[Music] thank you Steve well again good evening and welcome to Calvary Chapel We are continuing our study through God's word uh if it's your first time with us tonight welcome to you because uh it's a a big deal to come out on a midweek after a long work day uh but what a refreshing opportunity to be filled uh just with encouragement from God's word and kind of at that midweek Point sort of of of our week where we can get together and Worship the Lord and study his word and what Pastor Steve was sharing about house groups I would highly recommend uh you getting involved with those those have been probably I would say one of the greatest highlights of our church uh since its conception where as a church grows we're able to maintain the relational aspects of church where people in their Church actually know each other and then you get a a chance to uh to meet uh to meet me and the other uh pastors that are leading but more importantly I feel like I get to meet you guys and get to spend an hour and a half in a living room setting with you and that's something that's very uh special to me and it has been very special to me because I like knowing the people in in our church and so uh you can choose to register or you can also choose to uh select the Box where it says you're interested in hosting a house group and then based upon the uh demographics and geography of where people sign up from uh we'll be able to lay out x amount of house groups so in the past we've had about five or six different locations uh but we'll see what the Lord wants to do this summer as we segue out of the bit campus and then into house groups and uh it's more than likely going to be on Wednesday evenings and so it won't be on Thursday nights but Wednesday nights but more info to follow on that but just to kind of uh follow up to what Pastor Steve had announced because it's a very very special part of our church so without any further Ado if you would please open up to Jonah We are continuing our study this is part five in our series uh deep love and we are seeing the deep love of God for not only a sinful Nation uh in which uh Nineveh belonged uh but also a sinful Prophet who decided to run in the opposite direction of what God was calling him to do so that's Jonah and we're in chapter 3 we're going to be looking at Lord willing verses 1-10 uh we left off if it's your first time with us studying through the Book of Jonah that the Lord had prepared a great fish and then the Lord had uh instructed the fish to uh personally deliver uh you know way before Uber ever existed we saw Jonah getting a ride uh to a place where he didn't want to go and the Lord said yes I'm going to drop you off there personally and so he spoke to the fish the fish picked up Jonah out of the ocean and then delivered him personally uh to the shores where he would then travel to niniva and so today we pick up in uh Jonah chapter 3 now when we're looking at our lives as Christians uh there is such debilitating power of of sin if it's found in the life of the follower of Jesus because if you think about it without faith we're dead in our trespasses and in our sins but with we have faith in the Lord there is nothing more paralyzing to our spiritual life or our ministry or the journey that we're on than when we fall into sin uh sin is missing the mark of God's Perfection his standards uh and when we decide to exchange God's plan for our plan or for somebody else's plan we're in a place of Disobedience unto the Lord and in that place no matter what the cause of our Disobedience it will never end well ever uh sin leads to death and you might think it's a small decision it's not that big of a deal it will never end well for you uh if you decide to disobey the Lord if you look at our country like what our country is currently facing it's very serious where we have adults in our country that are hurting and they're in Disobedience to the Lord in their lifestyle and if that wasn't painful enough they're trying to condition the culture even beginning with their children uh that what they're doing is right and that they should find equity in every sphere of society yet with all the political and social unrest what is never discussed and even in churches it's probably not discussed enough what's never talked about is the Deep pain that our that our world is in the Deep pain for sinning against God brings such terrible psychological uh emotional and mental anguish and not to mention spiritual death and God has always dealt with love dealt with love with those that were in sin and as he somehow and it's hard for us to understand at times how God could love somebody so much that was so antagonistic against him or so hateful or so far gone we would think yet God is rich in love and mercy and he always has had a heart for man's restoration to see man who is dead in his sins Made Alive spiritually and we as the church should be the same way you know I think in our own sinful nature we can say even in the church times well I hope they just get what's coming to them you know I hope they fry you know I hope that the Lord just smites them or whatever it might be but our hearts should be as the Lord when it comes as the Lord's when it comes to those that are in sin and there are people today that feel like they're so far gone that