Kylie's Accordion Card using Designer Series Paper #loveitchopit

people it's so good to see you all i hope you're all well i hope your families are well we're thinking of you during this challenging time well we need to craft right we all need to do some crafting i have no idea what i'm doing today well some idea but i keep keep changing my mind you know what i'm like indecisive kylie what do i feel like doing today i i do feel like coloring today i have got my blends out so i think i might be doing a little bit of coloring with you today um maybe we could have a look at a few different coloring ideas your heaps are well good yay oh kaylee you're in queensland oh it's cold in new south wales and queensland we've had a big snap frozen and most of australia is frozen at the moment oh honolulu how i could be in honolulu right now i've just got to pretend pretend i'm in honolulu oh hello patty from lauderdale we've been to lauderdale before let me bring out the comments on my little screen here so that i can pop up some of your comments there's paddy's one hi fatty and kirsty said she's just had her paper her paper club arrive i'm playing with paper today we all love our paper good morning oh there's so many of you here yes we need a cheer up session don't we we need to have some fun and just pretend everything's okay jesse loves it when i'm not overly prepared yeah that's true when i'm super organized i change it anyway jessie's definitely my best friend she knows me well [Music] so yes we're gonna have some fun today do some coloring so one thing i did want to point out which i don't think i've really explained that well i think i've been a bit slack very sorry lovely people but um it's a retiring month things have changed around here we're stamping up normally retiring month happened all at the same time all on the same month for both the annual k log and the little mini but this month is the mini this month the mini is finita so there's a few things that of course i want to remind you about before they leave us forever like literally never to return again and the peanut butter m m's oh my goodness don't even talk to me about peanut butter m m's but the big thing that we want to keep in mind is the paper that is going to be leaving us in just a couple of weeks so i've decided to play with some of the mini catalog paper because there are so many beautiful papers in that catalog that are going to be leaving us forever good yes grab a coffee maybe grab your paper get something set up i love that you said that vicki that she's grabbed a coffee if you are new to our channel this is a very very chilled out session i'm not super organized i'm not fastidious you never know what is going to happen so yeah this is something you watch while you're doing the dishes vacuuming the house doing some crafting we're just hanging out together right we're all hanging out together and everyone on here that are that are commenting you all know each other which i love i love that you all know each other so yes ah jalong and first time live hi sarah oh lovely to have you here so yes it's time for us to all chill and even helen's here oh helen and harvey bake has i was i was born near harvey bay in queensland we've got so many lovely people here today i just want to hang out with you all and say g'day yeah we're gonna have fun who even knows what is about to occur today so i have this gorgeous paper this has been one of my favorite papers mainly because we can color it it's so handy and there's so many great layers and so many beautiful designs that we can play with so i don't know if any of you have actually tried my accordion card have any of you had had a go do you even know what my accordion card is it's like this random card i made up all trying to decide between the beauty of friendship bundle and the inspiring thoughts bundle i've used the inspiring thoughts more if that helps christine i do love that bundle oh maria how sad you have to go to work yay everyone's got their coffees some of you might have a beverage you know to someone say beverage no some of you are overseas and it's night time so you can have some wine or something but i think i'm going to do a bit of a color you do need to fussy cut these but that's okay we can handle a bit of fussy cutting and i do want to show you another accordion card because they are yes a lot of fun and so easy so easy but they look amazing especially with designer series paper so the other thing that you've got to remember too is this gorgeous paper here oh hello there goes the little folder so this um fine art floral paper like perfect for an accordion card so that's another one that you want to get out and have a play with do some love it chop it with your papers and then maybe stock up on some some new ones as in more packs for back up when they leave us forever especially your favorites if you know that you love a particular paper and it's going to be leaving us forever then it's good to look at i'm just going to grab my catalog because there's hopefully i've got my little mini in here i haven't seen it in a while it's probably gone walk about i never really know where anything is in this room well i do kind of oh guess what people i found it it's a miracle [Laughter] i'm shocking myself i'm just gonna move my microphone a little closer for you all i'll try not to yell in there but hopefully you can hear very well just in case i go for a little walk you can still hear me then but this is the mini catalog that i'm talking about that's finishing up okay so any papers in here go on never to return again which is just devastating because we love our paper so we've got oh yes there's a love you always paper as well yeah we've got the true love paper fine art floral oh the hydrangea paper sand and sea dandy garden ice cream corner snail mail and the well suited and we still have that beautiful um die the suit die so the well suited could be one of those ones that you may want to bulk up on because um it's just so perfect with those dies so that could be something just for your masculine cards have a masculine card back up paper so that i would highly recommend now there was a few little standouts here um even if you are not interested in valentine's we don't really do valentine's at all um but because we just show love to one another every day we don't need a day to do this but there are some little um cards on in australia if you have a look at those cards they're on sale and they're i think eight dollars or something like that on the um the clearance rack so that's those ones there but you could use them any time even for friends and