Knight Rider Bloopers & Gags Commentary! What Deleted Scenes Made the Cut?

foreign so let's just give this a try here all right so we've got this title card here obviously this was um four custom-made killer from the third season but just looking at the clips from this first blooper reel uh December 1984 so I'm gonna say that this is probably when this specific blooper reel was from not any point later and judging by the date I'm going to say that it was probably part of the 1984 Christmas party that the cast and crew had this was probably shown on the cast and crew party all right so we've got the original Universal Studios logo here all right so yes um obviously William Daniels came in and did some voice over work for this all right so this right here is a scene from Silent Night from the second season whenever Michael runs into Tino's Shack and then the bad guys come and you know knock it down that's a blooper from that what else do we have here all right from last night the beginning of season three Michael pretending to relieve himself at the nursery this was out in Chatsworth California and this scene from nightmares the end of nightmares and yeah this was a fake um if you look at this is Sepulveda Dam if you look at an aerial view there is no tank here or anything like that this was all set dressing to um specifically for this scene ah yes William Daniels is Captain nice a very short-lived series from 1967 I think it only ran for 15 episodes all right get the cat here I like how someone off screen sells car because this is the scene where kit you know driverless turbo boosts into the scene and that didn't quite go as planned what episode is this from oh this is going to test my knowledge isn't it I feel like this is from maybe Knights of the Fast Lane I'd have to go back and look and see what shorty was wearing there but it was early third season I think I like how this kit just kind of so that's the right hand blind drive car this is from the third season that's the right hand blind drive car and clearly Jack Gill or whoever was in the passenger side and not doing what David wanted to do with the car and what else do we have here this is from Knight and disgrace there's something interesting about that scene let me back up just a little bit so when you see kit driving away here this is actually the hero car not one of the blind drive cars so you've got basically someone hunched down there and had the car maybe in neutral gave it a little bit of gas that's kind of Daring to do with the hero car but I guess they were out in the middle of the field somewhere so it didn't really matter [Music] I'm not sure what episode that is from I'd have to go back and see by the way all the versions of the blooper world we have versions where they're swearing but we try and keep our Channel family friendly so all the swearing gets beeped out sorry this was interesting they always had these slate markers and they had two versions of them they had one that actually had the info board underneath with all of the the uh you know the production number the director the take all that stuff and then they had this little one that they would keep pretty much in the car I think that's from Knight of the chameleon based on his shirt and this is from oh that was from the 19th Hole this from Goliath obviously Ring of Fire the knight in shining armor all season two Junkyard Dog and more of last night clearly this was not meant to be seen in public I don't think this has probably meant they probably never thought that this would be seen outside of like the Christmas party you know 40 years ago all right you got this scene kid versus car last night circus Nights night of the drones circus nights that's Jack Gill obviously pretending to be Michael I thought this was neat how they're all dressed alike a knight in shining armor also there's a lot from a knight in shining armor here okay Davin hello more last night time is on a girl's best friend and I think some of these like this part it almost looks like some of this is maybe the scenes that they actually put in the episode but then the episode cuts and then you see kind of the silliness that it occurs afterwards maybe not maybe not in that case this is on Griffith Park in a knight in shining armor that's was there Catherine Mary Stewart return to Cadiz I like this one Brothers Keeper where the trunk doesn't latch all right this is one of the few times where you actually see the landing of a turbo boost this is from season three's lost night this is the roll cage acrylic window jump car and just look look at the damage it does here let me back up just a little bit so we can really kind of take a look at this all right so he's coming in let's pause and we'll do frame by frame here so the car hits on the passenger side right there crunches it in and the impact look at the rear spoiler in the trunk just pops the trunk up this trunk was not glass it was a um it wasn't even really an acrylic it was almost like a thick plastic because they could actually fold this over onto the roof of the car but you see see how it's the plastic's all folded there and you come around like this see it's not broken it's just bent you see the scanner bar here the whole Bumper's gone I mean it's it's quite a scene obviously Goliath returns Junkyard Dog so these are real animals they were just um tranquilized which I'm not sure if you'd get away with on shows today but back then I guess they were allowed to diamonds on a girl's best friend forgetting his line also diamonds on a girl's best friend heaven also diamonds on a girl's best friend that's Renee ASA who appeared again in season three and Night by a nose circus nice poor ape destroying the car so here I mean that's from Silent Night a nice indecent little town nightmares those are all those were all um actual clips for the show not outtakes and then you've got this interesting thing so this is clearly one of the miniatures and there's a miniature alligator here so this was never used in an episode obviously the closest thing I can think of would be um night in disgrace when they had the alligator but there weren't toy ones like that and then that's pretty neat they use the