they might as well just Embrace I knew to be you know truth in my life that you know I'm too far gone I might as well just Embrace this and head in that direction and I think we can understand how that person may feel I think that we can understand that that could be the rationale for many people if you look at Jonah Jonah may not have imagined that God would ever send send him again on a mission let alone welcome him back especially after he had disobeyed God so terribly you know there have been many different ways of describing the work of the devil and sin in a person's life but one particular way of communicating what happens at the spiritual level can be described using these three words and many of you have heard these but for those of you who have not it's worth repeating these three three words blind bind and grind where the devil blinds you to sin into the righteousness of God and through your Disobedience the devil binds you so first he blinds you to what is right and what's wrong and then once you give into sin he binds you and you become an uh you become enslaved to sin and then once you've been blinded and now you've been bound then Satan just seeks to grind you until you have completely destroyed your life but yet there is a God in heaven who loves you who sent his only son Jesus to die on the cross for you and if you found yourself in a position even this evening where you're contemplating whether or not you're too far gone I hope that this study through the Book of Jonah brings you hope for if Jonah ever doubted whether after a sin like his he would ever be restored to favor and service again he didn't have to wait long for an answer because we read in verse one of Jonah chapter 3 now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time saying the word of the Lord came a second time so let's look at God's work in Jonah now ironically Jonah would appear in Nineveh as a sign as a visible tangible proof of Divine Purpose in his life and work and I mentioned it was ironic for Jonah was sent to be a part of the work of God that God wanted to do in Nineveh but he actually found out that it was God wanting to do a work in his life as well he was like I'm going to be used by God and there's no way I'm going to Nineveh God has this plan for Nineveh but what Jonah didn't realize is that God had a plan for Jonah and that the Lord was going to work in his life through it all and often it is the case in our own lives that we're so very much aware of the sins in other people's lives not realizing that God has much much to do in our own life as well interestingly the ninevites sin was outward but Jonah's sin was Inward and that sinful condition of Jonah's heart was brought to the light when he was asked to do something that went against his own will see Jesus was sent to a sinful world as Jonah was going to be sent to a sinful City Jonah said my will be done Jesus said thy will be done the Bible tells us in Jeremiah 17:9 that the human heart is the most deceitful of all things and desperately wicked who really knows how bad it is who really knows the scriptures say and there are things in our own lives that we're not even aware are there until something comes across our path that entices us and then we realize that there was a desire there that we didn't even know that we had or something will challenge our will that we didn't realize was so strong I want to do what I want to do and that's a very powerful force yet we see this key word mercy if you would just jot down that word mercy you see God's mercy at work displayed in the life of Jonah even as the Lord dis this is so amazing to me because he shows Jonah everything personally that he wanted to do to the ninevites everything that he want wanted to do in the life in the lives of those ninevites he is actually working in Jonah's life so he displayed in the life of Jonah what he wanted to display in the life of the ninevites and so when we repent of our sin when we find ourselves in a place where maybe we've stumbled we've Fallen we have gone off the path we have disobeyed God if we repent guess what you're immediately reconciled to the Lord three action words God forgives God restores and God reinstates God forgives the sin he restores the backslider and reinstates this runaway man of God you know typically if maybe you've noticed this in your own life if we abuse the confidence that one may have in us you know like we didn't follow through x amount of times or you know we've said we would do certain things and we never got around to do it seldom does it seem that we would be forgiven or if you work for somebody and you just didn't do your job seldom would it seem that you would ever be employed by that employer again but God freely forgives he restores to favor after rebellion and he recommission unworthy servants how many of you can say hallelujah to that thank you Lord in Isaiah 44:22 from the New Living Translation it says I have swept away your sins like a cloud I have scattered your off offences like the morning midst oh return to me for I have paid the price to set you free what a great word from the Lord so we see God's mercy at work but we also see Justice see God's mercy was not without Justice J Jonah was dealt with severely in order to get him into that place of righteousness