IPSY GLAM BAG X PATRICK TA - is it worth $55, drama w/ choice, & luxury brands?

so i'm sitting here looking at my window getting ready for another video when i saw the mail carrier show up and put in a beautiful purple box ran outside grabbed it and it is my glam bag x and i am so damn excited i have been talking about this box now for this will be month three and it's the first month that it ever was it is a quarterly upgrade much like boxy lux or i think ipsy did like an ultimate situation for a little bit there it's a quarterly upgrade into a much more luxurious box but you do have to be a current ipsy subscriber in order to upgrade to the glambags if you get your regular glam bag it's 12 a month this upgrade it's 55 a month so that month you would pay 55 not get your regular glam bag you would get the glam bag x instead um same kind of goes for a glam bag plus if you get that which is 25 a month then you would pay 55 you wouldn't get your glam bag plus you would get the glam bag x if you get both the glam bag and the glam bag plus are going to upgrade your glam bag plus so you'll get that 55 charge and then you'll also see the 12 charge i hope that made sense i apologize if it was hella confusing um this is quarterly so uh february next one will be march april may i'm kind of curious who else they're going to collab with i just i feel like the influencers the makeup artists the makeup brands and stuff they just know so much about makeup that they know to put the most amazing things in here so this is by patrick top we have a little magazine in here it looks like it's going to tell us all about all the products that were in here the different variations that they used how patrick taught would suggest using each of the products which is really cool because i know there were definitely variations because of the ultra personalization so we'll kind of see what those differences were as well right off the top here we have a pack of a scrunchies these are by kitsch llc or my kitsch it looks like and they are all like just tones of pink isn't this like just a beautiful color palette for decorating a room these two are velvety but these three are suede these are really cute though it would look super cute just on your wrist and then next up we have something by complex culture by the way i was not able to ultra personalize my my box my bag my box um i don't know if anybody else had the same problems as me but i was so so so so frustrated i did watch abidab's video and oh that has no tape on it um and she had a very similar experience so what happened to me was i went on to the site on like the second or the third of the month is when you do your personalization and then they start to build your bag shortly after so you only have those two two full days to do it 48 hour window so i went in and i was able to make my choice for my regular glam bag and then it wouldn't let me into glam bag plus or glam bag x which is understandable why i couldn't do it for glam bag plus because it upgraded me to the glam bag x but every single time that i log on to the site and try to click on it it would give me a an error message that said to try refreshing the page i did it from my computer i cleared all my cookies and cash and history and all of that stuff and that didn't work so then i went onto my phone and i tried doing it via the app that didn't work i tried doing it from the web browser on my phone that didn't work i grabbed my husband's tablet that has never been logged into ipsy anything and it still didn't work and i've never been onto the ipsy site on that tablet at all super frustrated i emailed them said i would get a response in 24 hours i did not i email i replied to that email and never heard back so then just the other day i decided to reach out to them again and say hey this kind of sucks i didn't get to ultra personalize something that i paid 55 for which is a really big deal so they did reply to me and they said we're so sorry i guess it did happen to a lot of people they gave me 600 points which to be honest don't really care about the points and then this person specifically said they'd be happy to walk me through personalization come march 2nd for my glam bag plus and i graciously accepted that i don't know what that's going to look like clearly we're not there yet i don't know i don't know it was super frustrating so i did want i would have probably picked anything by complex culture i probably should say this itself though is something this is almost identical does it vibrate okay i should read the instructions i was at um my aesthetics place it's called this vixen aesthetics the doctor had one of these it's a vibrating tool i don't really understand it relax you got this our sonic powered tool delivers a modern facial massage to increase your blood flow reduce puffiness relieve facial tension and help tone facial contours give yourself the daily luxury of an at-home massage to temporarily smooth and sculpt your skin requires one double a battery that's not included i need that i suppose i cannot figure out how to get it open though to change the battery turn the knob counter clockwise to open and replace and i am like i am turning this damn thing counterclockwise and like pulling and i cannot get it out of there holy that took a lot of effort a lot more effort than it should hold on i think i have a battery i do not keep batteries in my nightstands for those reasons i keep them in there for the remote controls okay okay i'll be honest this is not the most well made product the um aluminum tube in the threading of this end just they don't