now have one more little board and I think I want it on the Shelf we're going to see how much room we have CU those baskets are going to dictate that I already think it probably can't go there okay we're getting down to it now just finishing up with some little decorative touches we got all the things you need laundry soap and you see why I chose to paint the Shelf is to not take away from the little artifacts the decor and maybe the baskets but we have things that we just absolutely have to have here that go the little 30s child's ironing board this one has your sprays oxy cleans and Shout out and all that shout the iron the little kids clothes pin oh my goodness and this was my mother's when she was a little girl some of you know it you've heard it before but can you imagine now these are oh 30s or 40s just into that time period all right there's a wonderful basket with a again some of the only primitive we're going to keep little child rolling pen a wooden spoon all primitive all wooden a child's Masher when she's helping Mom look at the size I got to get those in Nostalgia add its finest and a little wicker clothes basket to carry the clothes too good how about this here I'll tell you we wanted little wooden bins but it was going to take too long to get them here and cost three times as much so that turned out to be quite annoying so we didn't go with those now I'm going to pick up this cardboard push these machines back I'm going to have to take you now and show you all around there's things behind us too you can't see that have changed okay guys let's look at our makeover for [Music] today it's a bit different yes it's quite different than the old laundry [Music] before we'll get in there close now there might be a couple of brooms and mops going here but we don't need to see them right now [Music] we've got a collection right along with our [Music] necessity I hear some banjo music with this one how about the old rug beater oh boy it's really something the Primitive way of [Music] life the way our ancestors had to let live and be civilized and clean their [Music] clothes and she's got a cute collection of different washboards and if we had the room like you guys might have seen at the flea market she loved the hand done washing machine the old wooden that cracks me up too and she wants a quilt rack for the different grandmas quilts and things that are in a trunk you know and you can't see them all nostalgic just looking at it makes you think of those [Music] people so guys we hope you liked our makeover video today I think you can see the big difference [Music] now folks we do have a quick announcement we want to mention that we're going to take the next three Wednesdays off like most of you we want to escape to the country or whatever you're doing on vacation that makes you not be here that's what we want too so we're going to take advantage of that and
