[Music] i am not loading all that up again hello everyone welcome back to the channel we're going to be doing some wood cutting and getting some logs for the firewood we've been cutting them all up and splitting them and burning them it's now what is it now december 14th or so so we're gonna go out and get some we had a puppy delivery in toronto today so i took the day off work to bring the puppy there so i have some time and so i thought i would go back to the bush and go get some wood so come on along [Music] uh [Music] [Music] [Music] so all right so we're right back into the bush so about 15 minute drive or so with the tractor uh this isn't actually our property this is our neighbor's property our neighbor has been super nice has always said you know as much wood as you would like you're welcome to it there's i remember uh richard saying there's probably 10 20 years worth of ash back there so for those of you not familiar um we have the emerald ash borer uh which is basically just taking out all of the ash trees we we had one surviving one on our property it died this year so i cut it down uh it was just a small one but yeah so lots of ash falling ash i thought i'd be able to you know cut down a tree everyone likes to see a tree being fell or fallen including myself but there's a nice one up here pretty big in diameter and it's already on the ground so can't turn that down and uh yeah so we'll get that cleared up and we'll get to work here so there she is there nice big diameter i didn't bring the truck back with me i just brought the bucket so i want big diameter stuff so i can best get the most amount of wood make it worthwhile for my trip so in our wood stove our wood stove is it'll take 16 inch pieces or about 50 and a half so we're not fighting with it so i cut them into about 31 inch pieces i'm wondering if i can get three uh what's that 45 46 and a half inches uh cut that and then that way i can have more sticking out of the bucket get more uh to haul home but we'll give it a roll and we'll see [Music] uh [Music] [Applause] [Music] wow [Music] foreign foreign so i just realized i thought i threw in a can of uh gas but apparently i didn't so i guess i'm going back to get some fuel ah these aren't even cut all the way through so it's not even like i can bring these back make the trip worthwhile [Music] well ended up uh driving past the neighbor's little cabin and saw that he was there he had a little ranger so i stopped in to say hello to him and uh told him what happened and he's like oh well hey if you want to take the ranger back that'd be a whole lot quicker for you so here i am in the ranger and uh i'm going to zip home get some fuel so should be a lot quicker [Applause] [Music] grace hey you didn't see any fuel did you oh yeah oh hey that's where i put it yes you're gonna need it i'm gonna need it i ran out all right so we got fuel so back we go oh man [Music] so well that was easy [Music] um [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so we've got seven logs chopped up here i'm hoping that the length is going to be enough to hold that in oh so [Applause] so my thought is i've got the four lined up here they are hooked on the edge of the bucket leaning against it this will add weight onto the back end and then when i lift it and tip it i should be able to well i don't know if i should be able to i hope i'll be able to let's see so all right so we got them all piled up i don't know if they're gonna get all the way back to the house but uh let's see how far we can get yikes we i the next thing i want to build i've actually talked to my neighbor he's a welder and we're hoping to get a an attachment build up an attachment that goes on the three-point hitch on the back and then we can stack them this way and use the three-point hitch to to pick them up but this will have to work for now hoping well we tried i am not loading all that up again [Music] [Applause] [Music] do [Music] all right well that'll do it for now got the uh logs home i was worried that it was gonna fall off on the road but they're pretty secure actually on there so i'll have to think of a better way to transport them home maybe i'll have to do it with a truck until i can get a set up on the three-point hitch but it worked for now and there's quite a they're pretty pretty wide in diameter we've got uh oh it's hard to see there this one's a bit oblong but it's about 15 and a half 15 and a half inches which is good should get about nine pieces of firewood out of that sorry six pieces so that's probably a good amount of firewood so anyway hope you enjoyed the video it is getting dark so i will end it here so something a little different other than the dogs so i know that there's some people that subscribe
