Jason Boyle ,brilliant best man speech

[Applause] thank you thank you okay now uh before starting the speech I'd just like to thank uh Andy and Robert my two support acts this evening and I'd like to begin by proposing a toast to the beautiful bridesmaids Jacqueline Michelle CLA and our little fli girl Nicole yes two of them I'm sure you all agree they all look absolutely gorgeous today and they only out shwn by our stunning bride Sandra here to now this is the second time I've had the horror sorry I mean the honor of being best man now I must have done a decent job the last time because the couple in question are both here today unfortunately they're just not together but for for those of you that don't know um the job of being best man consists of two tasks uh the first being to make sure Robert got to the church on time sober and smart it's basically my job to make sure his face and his hair are in order basically I've just done the best with what I've had to work with now the second and most important task is taking a couple of minutes to assassinate Robert's character so without further Ado for those of you that don't know Robert was born on the 30th of March 1973 now having spoken to his mom Pat about Robert's early years she said he was a wonderfully sweet natured happy and contented little baby only let down by the fact that he was deeply ugly so so that was his early years basically he sat about being unpopular and shun by the locals until all that changed on the 5th of February 1977 when I was born suddenly it was popular people didn't cross the road anymore and from that moment on we went everywhere together now the thing I loved about Robert's family H his mom Pat his dad Alex and his big sister Karen is they always made you feel really welcome part of the family especially Karen whom after beating Robert up would always beat me up as well [Laughter] [Applause] Robert and I used to beg his mom to pin tea toils around her necks so that we could play Batman and Robin we used to fly out the back door and run around F shw Crescent for hours with these tea tows flying out behind us now of course we didn't always see eye to eye in our battle against the forces of Darkness I would start off with me saying I want to be Batman and he'd say no you're too weak to be Batman you're Robin and this would usually end up with him calling me stupid and me calling him lanky and then we both run off greeting to our mommies but the next day without fail sure enough he dropped me an email from his work and everything would be [Applause] okay okay no it's at this point I'm going to have to disappoint everybody and telling you that I'm I'm not going to let you know all the wild and crazy stories of Robert's bizarre past and it's not because of the huge bribe that Robert gave me um you don't know I'm coming to Mexico with you and Robert Sandra no no h no the reason I'm not going to tell you all this is because I was usually standing right next to him doing it all as well and my girlfriend friend of my Mom and Dad are here tonight so honestly it's not that I don't want to tell you it's that honestly a cany but you buy me a few drinks at the bar later and I'll tell you everything seriously though um I feel it's a great honor and a privilege to be Robert's best man today now anybody that knows Robert will tell you that he's a doer and not a say he's always looking for his next adventure um he's done loads of traveling and met some great friends along the way so to be asked to be his best man today makes me feel really proud um but but can I just say to you Sandra that I haven't known Robert for for all these years I can honestly say this is the happy the happiest and most settled he's ever been um now it's impossible for me to summarize the years I've known Robert so I'd just like to say that he's been the best anyone could have hoped for in a friend H and I've always been able to go to him for support in dark hours and I know that he'll maintain these high standards as a caring and loving husband to you Sandra um Everybody agrees you make a fantastic couple so once again thank you for allowing me to share your special day so ladies and gentlemen H it gives me immense pleasure not to mention immense relief to invite you all to be upstanding and raise your glasses and the toast of Robert and Sandra the new misses and Mr Smith yes please [Music]
