Ipsy Glam Bag X vs BoxyCharm May 2021

hey guys welcome back if you're new here thanks for stopping by my name is shannon pippen i do hippie pippi reviews we do unboxings makeup looks all sorts of things on here today i had a really awesome mail day um i had both my boxycharm and my ipsy glambag x show up on the same day so i'm gonna be unboxing both of those seeing which one's better which one was worth it um the ipsy is the ipsy glenn back x that's their quarterly upgrade um i'll leave some info below about that but it's a little bit extra cost over top of like the ipsy glam bag or the glam bag plus but it has a lot more products and it's sponsored by a different celebrity each time the first time was patricktaw and this time is khloe kardashian so it's supposed to be a selection of their favorite products it's supposed to be like uber luxe uber prestigious brands so really excited to see what's in there and i also of course got my boxy charm for may so really excited for that um if you're interested in unboxings if you love makeup hauls definitely stick around okay so the first one we're going to be unboxing is my foxy charm and this is the one for may of 2021 so really excited to see this um there have been some spoilers and of course we got to pick one of the products but honestly at this point i don't really even remember which one i picked so it's gonna be a surprise to you and i both oh and actually i do remember this is my choice it's the murad environmental shield city skin overnight detox moisturizer so love murad love their products and of course this looks like a really great one and let's see what else is in here um i've got a product from skin ink supplement bar this is my daily dose serum cocktail it's for smoothing and lifting and it looks really nice i love a good serum and see we've also got the tristique brow pencil plus brow gel in mocha can never have enough brow products um i haven't been a huge fan of tristique in the past but i've never tried any other brow products i wasn't super impressed with their mascara but we'll give this one a shot and see if it's good and next we have a hydrating hybrid two in one lipstick bong from sofia and mabel i have never heard of them but that looks interesting i love lip products so we'll see if that is any good i'm curious if it has like any kind of color to it i'm gonna go ahead and open that and yeah it definitely has a color to it oh my gosh that's really dark well i guess it's not super duper dark but darker than what i usually wear but i really like that it's kind of like that nudey like red look i think that'll work really well that's pretty i like the packaging too that's cute it's very reminiscent of like 90s lip balms so let's see our last product in the boxy charm is this it is from cab cosmetics uh the day and night palettes i've never tried anything from cap cosmetics so i'm really curious if this is going to be good quality usually the products boxycharm includes are really great quality i've never really been super disappointed in any product that i've had through them so i bet this will be pretty awesome oh i love the colors it's got like a lot of purples and a lot of nudes which are right up my alley this kind of reminds me of like one of the huda palettes i wonder if it has like good quality which is watching just like a couple here i'm gonna go in on midnight and twinkle twinkle and we'll see how those show up we've got them right here and uh definitely it doesn't have the pigmentation of huda's palettes but it does have a nice tone and like a really pretty sparkling sheen to it so i'll give it a shot play around with it a little bit maybe with a primer it'll show up a little bit more but yeah that was the may 2021 um boxy charm and let's see um the miura retails for 74. um the cap cosmetics is 52. i'm not sure if that palette is worth 52. um for 52 you can get a huda palette like legit huda palette and it has a lot better color payoff just like even without primer so i'm not sure that retail value is necessarily worth it for that one but like i said i will play with it and give it a shot and hopefully it plays a little bit better on the eye than on just like the swipe on the hand because sometimes eyeshadows really surprise you they'll play entirely different on a swatch versus actually on the eye so i will definitely still give that one a shot but not impressed with that price point um next the skin ink that was that serum that i was showing you that is 50 or sorry 65 i know that's a really luxe brand um higher in on the serum um price point for sure but hopefully that's really good i've heard amazing things about it so let's see this tristique was 26. and the sofia and maybelle was 15 so really reasonable for the libby i think um overall um i will add it below and just kind of show you over here how much that was total um not great with math so i'm not doing that in my head but i'll add it in later um and next we will move on to the ipsy glam bag x i'm really excited about this one um i loved my last slam bag x it had so many good products in it and hopefully this one does too i'm sure it will i know everybody was super disappointed because they really heavily advertised the charlotte tilbury magic cream super excited about that they made it kind of seem like that or um oh there was two products that they were heavily advertising but they were kind of hinting that like everybody would have that in their box and so far i'm not seeing very many people with the charlotte tilbury magic cream in it so we'll kind of see like how that plays out i know with the first glambag x it was like everybody got really great quality products but i'm starting to wonder if like it's gonna start leaning more towards the other subscription boxes where if you're an influencer with a super big following or something that you're getting like a little bit extra and stuff because we've all seen how that plays out so hopefully glen bagx doesn't go that route because i have a feeling it probably won't stick around for very long if it does but anyways let's get into it so the first product oh well not really the first product i see but they have their ipsy glambag x newsletter that they have here the last one is really close really informative they had a lot of great information on like how to use the products some information behind the products so i really like that i kind of wish that they included that type of product or that type of like newsletter thing with all their levels i think it's a really great idea to just get people that might not be super experienced with makeup a little bit more info behind the product so they know how to use it they know what kind of skin it's going to be good for um those kind of things so let's get into the actual products the first one i see i'm super excited about it is a copari cbd recovery balm and i did get to pick this one and absolutely love cbd balms they are so great for if you get sore muscles and i have eds ehlers-danlos syndrome so i am sore pretty much every day so these kind of products are really really helpful i love a natural alternative to try to help like relieve the pain soreness and stiffness and i can't wait to give this one a shot it looks like a really great quality one and let's see and next we've got a 111 skin um oh this is an add-on this is the y serum day cream knack y2 i think is how you say it but super bougie cream but it was heavily heavily discounted and i wanted to try it out and i've gotten a lot of the 111 skin products before and their serums are great i wanted to give their moisturizer a shot and i figured there's no way i was ever going to buy it like actual retail price so it was