looking at all of the things that you're posting folks from south of england from new hampshire from germany i heard that one of you said your husband is here for a week welcome we are praying that the lord bless him and gives him everything he needs to carry back to be on fire for god in germany when he returns and bethel uh tv family welcome welcome well i was just reading down below there christiana was saying that this is her one year anniversary of being with us at bethel online and i want to say just a happy anniversary to you we're so thankful for your faithfulness and your consistency on being with us every single week you know this our church you know there's this i don't know seven church services a week i'm unsure i lose track but you guys are very much part of this massive movement of people that that get to do what we do here and i just wanna say welcome this morning we're so happy to have you and it's gonna be an incredible morning i was at the eight o'clock and my goodness i i'm so pumped to hear pastor bill speak this morning well i heard uh that it was a great continuation from last week where uh steve backlund talked to us about declarations so i've been watching my words all week i'm like i i don't know how many times i've ever crossed things out of my the vocabulary of my mind uh after hearing steve speak last week that was phenomenal what was some of the takeaways for you well the biggest one for me was when he talked about an apple seed that when it's planted it immediately becomes an apple tree and whether or not it produces fruit if we were to have a funeral for a tree that never bore fruit it would still have been an apple tree we are made our identity is forged from our design and not from our experience i'm like blown away by that still can you just say that again right all of that all of thanks joel no no honestly the the the quote where he said we are our identity is made from our design and not our experience is what has been blowing me away all week and and really has been like the motivator to watch what i'm saying because my experience feels so overwhelming sometimes but the truth of the matter is god's design is really what's what's making my future and forging my destiny so yeah i i would love to hear what do you think what i'm saying is i'm privileged that i get to work with people like jamila she she retells the notes of last week and it sounds like an incredible sermon already it was it is so incredible i mean i mean i was tracking my words this week like you were saying and i'm just so thankful like the power in the words i think you made reference to proverbs 18 21 where it says death and life are in the power of your tongue and death the life of the power of your tongue i was thinking that it's actually in our our possession to these these life decrees these death decrees it's just pretty crazy the responsibility we have and actually the hope we have as believers to be able to declare a thing and and certainly that's what we did this morning too yeah so you know one of the things we did was uh and we're going to do again is we're praying peace for the ukraine peace as they go into uh a very critical time where hopefully there's some dialogues happening and and a way of resolving this through diplomacy um we just we just want to see that that conflict comes to an end and the people of ukraine be restored in into peace i always think of that scripture in james 5 17 who says you know the the prayer of a righteous man availeth much and just the simplicity of praying on behalf of something or someone i'm telling you our prayers shift atmospheres and moves things and and we're expecting that to happen this week i'm telling you god is on the move he's doing things in your bodies he's doing things in your family in your souls he's doing things in your home over your businesses over your leadership over all the things that you have right in front of you the power of the words of god that's been spoken i say pray according to prophecy i mean there's so much power in that that's really good yeah and we're going to have a great service today we're so glad that you're here again with us online um bill you mentioned is speaking and then we have zarya and brian and allison and antonio leading us in worship it's going to be a phenomenal service there's a point in this in the worship service there's a couple of moments there where they play the strings i'm going to tell i'm not giving too much away but i'm telling you i felt like i was in heaven i was like it was just amazing and you know what was funny is that that four or five songs that we sang this morning the eight o'clock many of them mentioned the word hallelujah you know ben armstrong who's one of the prophetic leaders he was just saying how how ironic that was that we were declaring hallelujah and when i say hallelujah it means like you don't need any sort of description except that god's providence and he's so in charge of what's happening right now yes so we declare a powerful service for you right there wherever you're watching from that you would be blessed with the word that goes forth and the presence of god that sits on every single word every note bless you as you listen lift your hands in worship you are in the room with us so the lord is in the room with you we are so announcement this is the day the lord has made i will rejoice and be glad in it that's how i take my kids to school almost every morning they love it just that rejoicing early in the morning and they don't even drink coffee so anyways but uh no such a good day to be in the house of the lord you know this last week we had a ministry trip down to hanford california took about 50 students and uh down to a mario murillo tent crusade it was awesome we saw hundreds and hundreds of people get born again so many miracles signs and wonders but uh one of our favorites was there was a student who was doing the stuff taking risk and he was terrified how many guys ever get freaked out to share your faith with people on the streets it's just out of your comfort zone this was him and every word of knowledge he got wrong and every time he stepped out he got rejected it was one of those days you know what i'm saying and the next day he was vulnerable about it and uh and we just celebrated him for taking risk and just said man you got what it takes you're a son it doesn't matter if you get it wrong or whatever just keep going and so he goes out there that day and got a word of knowledge that he was going to run into a miguel and then he prayed for a lady who had paralysis to the face and she got healed right in front of him paralysis left the word of knowledge for miguel he met two guys that day named miguel and led him both to the lord i mean that's just cool so good so good well listen i want to read to you just something from the word to just fix our eyes on the lord before we greet each other and and rejoice in the lord together psalms 103 verse 1 i love these words