the best hotels in las vegas i'm chris this is yellow productions and in today's live stream we're going to be joined by a very special guest via the magic of the internet right here we have chris pomparelli aka pomsey chris welcome to today's live stream hello thank you for having me yeah absolutely uh and so i'm sure many of you here already know pompsy but if you know um pompsy's uh las vegas vlogger pretty new on the scene to las vegas vlogs and what i think is really cool that popsy's doing is he's doing a whole hotel review series on las vegas making his way through all the different strip hotels and off strip hotels uh and you know because he's he's also fairly new to vegas bringing a pretty good visitor's perspective and he's got a film background and so they're pretty neat vlogs as well and so i just wanted to get right into it uh and ask you uh pumsee how many hotels so far have you stayed in in las vegas so i just tallied this up before we jumped on here i think i'm tonight with tonight included it'll be 35 different vegas hotels 35 that's impressive and you say tonight included where where where are you coming to us from here i'll put this up so people can see the whole spot there oh yeah there you go so i'm staying at the signature at mgm um which is kind of on the strip it's like a street behind the strip but uh that'll be the next vlog yeah that's cool i've i've heard a lot of good things about the signature so i am looking forward to your vlog on that one uh so the format for today's show we're gonna spend about the first half of it talking about hotels we're going to spend the second half of it talking about life in las vegas uh some of pompey's favorite things to do things to eat what life is like there and then of course if you're on the live stream i'll be taking questions uh from y'all so uh pumps my first question for you is about hotels what do you think is the best luxury hotel on the strip your favorite or your favorites yeah so i actually made a video about a month or so ago that i list the top 10 hotels in vegas so if you want to check that out for more of an answer you can anyone can check that out but pretty much i have it down to three there's like a top three and in my opinion it's kind of based on your personal preference but i believe that the top three luxury hotels on the strip are the venetian palazzo number one that's my personal favorite and then there's the win encore and then the third one would be the cosmo and that's why i think those are the best but i also have a couple honorable mentions would be the arya mandalay bay and delano and then bellagio so i know it's kind of a lot of answers but to me like those are the best of the best in vegas for sure as far as luxury yeah that's cool and i actually think your your luxury list lines up pretty well to my luxury list because you know i've got it i've got the video about the best luxury hotels as well and i put venetian and palazzo above win and encore which i i think you did in your list as well why why do you put the venetian palazzo above the win encore because i think that's that's almost a controversial choice because i think there's many people who would say they love the win in the encore above the venetian and the palazzo yeah i don't i mean i have before i moved here i i had a one of my jobs we would always do it like uh every summer that we'd have a gig at the venetian and i would stay at the venetian so i think there's a little bit of bias there for me and plus i like the aesthetic the italian aesthetic um but i i don't know i just i just think it's overall a better better better vibe the win is just it's super duper luxury it's the style is so different than the venetian so i can understand if people prefer that but in my opinion i just i don't know i think i think the venetian is just so cool you know yeah yeah i agree i i love being like transported to a whole different place uh i'm looking forward to i don't know when i'll go with the way the world is right now but i'm looking forward to in macau the sands corporation that owns the venetian is building the londoner so they're building a whole hotel that's going to be themed like london yeah which is obviously not something they have in vegas so i think that'll be neat uh all right so let's go let's go down here yeah not from the luxury hotels let's go down to cheap hotels question uh question i get all the time is what do you think the best cheap hotel on the strip is so what's what's your favorite cheap hotel on the strip my favorite cheap hotel um i would say is new york new york because usually it doesn't feel like a cheap hotel at all it's a really nice place but at the same time it's always kind of like one of the cheapest options so um and you know i'm also biased because i like new york city a lot i'm sure a lot of you guys do too um but yeah that would be my option i think you can get a really good deal and stay at a really nice place there so you you you put cheap in air quotes why why did why did you put cheap in there because there's like you could stay at the travel lodge but maybe that might not be good like new york new york is about about as good as you're gonna get for cheap right exactly that's why i put the air quotes because i think there's some places that i don't even know about that are probably a lot cheaper you know so yeah yeah for sure my my vegas horror story staying at like a really cheap hotel was the one where like i check in i ask for a quiet room the guy says there are no quiet rooms here i'm like oh that's good and then i go in my room and the air conditioner's dripping and i go to the front desk and tell him that and he hands me a bucket i'm like i i got what i paid for on this one that is funny yeah for sure what was the place what was that place uh i don't i think it was called the saint tropez it's like uh and it's not on the strip it's like if you know i'm sure you know where the hard rock hotel used to be right now the virgin hotel it's like right across the street from the virgin hotel basically like mccarran airport has like a corner and then the hotel is right in the corner of that i it was like a big convention week and so it was the only place that had rooms under a hundred dollars i also get what i got by booking last minute you know uh gotcha do you have any like hotel horror horror story stays in vegas uh just just one kind of i over the summer i wanted to make a video about the cheat literally the cheapest hotel that i could find and so the one that came up cheapest was sixteen dollars a night it was called the golden gate which is golden gate casino it's like it's actually the first hotel ever in in vegas it's pretty historic i didn't know that at the time but anyway um i get there and it's basically like the room was