can you believe that there is prosecco vending machines and like all in the vineyards it's like little seats for two that's a genius [Music] hi we're danny and joe we have one-way flights book to leave the uk back in april but the world had other ideas so in may we decided to buy a van with something positive to focus on during lockdown make truly look really small after juggling between work and building our own tiny home mabel was ready to hit the road in august so we left our jobs and made a break for mainland europe we've been ticking things off our bucket list along the way but it's not all been playing salem if you want to keep up to date with our adventure hit subscribe to the notification bell it really helps our channel grow good morning it is a very exciting day it's nice and sunny out it's going to be a really nice day and one thing when we came to italy last time we came here in 2017 we didn't um go and explore any of the prosecco region and any other vineyards so that's exactly what we're doing today and i can't wait [Music] yay oh this makes me feel all funny inside [Music] i am so excited to be here i'd say i prefer prosecco to champagne probably an unpopular opinion what do you think i do like champagne yeah i was gonna say i think for champagne you've got to spend like quite a bit of money to get a nice bottle whereas prosecco is reasonably cheap and there's different types of prosecco which i didn't know until we started looking at the tours that we're going to go on today we're going on two tours today we might go on some more tomorrow we're just gonna gauge it i spent a lot of time like researching which ones we should go on so the first one we're going on um just like a little little vineyard like a family run business and the second one their prosecco is um i guess like what do you call it like a brand like they produce their premium bottles for harvey nipples yeah so their bottles are a premium for harvey nichols so it'd be quite cool to get a bottle of their actual branding rather than it being harvey harvey nicole's not sure how much it's going to be but yeah we'll find out there's like proper holiday mojo driving through here doesn't it blue skies mountain views in the background i forgot what it's like to see a blue sky [Music] [Music] coincidentally the two winemakers that caught our attention are both in the village of cole bertaldo the first winery on our trip is col de lupo a small family-run prosecco producer born in 1942 by grandfather aldo the grapes are still harvested by hand due to the steepness of the hills in this area which is the main difference between the docg a much flatter doc area but more on this later we spent time tasting the different proseccos from dry through to extra brew with food pairings of local cheeses charcuterie and mum's homemade for catcher is really nice so nice one of our favorite wines from the tasting isn't labelled as prosecco it's named after aldo and despite being made from 100 galero grapes which are previously called prosecco cold and lupo choose to just label it as sparkling white wine it's made from the second press of the grapes and undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle this leaves yeast in the bottom which have turned produces a cloudy wine in history this has always been viewed as a poor wine but today this style becoming more and more popular they even serve cloudy wine at one of the best restaurants in the world i remember that my grandfather was coming in for the land always with a bottle of dishes so that's why that's why julia was a great host and we've learned a lot from this tour we'd highly recommend it to anyone even if you're not a massive prosecco lover like me i promise you'll be converted she was very lovely she's gave us a dress for a local market and what was it so cheap like if you went on a champagne tour maybe like what a lot of money like their best ones and they like harvest it by hand as nine euros like how do you do it next up on our diy prosecco tour is sorel bronco which simply translates to bronco sisters the sisters founded the company based on their passion for wine inherited from their father and grandfather this is a slightly larger scale production and they have their own bottling plant on site one of the sisters is still heavily involved in the day-to-day operations and can even be seen here packing the bottles with her younger son [Music] our highlights of the tasting were the defeto perfetto which is like no prosecco we've ever tasted and the brute which is also sold through harvey nichols is their own brand right this is lovely stuff this is sick look at yours then that's not even yeah yours is higher still lovely cheers cheers the docg area was promoted to unesco world heritage site in 2019 which is shown in yellow on this map we didn't think prosecco could get any more special than the wineries we visited but we learned of a mystical area called cartese aka the golden pentagon which is a tiny area with a very particular microclimate so there's only one thing for it another tour we chose brabuli located in the cartese area another family-run winemaker started by the grandfather i cannot describe how great the cartesi tasted it's something you have to try for yourself so we're buying two of these [Music] and the first uh winery we went to the lady gave us a list of things that we should do and see and apparently there's like a vending machine for prosecco so we definitely this is cute 15 or 17. these are got lemon earrings lemonade lemon earrings can you believe that there is prosecco vending machines and like all in the vineyards it's like little seats for two so we have got a bottle of prosecco nibbles for how much that's quite good 20 20 20 euros and we got the little glasses and now we're gonna go find a really cute little spot in the vineyard to drink it i'd like to be able to see a view so cute honestly wow i just fell over yeah oh god so this is what we'll be doing for the rest of the day don't mind us what a dream this is where i'll be spending the rest of the day you'd never find it if you didn't get recommendations no that's so nice so this is the actual winery's own wine but they had lots of others and me it's nice honestly the views though they just got these little perch seats like in between all the vines what cool concept [Music] i think this is the coolest thing we've ever done what an amazing concept i mean god if we missed this and then found out about that yeah he's just gone and got us some food i think let's see what she's got someone's had a bottle of prosecco how much is all that fine nice not too bad is that bread yeah oh my gosh [Music] my breath now might run back get some jumpers in a minute we're just in the shade cold get your knife out tell me about the goods so we've got some local cheese it's named after the river that we've been crossed a couple of times by a pierre river and then it's vicki which means it's been eight for at least 180 days very nice quite sharp it's not like a heart it's a mix between cheddar and parmesan yeah yeah probably actually nice and then slimy of some sort really naughty but lush go for bread second bottle nearly gone oh wow please stop there's an egg there do you get another bottle of tea how much was that 20. you spent 20 euros wow so this is from the golden pentagon wow three bottles in magnum you can actually park within the vineyard [Laughter] look at the sunset how beautiful have you ever seen anything like that you know what makes me feel or want a glass of wine morning good morning of course a bit right here um yeah we had a really nice night last night a few too many bottles of prosecco uh i'm fresh there yeah yeah i don't feel too bad i fell asleep at half past eight um we're heading into the production capital it's like town of prosecco um i can't remember what it's called they have a sunday market yeah the sunday market so we're gonna head there get a bit of breakfast coffee and then catch ups we really need to upload the video like two days late no one's asked us though so i don't think anyone cares welcome to valdo bedande dandy oh the lady did write that bit down actually for us should we listen so we got some peppers and some mini courgettes but you really can't ever really find them at home unless you go to like a yeah a market or something so yeah have some nice fresh pasta a little bit later we left valdo biedene and drove the prosecco road which connects valdo to the other capital conegliano [Applause] [Music] good morning from conegliano which is the other capital of the prosecco region it's a bit bigger than waldo bedande that's so pronounced which is the other place which is the production capital um this place conegliano has got the first wine school or uni in in italy i think in europe as well was it i think that's what she said nice nice little spot oh so we just went into a little cafe and we asked for two take away like quest ones that you'll see in a second we thought like it came in this we asked from take away so they're really posh we're thinking like maybe eight euros into 280. two years eight for two queens look at them for breakfast nice where'd you fresh croissants they look good bird's gonna love you [Music] so [Music] i'd love to go on one of them if you take anything from this video we highly recommend looking out for docg on your bottle of prosecco this guarantees the wines from the original prosecco region the extended doc area was implemented when prosecco boomed and winemakers struggled to keep up with the demand by buying from docg you are more likely to be supporting smaller family businesses rather than large corporate companies bye we love prosecco bye
