good morning everybody welcome back today we're gonna start off by a eyeing two cows on the east side of our barn here so Deema he's in a feeding wagon right now and he's just gonna feed them so what I'm gonna do is go along and lock these head lockers though when the cows come to eat they're gonna get locked up and then I know where these cows are and then we can go any item so no one's locked up yet even though the lockers are in lock mode they went in here that would get locked up but there's no food here so there's no motivation for them to stick their heads through right now and also they're gonna be slightly more hesitant because their beds are comfier now with that new bed buster though they're gonna be taking a little bit more time probably now to get up and head to the feed rail those two ladies right there they're messing around that one's trying to jump on the one in front and this is a clear sign that they're in heat right now the one in the back there is the one I need the one in front she is usually the one that's in heat the one that's on the ground getting jumped on and standing still but she's only about 25 days in milk I believe so it's too early to go any higher you can see those two cows are the ones that are up and about walking around this group and just moving around the most [Music] so cows jumping around and jumping on each other running around the barn a lot more clear signs that they're in heat this is what a cow does when she's naturally that he just walks around more this is why all the cows in the barn have these blue collars on right here there's a activity tracker and that sends it to our computer so with that thing we can tell when cows are in heat because there's a clear spike in their activity and it's a really handy herd management tool so all the way at the front here 865 she's already locked up now I just need 975 I'm gonna go walk down the end of the barn maybe she's locked up already maybe not but we'll wait till she's locked up and then we'll go AI those two cows so she wasn't locked up in the head lockers there so now I'm gonna walk through the group try and find 975 maybe she's laying down if I just get her up she'll probably walk to those head lockers and lock yourself up this is her right here we're gonna get her up fall 80 and hopefully she goes straight to those head lockers well she didn't go straight to her head Locker but she did get locked up right here so I'm just gonna grab two guns a seaman and a gun warmer and then we'll head back to the barn so this is the gun warmer got a AI two or more cows is pretty handy keeps your guns nice and warm and it's really important that the semen in these guns stays exactly 36 37 degrees Celsius otherwise it's gonna start dying off and your conception it's gonna go down but I'm gonna set this camera down in AI this first cow here so let's count number one done there head over here to find the second cow turn the heater pack off we're done using it now so those were some not so young anymore cows third and fourth lactation I believe but they're bred now so we can let all of the ladies go gots a few farm solutions out here again today to do some maintenance they come out here I guess once a year now to just check everything over replace everything that's where Pro and that's maybe gonna break if it doesn't get replaced soon enough so they're out here doing that today and we're gonna go see what they're up to so we're gonna Brandon and Curtis down here in the basement they're just replacing some parts and these pulsator here so what does a pulsator even do is okay so inside the milk claw it kind of squeezes the teeth like if you were hand milking her yeah yeah we've got some rebuild kids to do today so just got a bunch of these rebuild kits or all the wearable parts in the all-stater yeah swap them all out so we just pulls the entire thing apart takes all the old ones out so this is the bottom half of the pulsator just clips into the vacuum line right there and then these two what are these things called coils these two coils kind of sit in there and then this top cap closes on top of it and these two coils basically they magnetize these disks so they go up and down and that sort of shuts the vacuum off and lets it go on to those milk claws and that's how they pulsate so the basements directly below us here back up in the parlour these are the NPCs and those are basically what control those Paul satyrs this thing sends electricity down and tells it to open and close now in the melk Clause here if you would stick your finger in here during milking you would feel it go kind of like this and that's what milks the cow out so those little pulsator boxes down in the basement there they wear out and over time they'll start to not work so good and if you would never do maintenance maybe five years from now they'd start to break down and we definitely don't want that to happen during milking when we're in here milking cows we want to get done and we don't want to have to wait for two hours to get something fixed like that and that's why we're doing this maintenance it is time to start the second milking of the day here I'm just gonna open up all the gates to far group there and bring that first group up into the holding area here [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] I've got all the men your script out of the beds here and we're gonna hop into that skid steer right there grab the box scraper scrape all of the manure from these alleys into this slot here and then we're gonna grab that bed buster and soften up the beds saw this to the bed faster here I don't know if I showed it in the last video but it hooks up with these two hydraulic hoses to the auxiliary ports on the Bobcat here and that's how you run the arm with the rotor tiller on the end and the way you run this thing you just use the one hydraulic in the Bobcat you push it to the right and that slowly lowers the arm and then once the arm is all the way down you just continue to hold it and once it gets to the bottom it turns those rotor tillers on and that's how you run it these things are really hot after using it so I gotta quickly pop those off my girls the last line of cows is in the parlor right there they got to go back onto the special need straw pack let me got these two cows right here and then two more cows right over here these four cows all got sorted out by this sort gate right here and these two need to go to the west side and these two need to go to the east side they're just switching places [Music] many ladies I'm gonna go dump these second load of feeding fur in the milk cows now [Music] [Music] my dad's out spring this evening the wind finally died down it has been super windy out here in Saskatchewan lately we're honestly just sick of it and we're trying to spray when we can because it's pretty tough right now you can't spray when it's super windy so it's about eight o'clock at night here and the wind died down so he's out there we're gonna go check it out he's doing speed and crap here I'm just spraying for weeds I believe ya gonna get thrown up in the air and check it out [Music] [Music] [Music] so that was it out in the field there that's gonna be a for today's video if you enjoyed be sure to hit those like and subscribe buttons down below check out