family uh so there's some really good little specials the potted succulents i was very sad to see that they were heading off don't leave us and you will understand this it's one of those cards that i'm like so attached to i haven't been able to even give it to anyone but i must do that i should have i should have made two right if i made two then i would have had one for me one to give away this struggle is real people you get it so i want to show you this little card here so these were ones that bruno made with that handsomely suited um and these this paper in the background is that masculine one that i'm i mentioned to you that is well worth looking at getting that extra paper but here's baby shark oh look how cute it is isn't that totes adorbs yeah so i'm gonna miss that one that one's a really really cute one and what else do we have on here um now many messages are staying but it just won't be at the 10 bundle uh always in my heart i had a really beautiful card i did with that one i love that set yeah all the paper oh kangaroo and company yeah and this treasure medallion gorgeous yeah there's a little card set so i reckon that's a little winner that one and i reckon that'll sell out because you get all of the all of these cool cards here the card bases yeah it's a really cute little kit and i don't know how many cards it makes it looks like it makes three of each card so that's like nine little note cards so that's a bit of a gem just an fyi don't miss out on that one oh the kiss punch i barely got to play with that i need to play with that some more so yeah so come over here have a look at all the retiring products before they sell out and just remember too that this host one here that one is um absolutely stunning because it's got a sort of sample of all the different ones in the set the clips oh so many beautiful ones yep so let's have a little play together let's commiserate together [Laughter] so that we can we could say goodbye i hate saying goodbye to things i love especially paper paper's hard one good thing though about stampin up is they do bring out some more good paper but you still got to say goodbye to the old paper which is always really sad beautiful love it i'm ready i'm ready for some coloring people so there were some colors that i saw online you know when you see a card and you're like oh those colors are beautiful together i would never have put those colors together and it was actually a merry merlot color so it's a bit of a shame i don't have a merry merlot blend but i thought the cherry cobbler will be a good a good alternative and i've got some petal pink just to tone it down a little bit and then i thought i'll try out the just jade and the soft succulent together i think this will be a really really pretty combo now if you've never done blends before that is okay i am not a colorist i've never been the best at coloring in but the cool thing about blends is they make you look like a genius they really do you go oh my goodness look how professional i look now some people start with dark some people start with light totally and utterly up to you but i will tell you what i like to do um so with me now of course with love it chop it i've probably you know usually you've chopped this down that is totally fine you um yeah you can still color when they're like chopped see even here on the side they're still going to be useful to you um so say if i'd chopped it in half you're still going to have all of these brilliant flowers here that you can chop out but this one i kept as a 12 by 12 sheet because i thought you know what i probably will end up wanting to keep these flowers and fussy cut them out so having a look here if i go for i'll go for the dark first and i do i do tend to go dark first that is my sort of way to go and i just follow some of these lines that stampin up have already got for us because they're kind of telling me what's going on here with the in terms of shading and that sort of thing um i do like it to be darker on the inside for flowers like towards and then as it comes out in the petal it's going to get lighter from there so the depth of color the dark color comes from the inside and then work out and that really is the only sort of rules that i create for myself in terms of coloring and that's just from watching what other people have done and going oh that looks really good why does that look good and analyzing why it looks good and going ah they've done all the dark color towards the center so just watch what other people do um like even these curled bit here you know you can see that there's sort of depth of color even on those curled parts and yet the other parts can be quite light depending on how much room you've got to play depends on you know what color you can bring in oh sorry my head's in the way thank you everyone so let me zoom in actually for you as well that will be even better so that you can really see close up what i'm doing because some yeah it's very fine details so you can see here where i was saying before you can follow the lines and follow inside and i'm using the pointy end and just following those lines that stampin up have already put on there for me so it looks very ridiculous you'll be like what on earth is this going to look like but this is the amazing thing about blends is though those bits of color become texture they sort of take on a whole different look when you start blending it in so let's give that a try i can add a few more bits even there so i'll bring in the thank you cheryl thanks bevelling i do like it up close it's cool hey isn't that amazing what you can do with cameras now now this is a very well used pen i actually need to do a bit of a replacement here i think he's looking very frayed not afraid just frayed so what i'm going to do is just sort of come in a little bit but i want to bring in my petal pink on the edge because this is still very very dark it will tone down but we'll just see here when we bring in it's good when our items get used well hi diane yes i'll um i'll give you the link for the card templates they're very very handy those templates so i might even come in with the other side just to bring in this color have a bit more control in these smaller areas so it's not going to make any sense whatsoever at the moment because what we're doing is we're building our color and then the petal pink is what's going to bring it all together and it's going to smooth out all these lines it's going to blend everything together but you could say in a way that we're building drama because we love the drama well i don't love the drama but the drama loves me taylor swift