from 1950 and they just it's just been clean for 60 years you know what i mean like um so you could when i was in there you could you could feel i'm not like a ghost person a horror person by any stretch of imagination but i felt like there was you could feel the things that have happened in there like that's how i felt yeah um right yeah exactly yeah needless to say i didn't sleep there but um that was my my horror story it just uh yeah anyway yeah that's that's that's one of those you know obvious a lot of people know i did a video on the worst cheap hotels in las vegas than people like chris why why didn't you why didn't you show us about you spending the night in these hotels and i'm like i've stayed in some of them that i don't want to stay again and i i don't there are people who do that that's that's just not for me um yeah all right so let's let's go to the other end now uh what do you think the best hotel is for someone who wants a view best view hotel hotel with you yeah there's so many there's so many but i would just say probably the cosmo because it's a you know you have your balcony um and you're in the middle of the strip so um it's just there's really cool views there for sure and there's one entire side that gets an amazing view of the fountains the bellagio fountains like you know all night long all day long so that's that's just so cool yeah and if you guys didn't notice actually the thumbnail for this video was pompsy on the balcony and the cosmopolitan yeah that is true um okay going off the strip uh best hotel in downtown vegas it's probably cliche but i would go with circa right now just because you know it's it's just so impressive circa is the newest hotel for those who don't know it's i think it was like six or seven billion dollar project that's insane yeah they have an amazing pool area with the literally the biggest sports book in the entire planet i believe indoors and outdoors they have a giant led screen in the pool area where you can just be watching games and there's bars and there's als it's it's insane um so i would say that but that's like kind of cheating because it's brand new and everything like that um it besides that i would go with the plaza which is the one that's at the very end of the fremont street experience um i just love that place that place is awesome yeah yeah what do you i know you recently did a video about the plaza but what's your what's your favorite thing about it the plaza my favorite thing um you know i think it's just so unique like they have so number one the plaza always has a fireworks show for fourth of july and for new year's so i that's always a really special uh area at those times but also they have giant murals on on multiple sides of the plaza by a famous artist so it's like really neat you don't really see that in addition to that there's like they have a pickleball court right next to their pool which is super random but pretty cool they even they have a section of their in their casino their slot machines they have a section that's dedicated to a slot machine youtuber named um brian christopher slots yeah so they have a whole section dedicated to him with his face on it it's like called he has his own led sign so that's pretty cool they have an a super gorgeous um show showroom you know like an old-school vegas showroom where they do stand up and have events there so that's nice they have great food there there's just a lot of really special things about that place and like how they how they treated me being there um was amazing they treated me better than any other place to be honest with you that i've ever stayed in so yeah i know pompey i think it sounds like we need to we need to talk to christopher sullivan because he's got the same name as wright chris's or all vegas youtubers have to be named chris and then second about how we get our own slot machines since we you know we share the name that'd be cool yeah uh let's take a question from the live chat uh carlos wants to know which one is better excalibur or luxor i like the luxor why yeah i like the i do like the excalibur as well but i would say luxor it's just such a unique building you know the the pyramids is really cool um uh yeah i don't know i guess just aesthetically it's just so cool that would be my answer yeah i i i agree with you uh i think that like the excalibur to me um feels a little tired like as a hotel it's tired the luxor i just i think it's neat to stay in a pyramid you know and there's a lot of people who say the tower rooms are better and maybe they are but i think it's just it's neat to go to your room in an inclinator because how often do you go to room and inclinator and then have the whole incline of the window because you're like staying in a pyramid yeah right brandon said today is the chris and chris show that this is an episode of the chris and chris show for sure uh karen mcbride wants to know what's a good place for kids okay so this is a good one because i think you you had asked me this on our list anyway that's good um so i would say um what did i say let me look oh right mandalay bay i'd say mandalay bay because for those who don't know the mandalay bay has an amazing pool area their pool area it's it has a giant wave pool with a beach it's got a lazy river and then it's got multiple other pools it's giant so it's when i went there i noticed there are a lot of families and kids so that's great and then in addition to that the mandalay bay has an aquarium experience which i just recently went to and that was super cool they have all these animals and and reptiles and fish and sharks and all this stuff so i'm another cool place to bring your kids all in under one roof so that would be that would be my pick for sure yeah that's cool i i so i another one i agree with we probably are of like mind a lot since we share a name as well but i think the the other good part about staying at mandalay bay with kids is because it's kind of at one end of the strip like it's away from the strip riff raff and things like that and so you don't have to worry about the mandalay baby and cd or those sorts of things you know i know there's a lot of people who love the circus circus because of the adventure dome um you know but just the rest of that strip to walk around around circus circus isn't maybe as nice as the mandalay bay that then also connects on the sky bridges to the luxor and the excalibur so that's cool joshua says the showers at mandalay bay are so nice i took about three showers a day just for the hell of it thank you for sharing that joshua you were getting your money's worth on the shoulders um keeping me up podcast wants to know which is better the dumpster or the motor lodge at circus circus you know it's so easy to pick on the manor rooms [Music] okay so