or even back into that place that he began Jonah was was punished and it wasn't because God hated him it was because he loved him for we know that God chastens Those whom he loves and so Jonah was chastened and he was corrected in Hebrews 12:6 it says for the Lord disciplines those he loves and he punishes each one he accepts as his child but forgiveness even though God will forgive you it doesn't give you a license to disobey neither the righteous nor the wicked can sin and get away with it and so God's work in Jonah was a sign of God's mercy his Justice and thirdly it was a sign of God's unchangeable purpose God was going to accomplish what he said he was going to accomplish see God's plans whether you realize this or even acknowledge this or not tonight and maybe this will apply to a specific area of your life that you need to hear from the Lord regarding God's plans are devised in wisdom and will be accomplished period God does not alter his plans in order to gratify the whims of man he's not going to say oh I'm sorry do you not like that plan let me change that for you oh I'm sorry you rather do something else like your way okay uh no we're not going to do that God doesn't change his plans when someone doesn't like them or want to go along with them see the purpose remained Nineveh must be warned and Jonah must go and so we see now the second calling that the word of the Lord chapter 3 Jonah it said the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time saying oh this familiar phrase from the Lord arise go to Nineveh that great City and preach to it the message that I tell you the First Command that Jonah received was violated by Jonah's Disobedience but God now renews it and Jonah knew he had to do it this was a Divine instruction this was from God divinely given we also see that this required urgent and immediate action there was no kind of like they would say in the UK K faffing like means to just waste time doing nothing you're never getting around to doing it arise and go these are terms of incitement not relaxation the duty was imperative it's not when you get around to it or if you fill up to it or after you're' done put your feet up no the more we quickly obey the better it is for our soul it is better to do it right away the first time without being reminded and that's just not a parenting tip for your kids like hey I want you to do what I said right away the first time without being reminded as spiritual kids with our heavenly father it's best when you do what God calls you to do right away the first time he asks without being reminded but there's one thing to note as well there was a suspension if you will on the revelation of the message that Jonah was to deliver the exact message was not revealed at this given point in time God just told Jonah arise and go and then he would receive the message how often is it the case that God calls us first to trust and first to obey before we get the next bit of information now I don't know about you but I'm like a firm believer and Lord can you show me the next 20 things in advance and then I'll check them off the list as I go and the Lord's just like how about let's check off box number one first uh which is do what I'm telling you to do and then we'll go to the next step step you know as somebody that likes working in phases like at Phase One and phase two and phase three no just do what I ask you to do and then I'll show you what the next thing is see God in his sovereignty will cultivate our dependency upon him he'll he'll cause us to actually have to exercise our faith through simple acts of obedience with might I add limited information I need you to do this I'm going to show you just part of it I need your faith to be in action and I'm going to reveal more to you as I see fit so thus God cultivated Jonah's dependence upon him and tried his faith so immediate departure for Nineveh not for tarus was like you're going to Nineveh immediately and any further Revelations would be delayed until the appro at time um if you're taking notes this is something that really stood out to me and I I put this in bold for me in my own life and I want this you know I just would like for you to at least just think about this and maybe even discuss this ponder it write it down come back and revisit it but it's this God will give enlarged views greater strength and more consolation if we practice what we already know what we already know and so often I found in my own life that I get caught up with the things that I do not know to the extent that I'm no longer doing what I do know and you will find yourself sooner or later at a place in your own walk with the Lord will something will hit you really really hard and you're not going to know why and you're going to try to wrap your head around it and you're going to try to figure it out and you're going to try to understand it but you simply cannot you will wonder why God allowed this or what God's ultimate plan may be or whatever it might be that you're you know processing through and the only thing you can do is fall back on what you do know that God is good God only has my best in mind God is in control of all things very specific in its Direct Ive the destination was still the same this trial is not over and the dangers remain un hidden Nineveh must