Kyoto vlog | bamboo forest, shrines, temples, food and life as a digital nomad

[Music] it is 5:30 in the morning and we're heading off to the train station to go and see the bamboo forest and we are doing a few other shrines today so it should be a really good day [Music] see [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Music] we're all finished up at the bamboo forest it was just a Subway and a tram to get here so it wasn't too hard the bamboo forest is actually quite short but it pays to come early because basically no one is here and it is just so peaceful and I think that's how it's meant to be experienced so if you can get here early do it around the bamboo forest is a whole bunch of shrines in some beautiful gardens so we're going to continue walking [Music] around okay this is why it pays to come early because we got here a bit just after 6:00 and it's 7:30 now and it is so full especially at the front where everyone's taking pictures [Music] [Music] sh [Music] we just finished up at the temple and it's probably one of the most unique temples that you will find it has over 12200 individually carved little sculptures in it it's really fun to go through and have a look at all the different ones like I love spotting the cat one and there's even one holding a little cassette that Temple is an easy 30 minute walk from the bamboo forest so if you are doing the bamboo forest I recommend going and doing that as well it makes the trip worthwhile anyway it's nearly :00 and we're getting pretty hungry so we're hoping to find a cafe on our trip to the next [Music] Temple from the temple we just walked another 20 minutes to ARCA coffee and waited in line for I think another 20 minutes so this coffee is definitely [Music] needed we are back at the train station now we're to the other Temple so it's a train and a bus to get there and this will be our first bus in coyo well that was really easy the bus you just get on and you pay when you leave it's just a flat fair and honestly there one thing I love about Japan is that public transport is just so easy to use [Music] we are heading home now after catching the bus it was nearly a 50min bus ride home we will grab some lunch just before we head up to our apartment because we are starving the temple was really pretty however the crowds were a little offputting so I feel like we couldn't enjoy it as much as what we wanted but I guess that is the benefit of getting to places early you do avoid the crowds however because we'd spent the morning at the bamboo forest and the other Temple we got there a bit later in the day so it was kind of expected it is nearly 1:00 so no breakfast today I went with the dumpling soup and a piece of fried chicken from Family Mart and I'm going to enjoy this so [Music] much we finished with lunch but the reason that we got up so early is so that we could spend the morning exploring and unfortunately it is Friday so I still have to work I'm currently working on some client logo so I really really love designing so I'm looking forward to this but the next few hours will be spent on [Music] this so I don't know how but those hours have just flown by I've been working for a few hours now and it is 7:00 so we are going to go and get dinner [Music] how long you [Music] just got back from dinner and oh my goodness we waited probably 40 minutes in line for that food but it is so worth it those dumplings are absolutely delicious it's also just such a fun experience too we were sitting kind of up at the bar so we got to watch all the chefs cook and they're like yelling constantly so it was just such a fun environment to be in as well but those dumplings were just amazing oh my goodness I I'm so sad that we don't have enough time to go back again because we haven't planned it yet but we are meant to check out of this apartment on Sunday I think tomorrow we plan on booking somewhere because I guess we're getting kicked out on Sunday but we have been up since 4:45 this morning so I'm pretty tired so I'm ready to have a shower and call it a night [Music] [Music] m