remote control sessoms miniature kit to scare the cow nightmares there's Jack Gill poking his head out so this is Andy Gill right here and Al Jones two of the Knight Rider uh stuntmen obviously Jack Gill's brother and Al Jones we've talked about in our episode commentaries a number of times he drove the semi large of Goliath a lot you see him in the ice band that's driving the car carrier all right so turbo boost there's the landing of the jump from Silent Night again roll cage acrylic window jump car really takes a beating on the front end that's all stock footage not stock footage footage you actually see in the show none of that's none of this is unfortunately this is none of this is outtakes that one kind of is I don't know if we see that this is from a nice and decent little town in the ski mode but I think there's they cut to different angles in the actual episode so that's a little bit different right there this is the jump from Night of the chameleon and if you look carefully I don't know if you can see it with the quality of this but one of the hubcaps yeah right here see the hubcap flying off you can see that in the episode but it's a little harder to see all right so that's nightmares final verdict hearts of stone the pilot those are all just footage they pulled out of their slamming Sammy not a drop to drink trust doesn't rust plush ride blush ride pilot all footage from the episode Forget Me Not Halloween night this is cool so this is from Nobody Does it Better but look at the flex this is the fliver car watch the front end look how it just wobbles the whole front end just kind of wobbles because it's all you know it's a dune buggy but it's all just Rubber and then this is awesome this is from Soul Survivor and when it comes down roll cage acrylic window jump car again look at that bumper hits hits and then the whole bumper just breaks off goes sideways all right nice and decent little town Cherry to gold Give me liberty give me death and then that last jump was from it was a miniature jump from a nice uh knight in shining armor all right so then we come to this Little Company of Mary Hospital um which I'm not sure what this scene's from they're playing the music from Saint elsewhere but I don't think this is from Saint elsewhere this isn't the hospital they used so this is probably some stock footage from some other show and you guys know what show this is from that'd be really cool to find out this is obviously footage from Saint elsewhere nightmares more nightmares with some sound effects added same here Sydney Harris directed a number of Knight Rider episodes that was a neat little reference to him Halloween night see how all these episodes take place prior to the midpoint of season three all right so you heard this line where Devin says Michael might not always take the conventional approach this is a blooper but it's also a cut scene from White Line Warriors it's in the script but it never made it to the final episode [Music] this is from circus nights now circus nights was filmed earlier in season one it was held over until the the season finale that's why that's in here merchants of death someone sent Jesus to him Goliath so that's Edward mulhair pick pick um you know pushing his head out from the door but what is I don't know what this might be from merchants of death also all right now we have Bonnie from Night of the drones night disgrace Halloween night so this is interesting you see how Hasselhoff kicks his leg he there he kicks his leg through the door I um went back and looked at the episode because obviously this was an earlier take so I went back and looked at the episode to see if you could see that this was repaired and it was repaired but they did a good job hiding it you can't really tell only joking I wish there was more footage of that famous scene the mobile Roach Coach that we're currently restoring [Music] this is interesting they're like really shaking I must wonder if there was an earthquake going on and they were still filming and then they just did this funny thing or if they were just messing around I think I was from Night of the chameleon nice all right Salvatore no overtime Santa crutch or whatever he says this is actually Gino Grimaldi one of the producers of the show so Jimmy don't call me James oh Fitzpatrick this is actually executive producer Robert Foster and his nickname was don't call me Bob so it was Robert don't call me Bob Foster and they were making fun of that with Jimmy don't call me Jim or whatever they just said I don't know who this guy is he does his face doesn't look familiar and you guys know who that is I don't know who that is circus nights obviously so that's uh a scene from mouth of the snake David Dalton there doing his flips actually it's Jack Gill I think this is from dead of night the scene where um Sunny Martin is driving away with the van obviously that's not him but yeah they're getting all the camera set up this is them prepping to do the jump through the the uh glass plate in Halloween night this is not a scene I don't recognize any of these guys they might have been on the Knight Rider crew maybe not this was a morgue set probably a standing set at Universal be my guess uh Night by Nose getting the fire going this is let me see if I can capture this because it turns dark really quick there this is Harold Hal Frizzle we've talked about him a number of times during the episode commentaries he was part of the Knight Rider crew and he made cameos in so many episodes he was security guards he mainly played security guards but he was background people background person in a lot of episodes but here he is sitting in cat pretending to be Michael and there's more of the so this is looks like they're setting up a miniature show I wonder if this is footage from Sesame and slagle's ranch I don't know all right that's from get the cat obviously there's Jack peeking his head out this is um that was from Night by nose also a lot of this morgue in there this is this is unit production manager Ron Martinez pretending to be uh in the world of E.T and Natalie Carroll the firebird girl that was in Nobody Does it Better I mean the topaz connection I had to think about