syracuse now moved up and you know gordon that tight team battle virginia syracuse iona just all within 23 points of each other furman in the mix maybe that's the team to turn the rankings if they they're not even in our top 25 wisconsin back down at 11. stanford out in eight so that's morgan mcdonald who's leading for wisconsin star high school standouts now with wisconsin so virginia look looking to duplicate what arkansas did in the women's race 125 points with syracuse the defending champ here but it is close among those top three that's really the separation right there iona syracuse and virginia kind of still kind of all virtually tied here at 4k and we've got one from florida state now into the lead mcgorty and two from tulsa still part of things but there's some bumping there's some shoving you've got jacob burcham actually a really good position in the lead from oklahoma two from iona there in the group and things are starting to string out just a bit but i can see you can see the the stripes with the white in the middle of furman so there's in that shot right there there's four from furman so this furman's having a breakout party right now as they're into the second half of this race so we'll see how they execute uh with the rolling sections on the back part of the course but furman fourth place through 4k and about now they say enter the woods right here they're hitting three miles they're at the three mile marker as they enter back into the woods we'll have a brief um dead zone as they enter that short wood period and then they'll be coming up on their 5k split but you see the back end of the field coming through and and if you look at the 4k splits look at those times like and and that's going to start to open up but it it just hasn't broken apart yet so burcham mcgordy still right up there i can see garrett sweet from from arkansas on the or from uh stanford on the outside and viscosity from virginia among the leaders trying to see if i can see there's justin knight kind of hiding in the middle sitting right there right next to uh mcgourty the senior from byu aaron fletcher right there on the right side of the pack on the near side of the pack this is still a race i mean no one has hit that 5k mark in about 15 15. that is very conservative very conservative but no team has really shown that they're going to win this so far yeah it's still anyone's race right now still up in the air and even individually i mean all the big games are still there no one is really trying to make a move across the front we're on the ladies side we saw a break away we saw it go to 15 then to five and a three so early on yeah i mean we're 15 minutes into this race and there's a pack of 50. so there's mark scott looks like that's an eku athlete eku this is a big me for them they need to get their points here that's eric freshman freshman eku they didn't get their points that they needed at louisville so this is the point where they need to finish in that top 10 kind of feel secure going into regionals that's morgan mcdonald continuing to lead as we go back into the woods area again we'll show you the map again they're now on the they're on the yellow line right now as they're coming back in this back woods for the second time and as they come out they'll do a little loop around and they'll hit 6k right here so back in this woods area again team scores is still wide open we saw those top three teams in virginia iona and syracuse all within a couple points of each other but as soon as we get to the 6k we will get another split and maybe we'll see some uh some team shifting going there we'll kind of see really who has it in that last 2k but i've heard that the last 2k here on this course is faster definitely the splits have been in previous years have been very fast i don't want to say there's no merit to the team scores but what we've seen i expect that to completely change you know and not not only who's there but but then the point totals i mean they're they're going to change dramatically as as the race material when you have 30 plus teams in here and such a big pack it's all just inches that changes a point from 1 to 30. so nobody's allowed to get too nervous too excited or you can't throw a clipboard yet you know my clip were thrown but there's looks like they're picking up they come down to downhill as they wrap around that woods area as we're going to be coming up on our 6k mark and there it looks like they're starting to push and gordon who's coming up right there on the outside ucla and and now you see justin knight working his way to the front he's on jacob burcham's shoulder he'll be on the right side of your screen syracuse looking good it's colin benny i think so two from syracuse up front i'm sure martin hair hurts somewhere in that mix as well so syracuse looking strong mcgourty's still right there two from iona two from wisconsin tulsa and it looks like is that who i think it is it is trent lazigan the south dakota state standout he was all-american in 2013. red shirted all of 2014 got injured and uh he is now in the lead so now south dakota state there