hello everyone welcome to this training today we're gonna look how to fix them up in resolume we have a set up a 5x iggins they all have 60 la-ladies you know gb we're gonna go through how to make a fixture in resolume and then we're going to see how to patch it and now - then my pair for a composition so first of all we're gonna create a fixture they were gonna use this case we're gonna create a 10 pixel long flick shift because that's one side of the X again because resolume can only do linear fixture at the moment so to do that here in two applications section eater so now you have this window opening up and on the left here you can say there's some fixtures they already made some come resolume I think LED 16 comes with residue but we're gonna make a new one call it training and we have our parameters so we can see where with of one a night of one as a standard we can change that so we're gonna have width of 10 and a fight of wood so that gives us 10 pixels and 10 channels here you can change the color space so my case there are GB but there is it a lot of different ones our is if it's just luminance which is just on or off so if you have like a domain you wanted to but some of our bet people do it with this and then all the other ones fairly self-explanatory by name so have I got a thick with RGB because this will be good and we can change the distribution so we can make them go left to right right left doesn't really matter in this case just align so we just turning around if you were to make something like a matrix like the matrix we have in the foundry for example um then you'll have to look up which way the channels are laid out and you can select which way they're laid out here and you can see it changes the numbering for your channel so gives you an idea of where the channel the DMX channels off so let's go back to the one we want this um and that's pretty much it for making a fixture you can add parameters they are not pixels if you want so if you go down here and press Plus you can add new parameters in this case it would be address 31 in our fixture you can put a value to it that goes between 0 and 255 this can be helpful if you have things like masters and your fixtures for any reason you can set them up and do a set level that you know what it does sorry and then you can have that level and if you want to change it the position you can put it before the pixel or after the pixels and then we will automatically change the number of the address so we don't want that based on the RGB and so automatically saves surprisingly for resident it's probably the only thing the automatically saves if we go into application preferences there is this thing this part called dear max we're not actually using this because this is just for the inputs um I'm just showing this just in case you were trying to find yeah but here this is just to get DMX into resolume not to output it to output it we have to go to output and then we go to advanced and here's something I already made this is what we're gonna make towards the end but we're gonna create a new one for now you and this is you might get if you're starting just a new resolution mice you want to start an irritant sure we don't want to screen so we go to plus and we go to DMX universe which is basically the universe and it automatically puts a fixture in it just has to so for now that's skid first and you can see says no output so if you click on it there's also two target IP says no output the quickest way to get an output out of it is to right-click and it comes up with some options you can either broadcast I would not particularly recommend that because obviously if you have multiple I'm that nodes in your network you're gonna send to everything so the better way to do it is to select your own the node name if that doesn't appear you can just go over here and put IP address and burn natural IP address and you know then you put your arm in node on no case we don't need that so he's gonna put epic summon a it knows the target IP so we have that's how we set up the output at the moment there is nothing going on you know seen so you don't see anything on our hexagons so I'm gonna put something on so Matt shared before to map projectors or video wall and then usually you do he go into output that's your test cut you can do that as well over here but it's not going to help you as much because sometimes you want to see which way around your pixels are and which way around your strip is orientated and this kind of static picture is not very helpful for that so we're actually going to make which is we usually pick some up stuff is make some lines to go to sources lines just chug some lines let's just cut out some lines on I usually make them not very fuzzy fairly thin and then we make them move and now you can see something is turning on my LEDs so now that we have this moving strips you can start a lining up so to advance you gonna delete this because we don't need it so here we have our first side which you can see is for the bottom Mexican is the top left side and to the right you have a lot of information just color some of you reasons one of your strips is weight L is something your brightness and contrast things that another can speak star channel is one which is nice if you want to defer nothing them see many lies to dip switches in the foundry but sometimes they come around this is quickly get the racket switches and also you can say in here and look at the output you see described so now we're going to really mimic the position of this stroke do - relax again the way I tend to do this is I make one excellent of one shape is repeating and you can just control C control V they'll set and make it as many time as you want to get the whole thing so this is fairly similar to what you do when you reject him up yeah you can make you pick some big ears if you want or smaller try to make them kind of the actual size Oh compared to the real thing that you're trying to come up um because it makes it nice that it's more cutting um and now you can turn it around things that so we are making a Mexican so we know all the all the angles so it's gonna be a 30 to minus 30 degree angle in this case and now you can see why I want something moving to see if