it says bless the lord oh my soul how many guys know you just got to speak to yourself sometimes put your hand on your heart and say bless the lord o my soul and and some that is within me bless his holy name no it says all that is within me all that is with every part of me bless his holy name bless the lord o my soul and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your iniquities who heals all your diseases who redeems your life from destruction who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies who satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles i could use some of that today the lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed amen what a presence right now i don't want us to leave this we have a we have the privilege of being born in such a strategic time that we get to shape history with our prayers and uh you probably know that our supreme court is in like historic making historic decisions that will see the culture of the kingdom or not into our nation and potentially be a breakthrough for all the nations of the earth and then we have our brothers and sisters in a great conflict in ukraine and in russia and we get to shape that with our prayers we get to shape history with our prayers right now and so i'd love for us to just grab hands [Music] we were praying in our government prayer meeting this week and we were praying specifically for the ukrainian russian conflict and i began to envision [Music] the devil like an arsonist who was just going from place to place starting fires the starting fires the coveted fires the conflict fires the social justice fire just fires all over the earth and i was as i was viewing that i just like began to probably like you okay lord what's the answer here and i just heard this word in my spirit heavy rain someone should write a book by that title heavy rain that the lord would just pour out a heavy rain and that he just began to reign the spirit of god like acts 2 he poured out his spirit and it just started to put out the fires all over the earth and so i'm i'm going to let you pray over this supreme court and over the russian situation [Music] just together if you as you grab hands and then about two or three minutes i'm going to lead you in prayer but i want you to pray violently i want you to pray as people who are shaping history and actually shaping the history of the earth right now with your prayers just begin to pray violent prayers thank you lord [Music] [Music] with me [Music] like channels of water [Music] you will be done [Music] you will be [Music] you will [Music] your kingdom lord we pray for a great outpouring over our nations and lord we pray for a great outpouring over russia and over the ukraine and we pray that that the fires of hell would be extinguished that there would be a great outpouring of your spirit and lord it would put out the fires of hell that you would extinguish the fires of hell with the fires of the spirit lord lord that there would be a downpour like we've never seen in history they would call this the second reformation what we released it over the supreme court that righteousness would begin to rule again come on lord we pray for righteousness to rule we break the power of immorality over our country and then we say no to immorality and we say yes to righteousness let me pray that you would invade the supreme court that the holy spirit would fall on every supreme court justice and they would begin to make righteous rules let me pray for the glory of the lord to build a supreme court and out of that glory they began to make decrees for the righteous lord that the righteousness that righteous would begin to rule that morality would beget to rule again thank you lord thank you lord [Music] you said the heart of the king [Music] is in the hands of the lord and like channels of water he moves it whatever way he wishes and lord we pray for the ukrainian president for the russian president lord that your you would just take their hearts in your hands and god you will shift the course of history lord we pray that you put out the fires of violence that you'd put out the fires of immorality and that justice would rise psalms 2 says that the kings of the earth rise against the lord but the lord lasted them and lord we pray that you would come with your presence that they would call this the second reformation that literally that you would rise in darkness isaiah 60 and that you would shine lord we pray for all the people that are in distress in the ukraine that you would cover them that the prince of peace would come in and take care of them and lord we pray that you would extinguish this fire quickly people are shouting world war they're shouting love we say no we we we surround this situation with the angels of the lord who blow out the fires of hell and lord we say we say holy spirit peaceful resolution we say holy spirit peaceful resolution resolution yeah isaiah 2 talks about a time when god would come in and he would judge between nations and here's the outcome and never again would they train for war and lord we pray for that right now that you would become the judge and that morality wouldn't be sacrificed on the altar of peace but lord that you would bring a holy spirit righteous peace and that justice would be served in jesus name and everybody said so be it such a good word would you just hug somebody let's give it up for the lord [Applause] and let's give it up for the worship teams too [Applause] so good so good can we just thank the lord again for his victory like i just felt like such an ugh the victory belongs to the lord amen well welcome we are a morning he said my kingdom is unshakable in fact hebrews 13 8 says that jesus christ is the same yesterday today and forever you can take that promise to the bank amen so we're going to actually stand together and we're going to make a powerful declaration about the stability of his kingdom how many here you were here last week for for c backland wow the power of declarations go ahead and stand church we're going to make a powerful declaration over our finances over our wealth i believe that we are in one of the greatest seasons of god releasing wealth to his people to bless the nations how many here the lord's been speaking to you about that me too me too i actually we had a we had a dance activation in our school the other day and i actually had someone dance over me breakthrough for wealth it felt powerful so it went really good chris is going to actually come up here and dance over me as well how many want to see that i think that would be powerful [Laughter] obedience under it is anointing it doesn't really matter what it looks like amen so let's recite this together and believe for god to break out in abundance in your family in your business in whatever hospital you work for whatever organization you work for that he would bless us so that we could actually make change amen so let's recite this together offering number one as we receive