Justin Thomas' dramatic attempt to make FedExCup Playoffs

well there's still three holes to go including the top 18th but if you knock in one putt here this one pot probably would be enough to make the playoffs for eagle keep going hello Memphis [Applause] wow look at that let me not get too far ahead will you make an eagle and you move up one notch five four seventh what a clutch three that is an eagle three for Justin Thomas I thought maybe let's get to 16. a bit of a cigar here in Alpha Thomas oh I can't wait to see where this bogey drops him to he was on the bubble coming to this hole read my mind and if we can get that wow didn't drop despite the bogey not a difficult chip for Justin he's hit some great chips so far this week [Applause] and another one there tapping range for Thomas [Applause] the key number is that position in the FedEx Cup top 70. make it to TPC Southwind next week in Memphis and there he is 70th the Bubble Boy one hold to go the 72nd Hall oh he's trying to play a cut it's not going to make its way back may be a good break if it stays in the pine straw because you'll be able to get clean contact wow man [Applause] she got enough hook on it just couldn't keep it in the air long enough sensational setting up way right in our ear doing everything he possibly can [Applause] you can't be serious no way an incredible effort to keep his season going on to the front edge check this out right in the middle of the flagstick too [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] gosh I'd be so interested to know how much he knows with where he stands super par could have just as easily been a three doesn't mean it's over he's at 71 you see what else happens on this course that will affect again the distribution of points well that was clutch this is not over yet but let's talk about this unbelievable final stretch starting off with that eagle on 15. you said you're going to do everything you could to get it done and it feels like you did that yeah I I joked with bones when we were walking off that Tee it's nice to play the hole from the Fairway it was the first time I had the Fairway this week and I just smashed a three wood down there and the ball's going so far in the heat at 214 hole and I just basically had a full seven iron down off the left and to a really kind of tricky dicey little Putt and it just you know I felt like if I could get it on the fall line it was going to go in and these greens are so fast they almost just don't stop until they run into something and I felt like it that one was wasn't going to stop until it went in and it did so um yeah hopefully it was good enough 18 that second shot was incredible did it feel as good well it actually kind of kind of painful how you contorted your body but it felt really impressive to us and then that chip that we don't know how it did not drop yeah it's funny you say that I don't my I'm kind of sore I didn't know if it was for my second shot or falling on the ground but um yeah the mistake was off the tee I needed to make sure I missed that in the right rough to at least be able to From the Rough you can kind of get it up the green but kind of like we said yesterday you know it was like that's where I put myself and I had to deal with it and I felt like being on the pine straw was an advantage where I could I could turn it um and putting it there short of the green when I walked off 17 I looked at the scoreboard and I was projected 70th so I in my head I'm like if I get this up and down you know we're we hopefully are good uh but I knew if I made a birdie I would definitely be good and um so I just want to give it a chance and uh I feel like I gave it a pretty good chance but um yeah that uh I hope that it all works out because that's that's going to haunt me a little bit if not hearing now that things cannot change when the bubble Ben Griffin is going to grab the 70th and final spot for the playoffs congratulations to Ben and Justin Thomas will not be making an appearance next week in Memphis