be warned by Jonah you're are the man it is not somebody else's job Jonah was not to concern himself about his message and its results you know the thing is is often we don't want to do certain things because we're wondering like well what am I going to say I me what if they think that's offensive or you know nowadays everything's offensive especially if you're speaking the truth I'm offended by that well why just got to the point where I said well I'm offended that you're offended by that and so what we end up doing is worrying about what I'm going to say or how are they going to receive it instead of just doing what God's called us to do so the message would be given to Jonah when he was ready for it but Jonah must preach the word that message from God to him earnestly and Faithfully because if you think think about it Jonah's message was not going to be a pleasant one and if Jonah would try to explain away or soften the severity of the message to those that were ungodly he would be taking upon himself a double responsibility what do I mean by that well I'll explain you would be taking now the responsibility upon yourself for the Salvation of the souls entrusted to him you would now because you alter the message and because you've changed the word of God to fit the culture or your audience you would now be taking the responsibility upon yourself of those individual Souls we see this happen Sunday after Sunday at churches across our country where those that are meant to Shepherd the flock of God are actually saying come follow me right over the cliff and that is a big deal and God takes that very very seriously but also he'd be retaking now Jonah if you were to change the message you be obviously responsible for the the souls in that City but secondly he'd be taking responsibility for his own Disobedience and that would be a big deal because God had already chastised him once and had forgiven him and it would seem that his experience and what the Lord was working through even Jonah's Disobedience was Preparatory for his calling like this is something that you can't ignore in your own life that if you've gone down the wrong path and the Lord and his love has corrected you there is so much to glean from that and so much spiritual growth that can be harnessed at that point in time if you would so choose to submit your life to the Lord but before we can Proclaim Mercy to man we must receive it first ourselves that message is so much powerfully spoken when it has been powerfully received and severe trials and deep sorrow are often forerunners of great trust and high distinction in Psalm 51: 12-13 it says restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me by your generous Spirit then I will teach transgressors your ways and sinners shall be converted to you your testimony is powerful because you've experienced the work of God in your own life you're not perfect you haven't arrived you still make mistakes you still fall short but if the Lord is truly impacted your life there'll be a desire for repentance and change and Holiness and righteousness but also coupled with that you'll have your testimony of how God met you in your darkest hour right when you needed it and so here we see the work of God In Jonah God does not utterly reject the failure but rather gives another chance for redeeming past mistakes you know there have been things in my life where the Lord had called me to do something I'm like uhuh no way I'm not doing that and I regretted it so that when the next time came along I remember that feeling of regret and not doing what God had called me to do and I said uh-uh no way not a second time we're going for it full send but see God gives men successive opportunities for the accomplishment of their life's work can I just say that again God gives men successive which means time and time again successive opportunities for the accomplishment of their life's work some of us get around to it later than sooner but later is better than never and if the Lord is meeting you exactly where you're at and he has a call upon your life it's better better to get Kraken at that particular Point than to let time slip and God will because he's longsuffering and he's merciful and he's gracious he will head you in because he loves you and he will make it uncomfortable for you if you're in Disobedience but his calling is still there it's still there and so Jonah thank God resumes his work with a renewed obedience because we read in verse three so Jonah arose and he went to Nineveh let's give this man a round of applause no I'm just kidding but he arose and he went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord amen and now Nineveh was an exceedingly great City a thre day journey in extent it would take you three days to walk through it and Jonah began to enter the city on the first day's walk then he cried out and said yet 40 days and ninva shall be overthrown let's look at this Jonah's Obed obedience was prompt and apparently God's chastisement brought forth fruit and secured a dutiful obedience Jonah's obedience was complete he did what God asked him to do but can you picture Jonah here uh we touched on this last week and this is the followup to that if you missed last our last session you can uh revisit that on the podcast or on our uh YouTube