my name is red buttons i've got a secret do you think you can guess what it is [Music] arid green deodorant and the new vanishing cream deodorant arid with non-staining chlorophyll present i've got a secret starring gary moore thank you very much and greetings again to you out there my friends here we go again with another session of i've got a secret a snoopy sort of a game in which we reveal the awful truth about some very nice people just for fun tonight we have some information about the private lives of some interesting folk information which they're going to try to keep secret from our panel first i would like you to meet our panel first handsome bill cullen then beautiful jane meadows then young henry morgan and lovely famers and that is our passion and by the way panel you might be interested if you have some extra money to spend you might be interested to know that in the current issue of tv guy there's quite a story in there uh called um uh it is called tv's golden boys and it is about the producers of our show uh mark something and bill something or other it's quite an interesting story i have several thousand copies in my attic at the moment however just a moment i'm going to introduce you to a young lady with tonight's oh man excuse me i'm just reading the article you should read it it's kind of good i hadn't looked at it up until now all right how about it pamela you're all set to play i've got a secret yes sir all right let's then welcome our first contestant would you come in please ma'am hello i hope it won't annoy you if i tell you that i think you're kind of cute move right up and get real close to that microphone would you tell the panel what your name is please and where you're from young lady jack boss and i'm from pennsville new jersey janet goss from pennsville new jersey all right now panel it's up to you to uncover miss goss's secret you know how we play the game each panelist will get two questioning periods of 15 seconds each but the clock will only time the actual questions that is to say that we take time off for audience reaction and discussion if any when a panelist time is up he will hear this miserable sound and i will pay our guests ten dollars and turn the game over to the next questioner twice around the panel for a total of eighty dollars and the game is over now then miss janet goss if you will whisper you're a secret to me the folks out there waiting to find out what it is this i have got to see all right help classify this secret panel i will tell you only that it concerns something that she did and miss emerson on your first night back on our show we're going to start with you i'm not sure that's why but i'll try this is something she did huh would it help me to know when she did it i don't think so janet when you did it did it get into the newspapers yes were you happy about it yes does it involve more than one person i mean somebody beside yourself the way the secret is stated no there were other people around at the time but the secret is what she did was there anything was there any physical what pain effort extended in this yes hard for me ten dollars down seventy dollars to go mr bill column uh miscos in expending this physical effort which i assume you expended uh was one part of your body used more than the other obviously yeah uh would it help me to know what part of your body that is or was is it the same part it was is it [Music] don't think she's moved it recently i was thinking of falling aren't you this this part is it above the weight yes is it above the neck yes is it above the head [Music] is this is this your face is it a part of is it one is it a part of your face yes uh primarily is it singular as opposed to floral plural you mean her yeah it's you did with your mouth other than a sound rather than talking yeah did you kiss somebody by any child no did you bite somebody nah right well what would you do with a mouth did you eat something no did you drink something yeah and yet you didn't make a sound with your mouth no are you satisfied with middles there's thirty dollars down to fifty dollars to go [Laughter] you can't surrender you coward wow did it have anything to uh to do with breathing yes uh well may i say senator that the breathing was uh she had to be breathing while she was doing it or she wouldn't be here but she didn't have to be breathing through her mouth mom she's right then yes yes breathing was involved were you exhaling yes you were blowing yes through something yes a musical instrument no a mechanical device of some kind no forty dollars down on forty dollars to go panel each of you has one more opportunity i miss my emerson was this some kind of uh well like a bean shooter or something no oh this is a fine hollywood is there something i could do janet yes we we we assumed you could you could if you tried if you trained do you think i have done this possibly when i was your age possibly do other girls do it yes they do [Music] there's fifty dollars down and thirty dollars to go mr bill cullen it doesn't look happy at all this reminds me of the also who blew out the plane uh you actually blew through a mechanical device of some kind is that right no no we didn't say it's a mechanical device but said that she blew but we don't know whether she blew through anything uh she didn't blow through nothing did you blow onto something pardon did you blow uh on to