there's the guy to break the race open he is we needed someone to do it he decided to do it and the leaders are now pushing it let's see half minutes into this race so wisconsin here the 6k split had second and third place mcgorty and fourth knight and syracuse with the low sticks through 6k 47 points in michigan iona byu look at those low numbers yeah so the race is definitely now opened up michigan up there so syracuse michigan iona and byu gordon you reported that ucla needed to do something and get some points here yeah and they're currently in seventh place points did change it wasn't that low it looks like syracuse actually has 81 in michigan 131 so virginia in fifth furman in sixth place stanford still at that 300 points boise state running strong north carolina state so but iona gordon you talked about them earlier that this might be the time for them to make a statement and they're currently sitting in fourth at 6k and now this is completely you know this this race has been blown apart and you got knight up front you're at the adidas meet a year ago justin so as expected three at the top three ranked athletes the leader knight and mcgorty sitting there in the top four this is syracuse race to lose they're up by 60 points with 4k to go yeah they ran a conservative race early slowly moved up now you got that pack of 10 with the south dakota state jackrabbit in the mix right behind knight mason furlock's still in the back still saying strong up in there but it's gonna be interesting who's gonna take this i really see this mcgordy versus knight they both got that speed they both run 340 339 washington man he's a cross country star he finished 10th last year so he is no joke he's on his home course he knows the turns the ups and the downs of this course york's also up in there as well the miler so don't keep don't think him out but look at syracuse this is like the new mexico version having three in that top seven that's impressive so is this gonna be the battle of the milers here with four minutes left and roughly in this three four minutes left in this race it looks like it with malachi kind of showing up 10k man and you got with york on the back of that pack that's dangerous man if he gets himself into position with 600 to go he might be able to kick him down as well so they're doing that snake on the interior of the course now and you can see our leader still a tight pack and mcgordy has just been cruising so the official team score for syracuse at 6k was 106. they had about a 60-point lead over michigan and ayano and byu are third and fourth and conferman close the deal here york's is up there man we saw his uh teammate aaron nelson finish the top three here last year this would be an impressive race for the miler if he's able to finish his through chart miller also a four flat miler as well for iona so this is going to be a kicker's race when it comes down to it martin here heard also now making a move syracuse is being picked up looks like they're sitting 1-2 right now we're gonna see one two three syracuse that'll be impressive of washington so coming up on 22 minutes syracuse now with three in the top ten syracuse is letting colorado know they're coming gorgeous that's what this is and you got to give it up for colin benny he is staying up there with these top guys people think of syracuse they think of knight and herrera but he got now introduced benny to that mix as he is going head-to-head with these top guys mason kind of fall off a bit now as well you know and if if i'm if i'm mcgorty you push now with york's right there sitting in fourth place yeah you gotta get away from [Music] it looks like from this angle we're down to about five now they're in the front mcgordy now falling off syracuse now one two new york's up in the mix malachi's still trying to stay strong mark scott kind of falling off some noise if you're gonna be cool syracuse down the whole stretch can syracuse pull us off but look out for york's yorks and mccordy i'm gonna take down the syracuse duo did syracuse go one two can't tell from this angle looks like that's not mcgordy and knight justin but look out for mark scott of tulsa the tulsa man is coming strong he's gonna hello mark scott you are the wisconsin adidas cross country potato champion and syracuse goes two four seven syracuse with an impressive team right there iona gets their number one stick in but give it up for mark scott of tulsa with that late next got a breaking back kick of the week early here in october mark scott individual champion flat and he's putting three in the top 10 impressive syracuse wisconsin leads the badgers he was fifth overall coming in but it looks like washington sharp miller of iona oklahoma got 11 and 12 furlough falling back to the third round morgan mcdonald michael bernard he ran well at uh roy grieck in syracuse that that time's not official we gotta wait for the official who's only have 65 runners scored but syracuse looks to be the unofficial winners as the scores are slowly being tabulated expect those or to change but putting three in the top ten i think is gonna give you
