this is eg Chris here warranty a little different video since I haven't really recorded too much trying to figure out a few things with the car good news is I got an exhaust on now I'm going to do some videos with that but this video I want to focus on what it takes to go OK and your eg your DC EK basically the same in all three platforms so I'm gonna let you know what kind of parts you need you know maybe break down on the cost and whatnot when doing the case swap or any swap or any build really the most important thing you want to do is have organization and a clear-cut goal for me my goal was I'm gonna do a case up I want to do K 24 and I want a 6 beat I knew all the parts that I was in need I just need you know figure out where I was gonna find them how much they were gonna be and how I was gonna pay for but you know there's some people who I'm gonna go K swap they cut them out you know they'll buy some parts and then they'll scrap it and then next thing you know someone gets a killer deal on you know what's about to be a case file but it's never gets formulated because you just figure out you know the engines this much the transmission is that much you know it gets expensive so you need to know exactly how you want to do it and if you know if the case really for you cuz you know one of the deterrence I think is the cost because it's just super super expensive do this swap but you know I think it's worth it just because you get such a modern engine the modern setup and you know a platform that's been proven over time but yeah for me I think that's what was most important you know besides actually paying for it because if you got the money you could do anything but if you have a plan you know you could figure out how you want to set your budget and you know where you're gonna save some money here where you're gonna save some money there but that's what's important to me so for me my setup was always going to be a k24 a tube I just had to find it so I looked on Craigslist I looked on let go there's offer up Facebook marketplace and eBay of course so I got lucky with this motor it was getting parted out on Facebook marketplace two thousand five or six TSX not knowing if the motor was any good story was the transmission was no good and motor was fine so that turned out to be good because now it does work good so I bought them I pulled the motor myself I got a good price on it I paid $400 just for the motor which is pretty low on the k24 end of things after I got the motor you know I had to sell all the peak parts that I got with the car I got a bunch of b-series parts and that really helped fund the next step so I was searching the same thing on transmission I needed to find where I'm gonna get it from and I just stumbled upon a junkyard that was listing it on eBay locally and I pulled the I got the 2002 type as transmission for 500 bucks on eBay which are both good prices for this stuff you really need to look you got a you know search everywhere and don't just jump on something because it's there cuz I was really close to getting an HMO k24 and that would have been like easy eight hundred nine hundred bucks or whatever they go for so you just want to do your research you want to look everywhere you don't want to just jump the gun another important piece of the puzzle is your motor mouse I know there's a few different companies that make mounts for the K swap I for one for hat sport I just got really great reviews from them know fitment issues for myself personally along with those online really beautiful product here I really like how they made the mounts but they're they are pricey but with the case whap you cannot cheap out on the mounts because people have clearance issues with the cage 24 head being too high you got to cut the hood or you know just to clearance to the ground this motor mount setup is dual height and it set up for either a K 20 or a K 24 which is perfect another important piece to the swap your radiator I was going on somewhat of a budget you know I can't say I could go against it or recommend it but it works and I don't really mind so I have a D Series B Series half-size radiator the upper hose I forget what it's from but I pretty much went to all parts store and found something that fit the bottom one is got the tsx factory thermostat housing and I used a van from Minah hose from a Chevy lumina it has a weird angle but it works basically you just got to cut one end of the bracket for the condenser and then I got these K tuned radiator mounts which work perfect no issues with that so I get this axed you know once in a while by some people on Instagram how my field setup is so basically it's a K tune rail and a feed in from the factory filter returned through the regulator to the factory return it's important if you replace the regulator in their case WAP because on a AG it's a return type fuel system meaning if we get a feed here through the rail and it needs to return back to the gas tank factory K it actually holds the pressure in RL and it continuously goes through the to the rail not returning to the to the tank so with a k24 a2 you have this style manifold and it makes good torque it makes good numbers but the RBC from a later si is usually your go-to manifold it's gonna make the most power but for my setup and for you know my budget I have the stock factory intake manifold with an accord drive by cable type auto body factory cable and instead of it on the throttle cable or throttle it's called drought or whatever it's on the right side which is for cruise control the left side is actually for throttle it's the only way for it to get fully closed and fully open but it works so on a case wap usually what's gonna happen is you're not gonna run air conditioning or maybe not even power steering so I have neither so on this setup I have the K tune EP 3 style pulley and it works just fine I'm guessing or I'm pretty sure this belt is too tight so I need to get a little bit longer belt I don't know how many other people have that say same issue but that's definitely something that's that's going on with mine because this pulleys making fricken noise and some of the other ones are making some noise and not really good so for my setup I'm using a 2002 2004 Acura RSX type s engine harness and it works good with this one because I have the matching transmission and for the K 2482 specifically I needed the change I think two sensors or one connector one sensor so one sensor was the crank position sensor which is gonna be down there I took it from a base RSX sensor and the same thing as the type s and the the base and the type this is the same and the knock sensor I did I just walked a connector out so that one works fine with the harness I just had to solder it in and everything everything seems to work just fine with that when doing the case you need a specific header you can't use an RS X or an EP three or any kind of header like that you need to get one specifically for the K swab so this one's a PLM replica of our crew or some crap it's good it does the job you know I'm not expecting to make a shitload of power but it works so when doing this case whup the first time around I used over I Lee RSX base axles and to be honest with you they were the worst money I ever spent because the first time I drove this car the axle popped right out of the half shaft you know I let so time go by