coat okay now let's bring in the piece of resistance the one color that's going to make this all make sense because right now you're like um is kylie five is kylie a five-year-old child coloring in okay so even though this is a light color this is the cool thing about the blends and some people forget this about the blends is that you can bring in other colors that are lighter and really blend this in you just keep going and you'll see it slowly start sort of seeping in it is quite amazing you've never done this jessie i know it's a shock to many people because you think you're going to ruin it but look there's nothing on here like it doesn't pick up any of the any of the color yeah you just keep sort of circling circling circling until it picks up that color and it just softens those edges you'll see it happen before your eyes where those edges those hard lines start sort of fading oh i went a bit out here but that's okay i'll be snipping so look at that already look at the change and what's really cool too with the blends and it's probably another underutilized tool but is the um color lifter so if you want to soften it and we have quite a number of the color lifters we've got probably three or four of these and what the color lifter can do for you is just again pick up that color and soften some of those edges that you might find are a bit too hard or a bit too full on and tone down the um [Music] the color and just give like it just gives this like more natural sort of feel to it because if it's too intense like um coloring is all about trying to create light and shade and depth of color and i really love being able to come in with this just really simple you saw what i did didn't even have a particular spot where i wanted to come in and you might even like where you've gone out of the lines you might even be able to soften those ones because it does actually pick up the color like it'll be wet for a bit but it does pick up that color and just tone it right down so that if you do go out of the lines it's like your little buddy you're like thanks buddy i went i bled out the lines and it just picks up that color yeah it's cool hey yeah it's a really different combo but i like it so then we can come in here and see how it's like really like oh hard lines whereas here you can see that softness coming in so you just got to keep going keep going you've got to kind of stick with it because you're thinking to yourself what on earth am i doing here and then all of a sudden it just starts breaking down that color and blending you do need to be a little bit patient with it and just keep circling keep coming in and you can see that change happening that's so crazy isn't it it just changes so different yeah yes oh elaine attending love heidi it's friday heidi i think heidi thought it was friday yesterday she's like kylie where's your live i'm like uh brittany's like are you meant to be going live somewhere today heidi's asking i said i think heidi thinks that it's friday and yes we have our crazy crafters team meeting this afternoon at one o'clock now once you've finished if you look at this and you go oh i want to add a little bit more oh i should have added some more of the cherry cobbler in a section that's okay you still can that's the amazing thing about this is you can come in because it really doesn't matter i mean i probably should be putting something underneath here i forgot to do that i'm going to put some grid paper under there but that's okay i can just use some alcohol um some icy coal to probably remove that because look at that it sticks on pretty well or stays on cleaner takes it off i know kylie kylie kylie what to do with kylie so i'll just put i'll see if this icic hole works this is only a low a low one but yeah you can see there i mean i probably need to clean the rest of my table with alcohol but yeah you can just keep layering like that's the cool thing all that's just going to happen is it will just bleed through but you're not going to be using that we'll get some cool little grip paper here which i should have popped on underneath there we go happy days i wasn't here nothing happened [Music] and we'll even add a few here too really looks amazing i can't wait to see with the um the leaves so there you go you can just add and then color over the top again like the one up here it's looking very and just bring in some of this just to soften it even more and it just sort of tones it down blends it in gives it such an amazing textural effect yeah and then i think with this one so let's just test it here i'm going to be cutting out so i'm just going to do it over here i've got this beautiful color that's the soft succulent and i've also got the just jade so i might actually do the just jade as the dark yes this is the dark so this is going to be my tone my layering and then i'll come over the top with the soft succulent so you don't have to do like just jade dark just jade light like you don't have to stay predictable you can branch into mashing up different colors which is very exciting when you start sort of playing with different color combinations it's going to give different texture and different colors oh i love that josh jade so pretty yeah so this is the this is the light soft succulent and what i love about this green is it does actually have like this beautiful sort of blue hue to it it's a stunning stunning green this new soft succulent but having that just jade base again you can see that depth of color that's come through look it's got that um layer behind it that gives it texture and depth oh so pretty what do we think [Applause] uh so what we've got here is just this little bit here i colored some of these using blending brushes it gives a more watercolored look ah very good [Applause] hi jenny so i absolutely love that so there's a little bit missing here but you'll see as we cut it out this is the cool thing you know some of you have been saying oh you're studying the lines but once you cut it you won't even it won't even be a thing you won't even notice it because um yeah it just the eye doesn't go there so i'll just come back out again we'll do some fussy cutting together now i know a lot of you are not keen fussy cutters but i do love to fussy cut so with this particular paper it's just good to look after the other pieces around because i will more than likely come back and use some of these at some stage so i want to keep the other sections intact as much as i can i'm just going to come around sort of do a really really brief chop around just to get it out of here and then that will give me more space to get up close and personal [Applause] voila so we've got all these beautiful pieces still saved but now we can come in a little bit closer with this one and as i've said to most of you with fussy cutting you don't want to be moving the scissors you want to be moving the paper so i'm moving my left hand with the paper not necessarily the scissors the scissors are just kind of just staying where they are all i'm doing is the chopping action and just wobbling this around moving it around because a lot of our issues with fussy cutting i think comes when we're changing direction so um you know say we've got a this little situation here where we're coming up to a corner so what you're going to do like some people will go and they'll move their scissors but just move your paper move your paper and then it's in the right direction and then you don't have those like sort of jaggedy wonky lines gorgeous now the different techniques that you've got at your hands there's a lot of different ones and i actually need to play with our new pastels a bit more i should actually have a go now because a few people have given me some tips and tricks i think with the pastels the new pastels i'll probably end up um using it with my blends um the blender pen sorry not the blends these are blends here the blender pens are very useful um they're like an extension of your stamp and write markers because they're water-based but they're super handy you can use it with your watercoloring pencils as well so they have a lot of different uses yeah it's coming up nice isn't it once you start sort of cutting it out and then layering it it's just so pretty it's just a little different combo where i thought um got to keep that one in mind because it's not a color combo i would ever think of using but check that out isn't that just absolutely gorgeous and the depth of different color really really pretty so let's have a play with this now that we've got our inspo now that we've got our crowning glory we know where to go from here so what i might do is let's just see what colors we want to do so we could do we could even go for the cherry cobbler look which i think would be really nice because i don't use it enough as a base and there's a color combo which would be really lovely so if we get uh get a few of these so we're gonna need one two three four yes because we do three card bases so if you're new to my accordion card this card is a really great card if you want to sort of i don't know do something a little bit more fancy or if you have a few friends that want to write in a card so it's good if it's like a going away party at work or something that the family all want to sign so you're just going to do your regular card bases whatever that is in your country oh yeah and i need to add the link for the pdf if you're looking for my pdf tutorial for the card templates that's them there okay so we'll save that one yeah it's not a color that i utilize enough i think but i i just look at that it just will bring out all of those gorgeous deep colors that have come from that flower and i think on the darker paper it's really going to pop off the page and so you're just going to fold these three as usual and then the accordion card is really fun because you're just going to be overlapping these card bases and then you get to decorate which is always fun i love doing a bit of decorating it is 10 45 here oh why is that small and that large should i cut something wrong here that wouldn't surprise me because kylie got distracted i think i might have cut it at yes i did oh what to do with carly it's all right nothing will get wasted this this one's our spare piece for scrap metal i think my blades need a bit of a change because they're leaving a a bit of an indentation see here it's got like a little tiny tiny tiny little line there so i start knowing that it needs to change but they last a lot longer are you all finding that i really like the new trimmer it's lasting a lot longer the blades so what we're going to do is and let's see if i can remember how to do this because it's been a while in fact i think i've got a prototype still because you know i couldn't let go couldn't let go of my oh yeah that's it i don't actually need it that looks right but i'll pull out the other one just in case because it's just a lot of fun to have these oh i think that actually might be better yes when we meet in the middle with those two yes so you're sticking those two down and then it it sits like that that's much neater now you're going to have a little bit of overhang because you know we haven't changed any minute we tried to keep this as simple as possible so there's going to be a little tiny bit of overhang but it's you know once you put like a little belly band and decorate it they won't even notice they'll just be an ore of your amazing card so it just means that yeah that's going to be stuck down there but what we will do i think we can we can do the sticking now of these two and then we'll do the decorating i'll just pull out my card that i have done in the past there we go just to give you an idea here so you can see that this type of card it's just really beautiful because you can it's just really stepped up this one i did oh yeah i went that way around but yeah i think i'll change it this time so we're going to do some decorating on the inside you can see this is perfect for designer series paper showing off the paper and then you can open up tool to these beautiful four panels on the inside so you could do like inspirational quotes you could do like a little photo album and you can see here you can really go to town in terms of what you want to put on the inside and even here on the back because we had the ribbon and i'm going to be using a nice ribbon as well and then covering the back with the designer series paper hides that ribbon really nicely as well i miss this paper this is why you need to get the paper before it leaves forever that's it you can't even get that paper ever again it has gone forever so make sure you get the papers that you want to get from the um mini catalog so i think that doing it this way is going to be a lot neater in terms of having your front as the front and then having these two pieces and then opening up to the four so let's just stick those down so you can see how they're can you see how that is take a good look oh i need a new glue i used the end of the drew last night i was doing the um crazy craft just swaps and um because we do a swap with all the new products and we've got a whole pile of exciting swaps sitting in bruno's room very exciting so i'm just putting the tombow glue on and then what you