uh we've been talking a lot about uh strip hotels and downtown vegas hotels but i think an area that people often don't consider is like off the strip there's actually a lot of hotels just around what do you think the best off strip hotel is so my favorite one currently is the red rock casino resort um it's in summerlin if you don't know uh just absolutely beautiful place it's in a beautiful area too but i will say there's a bunch of ones off the strip i have yet to stay in particularly in henderson area there's m resort in henderson and um green valley ranch and a couple other like really nice ones that i just haven't really experienced yet but um but right now it's red rock and i don't think you can go wrong it's one of the nicest places here yeah uh oc girl and i we like the the jw marriott in las vegas we stay at merits all the time it's like a lot of marriott perks and that's kind of a it's a neat one that has a golf course and you know it feels a bit um removed again from like the hustle and bustle of the las vegas strip uh kevin k agrees with you red rock for sure couple other thoughts glenwood says green valley and jeff says south point definitely south point for like the dollar fifty hot dogs you can definitely get cheap hot dogs at south point and i was uh like the first time i walked around the south point i was amazed by the number of bowling alleys in that hotel i was like i guess they'd be like tournament bowling at south point so um i i had no idea that the hotel had like 60 uh bowling alleys um 60. yeah now they have a ton and i think they like i think they do bowling tournaments so next time next time you're set you wouldn't find them normally they're actually like up on the second or third floor you have to take like a big long escalator to get up to these bowling alleys but it's just you think of bowling alleys generally being on the ground and like really run down buildings and so you go in there and you're like oh it's a whole bowling floor almost um would he want to know what is your favorite caesars property pride they got to go at caesar's palace for sure such a fun place yeah such a fun place what about the buffet have you had the what i always mispronounce it back in now back it's like the most expensive buffet in las vegas uh no no unfortunately the only buffet i've ever experienced in vegas was at the rio and that was before i moved here and then when i did move here you know i was here for four months of normal life and then the the apocalypse hit yeah so nobody is for pompsie popsy well because because we did get that question and bridget says don't say the one at caesar's uh i'll just i'll tell you my opinion i love the phase uh and so my my order on buffets uh is i like the wicked spoon buffet at the cosmopolitan which um was was the last one to be open so it'll probably be the first one to reopen uh i also like the buffet at the wynn i like the buffet at the bellagio and then i used to love the rio but i feel like the rio over the years has just like slid downhill and so my replacement for the rio is the buffet at the aria in in that sense like the rio i feel when it was good was good because it was like good quality basic food that didn't cost too much um and like the aria kind of does that too sometimes i tell other people and they go like chris i went to aria and i didn't get like you know lobster caviar or something and i'm like okay well fine go to caesar's palace and pay a hundred dollars a person you know um but that's that's the caesars palace one uh okay so make me hungry yeah yeah well it's you know it'll be dinner time after this so i can't wait to get to a buffet they need to come back like they do no they do i'm with you and then yeah right and a lot of people you know and i'm sure they ask you this too pump see i get the questions about like chris i'm going in may june do you think buffets will be open you know i'll be like i don't know my my crystal ball probably says like after may like whenever the state is returning control to the county that that's probably when the county might be like okay let's get buffets back again um jacob uh wants to know uh if pompsy's at a hotel uh and he is at a hotel you probably weren't here at the beginning but pompsie again tell us where where are you and we'll we'll look at pumpsy's uh full screen here um i'm currently at the signature at mgm which is kind of um on the strip it's like a street behind the strip um it's near what's that one hilton ground vacation zolara and it's near mgm grand so yeah that's where i'm at it's it's like this it's this tucked back in hotel that i don't think many people know about but like if you ever it's like gold the towers are gold right and so it's kind of like yeah like the mgm grand is bright green and if you stand this rip and you look and there's these big gold towers in the back that's the signature uh speaking of hotels with casinos uh what's your favorite um casino in a hotel i'd go at the bellagio i think bellagio casino is just so epic and beautiful right in the middle right in the middle of the strip too it's just like when you go there no matter if it's first time or your 100th time you just feel really special there so i'd go with that one and it has everything you want it's got a bunch of slots you got your table games it's got an awesome poker room that's very popular sportsbook and all that stuff and yeah i'd go with that one for sure yeah i think the bellagio casino just has a good like classic vegas vibe i don't like the red and the gold and the tassels um without being also like overly smoky or things like that too uh so i know there's a lot of people though that say chris chris's uh you know i don't want to stay in a hotel with a casino because they they bug me because they're noisy or they're smoky what do you think uh is the best hotel without a casino so i would go with vadara for this one and for those who don't know vadara is um a resort that doesn't have a casino it's right next to um the arya and let's see what's over there arya waldorf astoria is like in that little pocket and basically you know you can walk from vadara you know four minutes two minute walk to arya right but vadara itself is so just quiet nice beautiful rooms um yeah it's it's great there yeah uh i've not stayed at vadara it's high on my list because i've heard a lot of people recommend it uh two that i like you mentioned the waldorf astoria i like the waldorf astoria it's really expensive though when the rates are cheap then i like it i also like the marriott grand chateau it's a timeshare that's like kind of kitty corner from the planet hollywood um and it's one that i often recommend for families that are coming that also don't want a casino since it's like like a marriott timeshare essentially um check that