what we have here is the iwatani brand 35fw model butane stove this is an amazing piece of equipment it's expensive about a hundred dollars u.s but really good it's 15 000 btu per hour it's got a double windbreaker it's got a magnetic locking system for easy connection and safety it's got a heat panel system which increases fuel efficiency a solid brass burner piezoelectric ignition and it's a beast i'll show you so this is what they call the heat panel right here and when you use butane canisters like this you just get these at the local asian grocery store these are about a dollar each at tnt locally when these get cold not all the butane will come out so on cheaper versions of butane stoves like the coleman would always have a bit of fuel left over but with this heat panel system what they do i thought it was a gimmick at first but it isn't you can take the top off for easy cleaning here's the burner here's the igniter and this thing is the heat panel and this comes all the way down below here because the flame heats this portion up the heat travels over to here it doesn't get that hot though but just warm enough to transfer the heat over to the butane cartridge so what that does is prevent this butane cartridge from getting cold and just keeps it nice and warm to insert the butane cartridge it's very simple compared to other models there's a magnet in this piece of the head this is magnetic anyway because it's metal as you push that in the notch has to go up it matches with this notch right here and then you just push you have to make sure it's off otherwise it won't close like we just showed you so to take it off you simply push i'll show you if you open this up because let's say you ran out of cartridge or the gas out of your last cartridge this won't get connected it won't take but if you close this make sure it's off slide it on and it connects the previous coleman stove that we had in the van we could never leave the cartridge inside it would always leak and suddenly we'd smell gas in the van we'd have to stop and take the cartridge out it was a cheap burner it was twenty dollars us from coleman but this one well worth it it's fifteen thousand btu the coleman is with about six thousand so to heat up things on here it's an amazing burner i'll show you in a few minutes so this connects with a magnetic locking system close this there's a little latch that you can bring up here put it over it holds on here's the piezoelectric igniter and that gets activated if you go like that all the way it's just one click you can feel and hear the heat turn it off turn towards the right you can also go on very low simmer turn it off there we go so what i want to show you now which we experienced recently we had trouble turning this on we would click it click it click it it wouldn't turn on and what you have to do this burner is connected here to this piezoelectric item this igniter and this was dark and dingy guess from our cooking but you have to clean this off it's weird but if this is not clean you're not going to be able to start your burner so what you had to do was take a sharp knife and very gently scrape all this off and then it worked so we'll put the cover back on we can fill up a pot with some water stir it up and you see the flame is just really strong so what we'll do is start up the water here fill this up a little bit of water and this will boil i didn't put that much in we use this for warming up our water for washing ourselves if we need to we don't have a hot water tank in here we just take from the water that's stored in our kegs we use this for our coffee and our tea what we have here is just japanese maxim coffee instant coffee i've fallen in love with i love coffee i've always had espressos my own coffee makers at home very expensive machines but this coffee it's really good and great for van life because i don't need a grinder in here i don't need electricity i don't need to have fresh beans i just store this maxim coffee from japan instant coffee in here and have coffee gigi will use tea so this is how we make coffee and tea and you see very quickly it's already starting to boil this is hot enough now to drink and we put this in a thermos we have about one liter of hot water with us all the time so if you feel like stopping the ban having some coffee you can just do it see how quick to boil a little bit of water just turn this off it just sizzles so would i recommend the stove oh definitely if you're interested in purchasing there's a link in the description below find the iwatani 35fw and if you do use my link it's an affiliate link it does help support the channel if you do it'd be great if you don't it's fine by me as well but this is definitely one of the premier pieces of equipment that we have in the van this is the windbreaker so if you do take this out outside we can do that even on the windy days really nice burner i'll put this aside so what we did was the cabinet underneath here is wood so i bolted this you can see it's not too strong you can turn it by hand just use regular quarter inch 20 thread bolts i threaded it into the countertop and it prevents the burner from having to move around it's very stable on on here and instead of putting into a drawer moving around each time taking it out of the dryer it's here but we can do it if we want to here just hand tightened we've had this now two years and the coleman stove prior to this we had about a year but this thing blows the coleman stove out of the water this is a really nice unit made in japan not china like the coleman one is and you can use butane canisters from basically anywhere you can get them in walmart you can get them asian grocery stores canadian tire if you're up in canada anywhere so this is an amazing burner easy to clean well constructed and definitely it's uh highly recommended hey thanks for watching our review take care bye bye-bye