today's offering we are believing the lord for jobs and better jobs raises and bonuses benefits sales and commissions favorable settlements estates and inheritances interest and income rebates and returns checks in the mail gifts and surprises finding money that's paid off expenses decrease blessing and increase thank you lord for meeting all of my financial needs that i will have more than enough to give into the kingdom of god and promote the gospel of jesus christ hallelujah amen amen if you feel led to dance over your neighbor we're going to let you do that in just a second but first of all i actually felt like we were also supposed to pray over the financial blessing of europe and ukraine and russia that actually the lord protect the wealth of nations for our brothers and sisters not just our house but their house would be protected so go ahead and put your wallet your your digital wallet whatever you've got today out in front of the lord we just thank you that you are taking these resources and you are sending them to the nations and where we even pray over the the financial instability in the region of ukraine and russia and europe and we we command it to stabilize in jesus name and we ask for unprecedented blessing to fall upon and provision to fall upon our brothers and sisters we pray that the church would prosper in this season of instability that your people will be protected in their here's this week's church news well hey family we just recently had our annual prophetic conference it was incredible and we have a special word for you right here and i feel like this church is on the front end cutting edge of revelation of how to send out ecclesiastes into all spheres of society and i see when you get that facility it's why it needs to be accelerated that god is going to even bring more people here to equip them but they're going to be all kinds of schools the revival of jonathan edwards yale university was started many of the ivy league universities were started out of revivals the red cross was started out of revival there are things that are going to be birthed out of this revival center by being in the presence of god and ecclesias are going to go to corporations we're going to give you an opportunity carl come on up here this is carl he's the head of our global bethel global response so good and we um our team started developing a plan this weekend about going out and reaching out to the ukrainians that are refugees crossing the border into uh into romania and uh ben fitz is there with 30 uh with 49 people in poland and he's helping the the uh he's helping them as they cross the polish border and we felt that weeder to go there and to help uh as they cross the romanian border and just uh and so you carl why don't you tell them about it thanks chris yeah it's a great time to be alive and to be the church in these days um yeah we're super excited about what ben's doing in poland poland and romania are the two largest borders uh that that are shared with ukraine and the un is expecting over five million people to be crossing those primarily between those two borders in the coming days and so between ben covering the the northern flank and us in the south uh you can see god's strategy for his church in both of our hearts our hearts and ben's heart is to to support the local church what are the local missionaries doing um our local missionaries from this house the fam the lynch family uh they have made it out of ukraine they are long-term missionaries in ukraine they made it out last night um yes praise god so a 15-hour drive in normal days took them over 51 hours with all five kids in their car so they have a new appreciation for grace um 49 of those hours just because of the kids 49 because of the kids um but no just just hearing their journey and details of it and the way holy spirit was guiding them telling them what roads to take where where to go around uh 51 hours seems like a long time however that's a record time most people are waiting in the lines three to four days so that's a lot more than 51 hours so but they're doing well they're in romania and they're actually with our other bethel missionaries from romania the stafford family so our missionaries guys and the local churches are arising and shining the church is alive uh in eastern europe and um they're asking for our prayers the number one thing they say is we need prayers this morning i was forwarded a text from a pastor who's in ukraine still and he says get the local church praying prayers are working i'm waiting to see a video of it but he he says your prayers are work the church prayers are working because we hear and we see missiles overhead and we see them disappear and so guys i encourage you the prayers of the church change reality the prayers of the church make missiles disappear and you guys aren't just praying and engaging from afar you guys are on that front line and you get with your prayers you guys are making a difference in in countless people's lives and and changing the course of history with your prayers and so i just encourage you to press into this don't allow we're hearing about it a lot and and normally after a few days fatigue starts setting in you're just like oh i need to turn away from that that's too heavy i need to turn away from that i encourage you to turn towards it put your heart towards it and engage with jesus with it it's not our burden to carry our burden is light but jesus is jesus is active in this um and he wants you to partner with him and we ask that you partner with us as well obviously it takes a lot to be able to do this and and our goal as bethel global response and bethel is to come alongside the missionaries and the local church and prop their arms up they're already doing incredible work and we just want to come alongside them expand what they're able to do um extend what they're able to do and so we ask for you to partner with us in that so you carl yeah john john taylor and max and max by the way remember max and his family were in afghanistan well they're ukrainians and speak the language because they're ukrainians let's figure that out but we're going to send these generals into romania to help develop a strategy and increase the capacity they're already doing it but they want to increase the capacity so this morning we're asking that you would pray and also that you would give to this this this this whole uh strategic plan we're raising about a hundred thousand dollars to send our teams and bring them with resources because this is our how many you know they're going out as ambassadors of our whole movement and we need resources so that they can come in and help fund the you know the food and the clothing all everything that they need so would you pray right now and just ask the lord what you're supposed to do this we'll just take a minute for this and um and then right up there we'll we'll lead you in that just a minute but just take a minute just close your eyes and ask the