one out that's cool yeah yeah i like i like that one my only thing about that one uh is all the parking is val it's only valet parking it's free valley parking but it's only valet parking and then i feel like when i go there i'm often like okay well i guess because my parking's free then i i don't know you know tick tock tick tock right yeah i don't love to wait 15 minutes for my car which was my my journal experience the ward offers story is also i think valet only yes fedora actually does have its own parking garage so okay that's nice you know yes when when we stayed at the waldorf astoria because we don't like i really just don't like valet parking we actually parked at the aria's parking garage next door and walked over gosh i got you okay uh so i think the um just two more questions about hotels then we'll get into general uh vegas stuff and you already touched on um that you liked the mandalay bay pool as a place for kids and things like that are there any other pools that you think are good ones because people often want to know what's the best hotel with the pool yeah i'd say the wind and circa i i talked earlier about how the circa pool is just epic it's you know there's a giant screen where you can watch games and stuff like that so the circus great great pool area but also the wind the wind pool is just it's just so nice and luxurious and it's really cool that the pool is heated the big pool is heated they have these little bridges over the pools at certain areas they have all these cabanas that you can rent and they even have like areas where there's like patches of fake grass so you kind of you just i don't know it's just so nice there yeah so great honestly that's cool i i know i know a lot of people are really excited to get their uh like day clubs or day pools back i think i think those will still still still be a little while too um yeah okay uh we've heard had a lot of questions about food um what do you what do you think like uh the best best hotel for food or best food in a hotel is this is this is such a hard one for me to answer it's it's definitely the most challenging question for me there's so much good food in las vegas um but what did i write down here let's say best hotel food but what i can say i can give one like really great recommendation for sushi lovers if you're a sushi lover this place is expensive but it's amazing it's called mizumi and it's in the wind and uh i would recommend making a reservation there for a table on like the water so basically when you enter misumi there's a the whole back side is open and it's on this like lake with a waterfall this it's just beautiful so um their food is amazing um and everything like that but the experience like sitting there in one of those tables is just it was it's so nice um so that would be my recommendation it's called mizumi and uh yeah for sushi you can't go wrong yeah and that's the that's on the like that the show lake in the wind right the ones that does like the shows is that what it's called yeah yeah it's like at nighttime i think it's every half hour every hour i don't know during covid but most of the time then they actually have like different projections and things that come out of the water i agree that's a pretty neat spot um yeah okay i i shared kind of one of my worst hotel experiences in vegas with my leaky um you know air conditioner do you have a worst hotel experience in vegas i would say i mean i mentioned how i stayed at golden gate and that was a little eerie because it was so old and kind of whatever but but my actual worst experience would be at the cosmo and this is uh for those who know my channel know about this i basically over the summer want to stay at the cosmo and they kicked me out for having a camera in my room and it was it was ridiculous how they treated me but anyway i made a video about that story went viral and you know kind of whatever but anyway long story short um they did make it up to me they reached out to me and they invited me back and they gave me a great room to stay in and they were super great to me but i would say that was the worst experience and after i posted that video which was interesting or what was interesting was all the comments of people telling their stories of being treated poorly by security at the cosmo for a whole list of reasons it could like just you know it wasn't just because i was trying to make a video people had been kicked out for all sorts of reasons and and um yeah so that i'm not trying to hurt the cosmo necessarily but um i was happy that i was able to shed some light on that and also like i've befriended the vice president at the cosmo now and he basically told me about them changing and updating policies and and trying to avoid this kind of thing from happening in the future um and and for me i've stayed at 30 something hotels i've never experienced anything like the cosmo and i actually had the experience like before i got kicked out there there was another time where i had an issue there so it wasn't just that one time so there's no other place i've ever experienced anything like that other than the cosmo so i think they're making amends to try to fix those issues but um for anyone out there just uh i don't know there you go that's the truth yeah for sure uh anna says uh cosmo is really strict uh and they are when it comes to cameras if you if you didn't hear the whole story and i'll just i mean i'll give you the tiny crib notes version of it which is uh pomsie has a has a fancy camera do you have that in range of you pump see do you have your do you have your camera in range you know he's got a camera that looks like this and they basically yeah no but it's a professional camera and cosmos policy is they don't allow or didn't allow professional camera gear in the hotel uh and so because palms had a professional camera then they said uh you got to get out uh and if pomsie had a cell phone then that'd be fine it's bizarre and there's a lot of um not just strip casinos but i feel like hotels around the world and i've never been kicked out of a hotel pomsey and so that that experience sounds like it sucks uh but i've been in a bunch of places where same it's like i'm making a hotel review and i'm shooting their lobby and the security guards come over and be like sir you can't you can't shoot here be like it's a it's a room with sofas you know like what do you what do you think i'm gonna do with the same thing i'm just trying i think maybe if people watch this they're going to stay in your hotel i'm like i'm not making a a slander vid right anyway i just the rest of the world needs to get on board with like i don't know people like to take videos to share it with people and it's a good it's a good memory uh okay i'm glad we can kind of connect on these