[Music] ironically I had to log off before I got on here today to drive this log car and I had to ask myself would I really want to do this how many stupid puns can you do I don't know Captain's Log 2019 all right let's see we do here we are gonna try and set a land speed record for the world's fastest log if we do it will be world-famous the record we're hoping to break today 47 miles an hour here we go okay at 6 miles an hour that's guarantee 20 miles an hour ma'am was never meant to go this fast on the loss 30 miles an hour pulling 400 amps getting hard to breathe [Applause] Wow that was almost as exciting as driving here Jay what are we hit how do we do we break the log record 58 yes facets log in the world ladies jealous I predict this record will stand forever because nobody really of amazing technology you know a car being able to drive okay the stability problem is taken care of it's on four wheels obviously where do we begin you know the traffic environment in the future will change a lot cars will get connected more intelligent and we as motorcyclists want to be part of it as well so we taught the motorcycle how to ride a bike to get more knowledge about the vehicles dynamic obviously this was built sort of for fun to show that you can do it nobody's gonna put out a riderless modis I sure but where do you see this technology being used for in the future another sort of BMW product autonomous vehicles are here you can think of a bike that's able to tell you you're going too hot into a corner or you need to be you know harder on your braking advanced rider it could be a beginner rider and the bike could actually help you to the accident avoidance technology will be obviously really something you could really use well if your bike was communicating with the car and telling the car that hey there's a motorcycle in this area or there's a potential collision it actually helps the car avoid the collision as well now did you run into people within the company I'd say no that's crazy you'll never be able to do that then you feel you have to do all the time yeah even my boss didn't think that we were really able to do that yeah but we proved him wrong so how does it stay stable I imagine there's no gyroscope or anything of that name no that's what's cool about it if you think about gyroscope well that's keeping the bike balanced keeping it upright right this doesn't have any of that and so it's really all of the writer inputs or what a normal rider would have rather a motorcycle because once a motorcycle is rolling you can take your hands off the bars and sort of steered by that part although hard it's not as hard I imagine it's initially pulling away for the starting and for stopping we have an additional kickstand on the other side that can be automated so like a human that puts down its foot when it approaches a red traffic light the motorcycle do exactly the same well gentlemen it's just just amazing could I borrow this I I have an idea for something I just want to try and the future there's no telling how many lives will be saved by this incredible technology but for now I got the perfect gig for this cyborg motorcycle [Music] normally it would be electric powered maybe half a horsepower we now have somewhere around 20 horsepower 20 horsepower in this one that one's around 50 horsepower okay where are you guys from we're and I saw some guys on the internet that put a real engine and a shopping cart okay so why we need to get off the internet did you buy these brand new do you get him off eBay had that happen this one was used I just got it from someone off of Craigslist and he actually tried to sell me on a Barbie playset as well yeah I didn't go for that so I just took this home and then I brought it over to Ethan's house right he had a perfectly good working dirt bike and we just basically meshed the two together yes so we built this one and once we saw how much fun it was the obvious next step was to make an off-road version obvious obvious I mean obviously of course yeah we've both rolled both of these you've all rolled them well yeah yeah definitely first time he drove this one the wheel fell off and he almost went off the cliff yeah have you gas tank above your head safety who cares about that all right okay let's see just how fast these Barbies can go they come oh wow yeah I also developed a bit of an oil leak along the way not a bit of an oil leak that's an oil leak that is a lot of an oil leak yeah yeah the valve cover gaskets blew out there okay that's unfortunate you know prior to this the previous record was one mile an hour problem well maybe five okay so from five miles an hour to 110 huge jump yeah that's the big difference yeah dude it's telling me that he got 110 on me wow that is awesome [Music] so we just drive right into the wall thank you run and make sure we don't hit her wings on anything get nice straight and then we're gonna go down the ramp and we're in the water and now we're the water cool absolutely buoyant time I go from here down to gear up oh how many feet you need for father to lift off course you pick up like this right now it'll probably take us a little over a thousand feet [Music] and then going into that went a little bit there we go we're up [Music] I was out there we're done we're gonna leave the long beach shower and then we are going to meet up with the second aircraft okay well hopefully we'll just leave this second a crab we won't beat up with yeah I did exactly he's a powerful your side yeah very cool so what I'm gonna do is I'm going to climb up to about seven eight hundred feet over the water and then we I'm gonna give you the controls you're gonna fly for a little oh thank you very much that's very good we need yeah what could go wrong what do I do all right so flying around will primarily pay attention to like our full rise in line so off to the distance good now if we want to do a left-hand turn you're gonna bring the stick to the left a little bit perfect just like that yeah look ma I'm flying okay doesn't take much time very light everything but ease that went roll aside icon safety features really steal the show and I'm about to get a first-hand demonstration ears up i'll put our flaps down so it'll get it's nice and slow and then i'm just slowly gonna start pitching up the nose you're gonna hear a star warning more and maybe yellow all right now no we're in a full stall pretty light and any regards lower the nose is full power i don't know that so it's nothing scary no it's very cool yeah now obviously new janessa was gonna stall that's why i was so calm and collected fact the icon feels so safe from maxing i actually fell asleep but there's no time for that this is the part where a 78 Bell ex-marine helicopter with a 38 chrysler front end the chassis is a 95 chevy s-10 and automatic transmission automatic 700 transmission 350 crate motor now you're not the actual builder you acquire this right what's the motivation why do you collect these we like these strange and unusual have you met anybody else where the helicopter car I have not think there you go right there now let me ask you a question I think a lot of guys watching this or asking married are you yes sir okay now does your wife ever just kind of go every purchase every that she finds all right well very good
