hello everyone and welcome to another video now we're always talking about cheap parts here on this channel but what about one of the cheapest parts today we're looking at the cheapest PC case money can buy here in the UK priced at just £119.99 this is the Aero cor cs14 let's open it up and see what we're dealing with here now if we take a look at the box we have the specs printed right on here this is the mini tower case in black it supports Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards it also has support for DVD drive as well and according to the Box supports gpus up to 286 mm and CPUs or CPU coers up to 167 please excuse the dog here just begging for some attention it would seem so let's crack open this AO call see what we've got and talk about my experience building in this thing as I said at the start we're always talking about cheap comp components and one great way to save money is by buying a less expensive case the cheapest case though is that a good idea so nothing fancy inside the box we have the case itself the AO cool logo on the front here packed between two pieces of poyene taking it out of the case and I'm pretty pleased with how this looks I do like a plain case not a big fan of RGB though it is certainly growing on me at the front we can see we do have some vents here to allow for airflow if we have a front mounted fan for example up top we have a power button reset button USB 3 USB 2 and a couple of audio ports here there does seem to be support for DVD drive but we'll get on to that later around the back we have a top mounted PSU and an included 120 mm fan which is nice to see we'll see just how loud that is a little later on in the video the first thing I noticed was this instruction booklet which comes with a few installation instructions which is always nice you know not all cases come with this even the more expensive ones it also tells us what's in the bag of screws and has a few pin header diagrams too now let's open up the side panel here by undoing the thumb screws there doesn't seem to be any sort of slide to the side panel here the case side just plops off as you saw there it doesn't slide in and out of place inside we can see that 120 mm Arrow cool fan a bag of accessories is tied to the front panel cables here I've not seen a Molex fan power connector in a while alternatively we do have a three pin connector too yeah been a long time since I've seen a fan support two connections like that as we can see here nothing fancy going on at the front we can remove the front to install a couple of fans according to the website we can also install a radiator here for a CPU liquid cooler we have four standoffs for the motherboard in place already with holes drilled for others of course and we'll likely have to make use of those these four in place are there for an ITX board but we'll be using microatx today now the front of the case lifts off like so thanks to the Gap underneath and here we can see the support for fans as well as the removable part of the case uh in case we want to use a DVD drive as well there's more ventilation at the bottom here as you can see it comes apart pretty easily the front panel Clips off and two side panels come and done as well both of those just sort of pop off it's a pretty basic looking case but it's exactly the sort of thing that I like to use when I'm putting together a basic budget build nothing Posh just practical over anything I'll show you what I mean about the side panel it's pretty hard to do with one hand but it doesn't sort of slide back into place you just have to sit it against the frame and then screw the thumb screws back in that might be handy if we run some cables behind here actually we can just use a bit more Force to close it up again it looks like there's some room left between the side panel and the frame of the case so we should be able to squeeze a couple of cables down here but I'll build a system in here and see what we're dealing with now all in all this case comes in at a weight of Just5 or 2.2 2.3 kg here it doesn't feel heavy at all you can lift this up with one hand and swing it about if you wanted to Straight Out of the Box don't know why you would but it's I'm just trying to convey how light this thing is unlike some of the older cheap cases that we used to get on the market though there's no horrible sharp edges here I haven't touched any part of it and then cut my hand open immediately like uh you may have done a few years ago with different cases I certainly did anyway so as you can see I've put together a cheap I5 8400 PC inside this case using a Micro ATX board ATX PSU we haven't got the graphics card in here yet but you can see everything fits in here pretty nicely I did run a few cables around the back here namely the power cable and the two graphics card PCI cables I was able to get the side panel on easily just by pushing it and closing it so there's definitely room to run a few cables back here and of course my cable management isn't the best out there I'll happily admit now in order to install a graphics card in here we have to undo this single screw here and then this part just sort of flops down there's no removable blanking plates we sort of have to push these out of place I'll show you I like to wiggle them until they come loose which takes a few seconds but once they're out we can just discard these it's always a good idea to know how your graphics card is going to line up though before you remove any of these as you can see we have the two slots I need in order to install my graphics card of choice today this is in fact the gtx980 now this probably pushes the limits of how long we can go with a GPU we do have a few cenm a couple of cenm left to spare here I was able to plug in the two six pin connectors pretty easily I think it looks quite neat actually of course the fan sits the other side of this mesh so there's not going to be an issue with getting a front fan in here if we want to there's also a couple of inches beneath the GPU as well so I'm hoping it should stay fairly cool in here it's not too cramped at allall we also have room for an old school 3.5 in hard drive as well as a couple of 2.5 in s SDS which is Handy if you're not using an m.2 Drive compatible motherboard now one of the complaints about this case was that an ATX PSU along with a 5.25 in DVD drive uh meant things were pretty cramped from the reviews I did read people were saying that the DVD drive comes pretty close to the ATX PSU when both are installed in the system I can either verify or deny a claim like this I don't have a DVD drive I haven't had one or used one for must be a few years now what I did look at though was whether or not a 240 MIM liquid cooler fit in here and as you can see it sat up against the front nicely here I'm pretty sure if you have the budget for a liquid cooler though you're probably looking at slightly higher priced cases but I wanted to check this out anyway the way I've configured the radiator here you're going to want a shter graphics card that's for sure but if you put the fans on the outside that'll give you a bit more space on the other side of that mesh as it is this configuration with the fans on the inside like this it's going to be fun with those shorter and low profile cards that's for sure I fired it up and found that all the ports were working as expected which is a good start of course let's get an idea of fan noise now that rear fan is a lot quieter than I expected in fact we can hear the CPU stock caller over this fan I spent the day playing a few games going about my usual business with this combo within this case there were no overheating problems the air flow seemed fine it could certainly do with another front mounted fan you know if you haven't got a radiator in there which you probably won't have uh in a case of this price point to be honest um but yeah another front fan wouldn't go a Miss just for the sake of air flow anyway but as it was things were absolutely fine no high temperatures nothing out of the ordinary for the CPU or GPU to be honest even with the side panel on now all in all sure there are better cases out there um in fact if you spend 10 to20 more on a same brand case something from aerocore then you may get something with a side panel and RGB fans maybe even something with a bottom mounted PSU as well but if you want the absolute cheapest of the cheap you're on a tight budget and you're looking for a case that's going to be okay honestly for £20 maybe you've got a bunch of olda or cheaper components you don't want to spend too much then this is honestly going to be fine and that's all there is to to it really but I hope you've enjoyed this one let me know what you think of this case and whether or not you actually use one thanks for watching and I'll see you next time