things yeah because most people don't understand they don't really relate to it for sure for sure um okay so let's talk about uh ho just some things about living in las vegas uh so first of all how long have you lived in las vegas i moved here october 2019 so about a year and a half i would say yeah okay uh and why why did you decide to move to las vegas so i moved to vegas because of my girlfriend at the time who had a job opportunity out here and for me i was working remotely already editing videos remotely so the location didn't really necessarily affect my work so i wanted to i said hey let's do it and then also every a few times a year i would be flown to los angeles for video gigs so i figured like you know vegas is much closer to los angeles than you know new jersey obviously so it just kind of was everything there was just like you know let's just try it if we don't like it after a year we can always move back you know so that was pretty much it yeah that's the story so now that you're in vegas what's something that you expected about vegas that isn't isn't really that way let me see what i wrote because i don't remember um oh i i wrote the about the convenience factor so in america in general is very convenient like if compared to traveling i'm sure you know this um places in europe and stuff the places close at night and then they're closed if you don't have food you have to wait until the next day you know what i mean and in america in general we have like 24 hour places all the time where it's very convenient but vegas is like the most the tip of the iceberg of convenience um you can do anything you want at any time of the day and it's it's it's crazy i really opened my eyes um when i moved out here yeah yeah for sure that is something i like about vegas to your point you don't have to worry about what time things are open i mean during the pandemic you do because things close a little bit earlier but generally it's like if you're hungry and it's 3 a.m or whatever like no big deal you know if you want to get your hair cut i'm sure you could find you know a hair salon that's open at three in the morning you know but i think so yeah probably yeah you mentioned inconvenient i'll just say the the place i've been to that was probably the most inconvenient and i know we have a lot of viewers on the live stream from australia but i was in uh adelaide australia and it was on sunday like everything closed and then the restaurants that were open there were a few open they charged a sunday premium i've never been any other place where just just for the privilege of serving you on a sunday they're like that'll be fifteen percent more because we're open yeah exactly right um so it's it's the other way in vegas right to be like if you come at odd hours like three a.m like you get a discount you know the the graveyard discount uh so you've been in vegas for about 18 months now uh what's what's what's what's keeping you there now that you're there what do you what do you like about it well now for me i'm a unique uh case because i have this channel it's based around my location vegas so that's been exciting but besides like the youtube channel and like my growth there um um i don't know i just it's just a fun place to live there's always things to do that's what that's what i wrote down here and yeah i just and even though we're in a pandemic it was cool because i would have like friends and different people popping in all the time you know for a couple days and i would get to see them normally i wouldn't so things like that are really fun about vegas and uh it's just in a cool location too you can go to los angeles or california um you can go up north and go skiing at you know during winter it's it's just such a such a different place than where i'm from like i'm from the tri-state area so i'm from new jersey and we can go to new york city and philly and places like that but here it's totally different and the landscape's different so there's just it's so so different than what i'm used to but at the same time there's so much to do and and the other main thing is the weather um i just love the warmer climate so i would say all in all those those factors it's just it's a fun place to live definitely yeah you mentioned being from new jersey which is obviously yeah there's a good pizza in new jersey new york so what's your what's where's the best pizza in las vegas oh my god to be honest i don't have an answer to that question there's been no good pizzas to like what i'm used to no offense like it just it's just the truth and i briefly lived in new haven connecticut in 2019 and new haven connecticut is actually like literally has the best pizza in the country and i could vouch for it i used to be able to walk to like the most famous places pizza places like in the country and i got spoiled that's just that's just what it is so i don't really have an answer for pizza in vegas unfortunately so uh if you if you ever come out to southern california particularly san diego there's a place in san diego called bronx pizza and what bronx pizza is famous for is that actually like all the guys that work there are from new york and when they first opened up they would hire people by placing wanted ads in the newspaper in new york city right to just be like there's something different about the people who make pizza in new york uh and sure enough it's the it's the closest i've had to like new york style pizza outside of new york so uh if you okay you know check it out yeah when you come out san diego or something we can do a collab shoot something at bronx pizza um i would love to do that yeah uh tim points out uh says today is my two year anniversary we got married at the signature at mgm which is where congrats that's right that's fun uh blai uh jt apparently likes maybe blaze pizza um which is like a fast fired pizza 6160 says secret pizza uh kristoff likes grimaldi's i like grimaldi's too it's pretty good for like a sit down pizza place um let's see tim says the best pizza is the pizza spot inside the mgm uh i'm not sure what that one is um let's see i'll give it a try okay yeah good and you can report back the top vloggers want to know we're both chris what are we drinking today well let's see i'll start and then chris you can you can share so i have so a tea from seven teas this is their guava mango guys i picked i get this at whole foods it is my favorite tea in a bottle um because in addition to tea it's got mango puree and guava juice um and it's it's just it's pretty tasty like a lot of bottles sounds healthy yeah it tastes like artificial stuff so what are you what are you drinking chris okay so brace yourselves people this is very unique it's a brand called is that how you pronounce it yeah yes that's how you pronounce it it's