Jessica Hull - 1 Mile - 2019 Razorback Invitational

this race but here is the one we're focusing on this is Jessica hauled seen her from Oregon she let off Oregon's in distance medley relay last night with the 1200 meter leg we're really looking for something in this women's Invitational bio she is the reigning n-c-double-a champion in the 1500 meters outdoors also to me almost as impressive as the fact that she was third at the NCAA cross country championships this past fall that's after being 78 in 2017 so that just speaks to the amount of improvement that Jessica Hall has had over the past year she likes to go out to the front likes to get up there early on the lead taylor werner from Arkansas who saw in the three cake is gonna go out and rabbit this race they're intending on her to go through about a 68 first 400 meters to set up that pace for Jessica Hall and the rest of the field so I'm wondering it yet I haven't indicated that there's two Pacers in the first one Oregon freshman Taylor Ciotti and then Taylor Werner so they are lined up that way except that burner is now back in third with the chiotti the freshman in front certainly Taylor Werner is not interested in doubling back from that outstanding 3,000 meter effort with a serious effort in the pile as she steps off the track map just the hole on that Bauman watchlist this season this is her debut and an individual event this season looking to take full advantage of beam off that's a really fast track because as you look at me those top marks the NCAA and train the weekend she's certainly identifying a few of those two gun after leading the nation right now at the top about a 436 I believe at least that was and trade the weekend Dwight so that's certainly a mark that she's going to be looking to and I talked with head coach Robert Johnson yesterday and he said that she has just had such amazing growth and that progress that she saw from the outdoor season when she won the 1500 title carried that right through into cross country thanks to the leadership of Helen Lehman Winters who's now coaching the women's distance events at Oregon and that has just really helped her gain confidence and then that sets the tone for the rest of their group she's a little bit like a European racer you got the rabbit rabbiting the preferred designated star and now Taylor chiotti steps off the track with 800 meters to go and Jessica hull property has a almost 20 meter lead over the field 216 is what they were looking to go through at that 800 meter point looks like they were pretty well on par for that in this race that chase pack is developing you can see Arkansas starting to make some moves and I would expect for Susan a joy from Oregon just the walls teammate to really make some moves as well to try to get up there and push hole and take her along in this race that's Lauren Gregory from Arkansas currently sitting in second coach Lance harder said that she's really primed for a break through she's been training on par with Taylor Werner she was a high school stud who had some stress fractures and some injury issues coming in so this could be a really big breakthrough for her especially on home track just a freshman is Lauren Gregory and she's out there by herself in second place but she has closed a little bit of a gap between herself and Jessica Hall 400 meters coming up and it's all Jessica Hall and she still continues to just click along and she has not let up whatsoever she really went out you know aggressive behind those rabbits and is keeping this pace honest she is sight showing no signs of letting up back there and she is an athlete who really likes to go out goes to the front she's not necessarily as much of a sit and kick kind of a runner you can tell that you know that grit that she built from cross-country season in which she was bronze in the cross country championships in the fall certainly paying off a building that range that she has 200 meters remaining it still remains Jessica Hall the senior from Oregon over Lauren Gregory the Arkansas freshman not much has changed in the last 400 meters but Gregory is trying to make some kind of a move she is closing a little bit of a gap but I just think that there's way too much distance to make up to a veteran like Jessica Hall Gregory certainly did find another gear as they go to that turn right there it's gonna be interesting coming on the straightaway holes personal bests coming in is 4:31 well she's gonna be right at that 431 flat for the Oregon scene
