what's going on everyone welcome to another key shock quick tip in this video i'll be giving you a quick look at keyshot's denoise feature and showing you how you can use it to reduce noise and remove fireflies from your keyshot scenes depending on the lighting intensity and materials you've applied to your keyshot scenes you can sometimes run into problems where your final renders appear far noisier than you'd like or you have unwanted fireflies that you can't seem to get rid of luckily there's an incredibly easy way to combat these issues straight from the image tab in the project panel just under the adjustments accordion you'll find the denoise accordion and denoise checkbox with that accordion open you'll notice that the denoise accordion is made up of two parameter sliders which initially appear grayed out at the top is the denoise blend parameter which allows you to determine the degree of denoising you'd like to apply to your scene below that is the firefly filter which controls the degree hotspots and hot highlights are toned down to use either of these effects you'll first need to select the checkbox at the top of the accordion to toggle the parameters on once toggled you should immediately notice that the real-time view becomes significantly more blurry due to the fact the denoise blend parameter is set to its maximum value of 1. ideally you should adjust this parameter to the lowest value that produces desirable results in order to reduce the amount of lost detail in your scene the larger the denoised blend value the more likely you are to lose fine surface details such as scratches or subtle matte surface elements however most surface details will come back provided the scene has enough time to res up or enough samples selected when rendered out the second parameter in the denoise accordion is the firefly filter this parameter can be adjusted with or without the denoise blend parameter being used however it does require the denoise checkbox to be toggled on essentially what the firefly filter does is remove the hottest spots and reflections of light in your scene this means that hot spots and fireflies are eliminated quickly and easily however much like the denoise blend slider too much causes details to appear flat and highlights to appear knocked back using the effect sparingly typically reduces any unwanted fireflies without compromising your scene's highlights both parameters under the denoise accordion can provide a quick method for reducing noisy scenes and typically allows you to achieve highly desirable results in less time but as i mentioned these effects are very powerful and using just a little can go a very long way thanks for watching this keyshot quick tip if you're interested in more useful key shot content hit that subscribe button and get notified as soon as new videos hit the channel don't forget to let us know your thoughts on this tutorial in the comment section below and if you found this video useful give it a like and share with your friends [Music] you