that more footage from Saint elsewhere with William Daniels and Ed Begley Jr obviously an outtake there more than I buy those and there's the Slate marker circus nights and that's the end of part one all right so let's move on to the other gag reel um this one's actually just called gag reel and the date of it December 1985 leads us to believe that this is the 1985 Christmas party blooper rail so we have 1984 and 1985 obviously there wasn't a 1986. but we don't know if there was an 82 or an 83 that probably wasn't an 82 blooper rail because the show had only shot you know a few episodes but maybe who knows maybe all right so let's get into this episode here or this uh gag real see we can come up with all right so now we're at night of the Juggernaut season four premiere so I had to replace some of the music because of copyright this is obviously not the Knight Rider theme that's all footage from the show and then this is Hills of Fire I like that it's from where I saw that in the first one some of these some of this is going to be repeated from the first one but I think that's from night Behind Bars that's from hills of Fire [Music] but this is kind of sinister music I've chosen for this oh well that's neat that was the wrong crowd many happy returns and once again the same footage we saw in the last blooper rail from Saint elsewhere that was really neat how um these are obviously the insert shots with the transforming super pursuit Mode Car which if you remember us discussing was this car was originally the um the engineless kit that was dumped in the acid pit in um Junkyard Dog well here they were filming one of the inserts and they had an issue with the This One Wing expanding but just look at the paint job here and how you know not great it is all right night song this might be the best part of the whole episode well except for what's coming up night strike featuring Judy Lander's return after her role and forget-me-not this is from um deadly nightshade you see you dropped the Slate marker there that's the wheel this is from Night of the Juggernaut this shows you just how pieced together a lot of these cars were I mean this was the let's see what car was this um this is probably the insert car but still oh no you know what this is not the insert car I forgot in this scene this is actually the full-time super pursuit Mode Car which was really pieced together even more so than the other cars which has happened no the juggernaut night in retreat so he said we got to get Jeremy in here that's Jeremy Swann the makeup guy [Music] I know him his name's Keith Light song many happy returns maybe six weeks stay as long as you like that was good that was a good cover-up there by Edward the 19th hole so that's interesting that that conversation was happening while Hasselhoff was in the car and Devin was over in the office area so I'm not sure why basis for your thesis this is again the 19th hole I don't know what kind of dog it is his name is rodrig thing fixed today he's working on revisions we have a number of um scripts and they're all original scripts and they're all just full of different colored pages from all the different revisions so clearly this was a joke back in the day just about how often the scripts are were changed use the TDS to project the heat Source into its launcher pal so that scene used the TDS to project a heat Source into its launcher this was another one of those it's a blooper but it's also a deleted scene I think this is a deleted scene from Sky night whenever um Michael's navigating the Minefield towards the end of the episode Night song only sees voices with them so clearly that line which made it into the episode you know he only sees voices and then it cuts but clearly that line didn't sit well with Hasselhoff all right night strike this is kind of cool that you see he actually fell off the car jeez nighttime bars killer cat or many happy returns Michael I have a headache headache the wrong crowd that's neat because you see him crash through that but then you see all the hands behind there to catch him Night song this is neat they must have planned that ahead of time I think that's Matt McComb I'd have to look so that was the script supervisor reading Devin's line there those fire so here you get a good look at how this worked um this is the set on stage one this is that common set that appeared in a ton of episodes starting in season three um the staircase set is what I call it but you can see the wires right here that are moving the the Sid unit there's Gino again that's him producer Juggernaut crashes or at least they make it sound like it crashes obviously that was some added sound effects there I don't think it really crashed hey the juggernaut so this is an interesting scene this is a set this is an actual house but look at how soft say we looked up because there was there was something making noise in the rafters like a bird and I think obviously they added in the extra sound effects there I hate hot dogs that's why that might be one of my favorite bloopers many happy returns foreign all right here's the here is the clip that everyone remembers from the blooper rail I mean if you think about it someone actually had to like go to the insert crew get them to make an insert button for auto suck that's you know they put some effort into this it wasn't just him messing around in between takes like they they thought that through all right so this is the same we're going to skill skip through this a little bit because this is the same jump sequence we saw in the last blooper reel so there's nothing really to discuss there and then this is just weird this is just super pursuit mode activating and deactivating multiple times there but some of that here let me go back a little bit these scenes right here where you see the EBS flaps closing this is uh footage that was never in any of the episodes this was probably some of their test footage that they filmed whenever they finish the car just to show what it could do foreign none of this is this was all used in either stock footage or pulled from specific episodes but none of that's anything we haven't seen before and that's it so um hopefully that provided a
