John Deere 1025r: I Dig That

well good morning it's a cool start too early June day in northern Ohio I don't you remember we moved the chicken coop last week and if you watch that video you knew that this was weeds pretty tall and the chickens have done a pretty good job at clearing this out here we still haven't put a little roof on so some of the chickens are flying out and getting out and taking their chances with the Hawks but today I'm gonna do a little clearing some of the areas of land and digging out some stumps so you want to come check it out let's go do it [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] towards the end of winter I rented a stump grinder at a couple buddies come over and have them run it while I ran my chainsaw and use the tractor to go down our driveway and all together we proudly grind it up about 30 stump I don't have that many to do today some to use the backhoe to take a bow [Music] so with me so far depending on the size of the tree the types of the tree this might be worth getting the stump grinder but these aren't too bad I got a little larger one out by the road than them of doing a little bit but if you have like an oak tree and it's probably bigger than eighteen inches in diameter it could take a while using your back [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] now I have seen an attachment where you can take your bucket off and you can put this blade and it will cut through the roots and it seems like it might be a pipe practical application but if you work at it and you gather some deep roots your bucket can slowly scrape them the weaken them and then tear right through eventually [Music] so I had called eight one one call before you dig about a month and a half ago and I still have some of the flags up because I still have some of the work I want to do up out of the road you'll notice there's a flag up over here and there's a guy in the background and I have a pipeline if that goes through right down our road two of them side by side twelve inches in diameter the pipelines are and there are only about two and a half three feet deep so anytime you do anything here you have to call them they will come out and they have to sit and watch you the whole time that you're doing anything out by their pipelines they have a plane that flies overhead every day and it goes from one end of the state to the other and if they see anybody out there that's not on their schedule working with any kind of equipment within minutes there'll be a truck out there asking what you're doing so with this particular stump the guys were helped me out with their little spud bars and I'm not sure if they help that or not but um from start to finish with this stump it took 16 minutes and that's how long the video was from the time man I started digging to the time we got it pried out of the ground [Music] [Music] this is where thumb might come in handy but eventually I got it [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so that's gonna do it for today things are clearing out over here we're gonna start thinking some post out on the other side of the shed and then putting a roof on the over the coop pretty soon so just got to clear this area a little bit more and we should be good to go so thanks for watching I hope you guys subscribe and like these videos and keep an eye on us