they don't go well into one another um i don't know what it's supposed to do but it kind of does feel nice and they did have it as a professional tool at not the specific not complex culture but like a sonic t-bar um as a tool at the aesthetics place so i'm guessing outdoor shopping so patrick does have a tip on this and he says that it is best to use this to uh work in some skincare before you put in your makeup so starting with a good base is um key i guess to flawless makeup we will give that a try next up is something from huda beauty so this is something that everybody was receiving um one of the patrick toss selected items and this is the rose gold remastered palette i'm really excited about this that's cute it matches the top um which is actually adorable because it matches the whole like valentine's day um romantic you know february kind of vibes nice big mirror um these colors are gorgeous absolutely beautiful romantic in every way we have a lot of um they're baked shimmer kind of shadows which tend to i think do a little divot in the bottom because of the way in which they're like pressed and then baked but then we have a ton of mattes in here as well it's a good 50 50 palette honestly because this entire top row shimmer and half of the center row and then the other half of the center row is matte and the entire bottom row is matte so let's do some of this i'm going to dip in sandalwood as just a base color to kind of get on and my face just feels so naked i don't i need to put on like blush and bronzer and everything then i'm gonna go in to coco and put that on just like the outer corner and blend it into my crease a little bit okay honestly these are blending like a freaking dream i'm barely touching i feel like the color just goes on so well i've only ever tried the nine pan palettes i did like those um but i've never splurged on like a whole huda beauty palette to be honest it's because i don't need any more makeup i don't know i gotta swatch some of these because i just don't know how to feel about them they all feel completely different bubbly super duper smooth and satiny moon dust almost a little bit dusty blessed kind of sticky um i was not expecting there to be such a texture difference between all three they all go on relatively similar this moon dust shade though it picked up quite a bit bless does feel tacky like even on the skin it feels kind of tacky i think that's gonna be the one that goes best though i'm gonna go into bubbly because that one was oh was that one the most bright no that was moon dust moon dust which also does have kick up they are definitely all different formulas put that in the middle i'm gonna take sandalwood and put that under because i feel like yeah it's gonna be a lot darker it does also have this black in here which i am a sucker for black eyeshadow liner so i'm just gonna pop that on real quick as my liner okay that's the palette i do really like it every single color blended out amazingly the black was super duper pigmented so it worked out great as an eyeliner um i can see doing just an absolute ton of looks out of this because of all of the different tones of shimmers some duochromes in here the different tones of mask that they have in here so it's really easy to make a neutral everyday look but i think that you really could make something that would pop as well so i'm really excited that i got this all right next up i want this blue bag of something this is a brush no mascara this is by pat mcgrath labs and this is the fetish eyes mascara oh please be floppy please be fluffy oh my gosh i can't get any packaging open today ah yes okay so it's mostly the type of one that i love it is fluffy but i do like them like rounded fluffy i'm being so specific but you know what this is pat mcgrath we're gonna do mascara real quick this mascara is beyond fantastic i do really love it it's worth every cent of the thirty dollars and it is definitely known as a cult classic and i do really like it um i will admit though that it is kind of messy it's so inky and wet at first that like you have to be really careful that you don't accidentally touch your lashes or your brush to your eyelid or crease area at all i did so i had to get some of it off i just used a little spoolie to clear off um what i messed up but like i would really suggest when you're putting it on to like look straight down and to do it outward that way you don't risk you know like getting it transferring it up there next up we have something in here from about face and this is halsey's new brand and i haven't i haven't tried anything from this brand yet this is the shade called endurance and it says it's a flexible long-lasting matte liquid lip with a powerful pigment load that swipes on with one stroke enduring and intense coverage delivered peppermint infused vegan cruelty free gluten phthalate paraben and synthetic free okay it does smell like peppermint okay so there is the wand love it it's that teardrop doe foot that um does really work really well on lining i probably should line first get out my good old colourpop pencil cup what color is going to match best this one kind of looks like it no let's try this one it's a little light this shade is the closest this is called hoopty isn't that not a great term [Music] it went on super easy this is one layer it's it works well it works very swell um on the back of my hand it does transfer a little bit like it doesn't dry down totally totally matte like it's a comfort mat formula maybe somewhat similar to like lunar beauty's matte liquid lips next up we have rnco teacup p jolene and kombucha