kid and play started working with other producers like pete rock because you love your horns um and you dropped next question which this is vanilla ice and luke yeah why did you feel you needed to go and direct you've brought both their names we called him uncle luke when we were kids well out here i don't feel comfortable especially when he came to new york from miami when that when the base thing was first in because it wasn't in new york for a second i just seem up in the new music seminar back in the day all that [ __ ] but red and f funk master flex brought him in as uncle luke yeah well a quick cliff notes on that um at the time um but at the time vanilla ice had done some song on his first album i noticed i forgot i forgot it was called and he was like some some what do you say and i can dance better than any kid or play i'm like you know i wrote that in there whatever whatever whatever i wrote and then the other part was luke um luke dissed us um i think we were on like some bet show uh salt and pepper were actually the focus of the show we were like in the back there's cackling and laughing and [ __ ] and i think uh uh saltine was talking about how they don't like all that that that bass [ __ ] they don't like all that um booty all this and that you know cause you know you know how they present they stuff they was you know they we just met we can't do that yet you know all that [ __ ] always up top with it right and so i think luke took it like what you call me yeah but i think luke took it like like we was on with them like disrespecting i was like nah i mean you know but that's how he took it so he had a series of records he would do on his thing called uh i ain't [ __ ] and he would basically just the beat would play and he would just talk he would just talk about people so one of the records i was like i ain't bullshitting part one or two or whatever it was and he's y'all talking about us like these [ __ ] i can't play man [ __ ] ass all this and that so i wrote about him in um you know uh next question you know concerts canceled positions passed out homeboy was ass out right you know to be playing you got to be mean whatever whatever whatever i did you know i said i said uh head scarf looking like a dunce cap you know all kind of [ __ ] so then the next going in i was going in right you know you know what i said but the next record that luke come out with is [ __ ] ass kid and whole ass play [Laughter] i called my manager i said man we got the squash [ __ ] ass kid and hold on hold on play [Laughter] we don't even curse [Laughter] draw something make the [ __ ] a jacket something wait so did they have girls dancing after he he he he spoke these dishes they didn't have videos but they had performed it on my ex my ex-wife used to dj for luke um before she was my wife everybody but she showed me some tapes of them hanging out cause she used to video tape oh they're showing [ __ ] oh this [ __ ] was crazy this is what ended up happening like you know to this day now you know it's okay so many millions of years ago you know what i'm saying and like i said i tour with vanilla eyes all the time man you know we're all super cool man you guys let me do those records back to back he does the line and then you come out oh god come up from the floor oh no i mean you know like to this day you know with ice usually uh headlines a lot of these out of the 90s joints and and if we're all still hanging out you know he'll call he'll call someone on stage we're all freestyling all that [ __ ] is just in the past and with luke luke was come to find out we had so many um mutual friends you know what i mean people that i knew people that he knew and they was just like man this is some stump [ __ ] man yeah yeah one time i ran into them in one of them clubs in atlanta like playboy palace or whatever like that so i'm over here my people he'll cross the thing man i sent him a bottle of champagne and then he sent me a bottle back and now everything was over after that you know what i'm saying what a class act you better [ __ ] go to live you better kill him he did that he did that but yeah i was just like i was just like man like i said man you know [ __ ] ass candy oh ass ass play [Music] what