holy spirit what you're supposed to do thank you lord if you get no number give a thousand if you and your wife get different numbers add them together because the lord wants to you to give individually thank you lord thank you lord great um what we're going to do is if you uh you can thank you you can sit down sit down carl sorry that was a very gracefully gruesome way to say that you can put your phone on on that qr code right there that'll take you right to the website where you can give if you'd like to give by check or cash you know if you've ever read about war horses they're literally trained for war and when they hear battle they run towards it and uh and they could there's actually stories of them standing next to a burning building and even though they're getting burned by the fires if they've been told to hold still they hold still and uh so all right bad conclusion to a good point oh well oh well uh thanks so much for uh all your prayers for benny um she has had some couple several good nights of sleep which is great progress real real thankful we have uh the important uh uh doctor's appointment this week so we will have more information for you but just thank you i understand there's like 10 000 over 10 000 people just signed up for the weekly slots and they couldn't all fit so so there are more praying but that's a whole bunch that's like that's that's impressive uh a pastor had dinner the hormonal couple in his church after he left the wife said to the husband i think he stole our spoon this bothered her for a whole year a year later the couple had the pastor over for dinner again unable to resist the wife asked did you steal our spoon last year the pastor replied no i put it inside your bible that's like my favorite all-time story right there that that's an anointed joke that's it that carries the anointing right there my grandpa told me he got to see the titanic and from the beginning he told him not to get on board because he knew it was going to sink but no one listened he repeatedly told him until the minute he got kicked out of the movie theater that's that's that's just dumb i'm i'm gonna follow down with dumber dumb and dumber one more my wife tells me i have two major faults i don't listen and something else [Music] [Applause] open your bibles gospel of matthew chapter 6 the gospel of matthew chapter 6. actually yesterday i i was thinking and praying about this today and and i i kept feeling my heart pulled towards the whole thing with the the ukrainian people by the way how many of you went to the festival of cultures last night i loved that event so much and there was a table there uh with our ukrainian students i don't know if any of them are in the room but got to talk with some of them about their contact with the family members and and one of them said yeah in our town they dropped bombs in the city but they didn't explode they're just their unexploded bombs so it kind of fits the story that uh was told a minute ago so yeah so we're thankful but i i've just been i i've i you know you have to almost be brain dead to not be moved by some of these crises and these stories but oftentimes we don't really know what to do i mean we know to pray but can i say this without being accusational just honest sometimes our prayers are token prayers to make us feel better about responding to crisis and they're not necessarily prayers to make a difference and the lord has actually called us and positioned us to make a difference in our co-laboring relationship through prayer the to me one of the greatest mysteries in the bible is the fact that we were designed to co-labor with god and it fascinates me most every day of my life and a prayer is is one of those moments where where um where we see it the clearest and so i want to talk to you about prayer today but most of what i'm going to do is i'm going to actually review things that we've heard that we've said amen to but i feel like i feel like probably for at least a few of us uh some of the things that i'm going to talk to about have been put on the back burner and they need to be on the front burner they need to be right up front because of the moment that we live in you were designed to be alive at this moment honestly if if that phrase and esther for such a time as this if it ever applied to anybody it applies to you right now you've had many opportunities to die and you're still here it's it's the truth i mean it's let's let's be honest every time you drive down the road somebody could have a heart attack and pull in front of you and that's it the point is is god has strategically arranged for you as a representative of his world to be positioned here to make a difference when he gave us the assignment to pray he never told us to pray to keep us busy he did not create prayer as a christian activity to occupy our time or to occupy our thoughts or to engage us emotionally uh knowing that we'll never see the fulfillment of what we're praying it's just to keep us hopeful until we die or jesus returns it's an insult to the design of prayer the design of prayer comes out of this place where he says come up here it's an engagement with the heart of the father here's what the scripture says number one i have been blessed ephesians 1 3 i have past tense been blessed with every spiritual blessing in christ in heavenly places it is all in my account warning it's null it's not all in my possession and the christian life is learning to make withdrawals many people boast that they have everything but they can't display anything what i just said so he's positioned us in this co-laboring role to partner with the father because the father is looking for someone who will stand in a place of influence through prayer not by your title but by your assignment to stand before a righteous father and contend on behalf of those who are in crisis or in need you are alive for such a time as this i want to give you about a 45 minute long sermon in five minutes so that don't don't you're not getting off easy so i can go into the second one so don't don't don't pack your bags yet you're not getting off that easy honestly i want to set the stage for something that i think is a as for me anyway was one of the great mysteries of prayer hopefully this will bring clarification so we can build and we're going to we're going to actually look at the lord's prayer today as we've said so many times i don't think the lord's prayer that title is a good title i mean it works because we know where it is but um it wasn't his prayer because in the prayers the confession of sin and he had no sin it was a model prayer i like personally i like to refer to it as an apostolic prayer because the apostolic mandate is to get the blueprint of heaven and implement it here on earth until this world reflects the nature of that one that's the apostolic mandate and that is the essence of this prayer that god has given us to pray i i'm sorry i need to i need to ramble a minute longer maybe two or three