[Music] so i'm out here in snoqualmie washington this is pretty close to where i live this is awesome they actually said that they had they called a bunch of tree companies they wanted to get this removed nobody was calling back the guy's like i think i'll email the guy from youtube and uh i was like yeah i'm just here like a week later so this is awesome it's just a maple they want to get it taken down because it's multiple stems and it's around their shop and everything they also don't like how many leaves it produces anyways we're just gonna cut it down it's nothing super fancy but i did that fur video the other day that wasn't that fancy and people still liked it i just looked at pictures and i was like yeah i think i'm gonna need to lower some stuff down i put a message on instagram like i need a ground guy for just one day and randy is the mandy instantly replied i'm like man a man with chest hair and everything so i was actually really surprised that that ryan replied because he's like a really good climber and but he said he'll come out and help me um we're gonna probably zipline the back stuff over to that tree over here we set up a grcs on it and it's pretty straightforward um but yeah we're just gonna get after it thanks for coming out i don't like that your name's not randy i was gonna ask you too do you go by guilty or jacob yeah it's i go if i whatever like whatever yeah dudes playing dudes disguises these guys that see how tree care just call me guilty yeah and then some people call me treason and then some people and in my whole life it's been like 50 50 jake or jacob it's uh same kind of whatever you want ryan randy you hey yeah yeah you said my gases my sauce going up randy combined gas and oil to make one word and i put my uh my batteries are ready for you nice and i have them marked there with ours okay sweet yeah so i'm using the battery one for this because uh i really like the battery saw but i only have one battery because i used to have i used to use the saw all the time when i worked at east side because we had a bunch of batteries and um i had that sweet truck and it had an inverter i could charge batteries but now i only have the battery i got with the saw and i don't have uh any extras so i find myself basically never using this saw but randy's got extra batteries so i'm going to use it today i want more batteries for sure i just i just want to solely use this but then i tell myself if i do more than like a four battery day that's a lot of cutting i did i mean you got another battery go ahead and do another treat no i'm good i did too much battery work today i find that every two batteries is a oil tank oh really yeah that's i mean but i don't know if it's because i run a different size bar i mean there's a lot of what'd you say you know it's very situational what your your setup is do you want to oh our cena yeah yeah you want to link up i'm excited let me grab mine battery level's low i jk boots they built me these awesome boots they're 16-inch climbers and uh that was a couple weeks ago and then i've been sick i haven't worked in like a couple weeks as the first time climbing with these i filmed uh tim build these boots step by step i'm not sure which video i'll edit first but this is my first time climbing with these i finally have some decent linemen boots again you're uh you're good at putting that gopro on without i have to take it off and do it i can't just take it off and then put it back on i'm scared i'm gonna drop it i'm gonna ask you because i was thinking about getting some of those boots they're gonna do like an affiliate link or something so that it's like code treason you get a discount i get a little commission really well maybe i'll uh jump on it so wait until i get that i don't have a pair of 16-inch climbers anymore my stripper boots i uh i got rid of them dude i love the stripper boots man oh yeah they're solid they're great for spur climbing you know yeah this tree is so much bigger than i thought in the pictures you know what's crazy is i almost uh it might have been helpful you find what helpful so i have a 60-foot bucket truck and it's been in the shop getting it uh getting its boom inspection but i just got called yesterday and they said i could pick it up today and i was like i should just go pick it up and drive it because it hasn't been driven in a while it might you know it might be handy it would have been helpful on this just bust out as much brush as possible you have a 60-foot bucket oh four i would say a forestry truck because it has a ship but yeah it's a forestry truck that's sweet yeah i think i'm gonna just sort of uh stick to the uh dude i love this saw man oh yeah it's awesome i love it oh yeah look at this big tear out yeah i'm thinking i'm just gonna try to keep it small just these down only jobs is what i like doing because it's like i thought about getting like if i get a chip truck or a chipper then i'm kind of like married to one location you know i want to be traveling around yeah yeah doing what you're doing you can just go you have an efficient car you can go jump around and do the thing yeah i also have a nice motorhome but it's too expensive to drive now