I orientated my my little strip correctly because we could also have it pull their way like this you could see that now they're pixels going up instead of going down and we know that this is not the way we want it um so we could flip it back I said now you can see this is what we want and then if you want to add another fetch it you can just go here press yeah that's picture and yeah that's what so you can see automatically added the last one I made if you want to use a different fetch if you go here towards the right again here you can change it you will automatically change it it also automatically addresses as the lowest possible address in the universe and you can also just you know eyeball it and now basically you start laying down your fetches as you as they are in real life monkey like I say at the moment I'm taking most of the composition but what I'm gonna do is this is going to turn select it all and resize it is kind of the right size well we can also do that this three control-c control-v and you can see it creates three more with the right addresses the krinsman the same place book that's alright first I don't know if you can actually flip this and here you can if you can see now they're all on how to figure out which for this which you can just click this Square any kinds of turns off nobody he also turns off where it is pretty easy to solve next one there again you can see the bottom left corner this accident is going to stop going down a bit of time to get this hopefully done once you've done it for one of your shapes or one of your rows for example or fishes then you can quickly copy and paste so now you can see where these execute execute properly mapped so Adam we're gonna do now cuz you feel big for the size of a composition we're gonna select them all you know resize for pressing so it keeps the right scale so there's a squish any popped and then you can see we have one or two accidents and what I can do pretty easily now is the control-c control-v another one the right dresses and then we have to just put it in the workplace which in my case about yeah and because of how we built these accidents they are not always starting from the same spot so I have to just rotate it if I do right now this is completely the opposite of what I want now you can fine-tune your position all right obviously going only downwards you can only see one dimension which we do correctly eyes good enough for this we're just gonna do it again so ctrl C V you know select your movie to the right place so it's the right it's the right direction you can say we are missing one and that's because actually see over here it turns red so this one you can see starts a 5-11 and goes to 540 but there's not that many channels in one universe do max so we have to do is to create another luma verse which face the light take a second and then epic so many so now you can see he's turning on what we can do for 12 weeks now it's back here with dumb one yes then we can just select one of the extensions control say joined how did you move the bus just go B so you can see created one can put in the right place we can see again this is not the right the right place we're gonna turn you around learn and be the last one but some reason is trying to I don't know what first duplicate we can just put this one over here again he needs some adjustment because I'm gonna just yang goes up here then an interesting position that's right angle - pretty well smoke maybe this for needs to go a bit slower maybe this will be higher it's pretty easy but I just don't worry too much about getting perfect first try so easy it's pretty quick yeah we can say first I'm gonna go back to it just to show you what you can see in the DMX output and this is kind of just an idea what you can see in that universe so that's give us to it see each fetcher and where it's patched and if you wanted to reap a tree you could also just drag the corner here with the little dots and if you can actually see them and then just drag it around and you can carry address the picture if you wanted so doesn't really flatten out on DMX uh but if you look over here you see you up put everything you can see yeah that's pretty much what we're getting so the hexagons are not it's perfect so they're not exactly 10 pixel on each side so some whatever be and if you wanted to check the other the rest is properly aligned we could just change the rotation of our lines something like so yeah that's pretty much it one thing worth mentioning is each of the fixture comes as a slice so you can do kind of things I'm not showed with sliced transform in the first video yeah that's up to you yeah so that's pretty much it for how to patch and map switches that way easier than projectors because you know they're just pixels in the right place in your composition in this case I was doing a composition just for the pixels so I made a composition fairly small obviously if you were making if you are putting both pixel and projection together make your composition for the projection and then just put the pixel in the right place and then you can just make them figure if they need to so they start to big doesn't work as well some other things you can change there's your on so Mikey case I'm using one into the two University node to do this you change things like opacity so for example if you get some lights they're fairly bright and some you could change them so give it some changing your passage of universe wander you can actually see all the wonderful honor it'll be less bright absolutely camera doesn't look as nice in real life where say for example if you had one set of fixtures that was too bright you can mine universe you can just change it you can also adjust the color if you have pictures with different color profiles and you're bothered by it you can fix it that I fix a pair shoes well three days you have just purchased some reason it is that's right you can just tell the brightness hope this was helpful if you have any questions just feel free to send me a message this is pre-recorded because my internet is um but I have a good day so if you have some fun I'm going to do this you can just do it without an actual output obviously one see it is pretty self-explanatory looking so good