channel but it says uh but where I said he of a let's just say it was a mammal 98.6 Dees with 100% humidity in saltwater and seaweed wrapped around his head no doubt his skin was bleached so you think like you go to a tanning salon to get taned you go to a big fish's stomach to get bleached out and he did uh skin bleach he was possibly bald or extremely missing hair because of the stomach acid acidity the acid in the digestive system I mean we're talking about a lot of things uh were being affected at that point uh you know he cried out you know I'm going to die I'm in hell literally uh and so now you get this guy gets vomited out probably reeks really bad he looks even worse and he comes walking into the city with this very um how would you say this uh uh he he comes walking into the city with a very finessed message to reach the the people that were there as he just cries out and says 40 days you guys are all dead and uh you know I did my I did my job he didn't carry with him any philosophy if you would note no scientific theories no inventions of his own he just spoke the word given to him by God which apparently was 40 days and the City of Nineveh will be overthrown this serves as a reminder for us as the church that it is not morality to be preached but the gospel to be preached see morality would talk about you cleaning your life up gospel is talking about you repent from your sin and be cleansed that the Lord washes you and cleanses you the same applies today the great works of God that have taken place in the past should not listen should not be regarded as isolated facts Beyond a lishment now see God did a great work in Jonah and now we see God's work in Nineveh this exceedingly great City and many large cities powerful cities are vortexes for swallowing up wealth and spitting out the crimes of mankind you just got to look at the news every day yet the word of the Lord pierced through the darkness of that City the first thing I would like you to to note from this message is this Nineveh was warned they were warned Jonah didn't waste any words he only repeated one terrible phrase again I'll say it 40 days and Nineveh will be overthrown this judgment was great overthrown what did that mean exactly well could it be overthrown by another nation and an invading army or maybe a conspiracy or a Revolt or a massacre you know what does this mean Could It Be by floods or fire or Brimstone from Heaven I mean there's 10 million ways to die or so see the Judgment was imminent the Judgment was morally necessary no one gets away with sin even the most powerful even though you might think that they do Nineveh was warned and guess what Nineveh changed what kind of message you know uh that was probably the worst gospel message I've ever heard in my entire life but it was short so we love it great and it says the people of God uh the people of Nineveh believe God they proclaimed a fast they put on sackcloth which was like a sign of mourning or grieving and they did so from the greatest verse 5 to the least of them they believed God see if men would believe in God social corruption would be checked selfishness would cease to rule hatred violence murder would be cured and if you choose to believe in God or to acknowledge his word it will always be accompanied by a recognition of your own personal sin Lord I'm so sorry for what I've done Lord I have sinned and you'll be grieved by the very thing that you used to think was acceptable you'll be grieved by the very thing that you try to accept as acceptable in your own lifestyle but there is no repentance without grieving over your own sin repentance is preceded by grieving over your sin and by humbling yourself before the Lord and it says then the word came to the king of Nineveh and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe covered himself with sackcloth and he sat in ashes this is the king of Nineveh he laid down his place of lordship and he humbled himself before the almighty God for man in his sin exalts himself and Rebels against God Rebels against any Authority other than his own but when I recognize that I have indeed sinned against God I am grieved and I must humble myself before the Lord and ask for forgiveness and see for this reason the world will seek to deny God's existence they'll seek to deny God's written word the Bible to deny the work of the Holy Spirit through the the life of the church because if I acknowledge that there is a God if I believe that there is a God then I also I'm now bringing accountability upon my life on my own head so I'd rather say there is no God than to take responsibility for my actions some think that evolution is just a scientific Theory but it's actually a spiritual attack from Satan and when the work of the Holy Spirit takes place there are two types of reactions two there are two types of responses to the gospel they're actually laid out for us in the book of Acts in Acts 2:37 it says when this one message was preached by Peter it says when they heard this they were cut to the heart and they said to Peter and the rest of the Apostles men and Brethren what shall we do there was another group who heard the gospel message and when they heard these things they were cut to the heart as well but they nashed at him with their teeth that was Stephen so the