detox rinse which is something that i really really wanted i think this box is probably what i would have selected anyhow this one's also gluten-free vegan uv protection r co amazing hair brand i've beyond loved everything that i've tried from this but it says detox relaxes light conditioning rinse removes harsh metals and pollutants from your hair helps prevent color fade out and nourishes dry strands hair is left smooth sealed and protected okay i'm excited to give that a try and then we have another thing in here and this is by saints and sinners and this is called illuminati divine shine holographic serum and i think this is also for hair brilliant reflective illumination in a holographic treatment serum ideal for all hair types iridescent humidity resistant shine fused with protective botanicals prickly pear agave jojoba olive and coconut oil thermal and environmental protectionist smooth frizz protects color with an incandescent shine that is truly divine oh my god it does actually have like shimmery sparkles in it that is thick i don't know about this i don't know that's probably too much we're gonna go with that much i feel like that was still too much and then i think these last two things go together this is from patrick taught and i think this is a brush oh my god i'm in love with this it doesn't it doesn't even make any sense maximize the shape of your brows with this innovative defining wax strong yet flexible a few upward strokes this formula tames and sets even the most stubborn brows into the perfectly pushed up feathered and full look i do not have an issue with my brows being tamed or untamed in fact i have such sparse and slow growing brows that i went and had them tattooed on my face so that i couldn't have to fill them in to the gods every damn day all right i need a little bit filled in here before we oh i should use the brush all right well i have one powder palette oh oh gosh no i retract my previous statement i'm going to fill in my brows the way that i normally do this is very very very stiff so as soon as it touched all of the powder fell completely off and on my face and i gotta fix my face all right now we're ready for brows this is what it looks like it looks like it's empty but it's a clear wax that's just on top there the instructions in the little pamphlet say that you have to activate the wax by spraying it with something it patrick todd does suggest a setting spray so you just i don't know why i did it twice you activate it get everything all wet and then you scrub your spoolie in there and then you no longer can use that mirror because you got it all wet and then you comb it into your brows i think that like did it they look wild right now the instructions say to wait a minute or two until it's fully dry and then go in with the spoolie and shape it how you want so i'm gonna wait and see what happens and i can kind of feel them they feel like i did definitely put something in my eyebrows they feel kind of like gunky or something right now like heavy while these dry i'm gonna take a peek at this so it looks like we could have received one of four different shades of the about face the matte lip color which by the way it did dry down really nice i don't feel it at all on my lips it does feel very nice it has very very very little transfer to it but it is incredibly comfortable so his picks for the box were the pat mcgrath labs mascara the about face liquid lip color the complex culture sonic t-bar and the huda beauty mastered remastered um palette so then the options that you could have selected from we're between the patrick top beauty velvet chrome blush which i would have loved i love love love brow products um but this is clear so it doesn't really offer anything new for me and blush i think i would have used all the time and i don't have like bushy eyebrows so i definitely would have selected the blush if i was able to have done my curation other choice options were tula skincare rose glow and get it cool it cooling and brightening eye balm a yes of beauty pink lotus peptide renewal eye cream private doctor define minus serum and in item beauty one hit triple action setting mist air professional texture air like hair spray the rnco tea cup um scalp detox the igk first class charcoal detox dry shampoo which is awesome and then the saints and sinners hair care holographic serum which i got i think between all of like that whole section and this whole section you could have selected two items from it would i have selected what i received i would have swapped out this saints and sinners for either the item beauty triple action setting mist or the air professional texture air spray or the igk the other options down here were a kiss and makeup clutch which i'm glad we did not get the ipsy clutch that would have been a really weird thing to have had as an option inside of the bag babe lash essential serum for growing out like your lashes thicker and um better and then the kitchen velvet scrunchies in the velvet so that's what i received i thought it was five to seven items but i got eight items in here i can feel that this this is dry now look at that oh my gosh i can get them ah i've never been able to do those kind of brows they actually stay in place when you brush them up look at that i have i have the bushy full brows all of a sudden crazy i look unkept though i don't love that on me so i'm just gonna smooth that down but it works it holds your in place that is awesome okay so for 55 am i pretty happy with it i am i got eight different items i have stuff from pat mcgrath the brand new brand from halsey
