Jay Slater's Last Movements: What We Know About Missing Teen in Tenerife

it's been 5 days since 19-year-old British teenager Jay Slater went missing on Monday morning June 177 in tenner Reef Spain the Lancer local has not been heard from since around 8:50 that morning when he called his friend Lucy law to tell her that he was lost trying to make his way back to the accommodation and his phone was only on 1% battery 5 days on police still have not located the teenager and are busy piecing together where he could be vowing to keep the search going let's go through everything we know so far in this missing person's investigation jaay later traveled to the south coast of tenner Reef to attend NRG Festival a three-day Rave with two of his friends after partying throughout Sunday night Jay left the club around 5:00 a.m. leaving with two British men he had met telling his friends Lucy and Brad he would stay overnight with them Lucy told the mail online her and Brad urged Jay to stay with them saying he didn't even know the two men the Airbnb the three traveled to was in a village of Masa an hour's drive from pad delas America an 11h hour walk from Jay's accommodation it's here where it's believed this final picture on Jay's Snapchat was taken it shows an out of focus hand holding a cigarette and lighter and what appears to be steps leading out from a property a vacation tag on the image reads Parker rural de tenno buav Vista Del by 8:00 a.m. according to a local woman Medina Hernandez Jay had been spotted at a bus stop outside the Airbnb where he asked her how to get back to his accommodation in Los cristianos she told him there wasn't a bus for another two hours not until 10:00 a.m. 15 minutes after that conversation Medina spotted jay walking on the road out of the village up the mountain in the rural DET tenno national park by 8:50 a.m. Jay called his friend Lucy to tell her he was lost had cut his leg on a cactus and was about to run out of phone battery this was the last moment anyone had heard from Jay but Days Later his friend Lucy has questioned why no one has spotted the teenager on a main road in an area that is frequented by hikers Lucy said there's something we going on it's suspicious you're telling me someone's not seen him there is a restaurant 10 minutes away that he would have seen or walked past fair enough it didn't open for another two hours but if that were me I would have sat and waited at the restaurant until it opened and as soon as it opened I would have said please can you put my phone on charge and then I would have rung someone I would have rung for a taxi it's suspicious and it's weird Lucy La ALS also told the son that she had Tracked Down the Airbnb where Jay had visited where the two British men told her that Jay had left that morning to get cigarettes and presumably catch the bus back to his accommodation from outside the house Jay's mom Debbie believes her son could have been kidnapped she told the media that she received a message on Snapchat that read kiss goodbye to your boy youve never going to see him again he owes me a lot of money this coupled with various disturbing phone calls that she had received some of the phone calls I've been getting have been horrible I just don't know why people want to do things like this I've been getting a lot of prank calls it's sickening just a nightmare just Absolut living nightmare it's like a dream it's like it's not happening it really is it really is now would just wish I had encourage him to go should have said don't go to ten don't go former Constable Sue Sim told Kevin O Sullivan that this area of Southern tenor reef is one of the most dangerous places to go missing it is one of the most beautiful parts of tener it is also one of the most dangerous places to go missing there are all sorts of tracks that people can W off the main road if he was walking if he'd Set uh maps for walking the walking trails are not near the main road so he probably wouldn't be on the main road again reading the um the papers and seeing the news coverage he'd been out at a a three-day concert he was saying he was very dehydrated it's unfortunately a very very easy area to get lost in uh and consulate go on carry on S sorry consulate are there they will be helping the family as much as possible they have got the uh local uh teams out they have got the mountain rescue teams out they've also got the drones up um they are the best people to be there I know that there are lots of questions about why the British police aren't out there if the British police went out in some ways there'd be more hindrance than help because they don't know the terrain these these sorts of searches are best done by the local people who will be putting every effort that they can into finding this young man so what's happening now Jay's phone was last pinged to a spot close to a restaurant looking over the canyon where police firefighters and volunteers announced searching police claim to be keeping an open mind about where the team could be but there are fears as Jay was carrying no water to stay hydrated in Rocky terrain and hot temperatures while there is reportedly no talk to scale down the search efforts at all according to the