and I ended up spending a decent amount of money on some insane shafts 500 horsepower rated axles they've held up great they're more than perfect for this car and the fitment is perfect I recommend anyone to get proper swap axles don't even you know BS with some autozone O'Reilly base axle from anywhere just go straight to the good stuff insane shafts is one company there's a few others out there that don't come you know nothing my head right now but definitely check it out so for shifters go I used the exact same car that had the transmission I took the shifter box and cables and I routed them straight through to the SRS computer there's a little hole there and a bracket cut through that and I routed the cables through and on this you're gonna have to use a que tuned plate to mount the shifter box into the eg so the next part of the swap I can't really show you but it's gonna be ECU and the conversion harness the ECU for me was the most important and most expensive thing I needed for this entire car basically the factory east use for this car have an immobilizer which is pretty much a lockout where your key and your ignition need to match that computer otherwise the motor will not start it's a security feature it's good if someone's trying to steal your car not so good if you're doing a case while so with key the K Pro on dhadak a pro you can check that off you can erase it and you can start it with whatever car you got so the K Pro v4 has bluetooth built into it it is super expensive but it is totally worth it you get full control over the car the motor and it's great for tuning the conversion harness fairly cheap it's pretty easy to do for good with wiring I used sparks Racing the based out of Hawaii or something just one of the companies that caught my eye it's just hard to go with that one and have it zero issues with it so probably the question you're now asking is well how much is a case up gonna cost me I did pretty good with the motor and transmission motor being 400 bucks transmission being 500 usually that that freaking total of both of them will end up being just a motor or just a transmission I think average you probably spend anywhere between maybe five and eight hundred for a cage 2482 about the same if not a little bit more for a k20a - and the case from the accords or ep-3 that's the lower end of case and the cheapest I would avoid those transmission I have a 6p from a type s there's the o5 206 type s and newer eyesight type asses are the new s eyes and those usually go for a lot more I would probably you'd be looking to spend anywhere between 500 and a thousand maybe even a little bit more just for the transmission PLM header cost thing goes to 25 on eBay that's pretty much to go and rank for that the motor mounts alone they cost about 500 bucks I think they're a 4 or something 470 for something like that going rate for these hat sports if you want you go for the second-hand pair and save yourself some money I wanted a brand new just to avoid any kind of issues cracks or tweaks or anything just so I know they work just fine radiator eBay D Series B Series radiator you can make your own brackets radiator cost like 60 bucks comes with a fan works great the hoses miscellaneous fluids and all that expect to spend anywhere between 100 150 200 dollars at least if you're gonna go with some quality you know fluids and different clamps and bolts you might need you know it gets it gets crazy once you get in there you just gotta take your time and use quality stuff the first time the fuel system I think I spent a little bit over 200 you could probably piece this whole thing together with the rail to be significantly less I just wanted the ease of something put together I got it from ebay and you know it's a k tune rail sard replica regulator you know that probably needs to get changed in the future it's not the greatest but it works but you know if you're really going serious you want to race it you know you're gonna take it to the track maybe upgrade this regulator with you know Aeromotive or a mm or something more name-brand wire harness I've seen these go from anywhere between a hundred bucks on the low end if you get lucky to as high as like 250 300 for crazy you know people want crazy money for him conversion harness for me ran 125 from sparks racing worked out great there's some that are I think around the same price there's some that are more money 125 bucks does the same exact thing as the other ones you can't beat it my intake setup cost me I think about like 80 bucks total maybe a little bit more I forget basically it's just a specter a junk filter you know nothing special a pipe that was a shape of a J that I cut and a 45 works really good i 80s are relatively low so I know it works pretty decent it's gathering air from where the factory washer fluid was so the insane shaft axles I think they ran me about 350 ish was the price depending on the company depending on the strength of axle you were wanting the price will go up or down I think those were a great deal for you know a good street setup I don't need a thousand horsepower axles and any kind of base axles just gonna crap out on you so this is a good amount of money spent on something that's gonna work oh I have no way of showing you because the ECU's tucked up in the car but here's the box for the K pro v4 I bought mine brand new I think it cost me around 700 bucks the going rate for these V fours used or brand new it's like between 600 and 700 more close to seven I've seen you know everywhere you get the v2 the v3 for a little bit cheaper too has less features I like that it has bluetooth I can hook it up to my iPhone I could use it as you know a data logger I could look at all my gauges I highly recommend the v4 some other options are like cake tuner how much those go for and then you could also use like a JDM ECU that doesn't have an immobilizer or you can get the immobilizer you know bypass thing from k tune or whoever sells it but i highly recommend the v4 so you could tune with it and you have total control of the whole engine i think it's an awesome product so all in all not making anything super specific the cost of this case was probably between thirty five hundred and four grand to be honest the costs probably be less or more you know depending on how you source your parts but i think the average is gonna be anywhere between thirty five forty five maybe five depending on type of parts or you're working with but for me I think I was between 35 and four grand with my setup and how everything is which is it's a pretty decent setup to be honest it's not a bunch of bullcrap it's not and then cheap out with too much stuff still plenty of things that can be done like the intake manifold throttle body do a full size radiator shift cable shift a box all kinds of different stuff can be done but for my setup with a k-6 speed all that between 35 and 4 grand this is gonna include the video I made of skip some things I might have overlooked some things it's kind of hard to get organized when you're talking about your own car and there's like so many things you remember doing but I think I covered all the big things if there's any questions if you can be off on Instagram eg Chris 92 or put it in the comments I'm more than happy to help you guys out make sure you comment like subscribe all those good things hit the like button later
