what up YouTube so today is going to be part four of the Toyota Tacoma K24 Swap and uh this is an update I know it's been a long time it's actually been like eight months since uh we've been going through the process of trying to get this adapter going on this transmission um just been having a lot of problems with the person making it um kind of sucks because we found somebody who actually uh makes it and has done this before after we've paid actually pretty much to have the parts made um basically uh what happened is we got the adapter plate made and came in and we're gonna start getting it mounted and we're actually ready and uh ended up being the wrong transmission housing so I guess this is our housing 150 three I believe or something and the one that we got was for 150. I'll confirm that in a little bit I believe it's a yeah I I'm pretty sure they've made the housing for 150r transmission and this is I believe a 153 or 154. um either way um it was the wrong one and the guy that's making it I mean he's just been giving us a lot of excuses and uh we're just going through a lot of problems and stuff so uh pretty much just doing an update wanting to show you guys and if anyone does have the r150 transmission uh let me show you guys the adapter plate right now um but supposedly in one to two weeks or whatever the new uh adapter housing is uh going to be made um the plate for the adapter to the transmission to the housing has been made and it's confirmed it does actually work on here so we uh got that going so far um so right now I'm gonna go ahead and show you guys the adapter and everything and how it's going to work uh I'm gonna go to the garage and we'll come back real quick all right so we're back and I did just a temporary mock-up of how it's going to look and everything how it's actually going to go together so uh this is actually made for the r54 I just checked the messages right now so if anybody does have an r54 transmission and it's going case serious uh we do have this for sale and uh supposedly what the plan is to do is uh you have to run a K24 flywheel uh the k21 as you can see is a little bit smaller um as far as the surface so I guess the K24 is actually a bigger surface area so um I did confirm that it is true um so I am looking for a K24 flywheel right now as we speak um this is the new adapter plate that is for the r150 so this is what I actually tested out on the Tacoma and everything and uh works good as far as the mounting this one didn't clear as you can see this surface is a lot wider and this one isn't as much so the problem with this one is just wasn't fitting on there at all so this is what we've been waiting for the whole time is pretty much trying to get um this adapter plate to work on the transmission that's pretty much the own problem this actually does work on the actual k-series engine so it will Mount up on there it's just the problem we had was just this and him having to make pretty much this whole housing again so once we get this in we will be able to start uh mounting up the motor um but yeah so what we're going to be doing using is K24 flywheel with the clutch plate and then this is a Toyota I believe t22 I'll actually get the part number for you guys so you guys can know exactly what it is uh hopefully I didn't throw that part away but uh yeah that's this is the part that's going to go on to the transmission with the spline mounting up and then we're going to be using the K20 starter or k-series starter uh all K series starters are the same automatic and manual the only thing that's different is the actual uh I'll show you is uh like the K24 Styles they have this type of plug and then the RSX ones they have uh it doesn't have this housing it's kind of like just a straight bolt-on uh I wish I had a k21 to show you actually but anyways like I said they're all pretty much the same manual and automatic uh so um I want to assure you guys that that's pretty much how it's going to go together hopefully everything goes good um and then I think we do have to get a different throw out bearing as well so once it all comes together I'll show you guys all that I also wanted to show you guys the mounts we'll be using so I'm gonna go get those real quick and then I'll try to get the part number for the clutch if anybody does want to use this um as for the 154 transmission let me know we can ship it out uh right now I'm gonna go ahead and get the amounts we're going to be using and then we'll come back all right so as far as the clutch disc we're using it comes off the 22r engine and the part number is three one two five zero three five one zero zero eight four um I believe they're gonna give you another part number that's referenced to the same thing it's the same disk I guess it's just a newer version of it but that's the clutch disc we're going to be using from that engine and then these are the mounts pretty much we're gonna use the stock transmission mounts and then these will bolt onto the side these are track tough mounts uh I forget exactly how much they were I think they're like 350 400 dollars cheaper but they come with bolts and the mounts are pretty much bolt to the side I'm not sure which amount is for which side or whatever I have to take them out um but yeah these are the mounts we're pretty much going to use and then jfab is going to have the brackets redone as far as on the actual Toyota itself so that's pretty much the basics of actually getting it mounted in hopefully we can have that done very soon as far as like I said as the starter we'll be using k-series starter instead of the one off of the Tacoma uh uh the intake manifold still debating on what we're gonna actually use um I'm thinking going with the S2000 manifold with an adapter and then we'll have to probably shave it down get an adapter for here to run the top radiator hose since this will most likely have to get blocked off um depending on the the range between uh the firewall um I I have to really actually check to see because if you see on the k24s um this is the housing that's that we'll be using on K24 and I don't think that'll actually work so thinking about blocking that off and then running an adapter with an AN fitting right here which will allow this to be over here instead since I believe the firewall will be very very close but until we actually get it mounted in we won't actually know so hopefully that'll work out other than that we do plan on going boost it but we'll probably run a stock um TSX manifold for now just to get it actually running to make sure everything is good and then we'll go from there um probably going to be running a I was gonna go drive by throttle but I'm thinking the easiest way for now to just get this this truck running is to just drill a hole through the firewall run a maybe a Honda pedal and just go with a throttle cable instead uh probably run at 0506 harness or 0204 depending with the k- tuner or just get a Honda to run 0204 I like a 506 since it's a lot cheaper with a k- tuner it's only 450 dollars and you can run any automatic ECU that you can find they're usually like 50 to 80 dollars maybe cheaper at a junkyard depending on which route you go but uh between 550s which you'll be spending compared to 750 plus the ECU for 0204 which is usually around 200 300 so it comes out to around a thousand so it's almost half price uh as far as like the water housing and everything we're going to be just running just all stock stuff with the ep3 pulley and uh yeah that's pretty much where we'll be at once it's mounted in the swap will be getting going very soon so stay tuned for that guys sorry for the wait it's just we've been it's not me I would have had this thing done a long time ago I mean as you can see the eclipse is already pretty much finished and this has only been here for like maybe a month ago in a couple days so uh it's not me it's the person who's actually making this next time we probably will go with I think it's night grind or something I'm not sure I don't want to mess up their name but they actually do make this kit already for everything it would have been done already so other than that guys that's pretty much gonna be it for this video I just wanted to update you guys on the swap because I know a couple people been asking me and it has been a while so if you haven't like share subscribe comment let me know what you guys think and I'll see you guys on the next video
