Land Rover Defender Ultimate Camper Conversion

good morning good people how are you all today well i've got a question for you do you like land rover defenders was that a yes i thought so what about expedition land rover defenders you know the ones with all the stuff bolted on them you can go over landing and so forth yeah i love those ones too well i tell you what i've got a great treat for you today what i'm about to show you is possibly the best land rover expedition defender camper thingamajig in the entire world yeah i know incredible let's go and take a look [Music] [Music] uh i over-exaggerated maybe just a little bit but it's still a great truck and i want to show you all around it and the inside too because that's like the best bit as far as i'm concerned now i can't take credit for all of this vehicle because the previous owner was a retired engineer and he took the original vehicle stripped it down galvanized chassis nut and bolt rebuild all the way up so loads and loads of work has been done now a bit about me first my name is errol i've been building these for about 10 years and this was one of my favorites and i did this four years ago so let's take a look so let's start under the bonnet yes it's a 300 tdi and it's had loads of upgrades done to it now as i'm showing you where the 300 tdi is the engine of choice when it comes to over landing because it hasn't got all those electronic bits and pieces that go wrong in the middle of nowhere but what's this had done to it loads and loads of stuff and i really can't go through it all because i actually can't remember all of it but i do know it's got an upgraded turbo uprated head alley sport um intercooler radiators and lots of other stuff so it's great great engine down here we've got a bespoke nudge bar and the idea was to give the vehicle a camel trophy look um we've got a warm winch here xeon 10s and that's a synthetic rope and a wireless remote and of course lots of shiny stuff lovely so on the roof we've got two solar panels generating 240 watts of solar power uh we've got the high lift jack on the front there and we've got two locker boxes on the roof as well that can be accessed from either side and if you're a big fan of spotlights which i am well as you can see there's plenty of them we've got loads of things on this side like rock sliders side locker hatch which i'll open up and that's all the recovery equipment oh there we go like so we also have led lights all the way around a great big two and a half meter awning here external hookup we have a fuel tank 65 litres on this side and on the other side we've got a water at 56 liters we have these side access ladders as well to get to the top coming around the back as you see you've got more led lights here and under there big nas step swing away wheel carrier all the normal stuff lots of protection uh what else we got a great big 270 awning this comes all the way around i'll open that up in a minute more lockers more lockers water tank water inlet another ladder it's great so in the front here we've got lots of things going on and if you're into your buttons where you're in luck because there's loads of buttons on the dashboard loads of buttons and dials to play with under the passenger seat we have a safe that's really handy we've got a gkn overdrive a cb radio a vhs radio dials for your fuel tank and your water tank we've got your wi-fi winch control behind the passenger seat we've got the dual right 1500 watt inverter behind the driver's seat we've got all your electronics in there the mppt victron controller and your fuse boards um split charge battery system as well blah blah blah if i get my words out two auxiliary batteries one in the front and one on the back so plenty to play with plenty to be having fun with so when all the work was done by the previous owner all the rebuild and so forth it was then brought to me and my first job was to put the roof on now that is an alucam icarus pop top roof um i fitted about 30 of [Music] there you go 270 awning free standing but this one does come with legs and all the side walls as well so it's like a massive extra room for your defender [Music] so here we are in the back it's a full camper interior so it's all made of nine millimeter birch reply laminated and it's flight case material so it's very tough and hard wearing plenty of openings as you can see now over here we have a hob and this lid just simply comes off like so and this hop here plugs into the gas here and you can take this outside put it over there put it wherever you like and the gas bottle is in the side locker externally on the two end panels here we have lots of switches usb ports and all that sort of stuff and although you can't see it up here and over there we've got two fans as well so in a hot country you can keep yourself cool now the bed platform up there lifts up completely out of the way so you can completely stand up you've got full headroom and if i bring it down you can climb up onto here on the bed and you pull that section down and that is a full bed up there huge bed now the good news is this section down here also becomes a double bed be it a little bit small of course but if there's two of you you can sleep separately if you really like or of course if the weather's really bad you cannot sleep up there and sleep down here instead and we have a table here and that drops down and becomes part of the platform so at the back here we also have a fridge it's a 49 liter and it also has a little freezer compartment as well which is good but you can take that in and out depending on what you want to do we have storage on the top here as well and under here we have more storage we have a battery and under here we have a heater with the air blower that comes out here and of course a side window and more lights there's lights everywhere [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so there you have it a defender 300 tdi expedition camper with a pop top roof what's not to