gospel was preached two times both audiences were cut to the heart one said what do we need to do to be saved and the other said let's kill this guy but with Nineveh it was what must we do to be saved and repentance was encouraged by the leaders verse 7 and Jonah 3 it says and he caused it to be proclaimed this is the king of Nineveh that the uh he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his Nobles saying let neither man nor Beast herd nor flock taste anything do not let them eat or drink but let man and Beast be covered with sackcloth and cry mightily to God yes everyone turn from his evil way and from the violence that his in his hands this is amazing what's going on here well repentance is marked by sincerity Faith as we've been studying in James will produce Works true repentance will show itself in the amendment of the way that you live your life you know they didn't think of mocking God by merely abstaining from food and changing their dress you know outward appearances convict of hypoc y if not followed by the change of heart and conduct their sins must be given up they were to cry out to God not their Idols which they formerly worshiped they were to turn to the one true and living God and look at what verse 9 says who can tell if God will turn and relent and turn away from his Fierce anger so that we may not perish two things from verse 9 that I would just like to point out before we close for in our study tonight is the origin firstly is the origin of nineveh's repentance see their repentance was prompted by faith they believed Jonah to be a messenger from God and they believed his message see generally speaking faith will work according to the nature of the thing believed if that which is believed be something Dreadful and alarming that faith Works through fear and if there's a possibility of escaping you just do whatever you can to do so but their faith worked through hope for the absence of Hope excluded the possibility of repentance if you didn't have a hope that God could save or that God could forgive there would be no point in repenting had the ninevites viewed their Doom as inevitable they would have been paralyzed infuriated or even worse more estranged from God and so there was something very genuine about this and it was birthed in Hope and you wonder how could hope come from a message of Doom because God is Not slack as some would count slackness but he's patient he's longsuffering uing he's willing that none should perish but that all should come to repentance and sometimes it's exactly what you need to hear is that hey what you're doing is wrong is going to land you in hell and there can be two types of responses to that what do I need to do to be saved or I'll get this guy out of here but if it's the former you'll find that your hope is in the Lord and the Lord will meet you exactly there and so secondly as I said there were two things regarding nineveh's repentance the origin was found in Hope and in faith the second nature of nineveh's uh the second point I want to draw out is the nature of their repentance through humility they humbled themselves and they abandoned their contempt of God their luxury cruelty violence unrighteous it was all given up their their repentance was through fasting in sackcloth and Ashes it wasn't just merely something ceremonial but a a spiritual and moral Reformation this wasn't just a little let's clean up the outside and make ourselves look look good before God no God sees past the facade but God also gives grace to the humble and it wasn't going to be anything that the ninevites could do for themselves to save themselves it would be the act of God's mercy and Grace that they would be saved know they just heard one short sentence of Doom see Jonah's preaching was very powerful but it didn't have Christ in it you might feel discouraged but remember for your own encouragement that God Delights to save you might have blown it and you're living with the guilt God's Delight is to restore and you may be pushing out your calling through Disobedience but God has not changed who he is and if at any moment you would say Lord I'm humbling myself before you I have sinned I have disobeyed would you please forgive me you would find that God would instantly forgive you welcoming you with open arms and now ask you are you ready to get back to work work are you ready to get back in the game restored reinstated recommissioned and it led to one of the greatest revivals ever recorded in history if not the most wicked one of the most wicked cities in all of the world at that particular point in time repented from their sin and it says in verse 10 of Jonah 3 that God saw their works that they turned from their evil way that is repentance and God relented from the disaster that he had said he would bring upon them and he did not do it for people that think that God is a hateful God especially in the Old Testament God smites this and conquers this and destroys that and you're looking at one of the greatest evidence of a God who is merciful and compassionate and rich in love and grace to a gentile nation of All Peoples not even just the Jews the Israelites not just his chosen people we're looking at outside of that God allows forgiveness to be given and what an amazing story of God who is willing to work