very it's foreign i just discovered it good special water good makes you more creative that's that's important uh okay so we talked about what you like about vegas what what don't you like about vegas what's your what's your least favorite thing about vegas my least favorite okay so i would just say the the my least favorite part my least favorite thing about vegas is the kind of some of the negative types of people that it attracts um and and by that i mean like you know vegas is a place where people come they want to let loose have fun party but at the same time there's a lot of people that come to vegas that are just here to just be terrible for lack of you know just be drug addicts there's drug dealers and there's just some like seedy type of individuals that frequent vegas and um that's just a reality and i i don't i don't like that i mean no one likes that but what are you gonna do you know what are you gonna do about it yeah um that to your point and that's one of those things at least you know for me not as a as a um as a resident of vegas but as a visitor you know yeah there is some of that just like the the the downtrodden part of it right as you point you know the junkies those sorts of things and obviously during the pandemic that's made the strip like i don't know that it's more of them and people are like oh there's more of them on the strip but it's like but there's less of everybody else and so that's something where you're like oh so it seems like there's a lot more of them now because there's there's less of everybody else um yeah yeah we uh we talked about the weather earlier uh and you said you liked you liked the weather um but yeah yeah you know i i tell people it actually gets cold in the winter and they don't believe me so pompey does it does it get cold in the winter it does it does get cold it doesn't get cold to the standards of like people on the east coast coast or up north obviously but in the winter like it'll get in like the 40s you know maybe sometimes at night in the high 30s but it does get pretty cold luckily the winter season is only about maybe two months maybe even less like right now it's still technically winter and it was 70 degrees and sunny today so um it's not always that cold but it does get that cold and the other bad part about the weather here is every once in a while there's going to be intense wind which it doesn't happen that often but when it does it's it's kind of gnarly like chilling it's kind of shocking yeah it is i think it does i think that's the part that people don't appreciate as much and it's like when i go to vegas in january or february i'm bringing long pants i'm bringing like a fleece jet like to your point something to like block the wind you know because that's that's what's really bone chilling a question from jenny jenny wants to know who are your favorite vegas youtubers and why is it dale mckenzie is that that's a question for me i think so yeah uh i think i do know who dale mckenzie is i think him and his wife they do the staycation videos right exactly that's right yeah he's the former former former musician right like a little sort of like lounge singer or something like that in vegas okay nice cool i mean my favorite my favorite vegas youtuber who is that um i'll go i'll go with jacob's life jacob's jacob he's a very nice guy he's been uh making videos in vegas for a very long time he was the first person to like reach out or i reach out to him actually and he was nice enough to feature me on the channel and i love that guy so that's my answer good deal uh iselle wants to know what are your expectations for resorts world my i mean i'm i have pretty high expectations i mean judging from the resorts worlds elsewhere in the world from what i've seen and just what a how monstrositis it is that a word i don't even know how big it is we'll use it it's giant it's it's taken up such a big portion of real estate on the strip um i i think it's like an eight billion dollar project i mean geez louise i'm expecting it's gonna be pretty epic you know yeah yeah i am i'm definitely i'm definitely looking forward to it uh in particular since it's a malaysian based company um and i really like food in asia like i love the hawker centers of singapore i am hoping they'll bring something like that to vegas um while vegas does have a lot of asian food it's not like it's not super amazing that's what i'll say uh dustin wants to know resort guys resort world's going to be right up your alley correct yeah for sure completely completely i am definitely more excited about resorts world than i was of circa so i can see that yeah dustin says if you don't have a rental car aside from walking what is the best method of getting around so this might surprise people but i would say taxis so you know when uber and like lifts came around the ride shares they were so much cheaper than taxis they had better customer service so that kind of dominated and they you could still obviously take lifts and tack or lifts and like ubers now but in vegas the taxi service is actually pretty convenient basically like they have a line outside of the front entrance of resorts and if there's no in the line you just you know you go right to the front of the line and they have taxis waiting in a line to take you where you need to go you just pop in right there they take you and so recently i've been using taxis instead of ubers because it's just quicker easier the price is basically the same as well so yeah yeah that's cool i i love that perspective frankly in one of my like things to know about vegas video i talk about the taxis there's a good way of getting around people like chris why didn't you mention uber lyft and this that and be like because the taxis are just right there just go get one you know yeah exactly yeah um this person's channel name which sounds like something out of the simpsons that bart simpson might ask mo to call you know is mr jass there hugh huge ass uh says pompsy do you book hotels for staycations honestly i i only book hotels because i like making videos and people seem to like these videos and and i i enjoy making them but i don't like it's fun i like the nice rooms and getting to stay in them but i don't book them for their staycations really i just like making videos yeah they're cool yeah joshua wants to know what's the best casino resort to visit as a first time vegas traveler i always say caesar's palace it's just so epic maybe the hangover influenced me a bit but it's just you get there it's just like i'm in vegas yeah let's go you know let's go wild you know it's just it's cool for sure i i think caesar's palace is a good first time vegas um stay and you know a lot of people try to be cheap and they're like i'm gonna stay at the strat or something like that i'm