Kawasaki gpz 550 cafe racer build - part 2 - making the seat

so I've seen a lot of videos on YouTube there about making a seat for the cafe racer but all of them most of them were all about like you know foam shaping and stuff like that and not too many of them shows the actual upholstery so I decided to go and make one like uholster it, make the seat which I have right here the shape of it you know rough basic shape and then do the leather upholstery and I never done it before and it's gonna be the first time of doing so never saw anything before with the machine I got here it's not mine but I'm allowed to use it it's all in it's not too strong and you know and I got this piece that I've already tried you know I tried some sawing on this and when okay I guess so I decided to go you know gofer so I'm shaping the seat but I forgot to film the gluing of the foam but basically took like foam sheets and I glued them together created this kind of hump and then I took the razor blade and you know made a shape I liked and I want it and then with the grinder you know basically smooth that everything out and until I was done with it or try to make these shapes I want this kind of diamonds kind of diamond shapes and then I put the foam underneath the leather and then put some material which is not stretchable because if it's stretchable it doesn't make these kind of bubbles on the top and start sewing for me I think this was the hardest part of a posturing because you have to measure everything you have to think of a lot of stuff because well as this seat is gonna be like fully covered so you have to think about a lot of things and how they kind of go together but you know when you used to doing this thing it's not that hard but for me what's the first time so I was kind of learning at the person and I decided to add this kind of shape kind of stripe into the back of the seat because I had so much material in the back of the seat in this way I got rid of some material and edit this kind of strike so it doesn't make it it doesn't look like it's too big so I got the seat roughly covered with the leather it was I would a fight to put it on and I would say Im not too satisfied with the result but I guess for the first time it's not too bad I know I what should do differently I have to clean everything and cut the rest pieces we'll see how it goes but I think it's it's not too bad that I think I could have done a bit better job so it's not too straight like these two lines then it's not perfect but it's not too bad I guess so this is for now to clean everything up and we'll see how it fits