want to line up for is not necessarily this edge i'd love it to completely be straight but you want to give this space to be able to close so it is going to have that little bit of tiny overhang but i think it'll be fine no one will even know they'll be too busy in aura of your beautiful card [Laughter] [Applause] because i feel like once you start adjusting things and changing the base and adding this and that it just becomes all too complicated i'm like please make it easy for me now hopefully that closes yes [Laughter] okay good that looks very very good so that's just the base of our accordion card and now we have this amazing blank canvas to go to town on yes let's party with this baby so what's some other colors that i can no you didn't finish in time heidi yeah i changed the color last night i thought you know what i feel like a bit of color i needed i needed some color so we have some gorgeous gorgeous papers here now the cool thing about this paper oh yes is that we can utilize the fact that it has some white and we could even color that in if we wanted to so let me have a look here on the front i might just do a smaller panel let's do some love it chub it and chop this baby up into card fronts so if you've done my or if you've got out card templates you'll know exactly what i'm doing here for love it chocolate this is how easy it is to make six perfect card fronts for your card making out of the 12x12 really really simple really easy and then it means you have from one sheet of designer series paper you have six full card fronts just like this because a lot of us struggle with knowing how to cut our paper this is how i do mine you can do it any way you like but i just like an easy simple solution and this is mine so then i can do a full card or i can chop this down now so it just gives me options here of what i want to do now one thing i do want to do with this is have a bit of fun and see what this looks like but i'm going to come in with my cherry cobbler and change this paper isn't this cool so this is what i love about black and white paper is it just you can just make it be whatever you want it to be if i want it to be a certain color this is so much fun i just love doing this this is just going to change this paper completely [Music] love it now that will tone down so that it doesn't look so dark although in the camera it looks pretty good and then we have this beautiful matching background isn't that fun i just think that's so cool because that was like what oh it doesn't even look like it goes but this oh yeah it is very happy yep you can use the ink pad too i love that caroline yeah whatever you prefer you could slide it across i've done that before which is really cool yep so i'm going to stick that down [Laughter] and then we're going to create like a little platform for our gorgeous flower to sit on and be the hero so i want to work out where i'm going to place this yeah i think that i want it to sit yeah i think it needs to sit that way the flowers seem in the right happy place now all i want to do is pretty much just have a size that gives me an opportunity to pop a sentiment here because i don't want it to cover too much of that gorgeous paper we've just colored so this is where the our card template tutorial comes in really handy and what you can do is you can look at different um look at different sort of sizes to see what's going to fit what you're looking for and that's what i love about these card templates is they're you know they give you the measurements basically they help you to see what is going to be the best option for what you have what's going to display the most amount of your work so once you work out what template you want i have the measurements on the on the other side and then it spits it out for me in my measurements for my country so i know very cool right so this is the mint macaron layer oh i think that one's gonna be the right size i like the way that it fits that it's even and i do like the amount of room that that flower has so that's going to be my size so i'm going to cut a piece of whisper white cardstock in the mint macaron layer size so i've got some whisper i mean basic white here i'm still not used to saying basic white and i'm cutting it down the size that it told me so that's why i like these templates they they're kind of like a converter for me but also they help me like as a real life card template oh wow gorgeous now if i wanted to with that layer let me just have a look here because i do have some other layers that go with this one yes perfect so i've got another layer here the highland header layer very very tiny tiny little slither it's a very small layer but i'm going to do that in the cherry cobbler so that we've got just something to ground that layer there not necessary but i think all of those finer little details make a big difference and you'll see here when we put that because ma card making is all about the layers and matting and when you can get your layers right it yeah it makes such a big difference and it's the difference between oh the screen's gone dark oh sorry everyone i'd notch something thank you i hear i hit a button so 11.4 i'm getting excited in my creativity so very very tiny little layer here you might think uh not even worth it but i really think especially when you layer that i just love that sort of extra little tiny touches that makes a big difference so what sentiment would we like with this one well i might have a look and see what the uh what sentiments we've got here that go with this one so there's a stamp set not the fine art floral one i'm having a look at some of the oh the brushed the brushed blooms has got some beautiful actually yeah i've got it i've got it people i'm excited i'm going to use the blush brushed blooms and it actually is on sale half price yeah let's let's highlight this one oh no that's not awesome sorry grab the wrong one blushed blue [Music] there it is i'm like i'm sure it's here so ah i haven't even used this that's why it needs to get inked i knew there was a reason i was pulling this out for my forever friend oh isn't that the most beautiful sentiment so i'm going to stamp that yes let's do some stamping now i might actually use my stamparatus for this because i do like doing it for sentiments it's quite handy stay there trimmer and i'll show you what i mean so what i like to do is just line up where i want my sentiment to go grab your little magnet so sort of guesstimate where you think is the right um straightness because this is the big issue right is getting this sentiment straight but when you flip it over it will show you