something no around something no you have left out one possibility sixty dollars down and twenty dollars to go miss jane meadows janet did you inhale rather than breathe out yes no you definitely blew definitely exhaled [Music] and there wasn't any noise made in this blowing no did it have anything to do with extinguishing of something a light no no pam we're running out of time no no seven dollars john yes sam right um go ahead no nobody said into that now you're talking nobody said into she blew into something all right i'm finished [Applause] [Music] he just wanted to make sure everybody knew that he knew the word into it [Laughter] well panel i'm going to cut you off and let's say you have a you don't look like you have any wild ideas well the only thing i could wonder was because of some scientific test and you blew into a balloon or something no no uh some kind of uh oh did you blow into somebody's mouth or something that's great but i mean you know i'll tell a hobby we're gonna give her the complete 80 and i want you to know that this young lady for all of her tender years is the world's champion bubble gum bubble [Applause] uh janice janet how big was the bubble was the bubble that you blew in open competition 20 and a half inches 20 and a half inches i have some gum here and she has some it's going to take us a minute to talk to each other [Music] you tell me when you're ready i'll tell you why this is like chewing your way across an asphalt street gary there you go the people in the first three rows move back because when there's 20 and a half incher let's go we might empty the whole place are you ready all right you don't go far [Laughter] uh [Applause] that must have been a 15-inch or anyhow [Music] [Applause] this is perfect thank you very much why did the classics endure why do we turn oh then let's forge ahead and let's welcome our next contestant good evening sir i hate to do this but it didn't stick and i gotta find it [Music] i didn't want one of our guests to get entangled will you tell us what your name is please sir and uh where you from max suppose and i live at long beach long island max seppo is from long beach all right now remember panel twice around the penalty game is lost mr zeppos if you'll whisper you're a secret to me the folks at home would like to know what it is [Applause] i can't tell you how much i admire you all right panel to help classify this secret i will tell you it's something that he did and bill cullen i think we'll start with you on this one uh this thing that you did mr seppos uh was it uh a physical thing yes here we go again would it help me to know the part of your body that was involved uh when you did this yeah yeah were you the runner-up in this bubble-blowing contest no is it above the weight yes is it above the net yeah yes it is ten dollars down and seventy dollars to go miss jane meadows is it part of your face yes is it your mouth body time right this was just sounds you made by any chance yes would it be singing no is it a pleasant sound [Music] matter of opinion mr suppose what did you say twenty dollars down sixty dollars to go mr henry morgan was this sound a word no ah [Music] were you whistling no he was hoping it was the word into and then he could get me was it a sound you made with your vocal cord right and uh wasn't a word so were you were you yelling no low sound low embargo low in volume thirty dollars down to fifty dollars to go miss fear or something did you make this particular sound add anybody you didn't they could add anybody no did this get into the papers mr stiffer not not particularly thing i don't even got a news story have you done this many times oh yes you're doing in conjunction with some kind of uh event no and nobody else is involved with you it isn't whistling it isn't shouting it oh he didn't say we didn't say that there was no one else involved there's nobody mention else mentioned in the secret there are however other people uh inferred in the secret forty dollars down and forty dollars to go panel each of you has one more chance at mr suppose bill cullen this the sound that you made was not a word uh we we established that was it something like uh an utterance uh was it a one syllable type thing like boo no who no was this uh was this a whisper by any chance no wasn't a hiss because that's not vocal is it did you do this uh to communicate something to someone no i don't know not in the sense that she's he was trying to convey a thought there's fifty dollars down and thirty dollars to go miss jane meadows please is there mr several something unique about this sound can everybody make it or is it unique to you i most people don't make it most people can't make do most people make it i suppose would it help me to know where you do this yes it would do you do this out of doors by any chance i could you could you're more likely to do it indoors in the sense that it's mentioned in the secret it was indoors there's 60 down and 20 to go henry morgan who looks like he has an idea in his head i don't have a head is this is this sound imitative of of something that something else does ah right [Music] you make a sort of a funny noise then huh well i wouldn't call it no funny i mean like it's not like barking like living he happens to be a very accomplished violinist who was on the job and you barked as sort of a gag in rehearsal didn't you and they liked