i uh i was watching the chosen i don't remember now three weeks ago which i love the chosen and i was watching this segment where jesus i think he sat on like the edge of his bed or his car or something and he went through a hebrew prayer and then i saw the disciples do it i thought i like that something clicked in my heart it may not in yours but it clicked in my heart and i thought the discipline of a repeated prayer that you refuse to reduce to repetition but you keep it alive there is power in that prayer and so i i have taken it on in the last recent weeks just to take this lord's prayer and pray it uh when i get up in the morning and to pray when i go to bed at night now i don't think jesus gave us that prayer to be prayed i believe it's a pattern prayer it's an outline prayer but when i pray it every phrase is pregnant with meaning so it's more than just a rope prayer and instead it is it is packed with heart that says our father and it starts with there in this engagement with the almighty god who has invited me to co-labor with him and make a difference on earth you are alive to make a difference on the planet and our prayers are to count they are to have effect now one more one more comment in this regard i think one more one or possibly two or three more comments in this regard and then we'll start we'll start with sermon one when he invites us into this place to pray it's not as though i've been assigned to persuade him i've been assigned to engage with him i'll we'll talk about that a little bit more later for such a time as this he doesn't give us the exercise of prayer to keep us busy he gives us the assignment to pray because of his intention to fulfill the prayers that we pray there's two basic kinds of prayers that i want to take a quick look at and uh and so we'll we'll do that and then we'll we'll see if we can make sense of this go to uh matthew chapter six and let's start with verse seven this is the five minute sermon starts right now oh boy i better hurry all right when you pray do not use vain repetition as the heathen do for they think they will be heard for their many words therefore do not be like them for your father knows the things you have need of before you ask i love that he says he says when you pray don't repeat your prayer over and over and over and over and over again the heathen pray that way because they think that by praying a prayer over and over again they can earn the answer they engage with god who gives them points for repeated prayers don't do that that's what the heathen do and then the reasoning behind that he says for your father knows what you have need of to come before my father first of all it doesn't remove for me the responsibility to pray for my daily needs here it says give us this day our daily bread so the very next verse is he gives the assignment to pray for our daily needs so it's not he knows what you need so don't pray he doesn't say that he says he knows what you need so come before him as a father who does not be need to be persuaded to take care of his children be a part of the ever evolving economy of heaven where in your partnership you make agreement to see the release of his supply and his abundance but it comes from the heart of a father who's looking for the the needs of his children he's not the manager of an orphanage the caretaker of an orphanage making sure that you have three meals and a cot to sleep on a coat to wear in the winter he's not he's not someone who just basically takes care of your needs but your wants is something else that's not the way he is he is a father who cares for your needs so bring it before him and because you know he's a loving father because you know what he's like you know you don't need to pray that prayer a hundred times because he heard you the first time give us this day our daily bread if you belabor the prayer it doesn't mean he won't provide it just comes out of a misunderstanding of who he is as your father it was better than your response i know that much for sure all right now i'll go to matthew 7 and we'll take the other part of this verse 7 says ask it will be given to you seek and you will find knock and it will be open to you everyone who asks receives he who seeks fines to him who knocks will be opened the original language here says ask and continue asking all right chapter six don't continue asking chapter seven continue asking i love that i love these conflicts in scripture because they're all invitations they're all invitations many people take the the conflicting thoughts and they get rid of one and just give all their weight behind the the one they agree with or understand these two work together what is it number one he says in john in mark 6 matthew 6 i'll get it one of the guys said it and we read it your father knows what you have neither don't do that repeated prayer thing but by the time we get to chapter seven he says knock continue knocking seek continue seek ask continue to seek why verse verse 11 if you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children how much more will your father in heaven give good things to those who ask him chapter 6 is needs chapter 7 is dreams chapter six is your basic needs chapter seven is the good gifts that our father awards his children with what's the difference the one-time prayer of chapter six daily prayer for provision is because of who he is as a father the repeated prayer changes me it's not a prayer that persuades god it's a prayer that transforms me as one who continually stays before him with the same issue on my heart day after day after day it transforms me so that i become a person who could properly steward the answer that i'm contending for the dreams that fill this room right here were birthed in your heart by god but many of us lack the confidence to stay before him in prayer because we feel sometimes like well he didn't answer the first time we prayed so it must not be his will or i fasted three days and nothing happened so we sacrificed the very thing he birthed in us he put in us and he he gives us the assignment to knock and continue knocking because something changes in me where i engage with him and the more you engage with god over a given subject the more he transforms you into the person needed necessary to be a proper steward of that answer all right first one's over let's go to the lord's prayer verse 9 matthew even though many of you can quote it i do encourage you please look at it in your bible something about seeing it and saying verse 9 chapter 6 of matthew in this manner therefore pray our father in heaven hallowed be your name your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever amen go back to verse 9. our father the western church has fashioned the gospel in such a way that the emphasis the primary emphasis is on individual fulfillment the fulfillment of my call the fulfillment of my dreams the fulfillment of what i want to see from my family and my family line there is a place for that