here using the grid lines which are very difficult to see probably for you guys but you can just do a little bit of a tiny little adjustment to where you feel it's going to sit straight and it's not going to be perfect but it's definitely going to be better than me eyeballing where i think it's straight [Laughter] by using the back of the step so i'm really happy with that because i can see here even with this one where it sits now if you can't see this properly the grid lines because they are very faint you can use your actual grid paper behind and that will give you another idea as well using that as to how straight it is and where it's sitting just make sure it's lined up correctly you can sort of tuck it in behind your actual top section here um yeah and i find that helps me get my sentiments lined up nicely now i'm going to use some memento i was going to use some cherry cobbler but i think it will look good in the memento so ink that up and the cool thing about doing sentiments with your stamparatus is if it doesn't stamp properly guess what you can just do it again dust up my nose i'll leave that there and just grab your chamois your shamwow and you can do oh it needs a little bit of more water and just clean that off done thank you stamparatus my trusty little stampin friend he's so handy so we're going to stick that down i'll just move this out of the way so i don't end up with memento ink on my hand yes and we decided like that ah look how pretty that is now before we stick down and this is something you've got to remember with the accordion card before we stick down these layers is you're going to remember we're going to be putting some ribbon through here so let's just have a look at that before we stick it down and i was channeling and hopefully this one i'm pretty sure this one's still a current one ah this is the finite floral one that's going this i don't know if this is staying this one let's have a look because it's so pretty look at that gold i think it does need to have a little bit of gold brought in oh there's the ribbon oh it's still staying yes we do love a bit of gold ribbon so just um you can sort of wrap it around like so nothing too um difficult and then you'll know and it's better to have more than not enough and then chop that so there we go that's our ribbon sorted and we're going to do the exact same paper on the back as well so we'll have this piece here like so i do like having this showing on this one on the front because it's going to be part of the the beauty but on the back i'm going to cover this with our sheet like so isn't that cool so let's just stick that down now you have a few options with your um ribbon i like to do either the um glue dots or even the tear and tape is really good for ribbon particularly because if you want to work out exactly where you want your ribbon to go and you sort of estimate exactly where it is i think i want it a little bit lower yes so then it's coming sort of outside of that leaf but you know anywhere is going to look amazing because that ribbon's incredible and so you can just have like that strip ready to go peel it off if you struggle with peeling this this is where your um take your pick tool is really handy for those of you that might not have nails and then voila like so and then once you've done one side the other side's like so much easier and you can even go directly onto your ribbon just to make sure it's all straight and happy just be careful not to go beyond the the line it's like oops i'll just do it on here it's easier so i'll show you here with the take your pick tool you just use the this end here to lift it and if it if it doesn't lift you just push it back down so that it stays flat so really handy tool that one and voila isn't that pretty and now we can stick this down i'm gonna put this on dimensionals because you know why not and also maybe i'll even put our flower on dimensionals let's have a look oh yeah it needs it all needs dimensionals we're dimensional mad in this household and i think maybe some really nice like matte black dots will look good too on here yay elaine just got her paper shares yeah that's good stab those backings off i do like it sort of hovering yeah about them and then we'll put some on here actually i've got some of their edges here to use on this one so we'll just chop a few edges i love using all of this up it's so rewarding feels so good when you finish a whole sheet it's like yes accomplishment it even does it with the big backing on these ones it's so good yeah straight in the bin i know you're proud of me everyone i'm proud of me and voila oh so pretty much that just to really bring that now if we wanted to we've got a few options but i think i really do feel in my heart to use the um matte black dots but you could bring in the gold ones but these are just i'm just in love with these matte black dots okay they came a bit skewiff but don't worry they they are perfectly fine but if yours come like this then just contact stampin up but yeah these are fine if they weren't working i'd contact them but they're happy so what i like to do with these dots um i like having some of them together and i do like it being odd so an odd amount so you either do five three that's my sort of rule of thumb for me um but yeah do whatever you prefer and what also would be nice here is if you wanted to add some even um of the gold leafing on there would be really nice um we've got wink of stella here so remember to use your wink of stella um actually we'll do we'll see the difference between using the stamp pad we'll see if it makes a a change so you just get your stamp pad and you can run the run it along probably a little bit quicker than coloring with your blends i know this seems really random and messy it's actually quite fun so for those of you that receive ink pads that sometimes are a little bit inky right you get new ink pads you're like what on earth am i gonna do with this this is a great way to utilize the rest of your inky ink pad this is this is how you undo your your inkiness just get a piece of um cardstock and um or a piece of paper and use this just getting some tissues i meant to move this box over because i do not want to end up getting there you go it's a little bit messier than the blends and it's a bit darker so let's see if that tones down i'll do that before i'll give it time to chill before we put it on the card because that will give us the because it might end up becoming too dark but yeah we'll see we will play it by ear should i use the yeah cherry cobbler good i'm like did i use cajun craze and then that's going to go on the back