in his own person's life Jonas that's his guy he knows me and he's disobeyed and I'm G to hedge him in and I'm gonna have him go through these things and he is going to be experiencing at a personal level everything he said he did not want the ninevites to experience and then once he experiences being in that place of as he said from the depths of shol I cried out to God I then remembered the Lord he is going to realize that it is God's character God's nature to seek and to save that which is lost and if Jonah would receive it and if Jonah would understand it then he can communicate the message that needs to be communicated and then understand that God's heart for the sinful ninevites Was the Same Same Heart that God had for Jonah himself and now all of a sudden things just got very real Lord forgive me Smite them doesn't work because God is not a respector of persons the plain field is level for everyone and when God saw that they repented from their sin he repent he relented from judging them and that's what we've been praying for our country that's what we've been praying for our friends and family Lord would you please allow repentance to be found because the Lord desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance let's pray father we thank you Lord we thank you that even in our times of Disobedience or Rebellion rebellion and rebelling against you Lord we learn so much about your love for us now Lord I know that there is no encouragement found in scripture for us to disobey you or to rebel against you but I thank you that even when we do make mistakes when we sin when we deliberately disobey that even that can be used in our lives for us Lord to grow closer to you but the key is found through repentance the Turning from sin and obeying what you've called us to do and so Lord I pray that tonight give us ears to hear what your spirit would say to your church I know Lord that we are here because you've ordained it to be so and that this would be taught on this very night and Lord I ask that if if there have been any that have been running from you Lord that tonight they would stop running and come back to you the wages of sin is death the path that leads away from you leads to destruction and with every eye closed and head bowed if that's you and you've been running from God and you don't want to anymore then very simply I'm just going to ask do you want to give your life back to the Lord today do you want to stop running in the opposite direction of where God's called you to be because God's forgiveness is available to you and you have the freedom to choose it or reject it but if you truly truly want to get back in the game and stop wasting your time living after the things of this Earth and of this world that never made you happy to begin with but only sucked you in deeper then just turn from it tonight and if that's you and you would like to be led in rededicating your life to Jesus then with every eye closed and head bow would you just raise your hand say yep that's me God bless you anybody else just raise your hand we've wasted enough of our past life living after the things of this world so anyone else just raise your hand and I'll lead you in that prayer right now and father I pray over these that have raised their hands even for those that are watching right now Lord some of them have been running from you for some time and they even knew in the back of their head the whole time lord what they're doing is wrong but I thank you that you are a God who loves and forgives you can restore and you can reinstate and so with every eye closed and head bowed if you raised your hand or even if you didn't raise your hand but you know you need to get right with God tonight then very simply I'm going to ask that you would just keep your eyes closed your head bowed and repeat this prayer after me and me it in your heart and say dear heavenly father I know that I've sinned but I ask that you would forgive me of my sin and fill me with your Holy Spirit I thank you that you love me I thank you that you sent Jesus to die on the cross for me and I thank you for forgiving me of all my sin would you fill me with your love and your joy and your peace and give me your strength that I may be who you've created me to be for I give you my life today in Jesus name amen and father we thank you Lord for what you have done here tonight thank you that you are a living God thank you that your word is living and Powerful it's sharper than any two-edged sword of pierces to the innermost recesses of our heart and our spirit who we are that only you know Lord and Lord we thank you that you are a merciful god though you are just you Delight in Mercy and so Lord I pray that tonight we would have a renewed sense of urgency to obey what you've called us to do a renewed sense of our commitment regardless if we feel it or don't feel it like it or don't like it want to do it or don't want to do it but that we would obey what you've called us to do and that we would rely on what we do know when there are things that we do not understand and so Lord bless your church tonight fill us aresh with your Holy Spirit and may Lord we finish this week strong until we can gather together again as the body of Christ and we ask these things in Jesus name and everybody says amen man
