[Music] hey this is Tony with salt strong and in this video I'm going to be doing a walkthrough of how I have my kayak set up for inshore fishing now for starters any of these products that I'm mentioning in this video keep in mind that I'm not sponsored or affiliated with any of these products including the kayak and the kayak that I have here is a 2019 Hobie Outback so I just want to go through and show how I have it set up so let's go ahead and get started from front to back here up in the front of the kayak I installed a bungee cord some kayaks already have a bungee up here but what I use this for is to put my paddle into when I'm standing up and fishing so I can slide the paddle into there and then I'll have the paddle up at my waist on my belt as you can see on my belt I have this sort of homemade paddle holster and I basically just set that on my waist and I can quickly go from paddling to grabbing the rod so that's what I have up front there that's all I've added to the front of the kayak and as we're moving down here the net that I use this is a yak attack leverage landing that just recently started using this really handy tool you can fold it up and it can just sit on the front of your kayak right there and then when you need it just grab it pops open and it's basically one arm use so you can keep your rod in one hand and then net your fish with this landing net then when you want to stow it away stow it away like so now the Hobie does use a pedal drive I keep the plug in while I'm fishing 99% of the time I am in like a foot and a half to a foot of water when I'm fishing so I'm standing up and paddling the pedals I only use to get to and from where I'm going to and I keep the pedals Bunji down in the rear tank well now in the middle of the kayak here I really only bring one box with me that has a few hard plastic baits and then all my hooks and terminal tackle this is a Plano waterproof stowaway small little box fits in the side right over here really nicely and I can strap it down with these bungees that are part of the kayak so that's also nice then in the middle here I just have some leader material also extra GoPro batteries pliers scissors tools and everything like that in here of course slam shady baits so that is really all I keep in the middle compartment also wallet phone keys keep some dry and in there and pretty much just keep whatever I need on hand in there that's why it that way it's not out in the kayak and possibly might run the risk of losing it stuff like that so keep everything in there quick easy access now as far as rod holders go I always have one up front and then I'll have either one or two in the back just to hold any extra rods and I'll typically have a minimum of two rods with me just because if one breaks down or one breaks if you're out on the water you're pretty much out of luck so always have two rods with you at minimum and then upfront always have one rod holder and the placement of this rod holder is gonna vary depending on your kayak you know you don't want this to be in your way while you're paddling but you want it close enough that you can quickly grab your rod when you need to so you sort of have to play around with that figure out where you want it kayaks with these slide tracks is really nice because you can basically slide that rod holder back and forth wherever you need it to go now as far as the paddle holder goes I have one up front and one in the back to securely hold that paddle most kayaks come with a bungee to secure your paddle but I prefer this method it's just quick and easy you don't have to unstrap that and you possibly you know make really really loud noise like that while you're fishing if you just pop the paddle up and out and you're good to go so that is what I use for the paddle holder and then up in the front here underneath the seat I keep my gold beats in these Plano water proof boxes I believe these are the 3400 series water proof boxes by Plano and I just keep them right under the seat quick easy access again I don't bring much tackle with me just because confident in a couple lures always bring them with me and that minimizes how much stuff I have to bring with me and more time fishing less time switching out lures so now we'll switch to the other side of the kayak another very important accessory here is an anchor trolley if you're fishing inshore anchor trolley allows you to quickly change your position when you're anchored up you can see that Anchor Point can go from the front of the kayak to the side or even to the rear if you need to and I use this with an anchor pin this is I believe a seven or eight-foot stick it anchor pin and I have it held onto the kayak using these RAM mount they're sort of like gear holders or paddle holders and what I do is while I'm transporting since I do transport in a truck bed I can leave all this stuff on just make sure it's secure so I'll use one of these night eyes gear ties to basically just wrap it around that post there and keep it secure so it doesn't go anywhere and I can keep it attached to the kayak while I'm transporting it and then once I get to the water I can take that gear tie off and the anchor pin sits right into these paddle holders and it won't go anywhere it keeps it nice and secure easy access again sitting in your chair you want to anchor up all you have to do is grab it put it into the bottom and you're good to go and I use about a 5 4 to 5 foot section of rope attached to the anchor trolley with carabiner stainless steel and then the rope attached to the anchor pin and some other accessories that'll have on hand are some fish grips as you can see here always have those accessible just have them in that little side pouch right there ready to go and I'll have a measuring device this is just a hog trough as call it and I'll just keep that right in the rear tank here again easy access the Bundys help keep it down so it doesn't go anywhere and always have some water with me especially on Florida where it can be 90 95 degrees out there on the water always want to stay hydrated now lastly let's talk about my camera setup this is how I get my pictures when I'm catching fish also if I want to record anything like that have a camera up front this is a GoPro Hero 5 black I use a hero 7 on my hat which is the one I'm using to record this when I'm fishing and this camera here this is what mainly gets all the fish pictures and upfront action and I have it attached to the kayak using the RAM mount just called the RAM mount track node and it's a pretty good camera mount it's pretty fairly new and I'm testing it out and it works really well you can adjust this right here and that allows it to swivel back and forth you can tighten it if you want to keep it in place as you can see there and then you can also adjust you know how high or low you want it just by doing that they're so pretty handy camera mount allows for different angles now you can turn it this way get a different angle you can turn it to the front get a forward shot if you need to and you can also loosen this to adjust that as well so pretty handy camera mount when you're out there fishing also it's nice because it stays out of the way you know if you have it over there it could be in the way while you're paddling or fishing if you want to keep it out of the way I just do that and also I'll tilt the camera down just to keep water off the lens when not in use then one I want to take a picture get some video I'll just pop it up like so so that is pretty much it as far as how I have the kayak set up again fairly simple rod holder in the front two in the back to hold extra rods landing net anchor pin whatever tackle you need again keep this to a minimum I try to limit whatever I need to this small box then any extra stuff that I need on hand I'll just throw in that Center compartment then again like bolt baits or containers underneath the seat again easy access anchor pin anchor trolley a pair of fish grips here that definitely helps with bigger fish and if you don't want to take any fish out of the water you can hold them by the lip unhook them while they're in the water landing that water for the day and you're pretty much good to go now if you have any questions about this please feel free to leave them down below till next time thanks for watching and I will see you on the next video [Music] [Applause] [Music]
