[Music] what we do hello stamping friends this is sarah i'm actually down in canada utah at our manufacturing facility and i thought i would do a few behind the scenes videos for you i probably won't post all of them today i thought i'd do one live so that you could comment if you're awake it's early morning here so wherever you are um in the world let me know where that is and then if you have questions i'll try to catch those as we go through the video so the process that i'm going to show you today is the paper cutting and packaging area which is super fun and kind of cool hi hey how are you guys so come on in and um i'll show you kind of how this works behind the scenes i've got some very brave employees that are going to help me out um and kind of show you how this process works so um yeah stick with me this will be kind of fun let me flip this camera around okay all right so here we are this is how our cardstock comes to us they are in parent sheets what color do we have here shane this is early espresso and you can see it's really big this is shane say hi okay and he's going to kind of walk us through how this works so i'll let you do your thing okay have at it okay so this machine right here shakes the paper shane's building some muscles shaking that card stock over there see how big those parent sheets are not shaking the cardstock down i know right stacy so he's actually weighing it as well the machine over here kind of weighs it so that he's got the proper amount and then he slides it over to the big cutting machine so shane about how many sheets is that 400 yeah they're about 400 sheets there you guys all right so talk to me about how this works i use the darker we know how much you guys don't like rough edges so we're going to cut off all the rough edges so that we can square all of your sheets up so you've got a nice clean face and you want to use that to go off so we're clearing up the car cheese and you notice shane's got to push two buttons one button here and one button over there that's so he doesn't cut his fingers clean edges and now he's cutting the actual sheet of cardstock isn't it cool this is how our card stock is cut you guys now he's going to line all those sheets back up and cut the other direction square up that cardstock i know you guys are thinking what can we do with all these extra pieces of cardstock so what happens with all of the offsets they're actually put in chuck can you tell me what happens to all this kind of stuff that that ends up being recycled we recycle that right now currently guys until we can come up with something cool to do with it so then he slides it over lines it up okay and then it goes into this cool machine right here and then it's put onto a palette look at all that beautiful card stock and there you have it and then he goes to the next section somebody's done the math and they say that's 144 packages of cardstock you may be right how many packages do you think that is yep all of this production happens in canada utah gale oh i think um dina yeah all of this in kanab i'm in southern utah you know i think dean has to ask that so so shane do you cut a four sheets all right awesome hey you guys any questions for shane and all this cool stuff there's our cutter and then our big pair of shoes look how huge these things are okay i think we're good okay i'm gonna take you guys over to thank shane and take you guys over to the paper co-waiting section okay so check this out she's going to kind of walk us through this process okay so so once the paper leaves shane comes over she's fanning the paper and putting it into the feeder so it can be collated so she's feeding the machine back here and then check this out so it lines up and you start piling up your cardstock to create your packaging so then i'll walk in and down the line now this machine is kind of temperamental we've got some rain down here and so every day they have to check for humidity and sometimes the paper will swell a little bit so it's very um it's an arduous process isn't that cool oh what's your favorite color monica okay so then it goes down to this machine and this is where we get shrunk wrap okay so i have to tell you guys this whole paper cutting thing i used to count paper by hand when i was little so this is like a far cry from what the process used to be obviously then we're gonna go through this is the shank one this is the plastic that it gets it goes into the plastic and cuts it into individual packages okay so let me show you guys this this is where it's gonna cut it all of this was done by hand when i was little and it's so fun to see how things have improved and become more efficient over time and that's going into the heat tunnel to get shrink wraps this is where it sticks to that parts back guys okay so once it comes out the label machine is fitting the label on the package these are our packages monica and cecilia hey guys say hi and they're packing them into the boxes yeah so they're gonna get everything all ready to go up to riverton so it can be shipped out does they want to know if the heat affects the card stock no no it does not good question mary the temperature in the building affects the way it shrinks though okay so the temperature in the building affects the way that it shrinks so there you go another one of those little temperamental things they all want to wrap their christmas presents this way that would be easy that would be fun okay that's our paper cutting and packaging area you guys so there's your behind the scenes look and um i will probably film some other ones today and show them to you later so it's been awesome okay they want to know anything so just do what you love live
