Kyoto's most scenic neighborhood is arama let's visit traditional temples and Gardens eat lots of amazing food and visit monkeys on a mountain your perfect one-day [Music] itinerary hey friends welcome back to the travel Japan series here at the urban jungle my name is Julia and I will show you the best places at Kyoto's most visit neighborhood arashiyama we start our day at the tram station which is an attraction itself wow these pillows are so pretty covered in Japanese traditional fabric this place is called kimono forest and at night the pillars even light up only a few steps from the trim station you will find the main shopping street but more on that later our first stop of the day is a tenji temple for its gorgeous [Music] Gardens for 500 yen per adal you can enter the outside area of the temple build in 1339 by the Shogun ashikaga taguchi tenui Temple was dedicated to deceased Emperors the gardens were designed by the zena musu siki who developed the Japanese tea ceremony unfortunately the buildings burned down several times but the beautiful landscape garden and the pond remain unchanged just by looking at the Landscaping you'll be set to an almost meditative State there is so much to discover in this Garden in Spring everything is blooming and growing so you might spot some little birdies try your luck at the wishing Pond and no this is not edited of course I at my shot by the way if you want want to enter the buildings as well it's only 300 y more and now it's time for a little snack back on the Main Street it already was so tempting when we arrived so let's have a look into the many shops and street food sellers let me present you three Kyoto Classics strawberry da fuku three Cola Dango and verim moi oh my God this is the most aromatic strawberry I have ever eaten in my life and together with the bean paste perfect multi- taste and funny consistency also worth a try and of course much as soft ice cream there's so much amazing food here this is the advantage of traveling in the group you can share more food for a more detailed Food review check out my [Music] Shores Japanese people are big on edible souvenirs so this is why you'll find lots of pretty bottles and small-sized package food so friends and family and work colleague get to enjoy your trip as well why not bring home some pickled Japanese vegetables better than boring chocolate ooh what's this a local honey producer introduces the newest sweetest Creations here special kind of syrup honey mixed with local fruits us a sound super Japanese let's try it ooh so refreshing okay sold and before I'm gaining 10 here next stop is already waiting arashiyama bamboo forest you may know the forest from documentaries about kyotto and it really is pretty just look at how thick and high the bamboo has grown typically it's quite full with tourists but it's so close and free so let's at least have a quick walk around since we flew all the way to Japan and today we're pretty lucky with the tourists I think it's worth a try back on the Main Street we're ready to explore the souvenir shops Kota is all about tradition so here you will find the prettiest fans and handcrafted [Music] chopsticks [Music] oh these would perfectly suit a colorful summer Kimo let me know down in the comments what you would like to bring home and if this video is helpful to you I'd be super happy about your thumbs up or or subscription oh this is so cute why does everything has to be so adorable in Japan and my personal recommendation stuck up on those sheet masks there was local green tea and for super smooth skin one package with 35 masks is only around $12 that's a steal guys H and this Haku cream perfume smells so orangey there's also ramun Japanese soda scent well this is very specific as beautiful as these stors here are it's time to move on and explore the neighborhood even more don't miss out on the peaceful side streets while we're making our way to the next highlight the Majestic katsura River the wooden bridge clearly is an eye-catcher and to stay with the word clear you need to walk Upstream to see this this idealic view could be a scene right out of a movie no wonder that you'll find gisha enjoying arashiyama is you working now I bet spending time with her is the ultimate Japan experience the river banks are pretty shallow so you can dip your feet into the cool water but please pay attention to the strong current if you're going in any further for some reason this exhibition was Clos but maybe you're lucky to enjoy nature from a different kind of angle now let me show you one of the best SOA noodle restaurants yoshim mura you might need to wait a little outside but it's well worth it again you have the stunning view over the river if you sit at the bar but there are also bigger tables that seat four to six people don't be afraid about the menu there's an English one with pictures we ordered s noodles and a hot broth for summer they are also cold ones with lots of small side dishes the meat SOA menu comes with tempura that means fried shrimp and also a shiso leaf if you like it more spicy you can sprinkle a seven spices mixture over your soup and now to The Taste the buak wheed sober are pleasantly alente and have a slight mty natural flavor the broth is a light summery broth and does not overshadow the taste of the tempera yummy all in all a 10 out of 10 would definitely order again from The Little Shop you can bring the taste of Japan home as well that was delicious we're filled with good food and new energy so we're going on a little but definitely doable hike up the mountain and the colorful sign here will give you a hint why yes we're going to Monkey Park which is not your usual prison-like Zoo for 600 Yen per adult you can walk around the area freely and observe the monkeys playing around [Music] or fighting in this case but please keep your distance except in the monkey house where you will be protected by bars so you can get closer to the monkeys and feed them with peanuts and without worries good to know the park closes at 400 p.m. because the monkeys then go back deeper into the forest then also most attractions in Arash are close so it makes sense to discover kuto City Center so stay tuned for upcoming videos and with this stunning view our day in K's neighborhood atama comes to an end thank you so much for coming on this adventure with me let me know down in the comments what your favorite P was and why you want to go to Japan leave a like and subscription if you want to support my channel and see you soon for more Japan Adventures bye [Music]