on sale for i think 25 in the add-on sale so i scooped that up pretty quick because it was normally oh gosh i can't remember how much it was but i will leave that information over here and this was actually one of the ones that ipsy picked for me this is the 111 skin rose gold razi rose gold radiance booster so yeah there is what the box looks like really excited about this one i love their um their sports booster and their skin blemish booster the ones that i have already and they are great so here is the container that is super pretty i love the rose gold obviously love pink so this is right up my alley and hopefully it works great i'm sure it will their products are so good and next we have a product from herbivore and this is a like peel type mask so it's supposed to be aha and bha acids and love some ajs and bhas they're great for relieving like small fine lines and acne um just kind of giving a good radiance to the skin because it helps shed that outer layer of skin so here is what that looks like that is so pretty it's like crystally and pink and so cute i love it i am obsessed with it already just the packaging is really really cute oh my gosh yes yes yes yes super excited about this one okay so next let's see oh we have another product that i've heard is an absolute holy grail i just bleached my hair here recently so i can't wait to actually give this a try um it is the oviplex number zero it's their intensive hair bond building hair treatment so you use this and it's supposed to actually help repair the hair and spawns and leave you with healthier stronger hair and this has such a cult following i have heard so many good things about olaplex's products and i am just so excited that it was included in the box so far this is shaping up to be really really good i know a lot of people were disappointed about the charlotte tilbury cream but guys this is some really good stuff and like the herbivore product also fantastic so next we have another product that i love mac lashes um not really a huge fan of fake lashes normally just like falsies they don't work for me they're really uncomfortable but mac lashes are something else they always fit really comfortably they always look great and natural i love them and i can't remember which ones these were i've had a couple different styles of the mac lashes and there hasn't been a single size style yet that i haven't liked they are all so good so it looks like this is the number 80 romantic lash so you can take a look at those those are so pretty i may cut them down a little bit to help fit a little bit better but like i said the mac lashes if you don't like lashes give these a try because they just they're so light and they don't have like that itchy texture to them like they are not drugstore lashes they are so much better but anyways i'm gonna stop ranting about that but next we have a product from anastasia beverly hills love hers so this is the brow pen and of course love brow products um this is see what shade is this this is soft brown so i of course her brow products are iconic the brow freeze is one of my absolute holy grails i've been using that like every time i do my makeup i'm wearing it right now i love it so i think this will work really well with the brow freeze and to help add some actual color back into the brows because of course the brow freeze is completely clear so while it's really good at keeping the brow in place it doesn't actually add any color or definition to the brow so i will be looking forward to using that for sure and oh this is one of my add-ons this is the olaplex hair perfector number three it is their hair mask so hopefully using this along with the bonding treatment is going to just like make my hair feel awesome which i'm really looking forward to so fingers crossed and let's see next we have oh this is another add-on this is from a eureka this is the euphoric perfume stick so yeah i saw that on the add-on sale and i really love solid perfumes for keeping in my purse because you don't have to worry about them spilling so really excited about this i love scents like perfume is definitely like one of my big weaknesses oh this is so pretty look at that i love the really like clear crystally packaging that is so pretty oh that smells really really good it smells like walking into like a salon like really really good hair care products i really really like that i will definitely be using that a lot and let's see we have got two more products in here next to last is a mac lipstick which of course mac iconic lipsticks like they can do no wrong when it comes to lipstick and oh gosh this is a pretty package too i love this it's got like that pink ombre look about it like it's really pretty they are so luxe and there is the color a little bit darker than what i normally wear but a really pretty nude kind of a little bit of a rose to it too like kind of a nude mauvy it seems like that color is like super popular right now i know that the 90s are coming back and everything but like you see that color everywhere i guess i'm kind of wearing a variation of it right now but this one's like a lot lighter this is the c sugar rush sugar coat and yeah this one's like a little bit lighter i think then the two that ipsy and boxy added in so let's kind of compare the two so this is the one on top that i'm wearing right now and this is the mac lipstick that they included so i think it's going to be a little bit darker but still a very wearable and pretty shade so our last product with the ipsy glam bag x sorry to get off track with you guys i know there's so many products i actually need to stay focused because this is turning into a really long video um next is the one size patrick starr visionary eyeshadow palettes so this looks really awesome i saw the previews and the pictures online and it looked really pretty so oh that is interesting i love the way it's kind of like off a little bit so it's easy to open like i don't know if you can see that but yeah it's kind of like tilted to the side a little bit that is cute so here are the colors this over top so you don't get blinded by the mirror so really pretty variety i love these like nudie gold shades and it looks like we've got a really gorgeous green duo here one with shimmer and one matte and i'm not really a huge fan of the blue shadows i don't wear them too often occasionally i'll do like my under eye with a bright blue just to kind of like add some contrast to a look but we've got a really deep blue here so that looks really pretty this one here in the middle i don't know if the camera is picking it up good or not but oh my gosh that's shimmer it's called everything and yes that looks like everything so i'm going to swatch just a couple of these i'm going to swatch everything this one here in the middle and let's go all of it the one right next to it so oh gosh it yeah these are really soft and creamy like this picked up a ton of color just like barely touching it so we'll swipe those right there oh my gosh yes i am going to love playing in that palette that has beautiful color payoff definitely love it so guys that was the may ipsy glenn back x and the may foxy charm box so let me know what you thought in the comments below um personally i think ipsy glambags won this one out not really sure if it's a fair contest or not because of course it's about double the price of the standard boxy so playing a little unfair but ipsy glamback x nailed it this month like these products were on point a little disciplined about the charlotte tilbury magic cream because it's such an iconic product but there are so many good inclusions that i can't be really too mad about it so let me know what you thought