like don't don't do not your first time don't do it right because like you spend all your time transiting in and your first time just stay center strip someplace nice you know you can you can explore other roach infested places later right like that's fine you know but if it's your first time go for it uh and then i also will say caesars is also not crazy expensive like a venetian or the win or cosmo or even bellagio it's a little less expensive from what i've seen in those places but it's basically like right up there with it i think yeah want to know if greta is joining you with the signature tonight kevin crutchfield what's up kevin uh she she is as soon as we're done with with this interview stream she'll be i think she'll be here yeah she'll be in the vlog the next vlog good good uh juan says i heard day clubs and nightclubs open up in may i i would not hold your breath juan uh the the state has said they're not gonna make regulations in may they're going to give it to the counties but that doesn't mean the county is going to open up day clubs and nightclubs um let's see uh v wants to know where do you book your hotel rooms i always use vegas.com to be honest i when i first started doing the hotel videos vegas.com always had the cheapest rates from what i've seen but since the early days of doing these videos i haven't even really checked anywhere else i just always go to vegas.com i might be leaving money on the table i don't know but yeah it's just convenient for me i'm used to it now yeah yeah i was thinking you know it's like do you book it via guy named leroy or you know related to like hotel i know that like you know there's some people that'll be like oh well you know i called the front desk manager to try to get like a special deal but like you i don't book them from vegas.com i generally just book it through the hotel's website um but i i think at least for me booking hotels in vegas is kind of tricky because a lot of them have like special promotions or packages that you need like a coupon code or you find from certain places and i would tell you just to like explore that a little bit and sometimes on the hotel websites like if you're logged in like as a member of their elite program then you'll get like different rates than if you're not um that's the that's the one thing people are always asking me about pricing and like how to get the best price where did i get the best price and all that stuff and to be honest i really just i'm not good at that like right like i that's why in a lot of my vlogs i i am reluctant to share what i what i paid and people get mad at me but it's because um it might not be the best deal and i don't want to and it might not be even be correct it depends on the day where you live based on pricing there's so many factors yeah so um that's just not my expertise we can we can totally resonate on this one too because it's if there's like the number one most repeated comment on my hotel reviews as well is also how much did you pay for how much was the room i'd be like yeah not really relevant for when you're gonna stay particularly in vegas because it's like this night it's 50 and tomorrow night it's 400 you know exactly uh okay so uh speaking about the strip uh you know as a local in vegas how often do you visit the strip i visit this trip at least twice a week i do a live stream at least once a week usually on the weekend and then during the week i at least do a video at one of the hotels during the week um at least one sometimes twice so i'd say minimum two at least two times a week i'm on the strip yeah which is crazy speaking of live streams uh for those for those people don't know tell tell us about uh your longest live stream ever so i did a i did a live stream for 20 over 21 hours i was attempting to do a 24-hour live stream i had seen some twitch streamer do it and obviously like they're playing video games so they're just staying still but i was like you know what i'm gonna try i don't care i'm gonna try it in real life and i almost i almost made it but i gave up because like i couldn't feel my feet basically yeah yeah that's that's that like as a proposition that sounds like like a like a mr beast proposition almost you know one of those like i don't know i don't know like the mr beast video where he's like i went through the drive through a thousand times you know you're exactly right that's that's what i was kind of i also got a little bit of motivation there um from him and i'm gonna for those who are interested i'm gonna do this again i have a better mapped out strategy where i'm not walking as much so i can survive next time but well that's where you go you just like yeah walk sit down more just be like i'm gonna sit at a restaurant on the strip for a while or something like that you know the flamingo bar or something like that right alex uh asks if we've been to laughlin i've never been to laughlin uh pomsey have you been to laughlin not yet but i do plan on going i know a lot of people have mentioned that it would be good so i'm gonna check it out soon uh briana wants to know do almost all of the hotels hold your bags for you if your flight is later than checkout yeah i i would agree with that probably pomcy probably doesn't have the hotels hold his bags all that much i do and i'll say that yes that's a standard service unless you're at one where the air conditioner drips and then you're like i probably don't want them to hold my bag because i don't know who's gonna walk back there james i've seen ask this question a number of times let me put up here uh he wants to know if casey neistat has influenced you no no i i don't think anyone has influenced me as much as casey for sure i love that guy yeah casey's great um roadman wants to know where's the best coffee in vegas um best coffee well there's a great place called um dutch bros which is a chain around here they make great coffee um and it's they're great and uh yeah they have great customer service that's the main thing they're very very very friendly to the point where it's almost annoying if you go there every single day but regardless it's a great coffee great place dutch bros dutch friends houve wants to know are you subscribed to any of the casino reward services like m life or caesar's rewards sadly i am not because i have a personal like code like a popsy code where i refuse to sign up for any type of marketing i don't like being marketed to i and i'm very selective with subscriptions even on my youtubers like i try because with my like too many subscriptions i can't keep and keep up with the youtubers so i try to keep that number down but in general i i'm i'm this might be stupid i'm leaving money on the table but i i don't like to sign up for things what what i think is sort of fun and obviously you can't