i bet i think of uh like when you get the equipment too you got like i'll shoot now i got oil changes and i got all the all the stuff that comes with it yeah you get like i feel like you're kind of married to it you know god look how fast i'm cleaning this up dude you're doing so good grabbing your brush bunny running around dude yeah the best ground guy ever i love it i'm so shocked that you're like i'll come to your ground guy i would love it any time so i usually generally work three days a week but the guy that i worked for i came in and worked like five days he's like why do you do it and i'm like i'll chalk it up i'm addicted to doing it i'm i'm addicted to it yeah yeah i'm the same way especially last i think it's been like two or three weeks since i've done any done any work it just got real slow all of a sudden i didn't be feeding for it just like i need to cut something down i know yeah it is it's like i'm gonna drop a big dead one yeah i'm all clear yeah i got a bird nest up here a little birdie huh under real quick quick as a bunny what do i do with this well i guess there are no eggs in it so i think it's empty vacant dude it's crazy man like how much bigger these trees like trees are in person it's still big up there oh and like you were saying earlier so you were saying you were doing one by yourself today and you had to come down like five times i did do one i just had to come down and hike back up like 60 feet really that sucks man i was pretty bummed i probably would have just left if i didn't have if you didn't have someone you're like i didn't need to re-evaluate yeah yeah some days you're the dog some days you're the hydrant [Laughter] i've not heard that i'm learning so i had a i'm always losing my sunglasses i had a pair that cloggers sent me for free i was wearing you know i was at the lake the other day and these like i don't know 11 year old boys came up to me and they're like we started we started off with uh two dollars and we traded for these water bottles we're wondering if you have anything you'd trade for these water bottles we were trying to get to fifty dollars so i traded my sunglasses for a couple of bottles of water oh that was a nice view got them probably got them to where they needed to be yeah they were pretty used but uh i just thought it was cool what they were trying to do they were trying to hustle us what they were doing yeah they were like no way sunglasses but then i had to buy sunglasses really munching through that brush there randy i am a brush bunny zoinks i didn't even think there would be brush to drag i thought oh well i like it keeps me uh young yeah and i'll take that riga line whenever you're ready buddy yeah beginning of every tree company i mean yeah start out with a partner and next thing you know one guy has a company and the other guy doesn't the other guy's doing firefighting or something i really keeping a saw on yeah yeah and then he'll be yelling to you i need that bottom i'm like you're the guy dude or or like when you're trying to yell the ground and the ground guys are just standing there like what instead of turning the tripper down yeah like turn it down let's talk like normal humans yeah dude like all those like stop all even if it's like a walk i'll go turn off the chipper let it and then like okay what do you need you know yeah like wait all right now we have clear i want to know everything yeah yeah what'd you have for breakfast yeah or guys that are like leave their they're like doing a prune or a wind sail and they just like their sauce just idling for an hour yeah oh that's the worst they're using their hand saw and their saw just idling that is the absolute worst okay it the idea here is reducing some of the weight up here means that when i make a big cut down there it's less pressure being released at once meaning it's less likely for the trunk to barber chair which barber chair is especially dangerous when you're in the tree you know rolling like thunder yep okay jacob i'm gonna start up my saw and dice this up so i can get out of the road you cool with done that uh oh i have a well i've definitely done pete out of the tree but i have another experience that when my first year in this this kid this guy didn't say anything and it was a nice day like this it wasn't you know nice dahlias but all of a sudden i felt raindrops and i was like are you kidding me you didn't even say anything like you're you're pissing on me and so i got like a need to say i got peed on which is like horrible just horrible i'm like come on dude yeah i wasn't expected to work to get some rain drops on a nice day i'm like what is going on like he didn't say anything no he just well that kind of goes to me my who i start you know guys brother and just weird stuff it's just the groundy dude one time i was running the porter app and the climber was in the tree doing this deodorant removal and i look up like at the base of the tree and as i look up my mouth is open and i got a fat taw spit right in my mouth oh he just like went and it right in my mouth yeah it was so vile that's like puke immediately yeah i was like gagging i was like dude like that stuff's nasty as it is but someone's