now just some ideas for you jesse what is happening it's a murder it is already softening yeah i think it's going to be good i mean it's a very different look to the blends this is probably a little bit lighter but just so that you've got that option there i might do one that is the same just so that it matches one another i've used the same same technique on both sides and you can see here this is actually getting used very well i might actually use some of the light one it might actually get to the point where i'm like i've got to get a new blend i've got to do an update because i've used it all oh your brushes are good too yeah absolutely good one yes um uh blending brushes that's a very very good way of doing it you can tell i must need more coffee our blending brushes are actually um on low stock so just keep that in mind in australia if you love our blending brushes i mean who wouldn't i love those brushes they're so amazing i'm actually sad now that i didn't do the um cherry cobbler light because it looks amazing i actually like it a whole lot better because it's yeah really popping off the page i don't know if you can see the difference between those two it's just a little bit lighter and so yeah it would be a really nice accent behind there see we were meant to test all these things out and then if you do what um everyone else mentioned before blending brushes this is the cool thing with stampin up we have so many different options for color so you can just come in here do a little circle with your brush very soft you don't need to go crazy and then you just bring it in like so and so that will have another really beautiful soft gorgeous look to it i actually really love this as well so just pick up that color bring it in i just do circles it works well for me but whatever works for you and that's a lot quicker isn't it that's a really great way of bringing in your color onto your paper thank you for mentioning that um oh that's the next door neighbors dogs thanks for bringing that in cheryl i really like that both of those are really beautiful but yeah remember our brushes because they're awesome so what we'll do is we'll stick this down on the back so that at least the main front part of the card is all done yeah the neighbors little doggies they well they're actually very big dogs and neighbors dogs every now and then they like to have conversations with the other dogs in the neighborhood ugh that is just so so pretty look at that are you happy with that i'm really happy with this card and then what you can do so we could even still use these pieces here and then these can be like little um sayings or you know whatever you want to sort of bring in you can you can have those um quotes maybe there's photos whatever you want to do you can um bring that in don't they know that i'm doing a very important live video this morning it does look like a severe injury occurred i'll stick those down because i really like those [Laughter] yeah the blending brushes are amazing just love them and then on the inside so we've got a few different papers here to choose from and i haven't even got all of them here because i've used some of them but i think having a mixture of some of these flowers and you could totally um color those to have you know to go with this it's just so so pretty you could even color the background if you wanted to like use your blends and color in i've seen that done that looks really good as well um what's this one over here oh yeah that's that same one that same sheet so probably i might do a mashup of the dots and these ones although i'll probably have to do it um no i think i'll have to do oh yeah i've got another one of these here let's have a look at the dots we'll chop some of these oh they have gone on back order i saw this morning that they were low so they've already gone on back order oh yes you're gonna love the brushes just keep keep playing with them like you know it's like anything it's not you may not find that it's perfect the first time you might get a big lump of ink and then think oh no how does this work how am i gonna do this um but just keep keep sort of playing around with it and um yeah you'll get you'll get used to it so i'm just doing these two together because you can in this trimmer did you know that i know it's amazing love love love the new trim trim tremor and this one so i love this dottie too it's so sweet can never have too much dotty paper dotties and stripes yes cool oh i've got my inky hands on this one so i'll definitely use that one i will definitely sponge that one and i think there's another one here that needs sponging good i've got one more yes i think those two will be good good mix up on the inside and again we'll do our cherry cobbler yes the new mini postponed so it's august it was going to be july but wow is this exciting so you could even do like a an ombre look if you wanted to like a darkest to lightest if you really wanted to highlight that just keep bringing the duck and then bringing it down into this lower section and that looks really really pretty uh demonstrators should be able to see it soon i think on the website they were saying in 12 days or something like that demonstrators can see the new catalog because um we end the trip we've already got to see it yes look at this crazy hair yes we already got to see it and i think you'll be very happy as always i don't know how stampin up keep doing it seriously they're amazing yeah this is good this is better than using the blends quicker i'm all for i'm all for time efficiency this has been really fun today i was like i know i want to make a car but i don't want to just i just felt like i wanted to do something a little bit more than just the front it's actually a lot of fun decorating the inside too so see how i've got like a piece here that's really really sponged a lot so all you do is just bring in some more ink keep going oops keep sponging you're bringing in that color sort of around it and then that will just give it some more depth of color and slowly slowly gradually it takes a little bit of time but you can fix it if you do a little bit of a boo-boo it just means that your your work will be probably darker than you expected it to be oh thumbs up beautiful so fun oh that's an arm workout i've worked it out so i think if we do something like that although these two better match up because they will look very random if they don't so we better make this a bit darker at the top here layer a bit more color so you can actually make it quite strong in color you just have to be patient and just keep layering i think that's going to look