because god has no grandchildren everyone must come in personal relationship with him and place their faith in christ for their salvation so there is the individual but listen to me some prayers are so large they cannot be answered for the individual they can only be answered in the hole for a body for a church family even a spiritual nation our father not my father our father who art in heaven the scripture says that i am seated with him in heavenly places this kind of a prayer is not me in the middle of a problem shouting out to god who i hope hears me so that he can come and rescue me instead it is me one who has been raised up in the resurrected christ to be with him and to engage with him to see his purposes his plans his desires fulfilled on the planet what is his will on earth as it is in heaven that is the mandate we've been given everything is measured by that mandate so we start with our father one of the things that's very hard for us to deal with in the western world is to uh in the western church specifically is this thought that one person can can sin and to have it affect somebody else's life well that just isn't right but it's true it's a reality it's a reality it doesn't mean we are we are are merciless at the hand of other people's choices but it does mean we are affected when cain killed abel god showed up and said where's your brother and his response was am i my brother's keeper and the answer is yes actually you are see what we don't always understand is that we are actually members of one another this thumb is alive because this hand is alive the hand dies the thumb goes with it do you understand there is something about there is an aspect of the christian life of this walk with christ that is completely dependent on one another it's not the part that is emphasized a lot but it is true aiken in in the scripture when he he sinned and uh 15 i think uh maybe he's 35. a whole bunch of israel israeli soldiers that had obeyed god the day before died in the next battle because of vacant sin injust not when you're family there are certain things that happen when you understand that we actually are members of one another so this prayer while it is an apostolic prayer the blueprint of heaven implemented here on earth it is a prayer for our family our father who art in heaven hollowed revered honored feared is your name praying prayers understanding the fear of god doesn't weaken your prayer it intensifies it takes a broad prayer and turns it into a laser beam in its effectiveness because the fear of god is the qualifier of everything effective in the christian life hallowed be your name many people take the lord's name in vain and i i remember working in a the police station once i was cleaning a cleaning city hall and police department i was a i was a custodial engineer janet janitor janitor yeah and i remember when i was in the city hall and a guy blurted out jesus christ he was is working in the city all for the city and i said man if if you just knew him you wouldn't you wouldn't use his name like that it creates me to hear that whether it's on tv or with another person i don't feel the need to try to correct everybody but it happens occasionally that same night i was in the police department and the dispatcher we were talking and he did the same thing as man if you knew him you wouldn't the first guy got mad at me i had to leave he was mad at me but the second guy said if you knew him you wouldn't use his name like that he said i am so sorry that's disrespecting the name but the more common way the name is respected when his name is used in vain is by believers who say god told me when he didn't hallowed be your name the name of the lord is a strong tower it's interesting the scripture teaches us that the name of the lord is a hiding place but that hiding place puts you out of reach not out of sight that hiding place puts you out of reach the enemy cannot reach you but he is forced to look at your victory he is forced to look at your safety he is forced to look at the power of the name jesus that completely covers you that jesus so unselfishly gave to you for you to use at your disposal for his purposes hallowed be your name your kingdom come you will be done on earth as it is in heaven jack taylor a number of years ago helped us to understand this verse help me to understand this verse quite a bit better because of the verb tense which i i it's above my pay grade so i just have to point to jack say he knows especially knows right now he's in heaven so but he said the verb tense here uh your kingdom come you will be done actually can be quoted like this will of god be done kingdom of god come will of god be done it's it's actually a command it's a command it's not a command aimed at god he has already made agreement he has already created within his system of prayer to fulfill that cry of his people and so he invites us into that place remember heavenly place conversation where we make the decree we see the heart of the father we feel the compassion of the lord for a given situation and we stand with the father in the name of jesus and we see a problem and we declare kingdom of god come will of god be done the greatest definition for me in the bible of the will of god is on earth as it is in heaven it's such a broad general prayer that it's easy to to pray it and not be able to monitor your answers does it make sense to you answers to prayer is what strengthens you for more prayer answers for prayer strengthen you for more prayer actually gives you the motivation the impetus to to contend for even more because we saw answers to prayer well a prayer like that kingdom of god come on earth as it is in heaven is a pretty large prayer if you don't know how it's answered you won't be encouraged by its answers what does it look like for the kingdom of come kingdom of god to come every time you have a depressed friend that you're able to encourage the kingdom came you have that suicidal neighbor that you're able to talk with and pray with over a period of a week or two and at the end of two weeks that thing is broken off and you no longer have that drive guess what that deliverance happened because the kingdom came that migraine headache that torments that person you work with at the office that you pray for that hasn't had one in three weeks the kingdom came and if you don't understand that's the fulfillment of this cry that we've been positioned to make kingdom of god come will of god be done our life is implementing the reality of that world and releasing it into this one that's life that's prayer but hear me don't pray it if you're not going to follow with obedience don't pray it oh kingdom of god come if you're going to do nothing that he can say amen to because it is our obedience that gives him the target to strike i thought so i i thought i thought it was a pretty good point myself i'm working hard anyway i know that much give us this day our daily bread notice notice this prayer give us this