hey guys welcome back to my channel if you don't know me then my name is shha and today we are going to cover a very important topic which is cost of living in Germany and for a couple and as a student as we both were student in Germany uh I guess until this year he was student and until last year I was a student in Germany so we are going to give you both the cost of student living in Germany and the cost of a couple living in Germany so keep on watching this video because we are going to cover all the major cost and all the miscellaneous cost that you could expect while living in Germany and let's start okay so the first cost that I want to cover which is the major cost of living in Germany for a student as well as a couple is the rent right rent comprises of at least 20 to even 30% of your uh living cost in Germany so what is the cost of our apartment so right now we pay ,200 for 2 bhk apartment yeah and it is 90 M Square apartment by the way if you want to have a tour of this apartment I have already created a video that you can watch here I will link it um yeah it's a beautiful apartment go and check that video out after watching this video so this is €1,200 apartment in dorf it inclusive yeah inclusive of of energy cost internet water water yeah yeah so it is there are two types of rent uh warm rent and cult rent so warm rent includes the cost of the utilities and uh cult rent is just the rent of the apartment but this is warm rent so €1,200 covers everything it's quite cheap or really I don't I don't think so it's cheap uh it's dled off so compared to dled off it's recent reasonably priced apart from that what is the other major cost H if you are a student if you are a student then you also pay the uh health insurance yeah what was your health insurance as a student it was highest barmar is always at the highest range so I guess 115 or something really okay for me it is TK still uh it is uh TK because we are not registered right now as a couple in Germany so uh we would do it very soon and we would let you know the process of registering your marriage in Germany once we go through the process but for me uh it is TK and with TK I was paying it started with €90 and went up every year and At Last I was paying 0 or 105 I don't remember so 105 I would say so the these are public insurance and every student pay for health insurance compulsory but as a working person you don't have to pay health insurance because your employee deducts the health insurance from the salary so right now if I see the salary slip the insurance is around €350 on your side yes uh the the health insurance total yeah no I it is I guess so €350 per month almost 600 really M 600 oh my God so we are paying according to Orin no no no he's checking right now like our laptop is in front so I can say that we are paying around 350 I am paying €350 how much Lo store is very high yeah fren is 370 yeah that's what I said around 350 370 as an individual you pay as your health insurance which is deducted from your salary but as a couple if we register ourself uh as a married couple then we would be paying 370 in total yeah basically we will have one one health insurance family family health insurance so as a couple you pay less that's that's the advantage of uh registering your marriage and getting married to save you get the benefit in the Tex so let's move forward to our next category which is the major cost again is the food so food comprises of um yeah grocery shopping basically I know Arjun is a foodie so we will talk about him individually later but as a a couple right now us I guess it's around 300 400 sometimes depending on yeah of course if you if you buy Indian groceries like Dal paneer and everything from Indian store then it would be of course higher cost for you but let's say 300300 is the uh average cost uh that goes into Grocery and as a student how much were you uh spending uh on grocery I have never calculated it but maybe around 150 or something okay which is quite high as a student because I have seen many student even uh compromising or even spending as as less as 50 per month I have seen some of my batchmates doing that uh but for me it was around 10020 if I am like buying whatever I want to or biyo items because bio is expensive so he's a foodie 150 for foodie and normal I would say1 is for one individual and as a couple €300 because he's eating twice as me 100 plus [Laughter] 200 okay so far if you're enjoying this video please give us a like because that motivates us to bring more and more useful topics to you and let's move on to our next category of spend so next category is shopping so as we both like to go shopping a lot there is a separate budget that we have for shopping as well so um how much do we spend on shopping as a couple as a couple I would say the total budget is around or budget or like spent not budget but spent uh is around 250 mhm yeah around 300 both of us 300 sometimes we spend more than this sometimes it's less than that but average we would say it's around €300 right yeah yeah yeah and as a student it's it's quite less I guess it's quite less 50 I would say to not every month not every month because as a student you know that you are not earning much and you're saving and you have loan sometimes so as a student you should have this kind of mindset that these things will come once you start earning you can even spend €500,000 on shopping but that time is saved for once you start earning not now so as a student I was also sometimes not even spending 50 so this is something which depends on your mindset depends on your lifestyle depends on internet and uh mobile