When I first saw it in theaters, I thought the whole movie would be on the island with this kind of environment and I got really excited! Then it blew up and I was disappointed for the remaining hour and a half.

I'm clearly in the minority here but I had a lot of problems with this opening still. One of which was the trope-y, hammy bit with the tablet guy. They did the whole: people are obviously trying to frantically get someone's attention and they respond with "lol What? I cAn'T hEaR yOu! * Points towards ears *". Then they did the zoom in to a super hammy scream before he takes off running. I thought the scene would have been a lot better if they had at the very least played it more serious. I had other issues with the opening too but that's a big one.

Once it left Nublar is when my interest dwindled. Still solid but at the bottom of my Jurassic tier list

The next movie could just be them running from a t-rex on a rainy night in the jungle for an hour and a half and I’d be satisfied

Not really. Its just Style over susbstance. Looks cool, but makes no sense.

It had it's own logical issues but all and all - this WAS the best part of the movie. Too bad the rest was half-assed and downright idiotic