a little bit better i might actually do the whole thing because on the camera it looks really random but in person it looks a lot better i'll just do the whole lot the same color the ombre effect does not look good on screen that's better oh beautiful love it gee of it we did we loved it chopped it this morning we sure did so we'll stick those down and actually i'll have a little look here and see i think it might actually work out better to do it like so and having them on the outside panels in fact after all of that do we want to i really like that [Laughter] i know that's very random everyone but i'm going that way because that's how i roll no one can solve a problem like kylie betuchi i really like it oh oh no they're so beautiful they're all so pretty yep let's do all of them it's my prerogative to change my mind you all know that i was just doing some some arm exercises oh good i love it too oh beautiful yeah i'm glad i swapped to this because then you just like flowers oh yeah it's so pretty and then if you wanted to you could color those and i think yeah it's a really nice welcoming ah so and then it brings it ties in the front it all makes sense now because it's like flowers everywhere so what you can do here and i highly recommend using what template would i recommend because you want to still see the paper so you could probably use let's have a look here i think maybe these two oh they're a little bit too big those ones let's just have a look and see if there's a smaller card template layer layer upon layer upon layer let's have a look here oh yes i think i've got the one that i you'd like to use which is the petal pink and the mint macaron layer and so what you can do is cut these down so i would do the petal pink layer i would do in the cherry cobbler and then the and you don't have to have panels on all of them you might just have panels on two one could be a sentiment or you could just do like one one panel only and just have like beautiful decorations so it's totally up to you what you end up doing um you might have like a sentiment with quotes that you put in here depending on what your idea is but it's just yeah the world is your oyster and you can go for it you can decorate this however you would like to which is really cool so yeah if you did that you could have nothing on these this could just be like the opening am i working for sara lee now i'd like to [Laughter] just sarah lee something to say about changing my mind is my prerogative so i might just do uh the one yeah i think i'm just gonna do one frame here yep or you can alternate yes totally whatever you whatever you look at i'm just hoping this gives you lots of inspo to just do this little piece here he just wants to stay up like that but isn't this fun so they're your layers so if you don't have our card template um tutorial then highly worth it because you can see here we've used quite a number of um different um and you could even do the same on the front in fact if you wanted a little bit bigger layer instead of this smaller one then this this would work in if on every panel um so the main things that you're using in our card um tutorial oh my goodness i've got sponging all over this no one saw a thing so you need that for your card base or layer upon layer um that's for your for your paper and then the bases were these so you did three of these gorgeous great faces then your paper is going to be the poppy parade layer size and then the front and all of your inserts are going to be the petal pink and mint macaron layer so they're the only layers that you actually need the only measurements and then you have this awesome card that you can play with and decorate i know right it's gorgeous but um i'll have a little play afterwards we'll just tie this up so you can see what it looks like and if you want to cut the end you can but i'm just going to do something like that where i do a little knot um because i think that will oh look at that it looks to come undone on itself oh there we go that's a bit better so you can just do a little loose knot here and that is really pretty look at that would you be happy to receive this card i know i would know i'd be very happy to receive this card so yeah i'll leave it there because you know we could we could go on for another two hours if we wanted to i'll just come back and i'll open it up for us all yes mini album that's why i thought i'll leave it as is and just see what comes up that i want to use this for because if i lock myself in now it may not suit what i want to do oh is that just a jessica brigdon hello jess hi jessica i'll say it like david hi jessica look at that so yeah i'm gonna have a bit of fun playing with that but i just absolutely love that coloring oh blends you are my friend but i've i've realized um that i need to do get a another cherry cobbler i need to refill going to treat myself and get it get a new blend and then that soft succulent with the just jade ah and the petal pink who would have thought cherry cobbler and petal pink i know i hope that this inspires you to get creative today get coloring pull out that sheet of um beautiful paper or maybe you want to order some more of this so you can just sit there and do some coloring like especially if you're watching television or something like that it's such a beautiful thing to do get a stable table and just do some coloring go into your happy place we need everything we can possibly get at our disposal to just let us come and chill yes i'm glad we i'm glad this turned out the way it did again we we have been very very fortunate that it didn't turn into an absolute flop because you know at the end of the day we'll just make something up and we'll fix it or we can start again that's the beauty of card making right we can just go nah don't like it just start again but usually i can if i don't like it usually i can redeem it somehow it's like surely there's something i could do here surely there's some way of fixing this look at all the ink everywhere so thank you all very much for this is the other one this is the other bit that's so hot right now and you know what i have behind it's such a cool idea i just wanted to like layer this just so that it popped off the page a bit i used the what are they called those layers look at this hand i haven't killed anyone i promise it wasn't me officer ah these amazing layering dioramas who would have thought i layered a diorama behind the flowers with velum with some vellum i know isn't that cool so this and this might be coming together somehow for the swaps but we shall see i'm in the process of finishing finishing those and if