bills that's relatively very cheap it does not yeah bothers in your your monthly expenses that much so for me right now we have our company phone of course but uh for our personal use we have our personal number and I pay around $9.99 Euro for 10 GB of plan which I yeah it was on Black Friday okay and what is the uh internet provider or this it's a wiim I have also got wiim so wiim is the cheapest most reliable and uh good deal sometimes I don't have a good deal so mine is also wiim I have a long-term contract which I am not able to come out of because I forget to uh basically stop the subscription so mine is also wiim and I'm paying €7.99 €799 and 3 GB data per month and it gets over like like this because 3gb for a month is nothing other than that what is the other uh expenses that students or as a couple we are doing dout D out douts yes activities so yeah so how much did you spend as a student on dine outs or activities maybe let's say miscellaneous cost these are miscellaneous costs right uh 50 a month I guess as a student yeah so that would be an average okay what you p d out activities went somewhere so it's like that but for us I guess also it's the same right I guess just 50 for D outs today also we are ordering it's Friday night I guess uh as a couple we almost spent around €200 spend €200 yeah a month for our D outs and maybe some acane activities or right now but I guess it totally depends on the person and couple uh but as a couple now we have to also think about holiday cost because since it's summertime and also we are living in the heart of Europe it's a very good time to spend money on vacations and that's why uh so next weekend we are going to Venice for my birthday and it's going to be quite expensive so we have to separate that budget as a couple for your holidays uh for these kind of leisure uh vacations basically at least if you are in Europe I assuming you would be taking two vacations a year on an average two at least so it would cost around um depending on where you're going basically it's a separate thing I don't want to talk about it okay the last thing that I want to cover for student is the semester contribution yes and uh as a couple we have passed that stage so we are not paying anything but as a student every 6 months you have to pay this semester contribution and if you are belonging to a public university which has no tution fees it is going to be around how 250 even it varies so sometimes I've seen uh Technical University of English start thi has €40 42 depends it depends on the University course uh so for me as well it was around 230 it was a public university so it may vary even in public University from €40 to 100,500 yeah so that is the cost of semester contribution that you pay apart from that if you are from public univers uh from private university the cost is super high the other cost as a couple but not as a student is the transportation cost that we haven't spoken about and do you want to talk about it yeah right now we have a dut land ticket so it's €49 but anyways we get a concession I guess for our from our employ from our employer yeah job ticket so we paid around 42 433 and we can cover almost whole D dorf and right now it's 49 dland ticket the whole Germany whole deut you can cover in that 49 but for student it's free it's free it's free yes semester contribution covers that so that's why student doesn't has to bear that cost uh you have free access to transportation in that particular state or city where your University is so that cost is not included for a student but for a working employee or and I can't think of any other other cost right no of course the cost depends on your lifestyle on your way of living living you can go and pay rent uh even less if you go for a smaller apartment this one is 90 M square like I said City and far from City Center you can even get it for 800 this size big uh maybe not furnished then also it would be cheaper and you can pay at 5,000 in the city center in dorf at Kix so it depends on your lifestyle on your choices on your way of living basically so these are the basic costs that uh a couple can spend so total I would say I guess it would be around like on an average if you would say then it would be around 1,500 to 2,000 for us a couple yeah a couple can survive decent cost decent cost I would say 15500 to 2,000 is a good amount for a couple to live in Germany and for a student it would be around I would say 800 2,000 1,000 even 800 is higher I would say 700,000 or yeah I guess and depends on City basally when I was in nous it was around 550 600 may I don't want to get your hopes really high so just ignore this nous and St two people in same room we were friends so so they were basically dividing the room cost so it was less expensive so but don't go with this number don't go with this number 700 to, or 1,000 is a good amount for a student to uh survive in a decent way uh live in a decent way not survive sorry uh live in a decent way in Germany and let us know how did you find this video did you like it I hope you liked it please give it a like and also keep us motivated by commenting which topic you would like to see next I am thinking of uh of recession in Germany because that is the Hot Topic right now so I would be covering that but apart from that which topics you would like to see and if you have any questions post it in the chat and I would also be covering which job or what his uh job is currently uh as you know he's graduated uh from renewable energy so what he's doing which is a secret so we'll cover that in next next video and until then bye have a nice weekend [Music] guys
