La Jolla California Tour

what's going on everybody this is islandhoppertv and today we are coming to you from la jolla california so we are down here at the wind and sea beach we're gonna walk that away which is north towards la jolla cove but first let me show you guys around the actual wind and sea beach look at this plane right here coming in hot it's a cool place to swim i'll tell you that much but do be ready to get rocked by some big waves surprised this uh structure here is still standing i think the old one got knocked over you see there's the stick from it lots of surfers right here uh [Music] [Music] and just like yesterday i will put time stamps in this video down below so you guys can go to different parts of la jolla effortlessly hope to make it all the way over towards the pure past scripts towards tory pines oh yeah what a great day to swim my hotel is actually just up the road here literally right above wind and sea it's a holiday inn [Music] wow waves are pounding today the pacific is rowdy let's see oh here comes another one oh wow [Music] and just north of wind and sea is marine state beach which is where we're at now there we yeah so the area that i'm at is called dune marie in sea lane and down here we have the typos so we've got this bike here called vo you got to download the app i'm actually probably going to test it out it's got a qr code to scan okay we are now coming up to the cove so we've got a cove right there see where all the sea lions are keep on walking here all right some ice cream where's all the sea lions yeah so this whole area right here is la jolla cove you can see that's where the sea lions usually hang out they're right now just swimming in the water obviously fishing or humans have kicked them off and they're taking their break from humans the last time i was there they didn't care if there was people or not lots of ice cream men down here and artists those are cool hats it's like that guy's got like cheetahs san diego anyone know what that is i already know but don't want to say it keep it g-rated all right up there is la jolla boulevard which is where we're going next after we uh kind of wrap around this other side of the cove but this whole area you're looking at is all the way to cover oh it's high tide this area is usually exposed and you can actually see the sea lions are actually down there which is a different spot than i now we are coming up to prospect street in gerard this is really kind of one of the main drags out here and you can go in either direction [Music] okay [Music] prospect square square uh it's closed why are they closed it's friday the weather is currently 82 degrees on friday afternoon at 1 30 in the afternoon in the middle of august 2021 there's definitely more going on this way it's just a matter of getting there so kind of pick up and stop and then pick up and stop as we continue this push towards the beer but really a nice place huh prospect streets definitely an area you can come to walk around if you go anywhere inland a bit you'll be going into more of the commercial area [Music] so yeah where's everybody watching from today it'd be interesting to see where the audience for loya was watching from let us know in the comments what is this so i got some thai food pork fried rice all right so we're going down from prospect street towards the oi i think it's this way i will not be waiting in line for that if you guys want to see the cave you will have to come here and do it on your own but i will show you what it looks like outside there the entrance to the cave you can hear the kayakers there's a good look at the cave anybody in there so here's a little secret pathway to the coastal trail off of prospect we are so close to the ocean right here you will soon see that where we are those morning glories those are outlawed in arizona because they're an invasive species they take over everything it doesn't look like they've taken over everything here in ohio [Applause] [Applause] okay um so um just bits and pieces of the coastal walk here so so all right so we've made it down to the east side this is actually the uh la jolla shores is what you're looking at here here's the coastal access right in front of uh lahore shores so we'll kind of just head down there [Music] oh it's like if you go down that way you're going to get wet i'll go down that way a little bit since i have 10 shoes on i knew i was gonna be doing a lot of walking today so i didn't want to wear flip-flops but in some instances like this be great to have a pair of flip-flops like i said this is right in front of la jolla shores oh man this wave is going to come out [Music] i want to ruin another pair of shoes you know what i notice when i walk by people the smell of burnt skin i know that sounds weird but um you ever like gone surfing and spent a long time in the sun and uh just smell like sunburned skin some of you might think that's weird never heard of that before but smelled a couple people who've just been just getting baked out here i know that smells from their skin burning all right enough of the nasty talk playa it's kind of just an area where you can get some food but the shore rider i just want to show you this area real quick now we'll finally go down to loyal beach i can kayak tours i'm actually going to get water [Music] so here's the hoya shores and the underwater park here where did our people oh you're deaf where did our people go so obviously the thing to do is run a kayak when you come here i mean this place is more popular than copacabana [Music] [Applause] they're doing there too it's like copacabana and freaking rio brazil yes the water's cold in comparison to like the gulf of mexico yes colder than hawaii yes is it possible to swim and get acclimated to it yes not the coldest water but it's just not the most warm water you'll ever feel there's the pier i don't think i'm going to go any further than [Music] the pier though you go to the top of that mountain there you can see that people hang glide just like paragliders off the cliff that's at torrey pines it's also an aquarium up there well this side before you get to the hill it's called the uh scripps institute anyways i'll pick up over there all right so there's the pier it's not even open so it's pointless to go all the way over there uh but like i said beaches over there even a blacks beach look up blacks beach if you want to know more about it but uh i've now walked pretty long ways [Music] you can kind of see where i've walked from way around