it and they kept it in now listen for those of you music how much is that dog [Music] my dog sam at home is a big fan of yours i want you to know that get ready to play by the way i did a graven just injustice to mr seppo he asked me please to when i asked me before the show he said if i win any money will you please see that it's contributed to cerebral palsy and i didn't say that but we'll certainly put the 80 bucks aside you might go and do likewise by the way you know it is time to have our panel go to work on tonight's special guest ladies and gentlemen one of the nicest guys you're ever going to meet and certainly one of the most talented mr red button good to see you red by the way red got something tonight do you have it in your pocket no i haven't well the stage hand says that i i'm not that handy i got them he came in here with the nicest looking medal that was given him by the junior achievement organization for the things that he has done for the for the kids of this country red so i'll be real proud i really am i'll bet you ariana all right now you know oh there's the medal you're that it says on the back here uh achievement award for inspiration to you presented to red buttons may 14th 1953. all right now we'll play the game precisely the way we played it before red so let's get going whisper to me what your secret is the folks over there want to know what it is [Applause] things are happening here [Music] i'll tell you only that it concerns something that he has and miss jane meadows i think we will start with you my dear something you have is this thing by any chance uh an object that you have an object yes i'd say have you had it a long time no and i won't have it for long either i don't think it won't is it small i think so [Applause] is it something that you could buy in a department store not lately does this thing belong to you red no it doesn't is it important who it does belong to very i think 10 and 70 to go mr henry morgan please you have something uh red that belongs to somebody else and you think it's important to that person will it help us to find out who the person is yes definitely um somebody in show business i'd say yes [Music] somebody in tv yes somebody in new york right now what's harmless this is new york yes somebody in this show yes henry you seem so on the verge what no it's got to be cullen it always it works out though that was an observation not a question twenty dollars down and sixty dollars to go miss bayern recently this side of the room red yes you mean your side yes yes a gentleman yes that's right mr cullen well we have to say on the rules again i don't mean i don't mean the bill is only partly a gentleman you understand what do you mean mr cullen i'd say yes partly mr and mrs collins yes definitely now wait a minute do you have you have something that's small and that you won't have very long that belongs to mr and mrs cullen could it be their child if it is i'd like to hear about it not as important as that thirty dollars down and fifty dollars to go to go we didn't establish that it was only mr cullen that's what we meant by the partly uh uh miss uh gene meadow's feed oh you're skipping bill yeah oh is it doing next i'm sorry uh how's your child i'm getting a good grand considering there isn't any i'm sorry bill that it's more important is this something that belongs to me and mrs collin is that the idea is that what we have i'd say and all fairness it belongs to you first it may belong to her a little shortly afterwards has she left town with a car uh belongs to me first is this something that i gave to her no something she took from me no not yet [Music] oh [Laughter] that was a mighty painful sounding oh ho it suddenly came over him forty dollars down to forty dollars to go with jane meadow is this a valuable object yes it's value and is it when when you say small is it uh small enough to hold in the hand yes it isn't an article of uh jewelry or clothing or anything like that no it isn't is it something that would be found in bill's house i've never been bill's house and i hope he has some some yeah he would have a lot of these would he well maybe not judging from this show i don't know fifty dollars down and three dollars to go somewhere back everybody catches on after their has gone past now one thing i want to tell you was that we have given the impression that that it involves only bill cullen that is an unfair impression you asked this bill colin we said partly uh all right now henry morgan does this have anything to do with money yes and it belongs to bill but it's gonna his wife's gonna get in the uh i hope i didn't throw you all off when i said partly because miss emerson said does it relate to that part of the room and i said yes and you started with building well no uh is this on paper is it on paper yeah definitely oh did i take it is this his salary check mr cullen has the i mean mr buttons has the uh the talon check for each of you on the panel [Music] [Applause] [Music] well let's go out right after the show before well that's all the time we have my friends for our guests and for their secrets tonight in just a moment i will tell you about the famous celebrity who will be third degreed by our panel on next week now then my friends two weeks from tonight the usual time our panel is going to do their best to uh unders uncover the secret which is being kept by one