day this prayer is not a prayer for my provision it's a prayer for our provision i i'm sure you you've done that but i i have my doubts that most of us our prayers for provision have been about the else it's been more about the me give us this day our daily bread he leads into this prayer saying your father knows what you have needed before you ask but then he says ask the the mirror posture of asking shows number one my obedience and number two my understanding of how this system works i stand i request he responds i found a couple translations i think three yesterday i've got one here let me read you i think this is william barkley he said give us today our bread for the coming day another translation says give us today tomorrow's bread many of us are accustomed to god answering prayers at 11 59. but that may not be by his design it may be because that's when we pray best many of us have created a theology around the god who comes in at the last moment but this prayer says give me today tomorrow's bread to me that's a prayer of unusual abundance and here's the problem with our with the way many of us have done life is that we have felt that our promotions our blessings our answers to prayer our breakthroughs are for us not realizing that the breakthrough has to benefit the people around me or it was misused when all right when you pray oh god increase the anointing for healing in my life who is it for it's measured by the other people you touch the whole point is when we pray our father we are saying god do something in me in us that benefits the whole and the moment my contending for breakthrough it's a place where i think it's about me the breakthrough levels off there is no limit to what god would release over an individual if the breakthrough is released upon them to benefit the people around them give us today tomorrow's bread i'd like to suggest that in maturity the lord is bringing us to a place where he can trust us with more than we need for now because we're already engaged in give us this day it's about us the early church there was not one person who lacked anything because they understood the us give us this day our daily bread give us today tomorrow's bread and forgive us our debts our sins as we forgive those who sin against us once again this translation i saw yesterday i really liked forgive us our failures in our duty to you as we have forgiven those who have failed in their duty to us i don't know if you're seeing this the prayer for provision is a daily responsibility number two the repentance the need to confess sin of the slightest attitude that was off it's not a guilt shame game it's a sensitivity to the heart of god that is so constant that i don't want to end any day with an attitude that was wrong a careless word that was spoken for it to be un-dealt with we know the scripture says don't let the sun go down on your anger don't go to bed mad why because if you do that thing will foul and faster in your heart set down roots and begin to affect your personality it becomes very deeply rooted and this is a lifestyle of repentance and forgiveness that is to be maintained every single day forgive us our sins us as we forgive those who sin against us lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil and lead us not to temptation this is another one of those conflict ideas in the bible which which i i like so much i i quote often for you the proverbs passage it says don't answer a fool according to his folly lest he be wise in his own eyes very next verse answer a fool according to his folly yeah lestepie wise in his own eyes i misquoted it don't answer a fool according to his folly for some good reason the answer for here we have ask god not to lead you into temptation yet james says it is impossible for him to lead you into temptation so why pray it i think it's important for us not to live in shame from our past but to live in the realization that we can fail and there's something about that i call it porn spirit again not shame not beating ourselves up that's not humility that's that's a subtle form of pride but coming to the lord realizing i too can fall galatians talks about this you who are trying to restore our brother who has fallen remember you two can fall in other words do it with gentleness if you do with arrogance thinking you're something you're creating a failure of your own so this posture of humility before the lord lead me not into temptation but the uh the way i like to look at this story a little better let's say that let's say i'm really struggling struggling financially and chris and i go out to lunch i'm going to make him the hero of my story he liked it the first time so i'll try it again we go out to lunch and and uh and i'm let's just say i'm really i'm really struggling and uh we sit down at the table and he excuses himself we just get there and i sit down and he goes use the restroom and i'm sitting there and i look in between the salt and pepper shaker and there's a hundred dollar bill folded up there that the waitress obviously didn't see when she cleaned the table and i'm looking at the hundred dollar bill recognizing my need thinking jehovah jireha god has provided for me in mysterious ways and then i realized of course that's the spirit of stupid i'm not going to do that i rebuked that thing there's no way and i i get over and i don't take the money chris comes back from the rest of him sits down and he for the first time notices the money sitting there between the salt and pepper shaker he sees it he grabs it he says man somebody left a good tip and he gets the waitress's attention and gives her the hundred dollars neither of us took the money but it was appealing to one of us sometimes it's the condition of your heart that makes a normal circumstance appealing to do wrong god didn't create the desire to do wrong does that mean any sense at all there's there's a difference here so this prayer lead us not to temptation is basically god as you lead me today take my stupidity into your consideration you know things about me i've never seen i don't know about and probably a bunch i'm not even willing to admit to but please as you lead me today i only want to honor you does that make any sense lead us not to temptation but deliver us from the evil one paul gives a warning in ephesians 4 don't give place to the devil and it was written to what i think anyway historically was the most mature church at least of its time church at ephesus not one correction in there the only epistle that didn't have a word of correction it was church to the church at ephesus and in them he warned them don't give place to the devil because it's possible for a believer to give the enemy a legal opportunity to kill steel destroy so this prayer is important prayer but please notice again it's not just a prayer me praying for me it's me praying for us lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one go ahead and stand and i want to end with one more point if you stand