spitting it in here yeah it's pretty much you spit in your mouth which is like gross oh you're like sorry the crazy things you see i mean you hear about like at least spit on the trunk you know let it drip down slowly yeah you know what you're doing that's all yeah i don't waiting you know neither did i but he probably drove the avant to a drive-through restaurant ate in it and then came back without to be seen eating lunch he's an animal he would never he would never dare let someone see him eating lunch you know he wants to be the hardest worker as little as you know i am there's only room for one hard worker around these parts online do all the climbers at the the company you work for does everybody think that they're the best climber at the company uh yeah pretty much that's every tree crew i mean i don't uh i'm just because that like i love it because like i said i don't mind being on the ground so i'm just like i go to work and like sometimes they're climbed up it's like oh papa's got it daddy's going to show you how it's done i'm all right daddy get up there all these tree guys act like nobody else knows how to climb trees you know i just like go ahead show me i don't i don't care better than you than me yeah show me how to chunk that big wood down i'll be here with my kids here yeah some people you brush it out i'll do the wood i'm like sold all right cool you want to do the heart like okay fine you convinced me a lot of them are super young too so they i feel like they all have something to prove and i'm just like whatever i mean i got nothing to prove to me i'm here to either i just love i don't know what it is i just love that everybody that climbs trees thinks that they're the best at it they're they're god's gift yeah yeah i have no idea either it's everyone's uh ego is the is the biggest everybody thinks they're the humblest but also the best yep oh yeah it took you two hours to do hour 45 for me like i'm really convinced of this after training like many climbers i'm really convinced that once a climber decides that like they're just the best and nobody's got anything to teach them they don't get any better after that point you know they don't yeah they don't they can quit learning and there's new stuff that comes out all the time it's like a light switch goes off where they realize that they're the best climber and as soon as that light switch goes off they just that's how that's the best they're ever gonna be that's all that you need to know is what they know anything more is stupid and is there's nothing that's like a bigger waste of time than like trying to figure out if somebody's a good climber by asking them if they are or not yeah yeah i was like they're all the best they're all they all know i know how to do that can you take this please oh sorry oh felipe it's been up there for hours you think i want to hang on i'm going to hang on to the saw for another two seconds i need a minute i'm going to go reprimand myself you're definitely getting better at groundwork because the day goes on i'm you know it was a little rusty it's been a while oh this is kind of awkward down here i'm kind of a little scared of that actually okay so just got down out of the tree i'm gonna fall these this one leans back so i've got a rope in that these are sufficiently short that i can just follow them where they lean and i won't hit anything i did think like i was up in the tree and i came all the way down i was thinking i could just fall these from the ground but it's actually a very awkward height it's just out of reach i'm almost average height i'm five nine even randy's six two and it's just too awkward so i'm gonna actually step on the ladder to make these cuts um it's just a six foot ladder it's it'd be nice to make the cut the problem here i'll show you the problem with dropping this tree just throw the customer's ladder oops the the problem with dropping this like let's say i it's these it's these included barks originally this was three stems separate and as they've gotten bigger they've sort of fused together they're not fused together but they're just pushing each other so let's say i cut a face cut in here right i went to follow this i've all i've done is undermined this one stem i haven't even gotten into the wood of here so i'd have to cut super deep i'd have to cut super low and hope that the wood was strong enough and it's just a little safer if dangerous no matter what i do right i cut it here it might split apart i cut it here i'm on a ladder or i'm on my spurs i'm you know the positioning is awkward so that's date so it's dangerous no matter what you do but these seams they scare me this they scare they scare randy too and uh so anyways this is just a long way of saying i'm gonna drop these two from the ladder and then i'm gonna drop that one i'm gonna try to cut it up and have randy crank it over leave like a big hinge and get down off the ladder and out of the way and then we're gonna have this awkward big uh stump to deal the road clear and uh i'm going to try to get this awkward stump down lower so that's what we're doing here but we're almost done ready oh yep nasty dude let's treat guys give this song extra brought