do it for the casino programs but like signing up for you know mailing lists at conventions or things like that i like to write down names that are just like super bizarre to see if anybody looks at it like i'll be like my name is chris spin with like five n's you know all right that's it or you know sometimes like you pick a different middle initial and be like let me just see where i i signed up for this at this conference and where is that going to go you know and now all the people that send me things to chris.l.rainey like i know that that that came from that place that they saw yeah that's a cool idea okay so the strip you know a lot of weird things happen on the strip uh what's your what's your weirdest experience on the strip this is a hard one people have asked me this on streams recently and i haven't seen to be honest i haven't even though i'm doing live streams all the time on the strip i haven't seen too much crazy stuff but there was recently a time where i was on the live stream just walk and do my thing there was like two people in front of me barely anyone and one of them he he grabs a bottle like a glass bottle on the on the sidewalk and then he just chucks it into oncoming traffic it smashes like the windshield of a car they stop the skirt and i was just like i it would happen on my live stream and i was like oh my god and the the guy was a little cuckoo he was i think he was one of those crazy like homeless people that's just like out of his mind you know and a couple of people behind me saw that and we were all kind of just like we're in shock you know that was crazy yeah that it that is crazy uh i haven't i haven't seen anything quite that that violent one of my related to just like cuckoo people was somebody who was riding a bicycle on the side of the strip in august and he was wearing a tin foil hat and he told me that i i really since i didn't have one i should get a tin foil hat to protect myself from things i'm like i will you know what i'm gonna i'm gonna get i'm gonna get right on that thanks um oh that's fine we had a lot of questions about um favorite restaurants on the strip uh is there it is getting dark but i think you've still got good light good light on your face um okay you know you mentioned the sushi restaurant are there are there any other local restaurants that you want to plug for people coming to vegas to be like hey check these places out they're pretty good local restaurants whatever right here no cheese i'm pretty basic to be honest i like red lobster i like maggiano's um and in and out burger those are like chain places but they're all like really great um but i actually i made a video top five or five incredible off the strip restaurants in vegas and my friend who who lives here um she's she's lived her whole life she recommended five great places so i would recommend checking that out um for some awesome like non-chain off the strip restaurants that are great um but for me i'm pretty basic i'm just like a red lobster kind of guy every once in a while yeah that's cool you mentioned in-n-out burger we have a lot of things in common chris in-n-out burger is my favorite restaurant people like chris where should i go to vegas california if i'm from australia or something i'm always like in a burger number one number one stop right yeah and then if people's fast food yeah and then if people tell me because as a side note i actually i actually had this for lunch today uh which if you don't know this is the cup from shake shack and then for people who say like chris i don't know about in and out shake shack is better i say that's fighting words but i'll debate them for people who say five guys is better then i'm like well you're entitled to your opinion but you're wrong if you say five guys is better uh if i'm if if i'm being honest i think shake shack is the best of all of them yeah i i am and so this is why i actually don't argue that point i think shake shack is really good it's more expensive than an out burger so i say in that burger yeah right is the best value and for someone who's cheap so i eat there more because it's a good value but then yeah if i have to pick best burger like the meat at shake shack and everything is is pretty tasty um yeah kevin asks how do you determine which hotels you sleep at and which ones you go home from my basically if if i just if the places feels kind of nice and luxurious like it's just innate like if it feels nice then i'm like yeah i want to i want to stay here but if it doesn't feel nice i'm like i'm just going to go home like my my place at home is nicer yeah i mean for future videos if i if i want to just kind of like struggle for a night for the sake of the video then i'm gonna do that but uh in general a lot of times i'm like i don't think there's a point to me sleeping over in a place where i don't really want to so i'll just go home but basically it's just like it's just if it feels really nice and luxurious i choose to stay here yeah that's cool um okay well you know it is particular background he's in my other studio but the story behind the pandas is that oc girl and i on one of our early dates we went to the san diego zoo san diego zoo is famous for pandas and we bought this little stuffed panda and then we just started taking this panda on travel and then kind of the the thing was it was like oh well he was gonna we'll feature this panda in our videos we're like well we should give him a name what name should he have i'm chris he's topher together we make christopher uh and so then topher traveled the world in a lot of videos topher was sadly stolen in london about uh two years ago uh with my camera bag and all my camera gear which sucks uh and so then i made a really sad video about um my panda was stolen and then uh many uh fellow explorers here on yellow productions um you know chipped in and sent me all these pandas that you see in this background and then the pandas that you see in my other background so that's the story on pandas oh that's sweet yeah and then and then it was that time which is when i had these shirts made um to also uh like and i'll say like hey it's the yellow productions crew now because it's more than just the one panda so that's the that's the story behind the pandas yeah why does greta like awesome it's not as romantic as yours but uh basically she just thinks they're cute they are they are they are cute i agree she's literally she has a tattoo of a panda all right on her arm somewhere that's super i'll have to take her to the san diego zoo she hasn't been there i think uh yeah that's a good idea unfortunately san diego zoo has no more pandas because china asked for them back yeah it's a drag i think they're working to get them back if you ever go to washington dc i think that's the other best
