We have record warmth yesterday Vancouver and Mcminnville hit 68, Portland hit 67 and you know what we're probably gonna do it again or close to it, but in the meantime, what a glorious sunrise. Not too far away, about 30 minutes or so away from sunrise that is a live look from Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood. Our camera pointed South towards Mount Jefferson. Right smack dab in the middle of your screen. The three sisters off to the left. What a beautiful early morning shot there from high up in Oregon Cascades alright the forecast today I've got us up at 65. You know it's possible. We do a little bit better than that, but the record for today 63. You feel pretty good. That will break that. That was set back in twenty fifteen, by the way, Sunday looks like an equally nice day with a one little addition to some cloud cover in the afternoon, so that'll probably keep temperatures down just a little bit tomorrow, but still a weekend in the Sixties in February in Portland is hard to beat, right? OK, here's the setup, high pressure, large and in charge here of our weather, rain offshore that gets here on Monday. More on that in a second, but with the high sitting over the Intermountain West and a little bit of a thermal trough here at a. A warm air induced area of low pressure. Here the flow between the two. The Heights has kind of blowing through the gaps in the in the Cascades and especially through the gorge. We will feel that East wind throughout the day today. In fact it's already blowing. It has been blowing all night in Newport, feeling the breeze along the Central Oregon coast. Right now, boats bopping in the breeze just a little bit. Beach forecast today looks just spectacular. Lots of sunshine and these numbers that our model is spitting out may even be a little conservative. Remember, Tillamook was well into the upper 60s yesterday. Pacific City 62 Astoria probably gets to 60 and some places will feel that gusty East Breeze. There will be a gusty East breeze through the central and western end of the Columbia River Gorge, which temperatures getting up to near 60 E winds 20 to 40 with some higher gusts like Crown point, etc. Corbett will feel that gusty wind, but in any event lots of sunshine for you and seems. Story east of the Cascades as well. Central Oregon looks beautiful after the chilly start, Prineville gets into the 60s and bend may even get a little warmer than that today. High and dry, futurecast has a sunny all day long sunny for most of the day tomorrow. But as I Fast forward. Into tomorrow afternoon, clouds do increase and eventually those clouds bring us some rain. I'll Fast forward feature cast into Monday morning. The leading edge of our next weathermaker clips on through here, likely in time for the Monday morning drive. So the drive into work on Monday is probably going to be a little wet and we will be on and off wet through much of the day. Not only that, but there's going to be some snow in the Cascades. Finally, some fresh snow up there. It's been a little while and future cast. Shows the snowfall potential here Monday through Wednesday of next week. The Lions share. This will fall Monday and Monday night, but there will be subsequent snow chances on Tuesday and Wednesday as well. So 6 to 12 inches looks like a reasonable bet up at the Cascade Ski resorts. Maybe a little bit more down towards Central Oregon and what has been a very dry February here in the Willamette Valley at changes a little bit by Monday with another shot of rain and our cumulative rainfall potential here Monday, Tuesday Wednesday has us somewhere in the quarter to half inch range as we get. Into that part of our forecast so that kind of highlights what's coming our way for next week. The moral of the story here is. Enjoy this fabulous weekend and it is gonna be great right record warmth today 65. As we mentioned the record high for today is 63 so I think we better that not tomorrow. But the increasing clouds in the breeze easing slightly. I think we lose that that compressional heating coming off the Cascades. That's one of the things that the East wind does is help to warm us up a bit. And we'll we'll kind of lose that tomorrow, and we'll lose a little bit of the sunshine late in the day. But tomorrow still looks like a beautiful day. Monday, Valentine's Day we bring back rain and Tim said he's he's taking a sweetheart up to the mountain to go skiing. So there you go. It's just for you too. We've got snow up with them out and then everyone else heading back to the Cascades to do a little winter recreating the forecast looks much better for that on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Perfect timing. Thanks, Chris.