that i have to end okay just hold hold tight please if you would here's what i want you to notice how does this prayer start our father how does it end for thine is the kingdom you can go through the whole prayer and miss the main point every bit of information in conversation about the kingdom of god is about family our father for that is the kingdom all kingdom issues are family issues and you may say well i come from a broken home i don't know how that could apply listen if everybody in the room had the most perfect family on the planet it still wouldn't apply directly to you it would apply to us as the family of god the family on earth is a shadow of what god has made us to be together for thine is the kingdom the power the glory the whole point is this we are not part of an institution we're not part of some kind of religious organization where a living family members of one another and when we talk about seeking first the kingdom we're actually talking about the privilege of fighting on behalf of another person to taste of the beauty and the wonder of god's will in their life at a level they've never seen before this is about us i'm hoping that from today yes pray for ukraine there are specific ways we can pray because of what we've shared today but i'm hoping it goes beyond the immediate crisis and it goes into the way we approach the father and we start praying more intentionally for that other business to prosper as well for that other family to conceive and have a child for that other family there's somebody right over here that is asking to give to be able to conceive and you've not been able to and i believe it's the word of the lord to release that that gift to you that's right right of the arts i saw it so the lord is releasing that grace i believe over this church family to also pray the us prayers the we prayers the hour prayer our father father i pray for this family for our online family that you would teach us how to pray thanks teach us he's assigned us to shape the course of history through prayer prayer that shapes the course of history that's our assignment so teach us to engage so deeply with your heart that what we pray matters amen one last thing i want to know if there's anyone here who has never made a personal commitment to the lord jesus christ you've never committed your life to him you have never been with the bible calls born again you don't know what it is to be forgiven to be brought into a family but you be wanted to say today i don't want to leave the building until i know i have truly found peace with god that i've been forgiven of sin if that's you put a hand up real quick right where you are i there's one statement he said he says if you pray and and don't obey there's no point praying and when he said that he's just like oh that is such a phenomenal word to get me back into gear of how effective and also how intentional you could do with your prayer life right and he said he said it be because it doesn't give god a target yeah to land on and and you know just the part of of of us remembering that prayer is not an opportunity or a chance for us to persuade god but it's an opportunity to engage him because he already wants to answer our prayers yes so he's already responding to our prayer for ukraine he's already responding to our prayers for healing for folks to get changed their lives to be touched he's already saying i want to speak into those things your prayers give me a chance to do that i know for my life i mean i'm a beneficiary of someone's targeted prayer i think of my grandmother i think of my grandmothers i think of my father my mother it's just the the to be intentional with prayer to be able to be pinpointing on what god is saying and then pray in obedience to the voice of the lord and the word of god i think it's such a powerful thing today was just i don't know it was a great reminder of this thing that we have in connection with god in prayer language obviously but just praying for something to change and shift is just amazing yes and god so we thank you for not only empowering us for our own lives but empowering us as a family of believers to pray for situations that surround us to take authority in our spheres of influence and to speak your kingdom into our right now so god i speak your kingdom into those receiving christ today i speak your kingdom into those needing healing today i speak your kingdom into those needing transformation in their hearts and then their families today god have your perfect way in our bethel family and in our family all around the world those believing you and those pre-believers that need your voice in their situation we speak the kingdom come and your will be done in heaven as it is on earth just as jamilah was praying there i literally felt pain come from here in my back and if that's you and you say joel i need to i need to receive healing i believe the lord just did something as we as jamila was praying there right now and if you had a back condition maybe it was a couple of diss out because of an accident i feel first of all he's going to heal trauma second of all your back is being healed right now in the name of jesus and so if if that was you i want you to write in in the chat right now saying i am healed test it out start moving your back but i really felt like was a couple of discs and it was and there's also pain on the right side of your back maybe that was muscular so anything to do with the spine and the right side of your back god is healing you right now yes yeah i have a testimony just to build the faith for those who are being touched right now there's a woman she had broken her leg in three places we went to go minister at her church and one of her fellow church sisters had just started learning about healing she said you know what i'm gonna try what i just learned and she went and she prayed for that woman who was told you'll never walk without a cane that woman ran around the room her husband walking behind her hardly able to stand from weeping and praising god with her cane in his hand because she was completely healed so we speak that the word and the spirit of god is touching your body and healing you right now i feel this week my personal challenge is to talk less and pray more intentionally yeah because i mean i have no problem having an opinion on things but i'm telling you right now the lord is calling all of us to pray intentionally in what he's doing what god is saying right now in the church and what he's doing globally i'm telling you it's really powerful time for us to stand up and stand in faith for many people and not just our families but many people that we believe in god you should see it joel i am healed walker petra barbara we see it as walker you're healed my goodness god is moving all over the world i love it we're so glad that you joined us today this week take what we've learned on prayer and the boldness of the spirit to speak into your situations and see heaven come right there
